Friendly staff, but overall hotel seems very stuck in Spanish package holidays from the 1980s. Rooms and public areas desperately need a modern refurb, breakfast buffet pretty standard (OK machine coffee). Gym woefully equipped (not even dumbells and no AC!). Evening entertainment 1970s style Eurovision cringe. Lovely spot by the sea, beach and boardwalk to bars, cafes and restaurants. Nice pool, if that's your thing. Handy little mini supermarket on site. Shame you have to rely on taxis to visit other parts of the island (need more segregated country lanes and a *reliable* bus service, that actually turns up!). Would be good to have more information on sustainability of hotels.

Overpriced hotel without charm. A obvious favourite of packaged tours. Service very mixed with staff clearly worn down and grumpy after a long summer. Some motivated and helpful others clearly not. Room was not cleaned one day and tv and air conditioning. didn't work. View from hotel room over the beach was beautiful. Rooms clean and functional.

The beach was nice. The restaurant SOUTH was great. The manager DEborah and the barman, were very kind and helpful.
I didnt like all the towels hanging from the balconies. It looked shabby. The rooms had a lot of hummiditi smell.

Disappointing hotel

A few key issues with our stay:
1- first room we got given was awful. It stank of damp, opened onto a busy ground floor communal
outdoor space and was not clean. Finally we managed to move to a room in the same 'category' which was much more amenable. We were very happy for that and appreciate the reception staff who helped. They weren't surprised at our complaint.
2- photos of the hotel on the site include a decent sized fitness centre, however this was closed and you couldn't use it even on a booking basis - I think it's completely gone now although unclear, photos need to be updated on hotels.com
3- breakfast was pretty poor, luckily there are nice restaurants within walking distance. It seems everyone who stays here is on all inclusive.
4- room is called a studio but comes with nothing in the kitchen, no crockery, cutlery or pots and pans.

This is not a 4 star hotel at all, not sure if it is a 3 stars
Only one buffet restaurant that opens until 9:30pm
No room service
If you need an iron you have to go to the front desk, leave a deposit of 50 euros and return it immediately as there is only one iron for the entire hotel
You have to go to the front desk to ask for soap and shampoo as the service does not replace
If you need towels for the pool make sure you don’t go in any of the breaks of the pool guy in order to avoid waiting 20-30 minutes
The worst piece is customer service, they treat people very bad, only one receptionist was very kind, the rest with bad mud and bad manners all the time. The manager is the worst, very rustic treating people, I believe he never had a training on customer service
The good thing is that Formentera is so beautiful, so leaving the hotel to go to other beaches was a real pleasure
Nothing personal with the hotel, it shouldn’t be categorized as 4 stars, probably 2 or 3 stars will give a more realistic idea of the level of service you are going to receive.

No facilities for drinks at the swimming pool bar for cliente with breakfast.No possibility to stay at the beach at the umbrella and long chairs without paying 10 for the umbrella and 10 for each chair.You don`t explain what?s the exatly sudio and were the location . you must say that it isn't at the hotel building.

The hotel is not a 4 star hotel. The standard is very low:
The majority of the guests come with external agencies and are sold pre made all inclusive packages which, unexpectedly, drive the overall quality of the hotel.
The gym has no weights and the indoor pool is a pond.
All the sunbeds except the one around the pool are extra.
There is a different area for breakfast for more expensive guests.
The management is appalling and immature and denies the hotel has issues.
The bed sheets stink
Although the have refurbished the hotel recently the hallways are pretty stinky.
However the place is more suitable for families with kids that like to be entertained by animation.
The area is okay and pretty close to everywhere.

Top stay. Superstaff. Unforgettable views.

In late August 2016, we booked a superior double room with partial sea view -however the views of the coastline were wide and incredible. The room was comfortable and very clean, with a nice terrace with two chairs and a small table. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful all the time. The breakfast was varied and goof, and the pools were just perfect, with an incredible beach just downstairs. I would highly recommend this hotel to my friends and family.

Excellent hotel.

Just back from a couples break in Insotel Formentera Playa. Wonderful hotel right on beach front. Generous breakfast. Great rooms. The nicest hotel staff I've come across in a long time, every one of them always had a,smile on their face. Very quiet neighbourhood however this was just what the doctor ordered literally! Great beach bar for watching the sunsets further up along the boardwalk. Beautiful chilled island. Hopefully we will be back one day!

