Breakfast and all other meals were excellent. One issue is that breakfast is advertised as included but there was a $15 fee person plus tax for breakfast. I was never specifically told of fee amount at any Point of service. Front desk staff only gave me option to leave a card at the front desk to bill these extras to.

I said that my experience was terrible because my pair of tennis shoes just disappeared when cleaning the room. I went the whole day for work and return to the room by 9pm. I noted that the cloth that I left in the drawer and the shoes next to the drawer wasn't there. I call reception to notify the situation and they said that the room was set for check out that morning and that house keeping have to take and keep any forgotten items. I clarified that my reservation was for three nights and that was just my first night. They say the items would be returned and they was the next morning, but just the cloth without my sport shoes. I asked about the shoes and they replied that they will check with security. Security limited to review the videos from the cameras in the hall and the house keeping areas, and they didn't find any evidence of the extraction of the shoes from the room, just the cloth. After three terrible days of claims, they said they could not validate my allegations and could not compensate me in any way because of lack of evidence. I other words, they thought I was lying or making up a story. They said they will send a claim to their insurance. At the end I have to check out without my tennis shoes. So bad experience. Absolutely won't stay there again, even when that was my second time there because I like the hotel.

This is a very secure hotel, and a secure city, Santo Domingo. The staff is very friendly and help full. You can see this as soon as you get out of the taxi. The best part, it is localized in a privileged place, everything is very close. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The buffet had a large variety of foods and was very fresh and tasty. The Japanese restaurant was average as they did not have many popular japanese foods that we were looking for. The restaurant, piano bar and cigar lounge were always pretty empty. This is definitely a relaxing older crowd resort, no party vibes AT ALL. Also, the rooms were freezing. We even turned the air off and it was still cold. and the sheets were pretty thin with no extra blanket so I slept in the robe they provided. The location was in a good spot centrally located.

East check in. Got upgraded bc of Expedia status to Prime, which came with a top floor room, free buffet breakfast and happy hour. It is in a busy part of Santo Domingo so the noise from cars is a thing all night. Food at buffet is good, the pastries are really good and the fruit is the best. Room is spacious with a dining table and desk. All the amenities and robes. I'd definitely return to this property for my next visit. Also a nice chocolate store and patisserie is right next door.

Check-in felt very cold and transactional. Although I booked through Expedia, there was no warmth or hospitality~ only reminders about financial responsibility related to the minibar. Both my husband and I were also required to have our passports scanned, which was not communicated in advance and added to the impersonal experience.
The most serious issue was cleanliness. We encountered roaches in our room, which is unacceptable. Additionally, the bathroom had multiple visibly dirty areas, and several parts of the hotel smelled strongly of old carpet, giving the property an overall dated and unclean feel.
Another low point was the service at the casino bar. The bartender we approached appeared visibly irritated, with crossed arms and dismissive body language. She did not greet us or smile, and her tone made it very clear she did not want to be bothered. Questions were answered abruptly, creating an uncomfortable experience.
While some areas of the hotel were decent, the cleanliness issues and poor service overshadowed any positives. I would not return, nor would I recommend this property based on my experience.
