We stayed at the Intercontinental hotel for two nights. The hotel grounds are very impressive and the staff is highly trained and speak very good English. We didn't use any of the facilities, but we did enjoy the great breakfast.

The hotel is located on the edge of Lijiang's old town. So while it's quite touristy, it's not as crowded as the centeral area.

So why only 4 stars? Here's the thing, we asked the hotel for a large taxi, fitting for four people and four large suitcases. The destination was Shaxi, about a 2 hours drive. They wanted 1,600 RMB for the trip. Why? Dunno. Because it's an expensive hotel, maybe. But I'd expect a hotel with Chinese speaking locals to help us get the best deal possible, not rip us off. How do I know it was a rip off? I texted a random driver with a van on wechat and got the same ride for 700 Yuan. That was also way too steep (the hotel owner in Shaxi explained it should cost 400-500).

The experience left a bad taste on my mouth. I'd recommend staying at a cheaper, less 'luxurious' hotel, where you're not just a walking wallet to them.

What a wonderful experience at this hotel. We are traveling with young kids and the lovely staff went above and beyond to help in making our stay in Lijiang more memorable. Definitely recommended this hotel and special thanks to the Concierge staff, Aller Bai for his outstanding service to my family.

a nice hotel with good location. but it does not match up the level of its competitors. not really good services. 服务在丽江算比较差的，住了两家好的，这家真的就基本没服务。第二天我要去爬山半夜看到说要准备一个口罩，可能会扬尘，然后我早上等车的时候问了前台，前台头都没抬，说我们不停供。问题是他们前台自己都有人带着口罩。不提供也没关系，但是态度是真的不好。酒店的位置和硬件都算不错的，但是服务真的是拉胯

We liked the location, it is very close to the old town. We also liked the breakfast buffet and sitting at the bar looking out at the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. The waiter at the bar, Will Wang, and his helper were great. We did not like our room. It felt dark and dated.

Excellent location for families with young children adjacent to the Ancient Town with direct access gates. Nice pool and children’s indoor playground. Executive room can easily sleep four with no added extra bed - one on the couch and three in the bed.

Smell of cigarettes in the bedroom.

We booked and was assigned a non-smoking room. However the bathroom area has VERY strong cigarette odor that permeates to the rest of the room it was giving me headache. We stayed in 3 hotels during our trip to the northern part of Yunnan. This was the most expensive establishment but the worse smelling one out of the 3.

Overall, this is a great hotel, a 5* experience. However, there is always room to grow. Power sockets in rooms are too old they can't handle adaptor. Staff in the restaurant can't tell difference between red and white wine glasses. When I was in the bar, I wanted to order in-room dining to the bar, but staff did not know there was such a possibility and could not assist me in that. I managed to order after all, but some training should be done. The breakfast selection was very good, although orange juice ran out too fast every day!

Hotel is the only 5 stars hotel right in the Old Ancient Town which was the key reason of us booking to stay there. Resort is beautiful with hotel room spread out in various building. Despite of paid for four rooms via Expedia to the hotel six months in advance in full, our rooms were spread out to different units. Our special request of staying close and non smoking room were completely ignored due to very poor arrangement by the reservation desk. It was a terrible experience to star our trip in Lijiang. Besides this , the hotel room and property is in par with five stars hotel.

The hotel building and the location were excellent! Room was spacious and clean. Breakfast variety was huge but average quality and refill was not fast enough. Service at breakfast restaurant was bad - interrogated at the entrance for your room number, nobody to help seat, very dirty table and floor. Concierge not helpful in providing restaurant recommendations.

The resort is beautiful, a mini old town in itself, and very conveniently located at the fringe of Lijiang old town. There is also a great view of the snow mountain from the hotel lobby. Facilities and furnishings are very good, and staff were very patient and helpful in assisting to plan our trip to the snow mountain. Highly recommended!

I booked to stay in this hotel by customers reviews in this app. Although the price to stay is on the higher side, but I think it's worth. The location is right in the center of the ancient town. However, this is a little crowded. If you don't mind the crowd. But if you are strictly for peace of mind, relaxing holiday than you better pick a hotel out of this location. The customer service in this hotel was great and food was good too.

Fantastic hotel with excellent service, amenities and ideal location. Architecture is stunning, old world with current amenities. Easy access to the Ancient City from the rear gate of the property. Christmas is a wonderful time to visit. They had a fun family friend Christmas dinner and party. Can't say enough great things about The InterContinental in Lijiang.

