Zannier Sonop is a luxurious tented camp nestled at the Southern extremity of the Namib desert, in the Hardap region (Namibia). Designed as a refined British colonial experience from the 1920’s, this out-of-the-ordinary lodge offers a perfect retreat in a stunning panoramic desert landscape.
Constructed on top of boulders, the ten spacious tents aim to offer a unique journey through time. Richly furnished with antiques made of fine materials, colourful carpets and precious wood they are an invitation to live the life of yesteryear’s wealthy explorers.
The sophistication of the lodge contrasts with the simplicity of the endless surroundings. Zannier Sonop’s unforgettable journey can be experienced through two types of rates: either full board or all-inclusive.
— Full board package includes accommodation, VAT, tourism levy, breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as non-alcoholic drinks at official meal times. The rates are per night.
— The all-inclusive package includes activities to the previous package. It includes accommodation, VAT, tourism levy, full board and all beverages (except premium brands and Champagne), a daily afternoon tea and a selection of complimentary experiences (twice daily a morning and afternoon Nature Drive, Electric Bike Trails, Walking Trails, Horse Riding Tours and Outdoor Cinema).
A list of outdoor excursions is on offer. The rates are per night.
When you stay at Zannier Sonop in Sesriem, you'll be within the region of Drifters Desert Reserve. Make yourself at home in one of the 10 air-conditioned rooms featuring minibars.

We started off our Namibia trip here and had such a wonderful time! Hilton, Revival, Timothy and the rest of the staff were so friendly, welcoming, helpful and patient. The property itself is so stunning and serene— the way it is decorated and its architecture is so impressive and it feels as if you traveled back to the early 20th century. We did the film by the pool and had such an incredible view of the stars. The food was delicious, the views were incredible. Definitely worth the long drive there!

I cannot recommend Zannier Sonop highly enough. It is genuinely one of the most spectacular places I have ever stayed. The hotel facilities are world-class, and finding this level of refinement deep in the Namibian wilderness makes the journey worthwhile in itself. But the staff at Sonop are so extraordinary that they could turn even a 3-star property into a 5-star experience. If there is any place that truly deserves a 6-star rating, it is Sonop — and every one of the exceptional people working there.
A special shoutout to Ronnie, who was our guide throughout the stay and made every single experience memorable.
We were four people across two tents, and for much of our stay it felt as though we had the property almost to ourselves, even though it was fully booked at times. Four days were almost too short — we left feeling there was still more to explore and enjoy.
We are already looking forward to returning!
