Fairly modern hotel in a great location overlooking the sea on both sides so only some rooms don't get a sea view at all. Bed too hard for my liking, room very warm and ventilation a bit lacking in the bathroom. Very nice breakfast room with great sea view, nice breakfast with good choice. Staff all very helpful and nice. No real restaurant on site but some food can be provided, including some really good fresh seafood, mainly oysters, to be ordered earlier in the day for dinner. Car park a bit of a squeeze but parking is at a premium everywhere so good to have the option.

Great renovation but still missing irons in rooms!

This was my second stay at this hotel. The hotel has been renovated and modernized since my first stay (2 years earlier) with the Christian Dior theme everywhere. Breakfast is pretty good. The bar is fine, but the service is rather slow if you want beer. The refrigerator seems to be a good walk down the hall to retrieve the Heineken mini keg every time you want a beer. My only major complaint with this facility is that there are no irons/boards in the room. The only iron is a communal one located in the housekeeping laundry room. I am almost certain that it is the same exact iron from 2 years prior because of the \"burn\" mark directly on the center of the soleplate that I recognized from back then. I'm not sure Christian Dior would vouch for this. Parking is underground and is a two level nightmare with tight turns and ridiculously small parking spaces. Anything larger than a Smart car or Mini Cooper may have issues, but then again, this is Europe.

We stayed in a duplex room for 2 nights. The room was very clean and spacious and the balcony had a sea view. The hotel is 2 mins from the beach and about 5 mins from the town. When we arrived the hotel parking was full but we were able to find free street parking on the street directly opposite the hotel.

My two floor room was great for my wife and myself (we were upstairs) and my daughter who had the fold out sofa.. The rooms were modern, clean, and had good light (upstairs had a skylight) and a nice view. from the downstairs balcony.

The garage is a challenge for anything other than a small car. It is possible to park in one of the stalls but requires great skill, nerves of steel, and a lot of manipulation. I don't know how they could fix it. If you don't like the anxiety, come with a smaller car.

Car park very cramped. Room was on two levels with awkward staircase to bedroom from lower level which had bathroom and seating. Not suitable for anyone with walking difficulties. Shower over bath with no curtain. Otherwise very good hotel so if booking watch out for these features and avoid them. Excellent location and very good breakfast.

The room was quite small and the shower cubicle was not ideal as the floor got really wet so all the towels were needed to mop up. The staff changed these for us and dried the floor once asked. The hotel is not geared up for evening dining but only a short walk to the town where there are endless restaurants. Parking height restriction applies which we were not aware of before the stay. Luckily we managed to park on the road just along from the hotel but had a space not been there not sure what we would have have done as all on a one way system and parking is difficult in the town. Great place for cycling along the coast road. Highly recommended as a base.

I really liked this hotel because the rooms were comfortable and contemporary and the staff provided excellent service in a very friendly way. They made me feel at home.

I booked a couple different stays because my work kept getting extended, left came back etc, so I tried different rooms. I recommend the balcony room over the regular room, not so much for the balcony (because I stayed in winter) but because the balcony rooms are larger. The bed was really comfortable, nice view and plenty of space. There's a parking garage so that's good too. The free internet is a little slow so I recommend upgrading to the faster internet though it's not necessary. Wonderful view from the bar/lounge area, just overall a very pleasant place to stay.

Nice beachfront hotel

The hotel is spacious, clean and in a great location. Only complaint is that the parking is challenging to navigate. You need to check in first to obtain the access key for the garage. To enter the garage, you drive down a curved, pretty steep driveway, which is bi-directional but the width only accommodates one direction at a time. The parking spots are extremely narrow, with columns on either side. The lights in the garage seem to be on some kind of timer so if you are unable to park in the allotted time, you are stuck in a dark garage.

Modern hotel sitting above a public beach with breathtaking views of the ocean, along the coastline in both directions, and over the city of Granville. The room was large and had a balcony. Breakfast was extensive and served in a room with a wall of windows overlooking the water. Front desk staff were helpful with dinner and sightseeing suggestions. Bartender was very friendly. Highway signs made the hotel easy to find, which was an uncommon bonus during our 12 days in Belgium and France. Definitely recommend this hotel.

The hotel has a fantastic location just close to the boardwalk. At the hotel terrasse You can sit and enjoy the view to the Atlantic ocean ( when it´s there). Extremely nice and friendly staff so helpful and welcoming. Parked our cars in the parking garage at the hotel basement because everything in Granville was in walking distance. Very fine breakfast for a reasonable Price, and only half price for our grandchildren. Free wifi and tv.

This hotel has a staff that was very helpful and very cheerful. They took pride in thier property as it was clean from the top to the bottom. the only negative was the room was small. Breakfast was good.
On my next visit I will try to find parking on the street. The downstairs garage that was very tight and it cost 9 euros per night.

