This was a beautiful property with great food options and amazing views. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, especially the food options and activities at the pool. We got upgraded to a 2 bedroom, 2 bath suite and absolutely loved the room! What a nice surprise. The only downfall was not being able to swim in the ocean, which we expected and was okay. Neing super close to the marina and shopping was a definite plus as well. I would 10/10 recommend and come back to Sandos!

Excellent resort! We stayed 5 nights and had a great time. Best restaurant was Tortuga! Wait staff, especially Alejandro were great, as well as the food. For breakfast we loved the food and servers Jorge and Arturo. At Emiliano’s, Hector was our favorite server and the food was excellent. For pool service we liked Alejandro. Our favorite pool servers, husband and wife, Joel and Norma greeted us back as though we were family.
We especially liked the Rock band who had performed the last 2 years that we were there.
Improvements made this year were refurbished rooms and the addition of more umbrellas around the pool.
The plants around the entire resort were kept in immaculate condition.
The cupcakes at the cafe were better this year.
We especially loved bartender Luis at the Whale Watchers bar.
This was our 7th stay here and we will return!

None of the alcohol was alcohol after several varieties of drinks not one time do I even feel like intoxicated for that reason I would not be back food selections on menu weren’t very appeasing and limited the staff several times had to get other menu items from other restaurants to accommodate our party the best food was chips and guacamole no upgrade for our room upon asking as our group all received upgraded room level

We loved our stay at Sandos. The property itself is a really nice size. We really liked the layout and the architecture of the buildings being built right into the side of the cliff. The views at the top were spectacular. We especially enjoyed our mornings outside the Cupcake coffee bar. Every restaurant was delicious and the service was top notch. Our days by the pool were nice an relaxing with good energy coming from the entertainment staff and the great playlists! It is definitely not a party resort like some of the other larger ones in the area, which for us we a great thing, but if I was younger and looking for a great night life, it would be dissapointing. We will definitely be back!

When relaxing by the pool or beach there are always people around to make sure you have a drink in hand. Restaurant variety and quality of food, absolutely excellent. We've been coming in for several years and it never disappoints. The rooms are nice and clean and the staff is very helpful. They have several restaurants to choose from and food is available throughout the day. They have bars throughout the property and after a day or two, you'll figure out the schedule and get on a route. The property is right across the street from the marina if you want to do the touristy stuff.

I liked the old school Mexican charm of this resort, being built into the rocks. However it was spread out and long confusing walk from my room to the beach I would recommend upgrading to an ocean view room.. I felt like we got good service and enjoyed the poolside lunches. My biggest complaint is that the pool water was very murky and not clear.

Sandos Finesterra is a lovely resort in a beautiful setting. The staff works very hard to see the property is well kept. The rooms are a little outdated and the AC wasn’t keeping the room cool, even in March. Additionally the shower didn’t drain so basic amenities were lacking.

For all the talk about the hotel being right on the beach, you really need a disclosure that you literally are not allowed to TOUCH the water on the beach, much less swim in it. I get it, its for safety purposes and I could see that it was dangerous. But when you advertise a beach, it sounds like you can swim; we were very disappointec that we picked the wrong side of the peninsula for swimming.
Also, the food was pretty hit or miss. \"Risotto\" was just parmesan rice. We once waited 40 minutes for a chicken caesar salad that came with no chicken (or croutons), and just enough lettuce for a side salad. Dinner buffet had lots of dried up deli meat and dried out cheese. Only the breakfast buffet had any solid options for Mexican food, even though we were IN Mexico.
Cabo is lovely, and if you know what you're in for with \"all inclusive\" food, I guess it's fine. Room, staff (♡!!!) and pools were great. But we won't return to this resort.

Room with great view to the Bay but pretty simple and no gratuity wine bottle. You cannot swim at the beach (open sea). Really disappointed with restaurants, there was no gourmet experience in any restaurant. Italian one sucks, no buffet for lunch and only the steak one during late afternoon was acceptable. Cocktails were poor, you cannot really feel good alcohol. I feel it was an expensive stay for the services provided. The coffee place was nice!

Major issues with the front desk. To spare the long story, they had very little problem solving ability, and when we only booked one person for the all inclusive )instead of two) instead of charging us what Expedia would have charged us for the “2nd person, about $260 more) they first said it would be $950, then another manager said $950, and then $750 and then $619 and then they finally charged me $609 dollars. I’m so disappointed in that experience. Feels like a hustle and clearly they were not concerned with us coming back. Also, too
Was dated, and we awoke to sewer noise coming up through the bathroom drain every morning. Sounded like a Leviathan. Stay at a Marriott - avoid this Sandos hustle. Note: I spoke with them and emailed higher management. I really gave them the opportunity to avoid the negative review. They seem desperate to keep the overcharge. Bummer.