Good breakfast, friendly staff & beautiful sunsets

Although this hotel is not equivalent to a North American 4-star hotel, it makes it up with the following pluses:
- newish, clean bathroom (we stayed at one of the wings adjacent to the main hotel)
- full breakfast has a wide selection (hot food, fruits, cereal)
- friendly staff especially Clarissa (thanks for sightseeing tips), Adam (thanks for befriending us) and Borja (thanks for making massage and restaurant reservations)
- good workout programs (I attended water zumba)
- entertainment nights - young staff worked hard performing and encouraged us to join in the dancing
- beautiful sunsets
- easy walkway to get to seafood restaurants (went to Blue Bar twice)
- South Beach Club had superb food and service
- convenience store with cheap bottled water, ice cream, souvenirs (better than the markets)
- free sangria and paella on Tuesdays

I love staying in Formentera and this hotel is perfectly placed for the beach, it's between two great places to eat and drink. Gecko Beach has great food, cocktails and evening dining with a fabulous sunset and Lucky Bar is perfect for lunchtime cerveza and nibbles, plus sun-loungers to die for...

Smelly pool and useless front desk

This hotel was a real let down. From the outset our experience was problematic. The pool area where you lounge smells like excrement indicating drains haven't been cleaned for a considerable time. The buffet breakfast has so many cut corners clearly to save costs from the overripe fruit, cheap cold cuts, tasteless pancakes and some horrible bacon substitute and canned cooked mushrooms. Honestly the only edible things were the cereal and cakes. There is no free wifi nor do the computers offering internet work to a satisfactory level or just don't work. The front desk staff were absolutely useless. They didn't seem to care all the vending machines didn't work and when we asked where we cld buy a phone recharger he answered \" everything is closed u won't find one\" yet we headed into town to ask a local who told us where to go and we found one! Also whilst the rooms are lovely and well maintained it's very hard to nap as since the floors are tiled you can hear the constant sound of wood benches and stools being dragged along the floor from the other rooms. From morning to night every 5 seconds is the awful sounds of stools being dragged! Ear drums were in pain! Honestly for the price we paid you are better going somewhere more basic but at least with quality breakfast, friendly and helpful staff and a clean pool without a poo smell!

Great hotel experience

If you want a relaxed environment where to enjoy your holiday (especially if you have young kids, Insotel Formentera Playa is the place for you. Only thing I would change is wifi access, we paid for a week's wifi (€28) but you could only connect one device at a time. I'd say at least 2 is the minimum.

Good hotel in a great location

I stayed in this hotel for 5 nights and it was very good, I only booked the breakfast but I recommend an all-inclusive as there are very few alternatives for a decent lunch and evening meal without walking/driving a fair distance and paying a very high price for the hotel meal. However, this minor inconvenience forced me into looking for a good restaurant elsewhere which I found only just around the corner from the hotel. As you walk out of the hotel's main entrance and up to the \"moto\" hire, turn left and there is a restaurant called the \"Bar Carabela\", try it, the fish paella is simply out of this world. To accompany this great meal I had a few glasses of Torres Sangre De Toro (Red Wine) which was great too, straight into a UK supermarket to buy a case when I got back.

Back to the hotel, the Formentera Playa accommodates everyone, couples, families, etc with great staff, good rooms which are kept perfectly clean, so I highly recommend. The beach is close and what a beach, take the time to walk up the shore to find a perfect spot of which there are many and you have a fantastic day at the beach. I cannot wait to book my next trip to Formentera.

The beach on the immediate shore in front of the hotel wasnt much to write home about, but there was a lovely beach about 10mins walk along the coast.

Formentera is paradise

This is a large all inclusive type hotel which stands out in Formentera as most hotels are small and boutique style. The deluxe ocean view rooms have the biggest king beds I have ever seen! And worth it for the view of a spectacular subset from your room. Fantastic breakfast, especially at the new \"South Beach\" restaurant on the beach. This hotel is better if you have kids, but if you book a deluxe ocean view room as a couple you won't be disappointed. Lots of nice restaurants nearby that you can walk to on the beach paths.

I booked this hotel based on previous reviews and i was not disappointed. Yes the hotel decor is dated but overall it was clean and comfortable. My room was clean and fresh with a king sized bed and a balcony with a sea view which was beautiful. Only downside was that the room was overlooking the entertainment arena so if you fancied an early night you were at the mercy of when the entertainment finished (about 11:30 etc) so ask for a room on the other side if you want quiet.

