Rooms though have partial outdated decor like lightings - are very clean, bright, spacious, comfortable & well maintained. Toiletries are good & bathroom nice.. Staff are very nice & helpful - from front office, doorman, housekeeper & cafe. Location is convenient, with a small mall attached. Huge commercial gym - free for guests.

The room we stayed in was quite ordinary except for the bathroom that was quite spacious. The hotel in general was disappointing for the following reasons:1 it allows smoking in the rooms and the non smoking rooms without cigarette odor are hard to come by, the from of the hotel wreaks of the odor as well, imagine this is what you inhale every time going’s in and out of the hotel. It’s probably a common scene so be prepared. 2. The decor is outdated.3 The temperature control is non existent, the set climate was too warm and the air is stuffy in the room.

The hotel occupies in such a prime location that it’s a shame it’s not kept in a better condition.

As a frequent aveler, I have stayed at the Shangri-La Hotel in Fuzhou, and it has left a deep impression on me.
Location and Surroundings
The hotel enjoys a prime location in the heart of Fuzhou, close to Wuyi Square, with convenient transportation and easy access to various attractions. For a traveler like me who loves to explore the city, this is a great advantage. Moreover, there are several vegetarian restaurants near the hotel. As a vegetarian, I was very delighted. Among them, the Zhilvqing Vegetarian Restaurant is just a short distance from the hotel, offering a variety of delicious vegetarian options, allowing me to enjoy a healthy diet during my journey.
Hotel Facilities and Service
The facilities and service at the Shangri-La Hotel in Fuzhou are excellent. The lobby of the hotel is spacious and bright, with luxurious decoration, giving a feeling of comfort and elegance. The guest rooms are clean and tidy, with comfortable beds and complete facilities, able to meet the various needs of guests. The hotel staff is enthusiastic and provides attentive service, always able to promptly solve guests' problems and requests.
Alumni Gathering
As a doctoral graduate of UQ, I also held an alumni gathering at the hotel. The hotel's conference rooms and banquet halls are fully equipped and can meet the needs of gatherings of various scales. The hotel staff also provided professional services to ensure the smooth progress of the gathering. My alumni were very satisfied

Wonderful Experience at Fuzhou Shangri - La Hotel
I have to share my amazing stay experience at Fuzhou Shangri - La Hotel.
1.Room Experience
When I checked in, the hotel gave me a huge surprise by upgrading my room to a suite for free. As soon as I entered the room, the luxurious furniture caught my eye. The vintage style really appealed to me. The layout of the suite was excellent, especially the design with floor - to - ceiling windows on three sides, which allowed me to have a panoramic view of the White Pagoda and Wuyi Square. The view was extremely wide - open. It was very pleasant whether enjoying the prosperity of the city during the day or the night view.
2.Gym Facilities
The gym in the hotel also left a deep impression on me. The equipment inside was very complete, and the environment was clean and tidy. Working out here was a real pleasure. Whether it was the quality of the fitness equipment or the overall space layout, it could be seen that the hotel had put a lot of effort into it. For travelers like me who like to exercise, it was really great.
3.Service Level
The service here was truly impeccable. Starting from the check - in process at the front desk, the staff were very enthusiastic and thoughtful, patiently answering all my questions. The doorman was also very attentive, actively helping with luggage and guiding me to my room, making me feel right at home.

A development integrates a hotel, a business centre, and a mini shopping centre. Transport links are within 10 minutes walking distance. Many sightseeing spots are within 20 minutes walking distance. Staffs are friendly and nice. Some facilities could be upgraded, though.

I was a rather frequent guest at this location before the covid pandemics. Upon return this time, I found the place drastically changed. The most striking thing is the greatly reduced space usable by the guest. The previous cafeteria is complete gone, presumable converted to some commercial thing. The vast tea/coffee/bar lounge is now converted to a dining place from early morning all to the evening. Hence, if you have a visitor, it may be a challenge for you to find an adequate place to sit down with them.

With great effort, I still failed to find the gym, which used to be a very large place and full of exercise equipment. My search for the gym led me through a maze of staircases going nowhere. Afraid of being locked inside somewhere inadvertently I gave up.

I venture to guess that in order to recoup the cost of maintenance, the management has been forced to convert very significant footage into venues rent out to merchants. Hard to blame them, but the experience suffers.

This place is fantastic! From the time we arrived to check out the staff at every point were friendly and extremely helpful. The general manager Eric greeted us each day in the breakfast lounge and offered recommendations. Would strongly recommend this hotel to anyone coming to Fuzhou.

We check in very late, and got the room upgraded which we weren’t expecting! Check-in was quick. We were very satisfied with the cleanness and the location of the hotel. Some area of the hotel is still undergoing renovations which we couldn’t park the car near the hotel otherwise everything is perfect.

Ideal location - walking distance to many attractions, such as Yushan
Scenic Area and 3 Lanes and 7 Alleys.
Combining the Manager's welcome message and observing their general tidiness & cleanliness, I can tell they are trying. Hope that reupholstering or replacing their (in-room) couch is high up on their priority list.
I was delighted that they have electrical outlets that accept US plugs without the aid of an adapter (although I have brought along my own just in case).
We have thoroughly enjoyed our 3-night stay at Shangri-La.

