The hotel was in a great spot right by the ocean and super easy to get to. But the service was a letdown. We spent ages trying to find a transact to sit at, and if you wanted a spot by the pool, you had to get up early. We checked in around 3:30 PM, but our room didn’t have any towels. When we called room service, they said they’d bring some over soon. But we ended up waiting until 11 PM to finally get them!

Beyond disappointed. Please listen to the other bad reviews. No way this is a 5 star hotel other than the little sign out front. Check in is at 3pm we showed up at 5pm and waited another 30 mins for the room to be ready (still wasn’t when we showed up) $750 USD for a two night stay in the “ocean suite” which was a glorified basic room at best. Old fuzzy tv, wifi didn’t work at all called down to the front desk and got hung up on after asking about it, asked other staff and they couldn’t get it to work. Private beach is small section that’s connected to the hotel but the view to the water is covered by the thousand plus locals that took up almost 90% of the beach (see there photos it shows no one must have taken the pics during Covid) no privacy at all my wife is a hijabi and we kept the blinds closed most of the time because people are constantly walking by the back of the room. Food was decent selection was limited. Even if it was 1000 durhams a night I wouldn’t go back. Feel completely scammed and catfished. For what we spent I should’ve gone to the ritz Carlton in Rabat

WiFi did not work in my room for the full 12 day stay. Asked multiple times to have it fixed or moved rooms neither happened. Even had hotels.com contact the hotel and they said no.

The “spa” on location actually costs money which is not advertised. This comes to a crazy fee of 30 euro for jacuzzi and sauna.

Hotel has only re-opened after a long closure, they have a long way to go

We are repeat visitors and were disappointed in a few things. We checked in to find no towels in the room, only a bath towel. There was no hair dryer, The man had to come and install it, literally, in the wall. Clearly it’s off season as I don’t think there was more than 4 rooms taken. Both were rectified quickly when we called. It’s better to stay there in season in my opinion.

We needed a few days to rest up from a fun but exhausting visit to Mauritania. L’amphitrite was the perfect place. It was the slow season so we got to enjoy the staff and had a super Spa Day. The food is excellent and the pool looked great (it was a little cold and rainy when we were there).

After a 20 hrs journey from LA, we were greeted by a rude and unprofessional customer relations lady who made the start of our stay a welcome from hell. We are usually greeted in other hotels in Morocco with a tour of the facilities, a cup of tea, local pastries and warm smiles, but no such luck at L’amphitrite. All we wanted is a shower and a bed to get some sleep but the check in process was arduous.

She handled the situation very badly, and refused to let us bring in bottled water to make baby formula for our baby daughter!

Apparently this hotel has some ridiculous rules regarding outside food and water. You are not allowed to bring in bottled water into the hotel from outside, baby or not!! They want you to buy their bottled water at the hotel. To me this is simply a scam as I have never experienced this in any other hotel. We were told that people abuse the system and bring in food from outside to their room, I thought I came form a different planet listening to her speak! People have the right to do whatever they want in their room, as long as it is

A perfect hotel for a beach holiday but rather out of the way if you want to see more of the country. It is perfect for a family beach holiday with lovely pools. That said, the hotel do provide a daily shuttle, upon request, into the capital, Rabat (approx, 40 min journey). We did not find much in the way of other restaurants locally. There are three and a cafe in the hotel. Without exception, the hotel staff were excellent. They are truly welcoming and helpful. The concierge , who speaks very good English, (some staff speak English but French is the second language of most) was especially helpful. He arranged a fabulous visit to Fes for us - taking care of all the details even down to providing us with water for the journey.

The is a nice hotel with a beautiful pool and nice rooms. Definitely the nicest place we saw in Skhirat. If only the management were up to the standards of the facilities. The concierge in particular was no help. We inquired about getting a driver to take us into Rabat for a half-day tour and were quoted a ridiculous rate. Then, when we wanted to hire a car to take us to the train station in Casablanca, we kept getting quoted different rates until we realized he was trying to stick us with the hotel's luxury car service. When he wasn't around, which was often, the front desk staff had no clue how to help us.

