Excellent location and view. We booked a Tower room with view and were upgraded to a 2 bedroom, 2 bath suite with living room and dining room. This was HUGE! Front desk gave me a yoga mat for my room upon request. The wine provided as a gift was great. And the bottled water was generously replenished daily. The bath products were excellent. Breakfast was pretty good, including fresh figs one day! Spa was also excellent. I highly recommend this property. The hotel also provided free transfer service from the ferry port.

We travelled around and stayed at 4 different hotels during our time in Greece. I was really looking forward to staying here the most as it is such a well established property. Maybe it was end of season malaise but the experience was tainted by the poor disposition of some of the staff. Breakfast service by most of the staff was miserable. Went for drinks on the terrace one evening and ignored by 3 staff standing chatting together, we had to get up and go to them for service in the end. Zero apologies for room mix up, they blamed expedia but certainly didnt find it in their hearts to offer an apology. We would never return based on our experience unfortunately. Find an alternative boutique hotel on the island where the staff are happy to have you and want to create a memorable stay for you for the right reasons is my advice.

Everything was wonderful, the room was clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good as well. The only thing that needs improvement is the temperature control and lack of enough air conditioning. The thermostat only goes to 18°C and then goes back to 19° by itself. The room never got cool enough. Also, there weren’t really enough towels for 2 people (so we asked for more) and no hooks in the bathroom to hang clothes or towels. Otherwise everything was fantastic!

Fantastic hotel signature for the island of Spetses. Breakfast is marvellous with traditional ingredients in the veranda overlooking the bay and the Peloponnese coast across served until 11:00am. Swimming pool at the garden was amazing with warm water. Could walk easily to anywhere in the town of spetses.

The hotel breakfast/lobby/architecture/presentation etc is truly magnificent. Unfortunately the room had a very noisy old aircon unit. Same with the safe. The room wasn't at the level as the rest of the property. It’s unfortunate as the property is very very special indeed!

The Grand Damme of Spetses

This is a first class, grand hotel on the beautiful island of Spetses. Clearly it was built with touches of class throughout and it has been renovated to modern standards. We enjoyed the breakfast, bar, pool, and just lounging in the room. We were located in the back building, closer to the pool. Our room however did not have a regular shower, but rather an old claw foot tub with a hand held shower spray so you had to pull curtains around the tub to take a shower. Not the most convenient. Next time I'll ask for a different room. We had dinner on the veranda and it was excellent (but pricey of course). Overall, a good stay.

The Poseidonion Grand hotel is a spectacular property with a fantastic location right next to the harbor at Dapia. We loved our room, the fantastic breakfasts and the amazing facility. The concierges were very helpful and friendly and helped me rent a motorscooter to tour the island with. My wife and I loved this hotel and would return in a heartbeat.

Everything was perfect. Sitting on the front veranda was heavenly, both in the morning enjoying the sumptuous breakfast buffet, and in the evening with a glass of wine looking out at the sea. And I really can't say enough about the staff -- everybody was super helpful and friendly and professional. Absolutely recommend this wonderful hotel in every way.

Beautiful grand old hotel on the waterfront. We liked the hotel but didn't have the best stay because there were two parties on the night we stayed (a wedding and another party in the bar) which meant pretty loud music until midnight, and were refused a predinner drink in the bar as the barman said literally all the tables were reserved (there were about 4 other people in the bar at that time). Also there were no tables available at breakfast (although it's a lovely terrace and breakfast was delicious) with groups of people 'camping' at the breakfast tables for a long time and then passing the table on to their friends when they came down for breakfast - the staff could have been more proactive in moving people onto the coffee/tables and sofas once they had finished eating. So overall, the hotel is lovely physically, but when it gets busy it seems to be a bit overwhelmed which isn't great for a 5* hotel. Other note - we didn't use the swimming pool, which looked nice but is small, and is in a public courtyard (ie people pass through to get to rooms) and doesn't seem to get much sun, so don't book it for that reason!

