The hotel is a great base for travellers looking to explore the western Galilee region with its beautiful landscape, Rosh Hanikra and Acre. It is located in a quiet area, 200 m from the Mediterranean seashore and within walking distance from the centre of the lovely and lively city of Nahariya.
With many attractive restaurants, cafés and shops, the well known pedestrian zone on the seashore, Promenade of Nahariya, is just a short walk from the hotel. Ben Gurion International Airport is some 150 km from the establishment.
Founded in 1960 as a traditional family inn, this 26-room establishment later became well known as one of the best small hotels on Israel's northern seashore. Guests are invited to enjoy a tranquil atmosphere along with personal care, as well as discounts to many tourist attractions and restaurants.

I booked a room for two at the Ramta Hotel to visit a friend of mine and was not allowed to go up to the room but only to the open and open area of the hotel, it was sad I left the hotel reluctantly and moved to another hotel without any problem, I sent an email to the hotel. Because of the humiliating attitude of staying away from the Starkman Hotel in Nahariya and not staying there.

When booked room, I was unaware of room's size. Room was small, which was ok, but bed was too short for me (I am tall), so I had to sleep diagonally.. I did not request for another room because I was too tired. Service in general was excellent; large variety for breakfast buffet. Re parking- you need to search for it by yourself, as there is no orginized parking close by. If there is an event at the hotel, you may need to park further away.

Our stay at the Erna was decent. The room is small but comfortable and the staff was very accommodating. It is not a typical full service hotel but more of a bed and breakfast. The breakfast was well prepared and fresh. The shower smelled a little of mold and tended to flood the floor because the floor wasn't properly sloped towards the drain.

\"A touch of Europe in Nahariya\"
My wife and I stayed for three nights. The hotel is small, old-style European (Edith Piaf muzak...) with the third generation of owners behind the counter. It is a couple of blocks from the beach (pay 10 shekel to get into the private beach or walk down a block to the free beach.) The rooms are small- like NYC hotel rooms, and they are not generous with room towels. The staff is very attentive. Park on the street with no problem. Walking to the beach you pass the Madison, which is about the same price - 7 (?) story modern, glitzy. I think I prefer the Shtarkman for relaxation, but perhaps the Madison if I'm in town for business.

Quiet Comfortable Wonderful
I was there on business for a very long stay (18 nights) and they were wonderful. It is a small family run place and they are very attentive to your needs. While the hotel is a bit of a walk from the main street (Gaaton), I enjoyed the walk and it helped me see the local sites. I had stayed here once before and it was amazing then. It was even better this time. Can't recommend it enough.

We were very satisfied with this hotel. It was clean and comfortable. It's within walking distance from the center of town, but more than a few blocks. It's also close to the promenade by the beach. Breakfast was plentiful and fresh. We'd return.

great little place in nahariya
nahariya is a wonderful little israeli beach town and the shtarkman erna was a wonderful place to spend the weekend. there is no pool and it's a bit of a walk to the free beach, but the pay beach is just two blocks away. food and stores were a 15 minute walk away. the breakfast was wonderful, the staff was pleasant, and the place was clean and very comfortable.