The area around the hotel had some small supermarkets, plenty of scooter/bike/car hire and other options to eat if you didn't want the hotel food. Knowing this now I might be inclined to book one of the self catering appartments next time.

Speaking of food - the breakfast and dinner buffets were well stocked and had fresh produce and lots of variety so never boring. Try and get a table in the evening near the big windows and you can get a spectacular view of the sunset while you eat.

I have to mention the staff were great. Each one of them spoke at least 2 languages if not more. Some of them spoke German, Italian, English and Spanish obviously.

The South Beach Club is a nice treat if you feeling like splashing the cash on a nice lunch. Very trendy and rather luxurious.

Overall a lovely experience and one that I would happily do again.

GREAT DEAL

When we arrived the reception staff promptly greeted us. We just noticed a little lack of friendliness in the relationship with customers, not a big deal though. In fact, the animation staff was always very kind and friendly with us and the others customers.

The facilities in the Hotel were always perfectly clean and tidy and even the cleaners were very friendly with the clients.

We happily discovered that breakfast was extremely various and fresh. Service was quick but not particularly impressive because was just about clearing tables and accommodating arriving customers.

We didn't have a chance to try the others meals, though.

We loved the drinks at the bar.

Overall we had a beautiful experience and we will certainly consider to spend another holiday in the Insotel facilities.

Be aware of the fact that Formentera is a very expensive place, though.

Very nice hotel - minor changes can make it great

We stayed in a Luxe room. The room was very beautiful, clearly newly renovated, spacious and clean. The balcony had an amazing view of the sea and the surrounding. Breakfast buffet was included in our stay and it had quite a decent selection. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and I'm sure everyone else would as well. There are a few minor things that I think this hotel could address in order to make it even better: 1) Wi-fi internet should be included and not charged. It is after all 2012 and internet is cheap. The worst part is they charge wi-fi per device! C'mon. 2) They charge hotel guests chairs at the beach?! 3) Breakfast ends at 10:15am. Why not until 11am, which is a normal breakfast ending time in every other hotel?

Hotel Formenteta Playa

I highly recommend if you are looking for something unique and relaxing. Beautiful resort in the rural Med Island of Formentera. You have to walk down to another beach about 5 minutes away as the hotel beach is very rough surf but Formentera is a very small island so you definitely want to explore all the beaches. Stay away the month of August as its way too crowded.

Ok, but smaller apartments for us next time

Generally good experience marred by the encounter we had with the lifeguard over the idiosyncratic towel policy. He was aggressive, rude and disrespectful. The management were apologetic, but no mention was made of what was being done to stop a repeat with someone else. Quite the most remerkable confrontation with an hotel employee anywhere in 40 yrs travelling. The introductory information was difficult to follow (towel policy) and their much vaunted All Inclusive Gold status didn't amount to much as one even had to hire a room safe!! Almost exclusively Euro guests, which was ok for us 2 travelling aussies. Formentera was lovely and have picked out the apartments we would stay next time. They will be more in keeping with the island experience than being in a big hotel like this.

lots of activities and we were the only english people

I've always wanted to go to Formantera and this was a good introduction. The bungalows were nice but very low tech so don't expect to use the stove for cooking. We were the only people from England which was interesting. It was mostly Spanish, Italian and German guests, many in family groups and all very laid back. The breakfast in the restaurant is ok but the evening meals on offer were appalling and we were glad to find a restaurant off site to frequent. There are loads of activities and a private beach so we enjoyed the morning yoga, table tennis and the pools but the highlight is snorkelling around the rockpools because the sea is clear, gentle and shallow so good for children. The staff were neither friendly or helpful kept our 5 euro deposit for the table tennis because they couldn't find any money - that left a damper on the whole experience.

I would go to this place again but I think a private villa is more suited to my needs.

Nosotros estuvimos en un estudio. No estaba mal, las camas eran cómodas y el baño correcto y el buffet de desayuno interesante. 4 cosas que no me gustaron: 1. Nos dirigimos en catalán y nadie del personal nos respondió en catalán..en un lugar donde el catalán es uno de los idiomas oficiales. Tampoco las comunicaciones en el comedor (de las mesas) y de las habitaciones estaban en catalán. 2. Tratándose de un hotel en una isla como Formentera creo que se podría potenciar más la parte de información ambiental. Ya hay algunos datos genéricos pero…la isla requiere de sus establecimientos más sensibilización ambiental. 3. Escuchábamos a los de la habitación de detrás de la nuestra. Si tienes unos vecinos tranquilos no hay problemas. 4. La taza del water es alta y sinceramente…bastante incómoda si no mides más de 1,90.