Classical, Comfortable, Tranquil Beach Resort

I enjoyed my stay at the hotel overall. It is a pleasant and well managed hotel, although showing some signs of ageing and perhaps a lack of investment, however, these were not deal breakers for me. The place is quiet, with options for activities in and around the hotel, however, this is not an activity centric trip. There is golf, jet skiing, a spa, and an activity centre (featuring equestrian, paint ball and other activities), beyond the pool and beach. For what we wanted - total chill out - it was perfect, but if you want more to dos, this wouldn't be top of my list.

It is on the pricey side, the restaurants on site are not cheap, and the quality is mixed - the Moroccan restaurant and Seafood restaurants are both pleasant, the Italian, is not great. Everywhere in the resorts the basics are expensive, i.e. water, and despite that you are not allowed to bring food or drink into the hotel, I smuggled some well-priced bottles of water in from the local store.

We were there about 5 days, which is about the right amount of time, by the end I needed some more variety, but it was a delightful stay, wonderful to enjoy the sea and the sunshine!

Front desk and management was very unfriendly. My wife came to meet me at the lobby and was told by the manager that she would have to pay $50 to use the pool facility. I found it horrible to tell my guests to not visit me at the hotel unless they are willing to pay $50 to just come and visit me and have a drink by the pool side with me. Very inhospitable and unfriendly indeed. My room was spacious, clean and upto a 5star standard. Overall, staff was very courteous except for the front desk and management.

First of all I wanna thank Every one who works in this beautiful hotel .

The beginning was when I first got there .
I met a lady who is working at the front disk.
She was so professional and fast , took me 5 min to chk in and be in my room .
Every thing was so professional .

I loved the resort right on the beach , every thing was there , restaurant, swimming pool , spa . Friendly staff with big welcoming smile .

After I went to my room took a shower and went down to the lobby , the 2nd shift was starting .
I met ameen who is a front disk receptionist . He upgrad me to the 2nd floor instead of the 1st floor so I can get the beach and garden view . So nice and welcoming person . So professional.

In the night shift I met 2 wonderful staff
Hisham who works at the front disk receptionist , very professional And become a friend .
We had tea and chatted every night .
Also there was the concierge Abderrahm , a very very professional and nice person with a big smile on his face each time I walk into the lobby in night .

Let me say this
I wanna thank Every one from the staff all of them in all the shifts ladies or men .
I would give them a 10 stars not 5 only .
Everyone was professional they know exactly were they doing and it’s the customer satisfaction And I well come back for sure to the same hotel and the awesome professional greatest staff I have ever seen .

We had a lovely time at this hotel. The hotel is situated in beautiful grounds right on the beach with a stunning infinity pool looking onto the sea. The most impressive thing about the hotel was the staff. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Although we did have a few issues at the hotel, it was the hotel's staff ability to deal with these issues effectively which was very impressive. One issue we had was there was an issue with the hot water in the room. The maintenance people acted straight away to resolve it, and the hotel manager personally came up to the room to apologise for the inconvenience which was a nice touch. That evening we went down to the hotel Moroccan restaurant which does amazing food, and to our surprise, when we asked for the bill, we were told it was on the hotel which again was a really nice touch. After this, we went to the hotel sports bar for drinks and my girlfriend ordered desert. When we asked for the bill, they informed us that the desert was on the house which we really appreciated. One of the nicest experiences of our stay was the gentleman who works in the gym. We used the gym everyday, and whilst on the treadmill, he would bring over a bottle of water for my girlfriend and I and simply place it on the machine and leave us be. He also set up the table tennis table for us. Sometimes, when on holiday you want staff to be helpful but not over bearing and I thought he got it absolutely perfect. Thank you to everyone at the hotel.

Many people say the hotel is in the middle of nowhere. For us the hotel resort was a paradise! We were there for 4 days to relax and unwind, charge our batteries and this is the place to do it!
The staff is remarkable, the reception and concierge and restaurant and everyone were courteous, friendly and helpfull beyond the call of duty. We highly recommend it.