Not so great this year…

This was our third time staying at this hotel, and we did not leave satisfied this time around. The bathroom of our room (building in the back, Superior - Garden View) had a constant foul smell. In the afternoon the handle of the room door was burning hot, as there was nothing (e.g., awning) providing a shade during the hottest hours of the day. The card to access the room was getting de-magnetized 2-3 times a day, and we had to walk all the way back to the main building (including stairs) to get it fixed. Staff at the Palms bar was rude and unprofessional. Service at the Library Brasserie was exceptional. Concierge service amazing. Couples massage at the Spa was an excellent experience. It would have been great to have local transportation provided by a hotel vehicle (especially to Paradise Beach since they partner with that establishment), given the limited number of taxis on the island.

Elegance of a bygone era with a gourmet restaurant and a warm and friendly staff. The concierge was incredibly proactive and helpful.

The location could not be more convenient. The breakfast was very good and the restaurant’s new chef makes each dinner a culinary delight. Service was exceptional.

This was our favorite hotel on the hidden gem of the Aegean. Like MacArthur, we shall return!

Unfortunately beware of the outside noise

This was a quite an enjoyable experience on various standpoints with the exception of one major issue. Our room was overlooking the sea which is a nice asset of course.r The counterpart, we discovered the first night (Sunday June 2nd) was there was a lot of noise outside, mainly from motorcycles riding in front of the hotel. For one of them, it seemed it was specifically done on purpose. It lasted over one hour between 1.30 and 2.30 am. A night Surveillance shift at the hotel should have been able to stop this disturbance and I informed the front desk, the next morning. .
The following night was also noisy and very annoying mostly from motorcycles.
Bottom line is you pay more for the sea view but you get far less sleep, which for a 5-star hotel is quite odd. Something should
be done about this major problem.
Everything else was just fine, meeting expectations. However, we will not be back until this problem is solved.

Was to be offered an uograde but was not. Service was inconsistent regarding breakfast and during bar service(did receive a wrong bill but I resolved it. Had a balcony with partial ocean view. Room was smaller tha a non balcony without a view). Had a larger non balcony room that was less in price. Noisey in which it was a whiskey event in which could not sleep until 2:00am. Shoukd of put us in a non noisey event area since this evrnt was pre planned. Noticed a managment change since our first wonderful experience four years ago (2919 in June).

I have stayed there multiple times in the past and I was impressed with the service, the room and the overall property’s condition. This time the room had cracks on the walls (you can see where they attempted to patch them and the paint didn’t matched with the rest of the wall) and the shower had mildew stains on the wall. The room’s refrigerator did not work and when I reported it, a person came in to the room and within 15 minutes he replaced it with another one that also didn’t work. Kudos to the concierge and front desk - courteous staff that provided fantastic service (they kept my rating up). The restaurant service during Breakfast was subpar (waiters and waitress were avoiding contact and their attitude was “you already had a cup of coffee so stop asking for more”.
At the pool there was no service (in the past there was always pool service) so people that left the pool area left their towels on the chairs resulting of not having any place to seat.
My wife went at the garden bar and attempted to seat at an open table. The waiter informed my wife that she couldn’t seat there because the table was for four people or more. My wife found a table in the back of the area where I joined her. A couple sat on the table (where my wife was kicked off) and when I complained to the manager, I was told that they were waiting for four more people. Two hours later the couple left without “additional people”. Again

Everything was exceptional about this hotel. The only drawback that needs to be addressed to is the shower basin linked directly with the toilet basin, with no protective door between them. As a result, having a shower meant turning the washroom into a lake.

Beautiful hotel, fabulous staff

Faultless service, from check in to check out. Called water taxi for us, loaded luggage, could not have been more helpful or attentive. Very clean rooms, with large showers and Jo Malone toiletries. Freshly cooked and buffet breakfast, with great choices. On site restaurant with great views. Very comfortable beds. Perfect location. Very well maintained hotel.

Beautiful but loud hotel

The trip was great the hotel is a fantastic building and oozes history. The room though was very very small relative to the other rooms we had stayed in previous nights at other 5 star hotels. The bed was small and not very comfortable and I had a terrible nights sleep due to noise. Anytime anyone walked down the corridor it was very loud in the room. The breakfast in the morning was fantastic and again the hotel is very very beautiful.