Por lo demás , correcto, piscinas, servicio de habitaciones muy atento y amable, piscinas , animación etc…

El hotel esta bien ubicado, con una amplia zona de parqueo, 2 piscinas con área para niños.
Con respecto a la habitación tenía dos camas individuales unidas que no es de mi agrado para un hotel de este nivel y en especial si va uno en pareja, los colchones no son muy buenos, el primer día nos encontramos con una Botella de Cava, no de buena calidad, pero se agradece el detalle, dos botellas de agua pequeñas, que no entiendo porque un hotel de playa ofrece solo la primera noche agua, el resto de las noches no pusieron agua.

También como bonito detalle, pusieron un fuente de frutas, pero la mayoría, le faltaba madurar, por lo que las dejamos para que madurarán y la sorpresa fue que se las llevaron el despues de la segunda noche.

Articulos de baño, mejor lleven los propios, ponen un par de jabones de barra que solo sirven para lavarse las manos, luego hay un envases que se supone es jabón , shampoo y acondiciones, en uno solo, lo cual no es bueno.

El aire acondicionado lo apagan a cierta hora de la mañana y el día de abandonar el hotel se pasa malísimo hacer maletas sin aire.

El desayuno nos toco en la terraza a la playa, bastante variado y bueno, pero todos los días es lo mismo.

Finalmente, la sillas de playa y camas de playa, hay que pagar por ellas, la sombrilla ni siquiera cubre gran cosa.

La playa no es buena, con muchas piedras, al lado hay otra playa, que es mucho mejor

Alquilamos auto por lo que las demás comidas las hicimos afuera.

Struttura molto datata e poco aggiornata, camere troppo piccole anche se superior, vista mare in realtà molto parziale e laterale, non come promesso sul sito, problemi con l’acqua in camera, alcune salviette mai cambiate in 5 gg anche se messe in vasca come richiesto, safe a pagamento (6 euro al giorno!), prima colazione non curata come in altre strutture simili ad es. Riu La Mola; personale di sala molto gentile; invece personale della reception non molto accogliente.

Preis/Leistung stimmt nicht, völlig überteuert. Vieles kostet extra, z.B. Benutzung des Safes. Auch Liegestühle und Sonnenschirme am Strand müssen jeweils einzeln zusätzlich bezahlt werden. Zimmer sind sehr klein und das Hotel ist bereits in die Jahre gekommen. Personal ist freundlich und das Essen in Ordnung. Bucht direkt beim Hotel ist schön und das Wasser kristallklar.

Não é um hotel 4 estrelas.

Hotel junto à praia, áreas comuns bem bonitas e agradáveis, café da manhã variado e bom, estacionamento grande. Mas está muito longe de ser 4 estrelas. Cama e lençóis de péssima qualidade e conforto. Todos os dias acordamos com a sensação de não ter descansado. Cama realmente muito ruim! Tinha 1 produto de higiene no banheiro que servia de shampoo e sabonete líquido. Muito caro para o que oferece. Não voltaria.

Todo bien excepto dos cosas. El wifi en a habiacion era muy malo, y la limpieza de la habiacion algunos dias tampoco estaba muy bien. La junior suite era espectacular.

Ubicación en la isla perfecta, el personal muy profesional y resolutivo ante cualquier problema, sobre todo en recepción. Las facilidades y animación del hotel muy bueno.
La vistas muy buenas y piscina y playa de lo más cómodo. Si tuviera que poner una pega sería sobre la calidad del buffet y el escaso personal trabajando en él debido al COVID. Todo muy limpio y en buenas condiciones. Somos asiduos a la isla y repetiremos seguro, eso si con niños la próxima vez.

Me gustó practicamente todo, me encantó la cama supergrande y cómoda aunque la habitación se queda un poco pequeña. Bufet desayuno casi perfecto me faltó zumo naranja recien exprimido, por lo demás perfecto.
Lo que menos me gusto los productos de aseo del baño de poca calidad y todo está destinado a los extranjeros

Este establecimiento es bastante sencillo para cuatro estrellas. No dispone de un directorio en la habitación con todos los servicios y tampoco dispone de asientos comodos, solo una banqueta.Tampoco hay portamaletas. La moqueta del pasillo con manchas. El aire acondicionado hace mucho ruido. En cuanto al buffet, puede mejorar bastante.

