An amazing little gem!

A big \"thank you\" to Miguel, a wonderful reception host, for taking the time to checking us in & showing us around this beautiful old home, C17th, and giving us an insight to the amazing history of the building and its treasured artifacts as well as some local history. A truly wonderful place to stay over.
The hotel is centrally located with plenty of bars/restaurants within a few minutes walk.The beds/linen were so comfortable could have slept in with ease! Breakfast Al Fresco in the tranquil courtyard garden with pool. So relaxing, just a pity we could only stay for the one night.

This hotel is like home away from home. It is Andalusian hacienda style and is uniquely decorated. The bedrooms are roomy, air conditioned and clean but on the ground floor they are a little dark. The beds are comfortable. It has a small pool. The service is good, as is the breakfast and coffee. The drinks from the bar are inexpensive. The staff are friendly and helpful, and can speak basic English. Osuna has many bars, restaurants and ice cream shops all easily reached from the hotel and some historic points of interest. It is centrally located about an hour from Sevilla and Cordoba by motorway. We enjoyed our stay and would return again.

I made a mistake in booking this hotel, it's in Osuna, not Sevilla. They would not refund or cancel the reservation despite me trying within 2 hours of booking. The front desk staff isn't exactly friendly, spoke little English (I don't speak Spanish, so I really can't fault that!!), so finding places was difficult. I walked from the train station late at night because they would not call a cab for me, for instance. Breakfast was yummy except no one to help you--no coffee until I went to front desk to ask for some, plastic on all the food so I had to unwrap while the staff member chatted with a friend right there in the room. **I liked the venue, disliked the staff.** The first night was very loud due to a large party in the restaurant. My room was very nice, and the place is conveniently located, as I walked the entire city.

The Hotel was amazing and full of traditional character. The staff were really helpful and nothing was too ever too much for them. The Hotel was perfectly positioned in Osuna and was very close to the restaurants, shops and historic sights. Our only disappointment was that it was so far away from the centre of Seville and we ended up having to hire a car to get around. This was something we hadn't anticipated! Other than that we had the perfect break.👍

This is a charming hotel. Rooms are large and comfortable. This is not a modern hotel. Bath fixtures are old fashioned. Staff was helpful and their English was excellent.

Wouldn't know!!

This hotel is over 100€ to get there by taxi, and that would mean over 100€ back to site see. Then again for the airport. It was cheaper for me to book another hotel in downtown Seville than stay in this hotel. It's a real shame the pictures looked nice. Expedia I am very disappointed with you. This is not the first problem I've had on this journey and you haven't helped me at all.

Charming, but not without a few problems.

The one, and really only, bad thing about this hotel, in a centuries-old palacial building, was the nearly overpowering sewer odor that arose from the bathroom drains whenever the toilet was flushed or the sinks were used, at least in our room. Also, our room, though spacious, was dark and badly lit.

The town is small and there is not a lot to see in the town but there are some local walks. The people are friendly and most bars and restaurants have menus in English but not all speak English so it is beneficial if visitors speak at least a little Spanish

A wonderful surprise awaits

This is a well maintained hotel with old and new features throughout. The room was spacious and the bathroom was great and much needed following our exhaustive day. The restaurant dinner featured local cuisine, which was well prepared and enjoyed along with a bottle of wine. The next morning was an early start and the staff were accommodating allowing us access to breakfast before the start time.
A great place to stop and refresh.

Lovely hotel, dates back to 16th century, lots of lovely features. Staff friendly and efficient, provided a map of the town and explained the areas of interest. Breakfast was continental buffet style, good selection on offer. We enjoyed our brief stay and would use the hotel again.

Historic Hotel

Beautiful hotel with large comfortable rooms. It was within walking distance of all the main sites and restaurants. The staff was very helpful. I had a problem in getting a taxi to the train station and the owner said she would drive me if necessary. She was able to find an available taxi. I enjoyed my stay at La Casona de Calderón.

Excellent front office staff - even -emailed brochures of local attractions upon booking. Very attractive boutique hotel - traditional house with inner courtyard & cultural exhibits. Comfortable & well-appointed. Four-poster bed, sufficient wardrobe/cupboard space, \"portable\" safe in room, small TV, large pretty bathroom w/ basic toiletries, hair drier, bidet, bath/shower. Small pool in outer courtyard.

How a hotel should be,

When we arrived we were given a police escort to the hotel !! This was because we tried to find the hotel without a local map and the maps app on the mobile would not run (mobile provider issue, not general). We were greeted warmly by the proprietor and staff. Our use of a phrase book helped and the Owner (Elena) spoke fluent English and ensured that checking in was easy. The room was comfortable and facilities excellent (exactly as we wanted). When I notified Elena that we were there for our honeymoon, she asked if I would like champagne and rose petals in the room. I responded that would be fantastic, however this was done as a courtesy from her (and the hotel) and she insisted that there was no payment required. A truly wonderful gesture.
From the point of view for information to explore not just the town but driving to different destinations we were given excellent details and a splendid choice of restaurants (and Tapas) and cafes to try. The ones we got to go to were very good.
If you are looking for a lazy beach/pool/hectic type of holiday this is not for you. If you are looking to explore the 'real' Andaelucia and willing to try to communicate with the people and see different types of destinations this is the place to stay.

Perfect rural hotel in great location

The location of the hotel is perfect: about an hour drive to Malaga, Cordoba and Granada.

The hotel itself is very nicely designed with lots of historic artifacts from the local area. The room was great and the service impeccable. Highly recommended!

An absolute gem

This is a fascinating hotel converted by the current manager from her Grandmother's house. The decor is excellent and the hotel has lots of memorabilia and recent artworks which help tell the story of the house, the town and the area. For example ask about the two front doors from the old building - one for the animals and one for the humans. Or ask about the hole in the floor and the link to the Civil War.

The staff could not have been more friendly or helpful. We would go back there tomorrow.

Excellent location, needs tweaking

Great building, easy free parking, spacious room, great for a little dog for which they provided a sleeping basket and water bowl, nice views of the pool, good WiFi and excellent location. Recommend the bar opposite of the place; lovely sandwiches and outstanding service especially by the night barman.

However, the service was very slow; checking in was like we were the first guests ever (we were not), it was all super awkward (we speak Spanish); they were less than smiling throughout the ordeal so it felt more like crossing the border then checking into a hotel. The room was big, but the beds were strangely uncomfortable and the shower, well, let’s say one of us tried it and then we just decided to shower in the next location.

The breakfast was the same interesting experience as checking in; hectic, slow and weirdly unorganised with everyone standing in a crowd around the service and people being helped in a almost glacial manner because of it. Nice coffee and bread though.

I would say if they get lessons in service and speed from the night barman from across the street and update the shower and beds, they would be a 5/5 easily: such a nice building and location!

Very nice and classic style hotel with very beautiful areas both indoor and outdoor. Really nice to stay there. Very helpful and nice receptionist that told me everything I wanted to know about the place and its historical background. The only minor drawback was a sense of humidity from the old walls in the room! Else a perfect stay that I can recommend 😀👍
