Sauna always broken

The sauna was broken. Not the first time either. The main reason i chose this hotel was because of the sauna. It was broken and didn't get fixed. This is easily fixed in a few hours even if it means installing a new unit.

So I feel robbed.

Overall, hotel was nice: clean, close to train station. Room was large. Bathroom was decent. On the negative side, despite being a large room, there was little storage for clothing. Worse, the AC barely kept the room to 78-80 degrees, and Lausanne was hot and humid. The staff was pleasant but not always terribly knowledgeable. The breakfast was sub par for 22chf. If you want a cool room, I suggest you look elsewhere.

J’ai beaucoup aimé que votre hôtel soit si près de tout, vraiment beau et bien décoré! J’ai aimé avoir une chambre compacte et confortable avec un beau balcon. Par contre, l’accueil n’était pas très chaleureux. La chambre n’était pas très propre (poils sur le plancher dans la salle de bain, graines sur matelas), ampoule brûlée et pomme de douche brisée.
J’ai tou de même apprécié ma visite. Merci!

Nice hotel, very well located for the train station. Two good restaurants and the staff there were very friendly. Room was a bit basic for the price paid, a coffee machine would have been nice rather than instant coffee sachets.

Another hotel that has moved to a self-check in process which is a real shame. Really disappointing, after having travelled all day, to be greeted by an IPad rather than a real person. It’s never any quicker or more convenient orfor the customer and just another way for the hotel to cut costs and service.

Very cool hotel in a great area of town. Can walk to many places and very close to the main train station. Very clean, comfortable bed, and cool design. The front desk staff were pretty cold and not the most helpful unfortunately. Our room was on an upper floor on the main street and it was a little loud at night, but nothing that disturbed us much. We would stay there again.

The only issue was that I had to wait to get checked in. I did get a balcony overlooking the lake. And I didn't pay for a special room. I loved the tiny room. The tub shower was a bit small. But, it was so cute and what a view and it had all you could need. I wish it was my permanent apartment. I stayed at the hotel in front of it two nights before. This was much better. One street away from the noise. Great black out drapes. TV was good. A great way to end my trip. And I'm a difficult grader.

Very convenient to train station and metro, about a five minute walk. The property is up a steep hill, so be prepared if you have a lot of luggage. Room was quiet. I had an interior room facing the courtyard. I also booked a superior single, and it was comfortable, clean, and spacious. I would highly recommend for solo travelers. Will stay here again if I come back to Lausanne!

However we didn’t like the fact that the bedroom was connected with the bathroom through an open space, so basically you hear/smell whatever is coming from whoever you are sharing the room with. It’s just doesn’t make sense. AC is loud & breakfast is basic/overpriced.

The hotel was adequate for our stay of one night in Lausanne.

LOCATION - Just outside of the train station so very convenient. It is up a steep hill and it could be an issue for some travelers. Not a problem for me but for someone coming with a lot of luggage, it may be difficult.

SERVICE - Fine; we requested a toiletry we forgot to bring, and it was provided promptly, we just had to go down to the check-in.

ROOM - Spacious and big enough for 3 people (we had 3 beds). The bathroom situation was weird as there were slats separating the bathroom / room, thankfully the toilet had a door. The faucet was totally wobbly and washing was difficult. The bathtub/shower combo was also strange as the shower head was in awkward. I am very petite and was uncomfortable; a larger person may not fit.

FACILITIES - We did not use if there were any.

HOTEL seemed to have some smoking rooms and the lobby smelled unpleasant.

BREAKFAST - was offered at 25 CHF which seemed high so we did not use but the restaurant area looked nice.

Really pleasantly surprised by this hotel. Great facilities, in a good location, and very reasonably priced. Great value for money, I would stay here again. One area of improvement, I wish they had rooms with long beds as opposed to two twins, which can push apart when two people are sleeping together throughout the night and crate a gap between the beds… but otherwise no complaints at all

We were casually greeted and given keys at the desk. It’s definitely not a 4 star property. The room was dated and in need of some “TLC”. The pillows were disgusting. Linens and towels need updates. It was fine for one night. We would not return here.