DECEPCIONANTE RELACIÓN CALIDAD/PRECIO

NO VALE LO QUE CUESTA
Nos alojamos en una habitación \"de lujo\" que nos resulto DECEPCIONANTE, la habitación era vieja y únicamente tenía de moderno una mano de pintura, conservando aún suelo de baldosas y paredes con gotele y camas pequeñas e incomodas.
La comida que incluía bebida, NO ACLARAN que SOLO INCLUYE vino y cerveza de una marca de muy baja calidad, lo único aceptable era el agua, lo demás había que pagarlo.
Piscina cubierta y gimnasio, bajo llave, aunque pidiendo permiso se podía acceder.
CLUB SUNSET todo de pago y a precios desorbitados: Mojito 14€, \"copa\" de sangría 9€, camas balinesas 50€..... una pena, muy bonito pero completamente vacío.
El personal, para mi gusto, demasiado simpático y poco profesional.
Nada que ver con otros Hoteles de la misma cadena.

Chambre nécessitant une rénovation, très sonore, permettant d'entendre les voisins, les personnes empruntant l'escalier, cuvette des WC dont l'émail était fissurée de façon importante.... Bref très cher pour le confort proposé..

NECESITA UNA REFORMA

Las habitaciones piden a grito una reforma si es que quiere conservar las 4 estrellas. El wifi en las habitaciones es pésimo. El desayuno bastante correcto, la limpieza de las zonas comunes muy buena. El ruido de las actuaciones es excesivo y te impide descansar.

Sobresaliente el personal de restauracion, limpieza y recepción.
El lunar, muy grave, el subdirector. Debido a una politica de forma de pago engañosa y fraudulenta, ya que no se publicita ni avisa de ninguna forma, este sujeto, me obligo a pagar TODA MI ESTANCIA DE 12 DIAS POR ADELANTADO, bajo amenaza y coaccion de no alojarme y perder el pago de la primera noche en concepto de reserva, con el pretexto de ser una estancia muy cara y TEMER QUE ME FUERA DEL HOTEL SIN PAGAR.
Sin perjuicio de lo anterior, un alojamiento es muy caro para lo que se ofrece. La calidad del buffet, en desayuno y cena es muy justita y muy mejorable por el precio que se paga. La sala de maquinas funciona perfectamente, como un reloj; el puente de mando lo gobierna un incompetente, grosero y ofensivo.

Me gustó la atención del personal. Excepcional.
No me gustó la relación calidad precio de la habitación en general, ya que tenia la pica rota, la baja calidad de insonorización, el poco espacio teniendo en cuenta que era una habitación triple. Por otro lado encontré excesivo el precio de muchas consumiciones.

La isla

Bella struttura situata sul mare. Le stanze sutuate nei bungalow erano un po’ numerose. Ottima colazione! Intrattenimento per bambini. Peccato però far pagare i lettini in spiaggia, dovrebbero essere compresi nel prezzo visto il costo del soggiorno.

Bello ma si può migliorare

Villaggio molto bello e curato. Colazione e cena molto curata , attenti anche al glutine per la mia ragazza che ne è intollerante. Pasta senza glutine , pane e altre cose della shaar.
Alcune pecche , donne delle pulizie non molto socievoli, e la pulizia della camera si vedeva che era stata fatta un maniera sbrigativa, senza nemmeno il ricambio di bagnoschiuma. Per quello che si paga , mi sarei aspettato quel qualcosa più. L assurdità poi di dover pagare gli ombrelloni anche nella spiaggia dell hotel. A prezzi modici naturalmente, però comunque dovevano essere pagati.
Nel complesso ci tornerei, però ecco alcune cose da migliorare per il costo che ha questa struttura.

Es un hotel muy confortable, cerca de todos los sitios que nos gustan de Formentera, el personal es super amable y muy bien predispuesto.
El desayuno en el beach club formidable.
Es un gran detalle que luego de hacer el check out puedas utilizar las instalaciones, y te faciliten toallas para ducharte.
Cada año volvemos!!

Отель хороший . расположение хорошее . Но есть одна специфика , если вы с детьми , то Вам однозначно сюда . Мы были вдвоём , поэтому вид на бассейн и детская суета , нам не особо понравилась . Мы попросили нам поменять комнату , и нам прошли на встречу . Большое спасибо персоналу . Вид замечательный на море , тихо!!!! Завтрак хороший , убирали хорошо !!! Вообщем одни положительные эмоции )
