Superb location close to the lagoon but away from the smelly bit (lagoon smells of sulphur as you go south) close to good dining options, relaxed feel. Rooms were clean and spacious, well serviced. Bar on site for a nightcap.

This is like home to me. The staff was lbetter than family. They were amazing . The food was amazing . The staff is so helpful and I want to live here. The best vacation ever. Namibia is amazing and so relaxing. I love everyone at this motel. If I could give it 10 stars ⭐️ I would . Laundry service so affordable and the best!!!! The tours are affordable and amazing. The property was in nice shape and the staff was friendly and professional. But our room was not in good shape, we were given a smaller bed than promised and mechanicals were worn. The shower curtain was missing and we could not take a decent shower.

A bit disappointed for a Protea Group

There was no hot water during the time I was there. No communication was sent out to inform the guests that there was a problem with the boiler. I had to complain a few times and only on the day I was leaving I was told what the actual problem was. At the end the manager gave us discount on our stay. Great location and beautiful views.

Hotel is very nicely located, at the end of the bay, offers a nice area to walk or run (up to 8K) and observe the pelicans, sun set and more.

An African take on Typical.

We were here for only one night. But we were put on the second floor, and there is no elevator.. My bags defintely weighed close to 70 pounds all together, so it was alot to carry up stairs. Room was clean, Bathroom seemed dingy and slightly intimidating. We lost hot water that night, so they had to fire up the back up (Africa stuff) . Overall, it wasn't too bad. I would consider staying there again. It was really close to our kayaking venue (literally a 3 minute walk). Breakfast was a big buffet, but fairly basic. The one thing that bothered me is that there was a back door that we used to exit for dinner, and when we came back in that way we realized that it was unlocked and you didn't even need a key to get in which seemed like a big security issue.

By far the best position in Walvis

This Protea hotel was built around 2004 but has been renovated for the most part. All rooms give onto the ocean and work well apart from the dim lighting in the bathrooms. Breakfast is copious and varied. And best of all it's next to the Raft Restaurant and several others clustered around the place where you can embark on sailing trips and safaris into the high dunes of Namibia

Give this place a miss

Room was clean but need maintenance tasks need to be attended to. Taps were dripping and the cupboard needed repairs. Bed and bedding was excellent. The restuarant was appalling. Breakfast was the best meal as it was self-service and the chef was brilliant - he had wonderful omelets. Dinner service was absolutely dreadful. Service was slow - waited more than an hour for soup that go a thumbs down. Kitchen staff was not trained. Would not recommend a stay here to anyone. Good place to pop in for a drink as the bar was stocked with excellent wines - at ridiculously high prices.

A 3 day business trip to Walvis Bay. The hotel was comfortable, albeit a little lacking in amenities (no real bar area). A functional, clean and friendly hotel. Wonderful views from the room over the lagoon with great bird sightings. The local restaurant was excellent and just a short walk away.

Pleasant Hotel next to teh bay - good location

We had a good experience and would definite;y recommend this hotel. The hotel itself is very comfortable although some items like the room safes need updating. The rooms look out to the bay and the sheets are clean. The morning breakfast is nice. Overall, a pleasant experience.

We had a very comfortable overnight stay as a family. The rooms were well appointed and clean, there were plenty of nice bars and restaurants within close walking distance, great views and the breakfast was very comprehensive and nicely presented. Our luggage went missing on the flight and the hotel staff were extremely helpful and sympathetic.

No wi-fi but a great sunset.

The hotel information says that they have wi-fi and this is my 3rd time to stay here and the wi-fi has never worked in the bedrooms and works only on rare occasions in one small section of the lobby. If you need internet connectivity at all you will need to find another place to stay or expect to go to an area restaurant for a signal. Other than that the hotel was acceptable for the reasonable price.

Relaxing Winter Holiday

Initially, we were situated on the ground floor, almost opposite the cleaning staff entrance. Due to the arrangement of the doors there was a lot of disturbance (door slamming) from 6 AM on-wards! Once we mentioned the problem we were promptly moved and soft closers fitted to the outside door with-in 2 days. Impressive!
This is a single example of the care and attention paid to each and every guest; we loved our stay

Protea is a chain of hotels all over Africa. The ones I have stayed in have been a good value. This hotel is no exception. The complimentary breakfast is first class.

