This was our third stay at The Reef Resort over the past 20 years, and we're happy to say that its charm and tranquility remain as appealing as ever. While the property has grown over the years, it has managed to maintain the peaceful atmosphere that first drew us here. The pools and beach areas were exceptionally clean and never felt crowded. There were always plenty of lounge chairs and umbrellas available, making it easy to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Our room was comfortable and well-maintained, with all appliances in good working order. The full kitchen was a nice feature, although it was somewhat limited in terms of cookware, plates, and pots. One thing the resort does particularly well is managing the floating sargassum seaweed that occasionally washes ashore. Each morning, a tractor cleans the beach, removing the seaweed and helping to keep the area clean and pleasant for guests.
We thoroughly enjoyed dinner at Tides Restaurant. The chef clearly takes pride in both presentation and quality, and every meal was beautifully prepared and delicious.
There is a small local grocery store conveniently located across the street. However, if you plan to stock up on groceries, it's worth stopping at one of the larger supermarkets in George Town before making the drive to the resort, which is about an hour from the airport. If you're looking for a quiet getaway that's away from the crowds and hustle of Seven Mile Beach, The Reef Resort is an excellent choice.

Property was rebranded before we arrived and yes we knew of change but this would have been 2nd stay was good enough that we decided to come back with our daughter for her graduation present unfortunately it was nowhere near what we expected and our daughter was also disappointed. So we where left with the only choice of leaving next morning as this was a 6 day vacation and we then scrambled to find other accommodation. Hotel handled our circumstances ok mr Lawrence the manger was understanding and bad experience better those we should have been refunded 5 day for 2 room because we made our concerns know the first day we got there but all we got was 2 daysx2rooms .we didn't leave because of anything other then poor experience with hotel . I guess we will see what happens in future. Hopefully they get the new hotel in better shape the beach and area all those quite was nice

Was very pleased with the Ocean Reef which apparently went through change of ownership on April 1st. Note it is no longer a Wyndham Resort Staff were welcoming and all amenities were perfect. East End is another part of Grand Cayman worth exploring.

This location is away from the inner city...I loved that! There are convenient stores in the area within walking distance. My only complaint i have is that I'm not sure if they were rearranging furniture on the second floor every day but, it woke me up every morning.

This is the perfect place to stay while in Grand Cayman. We have visited Cayman 6 times. We usually stayed on Seven Mike Beach. It was nice but very touristy. The Reef is amazing, the food was outstanding, you had so much to choose from. You could do a buffet, I chose to order from the menu. Service impeccable we had the all inclusive package. We started our package with 4 days just to see how we liked it. Well in 3 days we added the remaining days for the all inclusive package. The drinks were amazing, my favorite was the Banana Daiquiri. We went to Sting Ray City and a reef dive. The concierge helped us choose the best dive according to our needs. The room was spotless, and I have OCD when it comes to cleaning. The grounds were also spotless. We were treated every morning with our Favorite Rooster. The view takes your breath away, the sunset was outstanding. I can’t wait to go back. We had our honeymoon 38 years ago in Cayman. This is the best place to vacation or to celebrate a special occasion.

Wouldn’t call it a “luxury resort”, but we enjoyed our stay.

Wins -
Simple, clean unit, right on the beach (most important feature to us). Mos staff go above and beyond to accommodate.
Italian restaurant, liquor and grocery store directly across the street along with Tukka Seafood Restaurant (5 minute free shuttle) make all inclusive optional. On or off property costs same. We bought beer/seltzer 6-packs ($13), kept in fridge, and because balcony door is 5 feet from the sand, walked back and forth.
Snorkeling is GREAT! Rent gear for $10 a day, see everything from Caribbean tropical fish varieties, lobsters, conch, everything. There is a soft sand swimming area, but most is rocky coral after a few feet and that’s ok.
Daily activities are fun (cornhole, dancing, etc), excursions will come pick you up. Several pools. Tractor cleans sargassum every morning. Washer/dryer in unit.

Minuses -
All inclusive alcohol is nonstarter, no beach attendants, you walk to the one bar. At $150 per person per day, 3 meals could justify if you eat everytime restaurant opens. A couple will spend 100 by accident eating. Drinks start at 13.
Bathrooms are SMALL, closet size. One door hits vanity, other hits tub. Most every unit only has one vanity, couples have to coordinate.
Chickens are fun during the day, roosters begin growing about 4:30am tho. Only one restaurant, augmented by occasional buffets.

All things considered, I would highly recommend.