Want to start off my saying the staff at this resort is top notch .. everyone was very friendly , most would remember your name . Pool - older but never had to fight for a chair , clean .entertainment staff was energetic , hospitable and amazing .. top mentions to Carlos , Carmen , Norma but all were great !
Room - LOVED my marina view which I didn’t think I would enjoy versus ocean but it was incredible .,the first resort the AC was almost Too cold .
Food - well done for AI .. the servers in the restaurant all hustled their butts off to make each meal perfect . Food was good with many options . I just wish churros were available everyday !!
Suggestions - please invest in updating the fitness center .. much , much too small- any more than 4 people and were tripping over each other and dumbells were always in use and it was busy everyday ..
make the facility twice as big , two complete dumbbell racks are needed along with new machines . ( leg machine and cables were the only updated pieces )
Also a night time or really early snack shack would be great for grabbing something before breakfast opens at 7 for catching early flights or those who wake up really early ..

Arrived around 12:30 and could not get our room till 3:00 which was ok. But we were checked in at 12:30 and when 3:00 came around we had to find our own room. Which was a bit confusing. We had to call the front desk to get room amenities that never showed up at all during our stay. We were asked to leave a restaurant at lunch because we were told we were in violation of the dress code. This is fine but we were already seated at the time. We felt we were not dressed any different than anyone else. This was a pool side restaurant. We felt uncomfortable and left the property to have our lunch at the marina. The entertainment staff (in our opinion) pokes fun at guest it’s all in fun but makes us uncomfortable. Thousands of people pass through the resort every year, most will never return, we will be one of them

This was our second visit to this resort. Our first trip was in December of 2019. The resort has been well maintained in that time. It's a great location, close to the marina. Staff are very helpful, and friendly. The food was delicious, and the service was great. My only complaint is that their buffet at Don Diego's used heat lamps to keep food hot, but that's not enough. Some items that should have been hot, were only lukewarm, at best. At the breakfast buffet they had scrambled eggs that weren't hot enough, so we opted to have the chef make us omelettes while we waited. They were excellent. Again at dinner, at Don Diego's, there was some food that should have been hotter. There is, however lots to choose from. We have no complaints from any other restaurants on the property. We will definitely visit again. Don't miss the 'White Night' buffet on the beach!

The room was very clean, the restaurants and bars provided many options and the staff were all so kind and welcoming. Several pool options for you to have fun and swim, or to relax you can go down and get a chair at the beautiful beach for some quiet. The restaurants did cater to more American cuisine than authentic Mexican dishes and the quality could have been better in some places. You can easily walk right into town. The excellent staff and friendly people made the hotel experience and our overall stay was excellent.

I was expecting more for the price. Other than the scenic views of Cabo from the top of the resort. nothing about our stay was very memorable. Definitely won’t be booking sandos again unless there is a steal of a deal on.

We had an ocean view room but the noise from what I’m assuming was the buildings AC or power generator was so loud we couldn’t use our balcony.

I was excited to have fresh seafood in Cabos but the seafood here was barely edible. I also don’t recommend this place if you are gluten free. Each time we ate the hostess would ask my allergies, then I’d have to explain again to the servers. His happened every time we ate. Not sure why the hostess would ask but not relay it to the servers or chef. At every other resort I’ve stayed at, once the staff know I’m gluten free, I don’t have to explain it again and they offer me gluten free options at each meal without me having to ask. This place made no such effort. It was disappointing.

Our room was older but very well maintained and serviced daily. The staff were incredibly helpful and we were not bothered by time share conversations beyond the initial questions regarding our interest. There dining options were excellent and we enjoyed every meal we had at the restaurants on site. The coffee shop is a really fun option! We love being able to swim in the ocean so that is the only downside to this property as it's located at a non-swim able beach area however it is across from the marina so you get all the upside of a beach front property in walking distance of downtown.

This resort was absolutely amazing to us. My group and I are college students that went for our spring break in march. It’s the perfect mix of being able to cader to all age groups. There was a club upstairs every night that made the resort more hype for us, but during the day it was never over crowded and perfect for just tanning, drinking, music, and poolside games. The events like white party & casino night really diversified the resort as well with changing up what we could do. The best part was the way the resort was structured, having it built into the mountains made the terrain stunning, and looking over all of Cabo was so beautiful. The food also blew us away, never something too bland. One thing I will say is to look into what package you are purchasing, we got the VIP “gold wrist bands” unknowingly, but we’re thankful we did because the blue wristbands restricted a lot of alcohol options & the adult pool. But nonetheless I cannot wait to return to the Sandos resorts in the future!