This is a lovely hotel, but the description of the room did not meet our expectations. We booked and paid substantially more for deluxe side sea view room that had a view only if you walked out onto the balcony and looked sideways over at least two other room’s balconies. Absolutely not worth the money and quite a disappointment. Also, the hotel had a large, loud party at night right ouside of our room. We weren’t informed of this when we booked or checked in. Overall, we found the hotel beautiful but not with the warm service that we received at all of the other hotels that we stayed in during our month in Greece.

Perfect stay in Spetsus

The Poseidonion is absolutely the place to stay on Spetsus! It has charm of an older property, but with totally modern amenities. Excellent service; terrific location. They have a wonderful veranda overlooking the water....it's open from breakfast to late night, for any meal or drinks. Modernized in the past ~10 years, they added a couple of swimming pools at the rear of the property, and a spa as well. Incredible value as well.

The hotel is beautiful if you like old hotels. this is not your typical Greek hotel rather having the feel of an old European hotel The location is central inconvenient to everything. The rooms are quiet and clean and elegant. The staff was accommodating. The breakfast is excellent. The the open-air dining was very good and the chef is to be commended there are several very nice restaurants with beautiful views however on this island which compete with this restaurant.

Very classy hotel in prime location

Stayed only for 1 night but had a great time. The staff were very attentive at all times (including when I left something behind and they sent it on for us to intercept on our travels!). Had a great (and value) 5-course - actually 10 - meal at their luxury restaurant On The Verandah. Breakfast was also fantastic. Little touches like bringing a complimentary drink when lying beside the pool show the level of service.

Amazing hotel to explore spetses

I stayed for two nights. The hotel staff arranged for bike rentals which was very helpful. After our request they transported our luggage to the port for our departure. We learnt later that they also pick up your luggage upon your arrival but tgis was not something we knew before hand. It would be great to inform the guests about this service more efficiently. The breakfast was outstanding, the only comment is that it could be served for a bit wider time window. The pool was small but very njcely maintained. Dinner on the veranda was a bit pricey. The waiters could be trained better. Iron only upon request. No beach towels, maybe available upon request.

Good overall even for price

Good room with nice bathroom, Etro amenities, and pretty big shallow pool. Room closer to stairs was noisy. Hotel amenities such as bar and spa etc also extensive and nice vibe in hotel. Would recommend, especially if limited price difference with others. and prefer central location as opposed to many others more on outskirts or with limited facilities in comparison. Breakfast buffet was good and included, close to a major 5 star hotel in variety. Early check in was a great perk, and they tried to accommodate late check out too. Popular with Greeks and foreigners. Staff all friendly and accommodating, great english.

Loved this hotel & its grand but relaxed atmosphere. Staff very attentive but not intrusive.
Couldn't have been more helpful when one of us became ill.
Even the cats were very friendly.Pool and spa perfect. Most of all we remember the smiles.

It was a fantastic holiday! we stayed at a suite, which was so beautiful and luxurious, in our room we had a box of almond sweets as a welcome gift, there were two pools, not very big to be able to swim but very nice to get a tan, lovely breakfast and scenery, excellent and friendly service, tried the hairdressing salon which was great and the spa.i would definately want to stay again at the Poseidonion!

Grand Old Hotel with Modern Flare

A fine combination of an elegant traditional building with a fully modernized interior. Celebrating its one hundred year anniversary as the Grande Dame of Spetses, the hotel has been brought entirely into the 21st Century in terms of amenities with comfort to match. Lovely hospitality following an arrival by sea taxi, practically outside the front door, welcoming cool towels and refreshing drinks. The staff is largely fluent in English and worked hard in pursuing our various restaurant and travel bookings, a number of which had to be remade due to the craziness that is the Orthodox Easter Week. The pool area is beautifully landscaped, again in a contemporary fashion, and they have preserved massive palms, which predate the original construction. The water is bracing in April (unheated) but rewarding after using the Hammam (Turkish Bath). Linens, toiletries, towels etc were all of the first quality with excellent maid and turn down service. We had two of the more modest rooms for four nights but they were entirely adequate.The hotel is family owned and their individual style was evident while maintaining professional staffing, worthy of a five star establishment.

This was our first time in Greece & after such a long & ugly travel from Athen to Spetses it was a feast to the eye & sole to face such a beauty. We enjoyed everything about our stay in poseidonion & Spetses & definitely recomended it 2 every1. Do go & experience it for yourself to see what I mean.