We had a great time at this resort, where all rooms have an amazing ocean view that is hard to beat. We had a studio, which was very nice and spacious, with a generously sized balcony, which we unfortunately had to share with the room next door. We later found out that this was because this is a time-share resort, where each studio room is attached to a 1-BR unit that is often used by the timeshare owners, who also have the option to close the separating door and rent out the adjacent unit. Nonetheless, it was a very nice stay, the pool was great, with a nice hot tub and plenty of beach chairs at the pool, as well as up and down the extensive beach. We only at at the resort a few times, but the food we had was good and worth the money. The location of the resort is thankfully remote and quite, with a few good restaurants located near by, which we visited frequently; however, it is also such a small island that driving to the Boden Town, Georgetown, or even 7-mile Beach was no problem, where we enjoyed many good restaurants and eateries. Overall, I would stay here again.

Beach was a bit rough but I saw lots of people enjoying snorkelling. I made use of the spa and gym, and enjoyed the restaurant and beach bar. Concierge really helpful.

The Reef Resort was outstanding. The property was clean, and the customer service was exceptional. The grounds and pools were easy to access, making it simple to relax and enjoy every part of the resort. The beach felt like our backyard—just steps away—with a beautiful coastline that added to the peaceful atmosphere. There was great entertainment and delicious food throughout our stay. Overall, it was a relaxing, enjoyable experience that I would definitely recommend.

Mixed experience at this older but clean resort. Our room was on the smaller side but had an unobstructed ocean view. Service was generally excellent and staff were friendly and responsive. One drawback was housekeeping — our room was only serviced on day four of a four-night stay, though we were told we could request service earlier if needed.

There is one main restaurant plus a beach bar. Food is good with enough variety for a several-day stay, though on-site dining felt relatively expensive. The three small pools were pleasant and never crowded.

The main downside was the beach and location. The beach is narrow and during our stay was windy with significant seaweed, making swimming less enjoyable. Seven Mile Beach on the West side has calmer water, minimal seaweed, and a wider beach — the difference is significant.

Nearby dining options are very limited, and most activities and restaurants are on the West side. We often drove close to an hour each way, which became tiring.

This resort suits travelers seeking a quiet stay on the East End who plan to spend most time on property. Less ideal if your priority is frequent access to Seven Mile Beach or nearby dining and activities.

Housekeeping is only provided once every 6 nights. They do not replace coffee pods in the room. We asked for a different room and the front desk informed us that they were fully booked despite the fact that the hotel was nearly empty. Seaweed was a daily issue on the beach. Prices were very high for food and drink however the food at the hotel restaurant was very good. The hotel rooms were outdated. Pools were very small. I would not stay there again.

The property had everything we needed.
It was confortable and clean. The room was a bit outdated, but it was not bad. The bathroom faucet was has to use. I had to call for someone to come and show me. The TV was a smart TV but the internet as blocked and I was not able to use it. The service was great, this is a perfect hotel to stay in one place. For me, it was a little far from town. But I would recommend it. Great value for the money.

The resort is located on the east side of the island. The advantage here is that it's quiet with all a lot of traffic. Disadvantage is that there are only with you restaurants and other off-resort activities. My personal recommendadition is to rent a car If you plan on checking out the entire island. We did the bioluminescence tour, the stingray swim, sprinmi beach, snorkeling at edge Rock and other things which were up to 1 hour drivingdistance

This property is in the middle of nowhere. You cannot use most of the beach because the coral and rocks will cut you up. The beach was filthy with litter everyday at the edge. Small hot tub is cold. This is no where near 7 Mile beach. Honestly too expensive for the 50 minute distance to Georgetown. You will need to rent a car to get around. There are better places to stay in Rum point. People were stiff and unfriendly here. Don’t waste your time!

The room was clean, but repairs are in need. The shower rod was falling down, two tiles were separated in the shower and partly reattached messily with silicone that wasn't holding them, a corner of the tiles wall had fallen off and silicone slapped on top prevent injury. There were no comforters for the Murphy beds. The appliances were new, kitchen very good and clean.
The beach was good, however you need to train the staff to do trash details. A piss bottle was on the beach just above the reach of the daily skid steer scraping the whole week. Miscellaneous other trash items were never picked up. Seriously, 1 guy daily with a bucket and a grabber is a wise investment.
Food was good but waaay overpriced compared to other local offerings that was better. I went here 12 years ago and other than the new sea wall, not much for improvement since then, which means 12 years more age and lack of proper maintenance.

It is very nice,food is very expensive and that is common on the Island. They are working on the Sargassum which Mother Nature controls that issue. It is a drive to most visited areas. The kitchen is nice to have,the studio could use a table to eat at. Ceiling fan needs to be set on a higher speed to be sufficient. Definitely a very clean private area.