A great large-scale seafront hotel

The hotel is in an excellent location - its a stone's throw from the beach - and is right near a casino if that is your sort of thing. The rooms are top notch and seem to have been recently redecorated. Ours was on two levels with a balcony and separate bathroom and WC. It has tea/coffee facilities which is always a bonus. The bed was solid but the second bed is a pullout sofa bed - still okay but a bit less comfortable). Most rooms seem to have a sea view (The hotel is towards the tip of the peninsula so there is visible sea on both sides). The staff are all friendly; English is spoken by some. The dining/breakfast room is superb: there is an outside section if weather permits. The downsides are largely the additional costs - the parking is rather pricey - but does have the advantage of being underneath the hotel and therefore secure as well as easy to access directly by lift (the lift also gives you direct access to the beach. The 'petit dejuener' is high quality and with lots of choice but it is rather expensive and something you will probably do only once rather than every day (unless you are on an expense account). There is no hotel restaurant as such - but there are some 'bar food' type options - but these are a bit limiting, particularly if you are vegetarian. Again the quality of this food is high but the cost is a bit prohibitive.

Lovely hotel perched upon a hill with a tremendous view of the sweeping ocean. Located in the heart of the town, and easy to walk around the entire area. Rooms are modern and bathrooms are fully appointed and comfy. The one downside was that in the off season (Late Fall into Winter) many of the shops and restaurants are may be closed. Would definitely stay here again.

Surprisingly good location

We were surprised by Granville and thought it was lovely. We had never heard of the place and chose it at the last minute by chance. The hotel couldn't be any closer to the sea without actually being in it. The accommodation was modern and clean though the room could have been a bit bigger. The staff were ok but seemed a bit more interested in their daily concerns than in the hotel guests. The bed was good but the pillows were a bit flat for anyone with shoulders!

Great stopover

Although a little tricky to find in the tow centre, this was a great stopover hotel as we travelled between Cherbourg and the South. We had a family room split over two levels with a great view of the sea. We arrived late but the reception staff managed to rustle up some late night drinks as the nearby local bars were closing by the time we got there. There is a useful parking below the hotel but very very narrow. Quality of the rooms was exceptional as was the service from staff. A shame we only spend one night there.

1. The Hotel was difcult to find we had to use our sat nav in the end, 2.The entrance to the hotel was dificult to get the cars in. 3. The underground car park was dificult to get in and out off with classic cars. 4. It was a pity that there wasnt a restraunt. 5 The receptionist was excellent and spoke terrific english. She was very helpfull and even help us to get the cars into the car park. 6. The rooms were excelient and spotless. 7 overall we had a good couple of days.

A Perfect Ten

This hotel was by-far one of the best hotels my family has ever stayed in. The staff was friendly and the room was amazing. The view was incredible, you got a wonderful view of the adorable city and the water as well. All resturants within walking distance were exceptional. The hotel has its own parking garage. The port city surrounding area was picture perfect. We highly reccomend this hotel.

We picked this location based on customer reviews and the location of the city we happened to be passing through.... what we didn't expect is the amazing view, the quaint boardwalk along the channel, and the superb hotel. Breakfast was a bit pricey, but very good... and parking was limited (but available and very tight in the underground garage) for a reasonable fee. Of all the stops on our family vacation, I would return to this location and hotel for more days over all the others (Paris and London included).

The hotel was fine and of the standard expected of the Mercure brand. The room was extremely clean and comfortable affording an angled view of the sea from the balcony. The only downside was the extensive building work being carried out on the site. Fortunately, there was no work in progress during my stay so all was quiet though I doubt other visitors would have been so fortunate. Some form of indication of this might be a useful addition to the hotel's entry on the website to forewarn and avoid disappointment. Otherwise a pleasant experience. Would return if staying the in locale in the future.

From the begining of our stay the front dest personnel were very friendly and accomodating. Although we stayed only one night I can safely state the the stay was very comfortable and would stay again. Theonly issue we had was our van we were traveling in was larger than the hotels parking accomodations and was forced to park in the neighborhood. This was not a problem in the evening. All and all a great value for the cost of the stay.

This hotel deserves more than what I.ve read. The rooms have all facilities, large size, tv, fridge, iron, kettle in room, free wi fi. Very friendly staff throughout. The location is close to the town centre but the only negatives would be no restaurant on site but there are quite a few nearby. The views from the breakfast area over the sea make this a beautiful place to sit. Breakfast is slightly more expensive though the choice is extensive with cereal, choice of fruits/bread/meats, cheese etc. highly recommended

fabulous quaint town on the beach

The setting is terrific-once you get there. Suggest having GPS, we did not and had to ask directions twice. Baths are nice, bed comfortable, free wifi and great breakfast room view. Parking can be a challenge.

nice small town hotel

I asked for a fan because it was too hot to sleep with the windows closed and the seagulls were too noisy to sleep with them open. Since the one they brought me was broken, one of the staff went out to buy a new fan for my room.