The sound of silence and the gardens, the beach, the room, everything was perfect, romantic and even to bring children.

Although a bit cold and windy i imagine that in spring or summer this resort, which is next to the royal palace will be busy with guests and children and it is very secured.

Rabat is just 20 min by car and the hotel will transfer you in their free shuttle, just book it 24 hrs before. The hotel bureau the change is also better value than in the airport.

Casablanca and the casablanca airport is about an hour away, the hotel sent a car to collect us, which costs the same that a taxi, and it is more secure, the cost under 60 pounds, each way, however it may be worth casablanca that igoing to rabat airport, check your airfares add the taxi and compare. For us the difference was 500punds per person more to rabat that casablanca, so it was no brainer to choose casablanca.

In overall hotel clean, staff good, food good, locayion good....if you want a break and enjoy few days, this is the place to be and discover morocco.... The beach is wonderful ....i can't wait until summer to return .....

Food poising twice in 1 week !!

I am trying to be objective but the hotel is rated as 5 * unfortunately it fell quite short of that estimate.
Especially considering the money spent on a B&B basis. The price of food is excessive for what it is.

The crust of my bad feeling is not just that my friend, her kids and I all got food poising. That can happen. It was the lack of empathy.

A complete lack of understanding, lack of help and poor level of customer service by the hotel management.
When we complained further, we were introduced to the hotel director. Unfortunately, he seemed to have missed the lessons regarding customer service. His nonchalant attitude to our plight was extremely perplexing.

I have never experienced such a poor customer service from someone in that level of responsibility or position.

Felt unwelcomed from the moment of our arrival to the day we left, 5 nights later. Unprofessional service if we received any. Occasional service as it should have been not the norm. A real shame as beautiful beach, outlook and pool but food and service poor. Huge levels of security - constantly surrounded by armed forces, security, people in uniforms or suits - not a relaxed holiday feeling at all. Could not wait to leave. Also, nowhere nice to walk to outside hotel. Horrible.

This is a stunningly unique hotel. I stayed here with my wife and our 3 year old daughter. We all enjoyed ourselves with the biggest highlights being the pool, the beach and Spa. the hotel does aspire to offer 5 star quality, which you can certainly feel all around. It has the facilities to offer any guest a luxury experience. I have enjoyed it so much that I will definitely go back, but it is worth noting that the British traveller will notice a few drawbacks. All staff members do their best to serve you, but some are not well trained and this becomes very clear when you notice new waiters getting trained while serving you an expensive lunch and security guys being rude while believing they are 'just doing their job'. At checkout, the lady was pleasant enough, but a simple question of how was your stay or did you enjoy your stay, would have made things much better. You will notice a few niggly issues like this, but don't let me put you off. This hotel is a piece of paradise, and you will definitely have a great time!

I was here to visit my daughter who works for an International Agriculture Company who are one of the largest distributors of tomatoes throughout Europe and Russia. This is my 5th time to Morocco. Although this Hotel has impressive setting the room was on a flat community terrace (I booked an Ocean Suite). There were people in front of your sliding glass door constantly. There was no privacy at all. There was no air conditioning. The breakfast was chaotic and they ran out of food. I did not sleep as I was concerned about someone breaking through the sliding glass door. It was noisy and the only way to cool off the room was to have the front door and the sliding door to the patio opened where people would look into your room and say hello. Horrible..... The only redeeming factor was that the staff was attentive. I would not stay here again. This is terrible since it is down the road to my daughter's beach house. But thankfully she is coming home to the fabulous USA for graduate school.

Not a 5 star hotel! Be aware!