Awesome service; staff ensured to change my mum's room which reeked of smoke initially. Room was changed when we returned after dinner with complimentary desserts for all of our 3 rooms. Bed was very comfortable. Location convenient; 10 min from subway, some food options & convenience store. Best part of the hotel had to be the impeccable service from the first to the last day, from concierge to bell boy & cleaning staff.

Good clean environment and staff at counter respond well when asked. Help at concierge was prompt and reliable . Mr Allan Cao provided good service. Mr Ben Xue also helped to find the precise address of a church we wanted to go to and talked to the taxi drjiver to ensure he knows where we wanted to go. Good experience overall. But staff in restaurant and room service lacked the warmth, eq and accessibility expected from staff working in the hospitality sector.

Me and my family stayed at Shangri-La because it is a trustworthy company. It well met our standards and even exceeded many. The room was a bit small but other than that everything and great. It was an excellent four day stay. It was an amazing trip and a big part of it is because we slept comfortably.

This hotel was lovely and all. But the room just felt old and a little small compared to others I had been to on my 4 week trip through China. The Staff were amazing and willing to do anything for you, the Pianist was just superb down in the bar/entrance, the location was very central.

Nice hotel with Weak Staff

A nice property, well maintained. The room I had was comfortable and clean. Unfortunately the desk staff is poorly trained, and not very helpful -- and sometimes straight out unhelpful. When I asked about arranging for a cab to the airport, one staff member tried to up-sell me on a limo service to the airport, which would have been twice the cost of a taxi. Subsequently another suggested I should leave for the airport four hours before my flight, apparently because holding a suitcase for me would require a minute or two of their attention. Service in the in the main restaurant is terrible, and it is very expensive. Certainly not what I would expect from a luxury hotel chain. I speak some Mandarin, which enabled me to get by, but this isn't a good hotel for someone without any chinese language ability. While the location is very central, there is a lot of construction going on in the vicinity (they are building a subway), and it is quite difficult to walk in the area.

Be aware of charges in the executive lounge

Excellent. Except when you are in the executive lounge, they will make you pay for the drinks for your guests. I have stayed with many other hotels on the executive floor and used the business lounge to have meetings with my clients. This is the only one that asks you to pay for guests' drinks.

I'm always a fan of Shangri-La hotels. As usual the rooms and service were great at the Shangri-La Fuzhou. I did notice that communal areas were smokier than my last visit which makes me think they didn't have the air circulating as high as they usually do. I would stay here again.

5 star hotel. Getting a little dated.

We stayed 3 nights here in October 2013. We had previously stayed here back in 2009.
The hotel is now starting to get a little dated. Our room was showing signs of wear and tear which you shouldn't get with a 5 star hotel at this price point. There was a puddle of water constantly under our bathroom vanity which I suspect was from a leaking pipe, the wall paper was starting to peel off the walls in certain areas of the walls, particularly bad just under the air conditioning vent and the furniture was a bit chipped and scratched because of it's age. We had previously just stayed at the 4 star Guidu in Beijing and the 4 star Central hotel in Shanghai before our stay in Fuzhou (both of these had undergone renovations back in 2011) both of those rooms were much nicer though not as big and alot cheaper. So for value for money I don't rate it very highly at all. Next time in Fuzhou we will look to book one of the newer hotels on offer and probably save some money.

First choice of accomodation in Fuzhou, China.

Excellent location close to shopping and hubs for pulbic transportation. The staff would go out of their way to help the guests in anyway they could. The on site gym and sport facilities are wonderful. Even the water that comes right out of the faucet is natural hot spring water that has magical healing power. I could not think of staying at any place else on my next trip to Fuzhou.

3 Day Business Trip to Fuzhou

Was first checked into the Ramada on 2nd Ring Road by the factory, but it was so in need of a renovation that I checked myself out and into the Shangra-La. Cannot say enough about a nice hotel after a long day talking business.

The rooms are great for Fuzhou standards, but are starting to show its age a little bit. Facilities are well equipped, but $10USD coffees are the standard in the lobby. Business center is lacking, so you're relegated to do work in the lobby or your room.

Surrounding area is pretty good, a laundry right down the street, able to find good food cheap outside.

This is the \"best\" of Fuzhou, so expect to pay for amenities, but overall stay was pleasant - would stay again.

The hotel property is amazing. Magnificent lobby, superb fitness center, spacious rooms, great location.

The staff was less wonderful. They recommended a restaurant which was closed, and sent us off without an address or phone number. They suggested a musical at the nearby performing arts center...assuring us of the time. We got there and it was closed...another error. The concierge was consistently the weak part of this hotel. They repeatedly didn't provide reliable or trustworthy service.

The fitness center is superb. Hot and cold Onsen (relaxation pools), sauna, steam room, 25M swimming pool, large exercise room with full selection of machines. Would not allow us to play badminton on the tennis court, but we just went to the large park across the street.

We debated whether to stay here or at the newly owned Westin hotel and made the right choice. The Westin is great, but this hotel was classier and had better fitness facilities.

Very likely this is the best hotel in Fuzhou.
