An experience of a lifetime You will never forget your first visit to Hotel Arctic, which is right on the shores of the Ilulissat Icefjord. The hotel sets a new standard for accommodation in nature, and it does not get more beautiful than the Ilulissat Icefjord, which was added to UNESCO’s World Heritage List in the summer of 2004.
The hotel offers 107 rooms, Panoramic Suites and Apartments. The Icefjord is home to one of the largest and most active glaciers in the world – its 3, 000 km2 mass moves forward by approximately 40 metres a day.
The glacier calves off approximately 10% of all the icebergs that drift out to sea from Greenland and is unmatched by any other glacier in the world. We do everything we can to ensure that you have an unforgettable stay with us.

Glass cabin is nice but small
We stayed one night in the glass cabin. The view is nice but the room is quite small. During day time on a sunny day the room can get pretty warm. One other thing I didn’t realize before the stay was that any small LED lights at night are reflected on multiple glass panels which could be annoying for some. I would opt for a larger suite in the main building next time.

Each night we were able to watch a whale play in the bay with the sun setting behind it with beautiful icebergs. A very mice way to end the day. The hotel is just outside the town but it was easy to get in by taxi or bus.