This is not a five star hotel for sure. The hotel is very outdated and nasty. I was very disappointed. Upon arrival, I waited for an hour for check in. Then, I was given a room that is dirty, full of dust, and most of all mold. The room had a strong smell of mold. Due to my health concerns, I couldn't stay there. So, I asked the staff to change it. One of the staff said that all the rooms smell like that because of the ocean. I've been to so many hotels by the beach and none of them smelled like mold, specifically if they claim to be five stars. I checked three other rooms with the staff and they all had that horrible dusty moldy smell. So, finally one of the staff members whispered to me and asked me to tell reservation to give us a room on the opposite side of where we are looking at because it's cleaner. I was shocked, but I did ask. And I told them I wanted to leave because I couldn't take that anymore. Finally, I was given a room on that other side. The room was not moldy but definitely full of dust. As it was really late in the evening, I took that room, but I will never go back there again. This hotel might have had a reputation years ago, but now it looks and feels like a motel project gone really bad. Next time, I'm in Rabat I'd rather stay in a Sofitel or somewhere classy for the same price than this trashy hole.

Has an Ocean view room, beautiful view amazing beach- that is it!! Yellow water coming out of taps, horrible odors coming out from time to time in bathrooms, no internet for 5 days out of 8.
Hind at the reception needs to embark on a long training program on hospitality service, staff at management level are ok but not on lower levels, i had to use my own internet and phone to conduct my business- my phone bill when I got back was huge!! You Expedia advertised free WIFI in the hotel which was not the case, for the price you charged I expected 5* service- THAT WAS NO 5 star hotel, very disappointing apart from the beach.

Air conditioning was not working in the room and I asked many times for it to be fixed or to be moved to another room; was told hotel was full and therefore could not be accommodated and a/c was never repaired. Also had issues with the shower controls which were also never fixed despite many requests! I do note recommend this hotel and will report same to Trip Advisor

Highly overpriced hotel

Even after the 50% special Expedia discount we paid a serious amount of money for our stay only to learn while staying there that we should have booked directly with the hotel for another discount on the rate.
Even than it probably wasn't worth it due to the fairly poor maintenance situation of the hotel. In addition there were many 'poor service' situations.

An accessible getaway from Rabat

I went during Eid and didn't have trouble booking a room. The beach, gym, pool, snack bar, restaurant, and breakfast buffet were all just steps away from my garden view room (which actually looked out onto a patio). The gym was clean and had a good complement of cardio, machines, and enough free weights for a decent workout. The staff were friendly but not in your face. The markup on meals and additional services and amenities was fairly steep; e.g., it was easy to get a taxi to/from the train station for 5 dirhams; ordering one from the concierge was 10 times more.

Monopoly

I have two things worth mentioning so you manage your expectation before your arrival.
First, we brought lunch from outside to the hotel. The security staff, Adil informed us that it is not allowed. We apologized and asked him to allow us to take it to our room 150 and he can inform his boss to meet us at the room if he needs to discuss this further. We walked and few second later, he followed us and blocked the left so we can't get in!! We managed to get in when the door open and he got in too. Then he blocked the left and used it as prison and kept us inside for more than 15 min. We explained that he should know better and never use the left as a jail for his guests. He also should understand that we respect the hotel policy and we wouldn't bring our lunch if we know about their policy. We could hide it if we were sneaky specially that there are so many entry doors and halls. We said that he is respected for enforcing his policy but the problem is the way of enforcing his policy. We said, you should speak with your boss to meet us at our room to avoid any embarrassment and awkward moments in front of the other guests to protect his hotel image. With all that being said he was very rude, unprofessional and stupid. His boss came and wasn't surprise. Assad, Adil's boss, was weak enough to ask him to apologies without asking him to do so. Adil refused his boss suggestion to apologies and we were allowed to eat our lunch which we couldn't eat after this drama.

Second situation was with the front desk staff, Aziza. Before checking out, I met with her mentioning two things: 1- they forgot to add my second night. 2- they add one breakfast which was included. I started with number 2 (removing the breakfast). So she gave me a bad look and said it is not included without any hesitation. Then I showed her my booking so she fixed it without saying sorry. Instead, she was angry at me. After adding the second night, I thought she will say thank you for my honesty but she didn't. When I said \"thank you\" before leaving her desk going to the airport, she decided not to respond!! What a rude staff!! Nothing I have to explain her poor attitude except the lack in management in this monopoly hotel.
With all of this, I recommend this monopoly hotel as it is the only 5 stars hotel in Skhirat.

