Home Hotel Bryggeparken is a charming hotel located in the heart of Skien, right on the quayside by the Telemark Canal. Enjoy a stay in a homely setting within walking distance of many of Skien’s most popular attractions and activities, with breakfast, afternoon fika and dinner included in your room rate.

The hotel is beautifully located in central Skien with lovely views of the Telemark Canal, and numerous bars and restaurants all around. You’ll be just a short walk away from the lovely Brekke Park, the Ibsenhuset concert hall and the Skien Leisure Park.

You can also take a 10-minute walk over to the house where Henrik Ibsen was born. As soon as you step through the doors of Home Hotel Bryggeparken, you’re sure to feel right at home.

Go ahead and relax in this elegant and historic setting – the lobby bar has a lovely fireplace and there is plenty of outdoor seating. All guests can look forward to breakfast, afternoon fika and dinner served at the hotel.

This new brick building constructed in 2001 was inspired by the historic setting with Skien having been the heart of the Telemark timber rafting industry, and a major hub for exports to Europe. The hotel has seven meeting rooms that are suitable for all kinds of corporate and private events for up to 130 people.

With its homely atmosphere, beautiful location and meals included in the price of an overnight stay, this is the ideal place to host weekend conferences. If you have time to spare, you can enjoy a great workout at the hotel gym featuring a range of equipment including free weights and yoga mats.

We had a lovely two nights stay and were very impressed with the quality and quantity of food included in the price. We definitely did not go hungry. The room and facilities were very good with lovely white bedding etc. Everyone was very nice and helpful which made our stay great.

Terrible service

Non-existent service, zero politeness. No greeting when we came in - no asking how our stay was on check out. When I complained that we didn’t sleep all night due to a BROKEN bed, I got zero apologies or compensation. All she said is she would pass on the message, like this is something a guest cares about. Unfortunately this is the only half decent option in Skien if you really need a place to sleep.

Friendly staff, very good bed. breakfast from 8 to 11 am. nice selction, with from fish , boiled eggs, scarabled eggs and bacon to cheese and red pepper. frankly i only noticed the salt and peper then i was done eating, asthe scrabled eggs as normal at hotels is more or less non existing, and i like a bit peppers and salt on it, but even with out it was fairly ok , as i added bacon so it got some flamour.

Extremely convenient, and (pet) friendly hotel!

We were in town to pick up our new puppy, and this hotel was pet-friendly. The clerks in the reception doted on our little puppy, and not once did we feel like we were an inconvenience. This hotel serves an afternoon snack, and dinner, included in the price. This made for an exceptionally easy experience for my daughter and I, who had our little puppy along. Wonderful place!

Excellent value in Skien

Located within a short walk from Telemark Canal cruise dock this hotel was chosen for it's location but it was so much more. Meals are included in the room price; both breakfast, dinner, and a snack. The food was made fresh and the quality and quantity way above the usual hotel fare. There is a bar in the hotel and several restaurants along the waterfront. The desk clerk helped us find parking, made sure we knew where the boat was leaving from and stored our bags for us until we got back, even opened breakfast early so we could eat before we left! Rooms were sparking clean, included a mini fridge, black out shades, and the beds were good. There is a library area in addition to the lobby. Home away from home.

Kunne ikke åpne vinduer før kl 0230 på natten grunnet høy musikk, skråling og røyking fra puben under. Rommet var klamt og varmt. Vanskelig å sove. Lite eller Ingen aircondition.

Ingen søvn å få, men nydelig mat!

Lite søvn å få denne lørdagsnatten da hotellet ligger i «bargaten» på brygga.

MEN til tross for, så har hotellet et nydelig spisested, hvor frokosten var god og de tilbydde «dagens middag» inkludert i prisen fra kl 18:00-20:00. Dette var et helt supert tilbud og maten smakte fortreffelig!
Det ble servert tex mex gryte med et variert sidetilbehør bestående av grønnsalat, pastasalat og brokkolisalat. I tillegg lå det deilig brød tilgjengelig. Helt fantastisk!

Hygglig service fra personalet både i resepsjonen og på kjøkkenet.

Om vi hadde fått sovet, ville jeg gitt topp score, for sengen er komfortabelt, faktisk en av de bedre, og rommet hadde god atmosfære og lufting, men vi vet alle at søvn er vesentlig viktig for en utflukt og som småbarnsforeldre er det uvurderlig.

Jeg savner litt mer rundt glutenfri frokost: eget smør, eget syltetøy (ved å observere andre gjester/barn ser man at det ikke nytter for oss m cøliaki å bruke det samme). Og, litt mer enn bare brød? Ellers fornøyd!

Badet var kaldt, iskaldt på gulvet, ring til toilettskål var altfor liten. Badekar med dusj og dusjforheng er ikke bra.
Vegg til vegg tepper er ut.
God mat og flott med fika og middag inkludert.

Skuffende opphold

Slitte vegg-til -vegg tepper i gangen og på rommet. Vi var nødt til å ha vindu åpent om natta, rommet vendte mot gågata/elva og det var enormt mye støy hele kvelden og langt ut på natta,vi sovnet ikke før etter kl.02. Mye støy og trengsel i matsalen både ved middag og frokost,da det var fotballcupturnereing i Skien, stappfullt hotel,- umulig å snakke med hverandre. Lange køer ved buffeten. Ved vaffel-fikan.skulle de absolutt at minst ett dobbelt-vaffeljern, da det kun var et enkelt og det var lang kø.

I had 3 nights at the hotel. The food was not something I would call home and tell anyone about and not a single time through these days did the clean the room, make the bed or even changed towels.

Et i mengden.

Vi kom sent og dro tidlig og fikk derfor ikke utnyttet oss av verken fika eller kveldsmat. Da blir hotellet et i mengden, som ikke skiller seg nevneverdig ut. Rommene begynner å eldes og interiøret utdatert. Men sengene er gode og vi sov godt.

Sjekket inn kl 19
Varm Kveldsmat inkl. Dette var fiskekaker og potet, salat, brød mm. Helt greit.
Rommet var bra, men utsikt rett i en fjellknaus, å endel bråk fra veien rett nedenfor. Fint bad.
Veldig hyggelig å imøtekommende ansatte.
