Parking was terrible since there isn't a designated parking area for the hotel. Good location, within walking distance to shops and places to eat. Bed was not as comfortable as i had hoped and the bathrooms are small. First night showering was luke warm but there was hot water in the morning.

Other than the fan not working in the bathroom, everything else was very nice, Staff was pleasant and helpful, the bed was comfortable, the room was clean, the water pressure in the shower was hot and plentiful. The Lobby was very inviting and was a comfortable place to sit in front of the fireplace and enjoy either a drink from the bar or a cup of coffee from the French bakery! Parking further up the street was not an issue at all, they also have valet parking if needed. Check in and checkout were quick and easy. As a Solo female, I felt very welcomed, safe and comfortable! I would stay here again.

The downtown location was ideal, with walkable access to restaurants and stores. The retention of the historic character of the building was lovely and the room was clean and well-appointed. However, because of the location along the main drag, parking can be a hassle and traffic noise, especially on a Saturday night, was annoyingly loud. The rest of my stay was very enjoyable.

The outside was adorable. Apon walking in is a huge wiff of fish and cologne. The man checking us in was very nice but very hard to understand. Once we got up to out room there was no aid conditioning abd the windows dont open. They did give us a little fan but it could only do so much. The door didnt lock properly and there was still hair in the bathtub.
They have free coffe in the room but in order to make it you would have to buy the $3 dollar water.
For the price we paid for 2 rooms air conditioning and water should be included.

The biggest bummer was that this morning we had to catch a train this morning and we had to do that with no coffee because the coffee shop didn’t open at 6. This then led to a whole list of events that led to its almost 1pm and I still haven’t had coffee and ended up getting separated from my adult kid on the train. It’s been a nightmare and I just wanted my single shot Capp with almond milk. It’s the honestly one of the best things about your hotel, that the coffee shop is there and open at 6.

We were so happy to have found hotel Petaluma. We selected it for it’s location which is equidistant from California wine country and San Francisco. It was exactly as pictured and expected. We enjoyed all the comforts that one comes to expect with staying at a Hilton location, but we were charmed by the historic building and the surrounding Petaluma area. There are so many restaurants and shops within walking distance. Plus, in the hotel there is a delightful coffee bar and bakery, cheese shop, and the lobby bar serves excellent cocktails. The customer service was fantastic and the hotel staff went above and beyond to help us and make our stay comfortable. We are looking forward to a return stay in the future!

The hotel is so beautiful. All staff we encountered were friendly and welcoming. At checkin, Ben greeted us immediately with a smile. The next morning we enjoyed sitting in the lobby drinking coffee and chatting with the weekend desk clerk, I think her name was Soe. She too was wonderful. We enjoyed our entire stay and are planning to rerun.

Room had broken HVAC and got super cold, they gave us space heaters but no change in room. Front desk staff were not helpful and told us that we should not have booked through a third party, they could not do anything to address the bad experience because of it.

We have stayed here several times over the years and love this hotel. It is a great location, beautiful space and friendly staff. My only small complaint is that it is the middle of winter and I was hoping for more blankets or at least a duvet on the bed. It was a little cold and uncomfortable to have only sheets and a thin throw on the bed. But other than that, we had a wonderful stay!

Adorable hotel in great location…walking distance to multiple restaurants. The lobby/bar area is so fun! We had plans, but wished we could have spent more time there. The hallways had kind of a weird “old person’s home” smell, but it was much fainter in the rooms. Our room was smallish, but that’s to be expected in an older building. The room was clean, with very comfortable bed/bedding. It was nice to have a fridge and the coffee selection was excellent. Each staff member we encountered was friendly and extremely helpful! It was kind of hard to find parking, but I read online that there is a parking garage nearby. Not sure of the price, but it would be a good backup if you can’t find street-parking. I would absolutely recommend this hotel if you’re in the area.

The hotel itself is beautiful and in downtown Petaluma. Extremely walkable neighborhood.

Couple that with warm and welcoming staff, attention to detail and you get a recipe for excellence.

Special recognition: Theophile - he made our stay extra comfortable by suggesting the best place to park, warning us about the parking fee and passing us a parking pass to a small lot near the hotel. He also later brought an extra blanket when the night was colder than anticipated. These elements are not something you can advertise— but they make all the difference.

This place has that unique old Spanish building quality that is so charming and endemic to California. Gorgeous tile, metalwork, and such. Only drawbacks were somewhat flat, “bag of sand” style pillows on the beds, quite low water pressure in the showers and oddly small toilets. Otherwise very comfortable place with an amazing bakery next door, and very close to restaurants, a beautiful park, and bars and shopping. Also the staff are incredibly cordial, accommodating, and knowledgeable. They let me keep my luggage behind the counter in the lobby after I’d checked out, and the guy behind the bar was incredibly knowledgeable about the history of the area.

Historic hotel in the center of a very interesting city. Egg capital of the world, in the day. Our room was on the 5th floor which requires an elevator ride to the 4th floor and schlepping bags up to the 5th. Not a problem for us, but some folks may consider it. Charming lobby with that cool old historic vibe. Restaurants nearby within easy walking distance. No onsite parking, but street parking is free, just beware of the time limits. Reception explained it.

Hotel itself is beautiful with a very cute courtyard, nice bakery, and the on site restaurant was delicious too. Parking is street-side and not terrible to find, but I didn't see that in the listing, so just a head's up. The room was good, with some quirks, but nice and comfortable.

There were some surprises like 5am trash pickup in the alley out back the first night, fire alarm going off on the second night, and water main work happening that all made me feel like this is a quirky historic hotel, and that is just part of it. All that said, I would stay here again.

When I checked in the front desk manager informed me that they had to downgrade my room due to maintenance issues. It wasn't clear how many other reservations were impacted and they couldn't tell me the specific maintenance issue. They could not offer a credit for the smaller room because I reserved through Expedia. They did provide a hotel credit of $15, but that wasn't worth the closet size room and smaller bed than what I had reserved. I've been coming to this hotel for many years and have always been more than satisfied. Unfortunately, the front desk manager left something to be desired in how he communicated the issue.

Overall experience was good. The parking was a bit challenging as you have to move your car by 10am. In addition, was told the water will turn off at 10am. Loved the cafe and closeness to everything. The room was small but comfy, the mattress was heavenly. The building is a bit old but charming. The bathroom could be cleaner.

I found the rooms were small and the bathroom smaller. Most of our room soaps and shampoo/conditioner were left at very low levels and in one case bath gel was empty. Room was not cleaned well, as dirty paper cups were left out. When I asked the Manager about this, his comment was some people like to reuse dirty cups.