One of the few properties with AC functioning well which for the Summer 2023 was a sought after rare feature in Lausanne.
Nice layout of the rooms even if standard small size. I appreciated the small fridge, something missing in many hotels in the area.
Convenient to the main train station and therefore many restaurants.
Front desk managed to send me to 2 rooms that were not cleaned. That helped me with my 10,000 daily steps given how far the rooms are from reception. The third room was a charm.
I would stay here again.

Careful of the new rooms on 8th floor.

They have new rooms and they smell really strongly of chemicals. I stayed one week and the room never smelled less harsh even with the windows open and a portable fan that was given to me. Really unpleasant.

Just a short walk uphill from the train station and near stops for public transportation--in fact, a transit pass for the local system was included with the hotel stay. Our room had a balcony overlooking the street, wonderful for people watching. One odd feature was the frosted glass walls of the bathroom, which meant that a light turned on in the bathroom during the night lit the entire sleeping room too. But overall, a great room and an accommodating staff who even loaned an umbrella on a rainy morning.

I absolutely loved this hotel. The staff was so nice and the room was incredibly beautiful and comfortable. I would highly recommend this hotel. The only downside was that it is on a steep hill and for people that have mobility issues it is kind of hard getting up and down. But other than that I love this hotel and didn’t want to leave. Thank you for all the staff at the hotel and the restaurant who were so accommodating

Temporally They changed the location of the check in area and part of the lobby is under construction (nov 2021) .

Rooms are good , spacious , silent and clean . Mattress too soft in my opinion .

We are elderly and the hotel access from the train station was a steep incline. We were restricted in our in and out movements to visit places. The chairs in the room are the most uncomfortable cow hide and lacked the firm back support when seated; it was injurious. The single provided pillows were very soft and not comfortable for sleep. The sink was broken and bad to look at.

A very nice hotel with all of the things we need. It is very close to the train station (from the train station walks 100 meters uphill). It is easy to walk to the old town and there area lot of shops and restaurants nearby. Because it is close to the train station and subway station one can go to city centers and water front by subway quickly. The hotel provides the transportation card so riding bus and subway is free. The breakfast is expensive so we opt not to take it and there are lot of choices for breakfast nearby. We certainly will stay there again.

The hotel is very nice, with a very pleasant restaurant and nice lobby. It is conveniently located in proximity of the train station. Check in was ok and i had only to wait a couple of minutes because the receptionists were on the phone. The room had a comfortable bed and a spacious desk. It generally looked sleek and tidy, but not clean. The smell coming from the toilet was very strong and bedlinen did not look clean. The toilet was not cleaned during my three night stay. This is not expected from a hotel that charges so much. This is the worst value hotel I have experienced so far.

Response to unseasonable rainfall poor - No hot water and no e-mail. I understand that hotel can't control the weather but you can control how you respond. Tell customers in advance you have issues, be proactive with compensation - you are not offering the service you should (customer don't control the weather either) and don't do daft things like tell the customer where the gym is when you know there is no hot water!

Generally disappointed - hotel a bit tired, cigarette buts on my hotel balcony (not mine) and breakfast unappealing. Coffee self service from an urn!!! - in a 4 start hotel in 2018?!?!?

Aim of a business hotel is for customers to be Business Ready the following morning (prepared, rested, showered and fed/watered). 0/4 Fail.

Very good location next to the station and metro. How a \"4 star\" hotel can only have ONE employee working at night, looking after 250+ people in a hotel I simply do not understand. Very friendly staff but not welcoming and not interested in making an effort for the guests.

There are hundreds of hotels in the beautiful place of Lausanne, the Alpha-Palmiers is not one I will ever return to after my one night stay.

Would never recommend to anyone thinking about going there. Just look elsewhere.