The hotel is a gem! My family loved the rooms and the hotel in general. It's decor/theme beautifully blended Lijiang's feel with modernity. Situated next to Liang's Old Town was the best. We spent hours walking around and when we were done, the hotel was so close.

We loved the design and architecture of the hotel and found our room to be very spacious and beautifully constructed. Excellent service, provides buggy service right to the room block doorstep. Really pampered from walking. Room is spacious and clean. Beds are comfortable. Pillows are too flat though and carpeting needs changing, the colour and condition looks dated. Ideal location next to Lijiang old town. Overall, a fantastic hotel.

Great location and design

The hotel is well-situation at the southern gate of Lijiang Old Town, close enough to where the best restaurants are located and it takes just a few more minutes to go into the heart of the Old Town (where I would avoid as the crowds of tourists have mostly ruined the place). It's nice though strolling around the neighbourhood closer to the hotel. The hotel itself is decorated in local ethic minority style and all rooms are located in separate 2-storey villas, which added much tranquility to my trip.

One out of the box!

This is a very beautiful and unusual hotel. It is more like a luxury village resort. Spread over a large area of landscaped gardens with mini lakes and water features it fits perfectly into the ancient and historic town of Lijiang. It is quiet, peaceful and charming We were impressed by all aspects of the service including the excellent, fresh breakfast pack prepared for our early flight back to Australia.

Wonderful stay in a charming town. Glad to see western plumbing. Lijiang ancient town is accessible through a not so charming back entrance. Worth the price if value a htoel where the staff have gone to hotel school, unlike the rest of Chinese hotels, especially outside the big cities.

Great hotel in Lijiang

The hotel is situated right next to the main tourist attraction in Lijiang, the Old Town. It feels like you are right inside the Old Town but with the 5-star convenience and comfort offered by the hotel. There is a backdoor that links the hotel directly into the Old Town, super convenient.

We loved this hotel

We arrived after dark from the airport, it looked kind of strange at night, but in the mornings light, we were amazed at the beauty of this hotel. The care and artistry which went into the architecture and the plantings around the villas is evident and you know that you are in a place that cares about aesthetics. We loved this place, kudos to Charley the concierge, who went out of his way to insure our stay was great and helped us make several train reservations. The best part is the view of Snow Lion Mountain from the floor to ceiling window in the lobby. It's breathtaking. Don't miss a trip up to the summit by chairlift. It's a bit of a drive with a car and driver but worth the effort. Another reason to stay here is the Ancient Town is right on the other side of the hotel wall. A 3 minute golf cart ride and you are in the best and largest ethnic minority shopping experience in Yunnan. The streets are filled with shops, photo ops and food stands, Save your shopping for here. We spent 2 days in the ancient town and could not get enough of a good thing. The restaurants are fabulous in the hotel, also.

The room is super hot even we open all window when outside temperature is 8 degrees. We turn off the air conditioner/heat but still hot. Little alsrm clock went off at 1am without any setting by us on 2nd night. Master light button was terrible that could not control the toilet lights, etc. We were there for 4 nights and the light switch was annoying, old style. Your restauarant bfast is average (bacon not crispy and cold, beef salty) and menu terrible - they offered many kinds of dishes at dinner but hardly any without msg/chicken powder, even the hamburger has chicken powder!! no choice left for us but sandwich, pizza..

2020年8月にExpediaからの予約で利用しました。
Expediaでは朝食付きのプランで予約した筈がチェックイン時に「朝食は付いてない」と言われました。予約の明細を見せる事でその場は問題ありませんでしたが、宿泊中にもレストラン(朝食会場)の入口チェックで同じ目に遭いました。ちょっとウンザリでした…
部屋から本館までは外を歩くので大雨が降ってる朝なんかは朝食を食べに行くのが億劫になります。
スタッフの方は総じていい雰囲気でした。
古城近辺では民宿タイプの宿泊施設が大半を占める麗江では、古城内の主要なポイントへも近いためロケーションは抜群だと思いました。

入住第三天，我早起送朋友去機場回來，想睡個回籠覺，於是開了＂請勿打擾＂的燈號，準備好好補眠一番。
睡著沒多久就被電話吵醒，話筒另一端說：＂先生，因為您開了請勿打擾的燈，所以我們不能清理您的房間，請問什麼時候方便清理？＂
... ... ...
這不是笑話，就是我這次入住千真萬確發生的事情。