My wife, two sons and daughter--in-law stayed here for one week in early February. While the hotel itself is a little dated compared to the newer hotels in Mexico, the location and the staff are the best I have experienced anywhere. When it was newer, Keith Richards of the Rolling Stones was married there. Although it is a little dated, the staff do an excellent job of maintaining it. The staff was wonderful. Everyone was welcoming, helpful and efficient. If I had more space to acknowledge specifics about individuals such as: Mar, Omar, Adi, Ameyuli and Jeffite(sp).

In real estate, they say, \"Location, Location, Location!\" This resort probably has the best location in Cabo. Most of the rooms face the Pacific Ocean and the three pools. The morning breakfast buffet is at the Don Diego restaurant that overlooks the marina and the entire city. It is an amazing view. The entertainment is also done here as well as the Cupcake Cafe for extra desserts. Several restaurants and bars are located at this ridge top location. So, you have the best of everything with this hotel's views of the ocean, the marina, the dolphin experience pool, and the entire city. Furthermore, it is a quick walk to get to the marina where most of the city’s restaurants and bars are located. If you want a really good Italian dinner, go see Mario at The Kitchen by Nowhere Bar (it will make sense when you get there). I should add that the food in the hotel restaurants was very good. I was never disappointed.

The resort was in terrible condition. The day we arrived the water coming out of the faucet and the shower was black. Later that night water was turned off completely. The next day water came back on and it was black again for the next 24 hours. Water was then turned off again and this happened for our first three full days. Whenever you would ask the front desk, they would say we are working on it. I had two separate rooms and one of them when the water came back on the toilet flooded the bathroom, the hallway and the closet. This was the worst stay I have ever had at an Expedia resort booking.

We recently stayed at this resort and overall it was clean and well maintained, which we appreciated. The rooms and common areas were kept tidy, and the staff did a good job with cleanliness throughout the property.

However, there were several things that were disappointing. The food was not very good and lacked variety and flavor. It definitely didn’t meet expectations for a resort experience. We were also surprised to learn that you had to be a member to access better drink options, which didn’t feel fair for regular guests. That was frustrating.

The pool was cold most of the day, which made it hard to fully enjoy, especially when relaxing poolside is a big part of a resort stay. The entertainment was okay, but nothing particularly memorable.

Overall, it was an average experience. Clean property, but several areas could definitely use improvement.

As Expedia VIPs, we were upgraded to a huge suite (Rm 1715) and received a welcome bottle of wine, chocolates and a $25 spa credit. Our concierge, Elan was great and we received excellent service from all of the staff. Everyone was very friendly, the resort was beautifully maintained and we enjoyed the food, the entertainment, and the location (literally built into the mountainside).

We saw tons of whale and even a sea lion swimming along the shoreline.

Let’s start with the not so good. It took over an hour from the time we got to the hotel to get checked in and shown to our room. We did notice as we finally got checked in that we got a different colored wristband than everyone in front of us but the person checking us in did not make any mention of this.
We finally get checked in and then we have someone come over and ask us if we are interested in attending one of their Elite Status 90 minute presentations. We explained that we were only there for a few days and were not interested. Like a used car salesman this did NOT deter him at all and persisted to hound us about going to a presentation. They did offer some good incentives go, but like I stated we were not interested. My personal opinion on this is they should send an email out with n advance to see if people are interested rather than trying to pressure them to go upon arrival.
Finally after this I step into the bar where I see my favorite drink Jameson and was told that I need to purchase a premium drink package upgrade which I was never offered at check-in and at this point was not going to purchase so loss to the resort.
Next get to the room. The room I had chosen in the photo was apparently the updated suite, not the same room I got but the room was very nice.
I did leave a review on Expedia about the check-in process a couple of days later when I checked my email and am happy to report they sent an assistant manager up to speak to me shortly after.

This hotel has a great location and a friendly and efficient staff. The public areas are in fairly good condition, but the rooms need a major refresh. Drains don’t drain sliding doors don’t slide and everything looks a little shabby. This is a great property and I hope they fix it up.

The staff was wonderful! Jafet always had great energy. The pools were great and we got to see whales as well. The only downside was some of the food wasn’t the best but that seems to be a recurring thing for all inclusive resorts. The sushi was very good though! I would definitely stay here again.