Lovely hotel, with beach, nice and clean,

Enjoyed our stay very much, staff are lovely beautiful surroundings, my teenage children loved it too. Not much variaty with food and too pricey for what it is. but not an issue for us, we enjoyed eating at the local cafés anyway. I just wish the hotel had things to do on the beach e.g boat rides or para sailing. Then it would be perfect.
My advice is for food, go down the road to the local cafés .
We really did enjoy the hotel though.

Awful stay

Nightmare stay: Difficulties at the check in which took 45 minutes, because of a reservation amendment (regularly made through Hotels.com). The majority of the staff was generally unhelpful, the facilities were sub-standard for a 5* hotel, the heated pool was not working on the day we arrived, and we were told it would work the following day, which it did not. The room was cold and there was no way to reduce the air conditioning. On top of that, we ate at the Moroccan restaurant of the hotel on the last night and were poisoned, which made the following 48 hours (including the trip back to London) a true nightmare. For these and several other problems we encountered, no apology or anything else was offered. In short: DO NOT STAY HERE.

The hotel is excellent in a very beautiful locatio

Everything was excellent , I really did enjoy my trip . But I wasn't happy with Air France because they charged me £25 for my 1piece baggage at my departure from London . I was told zero baggage allowance which is I didn't know . Also when I took the flight connection from Paris the passengers on the same flight told me that they had 23 kg baggage allowance free . Expedia is the best travel agent for me.

Beach - and not much else

This is probably a good hotel if all you want to do is hang out on the beach. But as a business hotel, it stinks. The wifi is awful and only works in the lobby (and that too at very slow speeds). Half the speed dials on the phone do not work and bump you to the front desk regardless of where you've called. I was told that someone would deliver a cable to my room so that I could access the internet - which was never done. The location makes it very limiting - Rabat is a good 30 minutes away (if there is no traffic) - and there are few choices for dining other than the hotel itself, whose prices are outrageously expensive - much higher than in a much better hotel in Rabat.

Dirty water

It's a beautiful hotel, with a nice swimming pool. But the service of some employees was terrible. I waited from 11 am until 5 pm to get a room, but that's not everything. The water that was coming out the shower was yellow/orange and they didn't warn me about it and did nothing to fix it when i confronted them about it. I am very disappointed about the way they treated me, it is not something you expect from a 5 star hotel.

Only one restaurant was open at any time during my stay, so the food choice was reduced from that advertised. The rooms were well furnished and well maintained. There was an occasional whiff of a bad drain smell in the bathroom that some bleach should cure. Food quality was ok although over priced compared to Rabat. Friendly enough staff. Mini bar prices extortionate at 30 MAD for a fizzy drink combined with 40 MAD for the same in the bar. Far too high.

Great location.

The hotel is beautiful. Love the pool and the lounge chairs over looking the water. The room spelled like humidity, but considering the location that didn't bother us too much. We had a lovely stay until 30minutes before leaving a staff member told me a had to move from the lounge chair I was sitting in. Apparently the section I was in was reserved for the special rooms behind it. I was offended and embarrassed. If this is a 5 star hotel, that didn't certainly feel like that was 5star treatment.

There is no such thing as service.

If you need something, regardless of where on the hotel grounds ( restaurant, pool, room, reception, SPA..) be ready to ask at least 3 times and wait for hours on end. Understaffed, service is lackluster, smoking and non-smoking rooms are mixed, unless you get the bottom level rooms since they smell of humidity instead of cigarettes. An all in all very bad experience of a supposedly \"luxury\" spot.

L'amphitrite Hotel overpriced and not recommended

Hotel is priced as a top of the the line hotel. The quality and service is not close to this. You could stay at hotels priced half as much for a cleaner and better hotel. The room smelled and all the other rooms were the same. They did not have the amenities that was advertised. Ended up checking out early (and losing one nights paid stay).