Very beautiful location

Had a very good stay, thought the hotel was very good value for money. The location is amazing overlooking the lagoon which is filled with flamingos. The hotel was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was of a good standard and with a good variety. Staff were helpful.

Die Lage ist wunderschön, die Ausstattung war mal sehr schön, wird aber nicht gut instand gehalten.
Das Essen im Restaurant war mittelmäßig, das Frühstück allerdings gut.
An Silvester hatte nicht mal die Bar bis 24.00 Uhr geöffnet.
Das Personal an der Rezeption war unfreundlich. Insgesamt bei den Preisen nicht zu empfehlen.

Prima voor een nachtje

We hebben hier een nacht verbleven. Standaard kamers, zoals je van een keten kunt verwachten. Wel een mooi balkon met zeezicht. Ontbijt was prima en divers. Eten vonden we niet geweldig. Maar er is genoeg in de buurt. Leuke locatie vanwege de vele pelikanen.

部屋は広くて快適でした。一階の部屋からは直接海辺に出られ、そこからは夕方や朝の干潮時にフラミンゴやペリカンを見ることができます（双眼鏡が必要かも）。周辺にはレストランが多数あり、治安も良いです。朝食の野菜が少ないのが少し難点かもしれません。

Bien situe au bord de la bay il est clair que le Protea a un avantage certain. Cependant la nourriture et le restaurant sont decevants, la proprete est assez douteuse et le service d'une lenteur effarante. NOus avons ete horriblement decu et avons regrette le dejuener pris la-bas : un curry de mouton gras, viande filandreuse voire immangeable. Bref cher pour ce que c'est. Le petit dejuener etait malheureusement decevant, les fruits frais sont a disposition et le choix de pain et confitures est la mais en dehors d'un petit dejeuner continental, je ne conseillerais pas le petit dejeuuner complet ou buffet.
De plus les chambres bien que propres sont assez mal insonorisees, la finition catastrophique et il est clair que cet hotel aurait vraiment d'etre refait completement ( et pas chambre par chambre avec des travaux dnas la chambre voisine).
N.B: le ponton a cote de l'hotel est dangereux vermoulu glissant et des planches manquent. A interdire !

Parfait pour un point de départ vers lesphoques!

Etape très agréable et pratique pour faire une excursion aux phoques à Walvis Bay. Personnel professionnel et aimable. Les+: son emplacement près du port, un restaurant dans l’hôtel et un restaurant très agréable sur pilotis juste à côté, rapport qualité-prix très correct, possibilité de laissé les bagages à la réception pendant les excursions, personnel agréable. Les -: WIFI pas vraiment accessible (débit trop lent), chambre pas très spacieuse, manque un peu de charme...

Fin beliggenhet.

Rommet jeg hadde var veldig pent, litt falsk patina på skapdørene fungerte fint. Sengen var myk og god, og jeg hadde utsikt mot havet.Fikk umiddelbart et veldig positivt inntrykk av rommet da jeg kom inn i det, men det var ting som trakk ned.

Det negative for meg var at det er veldig lytt, hørte godt folk i naborommet og på gangen som snakket normalt sammen.
En annen uheldig ting er at dusjhodet er fast på veggen, i nesehøyde for meg på 1.80, og at det blir lett veldig vått på gulvet.
Andre jeg reiste sammen med opplevde det samme på sine rom. Ellers er det verdt å nevne at balkongen går langs alle rommene, så folk kan komme gående forbi og titte inn til deg.
Men det som irriterte meg med balkongen var at balkongdøren var ulåst, så hvem som helst kunne ha spasert rett inn via balkongen.

Det eneste interessante i nabolaget er stranda med flamingoer og pelikaner, og restauranten The Raft som ligger like ved hotellet.

Baño incómodo

El hotel es encantador por diseño y situación. Los empleados son muy amables aunque poco eficientes, algo habitual en Africa, según mi experiencia.
Es una pena que el baño sea tan incómodo. La ducha es fija de pared y está a una altura de 1,50, ¿alguien me puede decir cómo me puedo duchar si mido 1,80? me da mucha rabia que no se piensen éstos pequeños detalles que tan incómoda te hace la vida, cuando el resto del hotel es maravilloso.