This was an amazing property. We didn’t know when we booked it that we were visiting during the 3 months of the year when the “storms” come often and stir up the seaweed. Unfortunately with the dirty ocean water came a foul smell - none of which was the hotels fault. We still had an incredible time at the pool, playing pickleball and tennis and exploring the island and other public access beaches on the south side of the island. The location of the hotel is perfect for peace and quiet. The grocery store, liquor store and yummy Italian restaurant right across the street were so convenient! It was a wonderful place to stay!

The dining closes before the morritz....it runs to corporate-y.... Don't like having to go down side of your building not to be harassed by your tour staff...ridiculous... Did menu is better else where.... Nothing to do there except the pool.... We didn't like it at all ... Shouldnt have to pay for laundry when your have to drive to a different building to get change. Just make it free... It's not worth the $2 you make... For real.... Ice machine down all week.... Should not have to drive to bar to get ice and then have to drive back to your hotel room with two cups of ice.... Everything else great on the island but don't stay at this hotel........ It's not worth the price at all!!!!

Definitely glad we picked this side of the island. Its quieter and the resort was beautiful. Loved walking right out of the door to the beach! Would recommend a room on the first floor and further away from main building and bar for quiet retreat. Having a car made a big difference in what we could do. If you are looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of life yet find yourself in paradise then this is the place for you. It is great for younger families or even older couples that are looking for a quiet place. The staff at Wyndham reef resort were amazing, they continuously went out of their way to ensure that their customers were looked after. We opted for just the condo fly package as we wanted to explore the foods and restaurants of the surrounding area. When we did eat at the resort, the food was diverse and the menu at the attached restaurant offered something for everyone. Directly across the street is a grocery store in which you can stock your refrigerator and cupboards with food and supplies if you enjoy preparing your meals on your own. We cooked some meals and went out and ate some meals and felt that this was a very economical way of enjoying some of the great food that the east end of the island has to offer. You are close to some world, renowned, snorkeling, white sand, beaches, and I personally enjoyed being able to go fly fishing right in front of our condo hats off to Wyndham Reef Resort, this was our first trip to the Caribbean as a family, and I only hope to find this kind of service in other annual visits south during our cold winters here in Canada.

Beautiful vista and beach at the breezy east end of island. Ocean- facing room was clean and spacious and had a shaded balcony that was lovely for morning coffee or late afternoon drink. All staff encountered were friendly and helpful. Particularly enjoyed Rochon who led water aerobics. We did not go all- inclusive given its expense and our desire to experience dining elsewhere on the island. Enjoyed Italian restaurant across the street and Turkka
East End just 5 minutes down the road. We needed our rental car in order to explore the more populated areas of island. Highly recommend visiting Rum Point and doing the Reef and Rays snorkeling excursion which was the highlight of our trip.

Although this is indeed beachfront, its buildings are spread out over nearly quarter mile and all are in serious need of updating and fresh paint. The actual entrance had meager landscaping that was poorly maintained along with the rest of the entire complex. The beachfront/al fresco dining area had no foliage to speak of. The tables and chairs at this outside dining area were essentially plastic Kmart specials with absolutely no illumination on the table for evening dining. The other amenities were just as badly maintained. None of the tiki lights seemly worked for ambience and the walkways to the restaurant had numerous LED lights out making it unsafe even for evening strolls. (Our accommodations were a 5-minute walk to the dining areas). The pool had debris floating on the water and the only tennis courts needed significant repairs. Finaly the actual room appointments were eerily similar to the one’s commonly found at any dated Day’s Inn.
Regarding staffing personnel, our flights were delayed so we arrived into the evening hours. The front desk staff were genuinely indifferent and became even more so when we began discussing room accommodations. We had booked a beach front room on the first floor that was not being made initially available to us. Lastly the hotel manager literally lied to us regarding the financial penalty we would incur if we were to leave earl

Very quiet location with plenty of activities for all ages! Beach is beautiful no matter which room you have. Plenty of pool space, hot tubs, beach bar. Great for a couple getaway or family vacation.

Property was clean. plenty of pool chairs. Had filtered water at bar and work out room. My husband has a bad hip , so our room was too far from elevator and most things near the office, there was no accomadation for wet swim suits in our room.

Enjoyed a 5 night stay recently. While the property is on the \"quiet\" side of the island, there were many things to do on site as well as within a 20-minute drive. Personally, we prefer the less congested East End. Georgetown and 7 Mile are too busy for us. The property met our expectations, and it was nice to open the slider and walk 15' to the beach. Staff were friendly and professional always. Only suggestion would be to put rubber or felt padding to the chair legs in the rooms as sliding them across the upper floors is readily heard downstairs. We would return and would recommend Wyndham Reef Resort for others looking for a quieter scene but still with plenty to do.
