We had stayed on our way south of Panama a few days before and actually changed our plans so we could stay another night upon our return.

Once this certainly was a glorious hotel. The room is spacious, the hotel territory is large and quiet. However, this place hasn't seen any care for decades by the looks of it and everything has started to falling appart. The room is very battered with walls, furniture and everything around being very worn down.
Still, our stay was good.

Dated building and rooms; was generally clean but a bit run down. We got the suites which were spacious - and nice to have two bathrooms and two bedrooms. Toiletries supplied. No hot water for our showers. Beds had little beetles crawling on them - we flicked them off and then were fine. Breakfast was good. Overall price ok.

NO SLEEP

At checkin, NO ONE told us they planned to play extremely loud music with vibration until 2 am. At 11:30 called reception, at 12:10 got dressed and walked to reception. At 1:10 they finally reduced music to level that would have been acceptable from start.
A/c had annoying bright white light, black out curtains wouldn’t close. Loud footsteps above at 6 am. Tepid shower water. Our room was furthest from restaurant which meant 5 minute uphill walk over uneven tile stairs. And yes, reception is not where you expect and there was mold on wall.
All I wanted was a good nights sleep before long drive, and this hotel refused to provide that.

You have to walk a lot to the restaurant and if it is raining it will be impossible to eat without getting wet.
At night there was no light to walk to the restaurant and a LOT of frogs were on the path. The menu is very limited and did not offer healthy options. My bathroom did not have a floor mat to come out of the bathroom and there were several soap scums traces from previous guests - therefore it was not properly cleaned. The window was open (unlocked) and the curtain will not close fully and I was on the ground floor.

The proprty was attractive and the room was adequate except instead of a fitted sheet, they used a flat sheet laid directly on a mattress. If you barely moved in the bed, the sheet shifted and you were laying on the mattress. We ended up sleeping on top of the comforter to avoid direct contact with the mattress

When I first arrived there were some issues with my actual reservation and my room was not rhe best in terms of location. Staff were able to reaolve my reservation issue within minutes and my room was changed as soon as I made them aware of it The staff were always friendly, courteous and accomadatijg. The property was beautiful and their pool was clean and refreshing. The restaurants menu had a great selection of delicious choices and the breakfast buffet which was included with my stay was well stocked with a variety of items. The restaurant staff were very good in their attentiveness and friendliness. You will enjoy your stay and if you do have any issues whatsoever, they will fix them right away when you bring it to their attention. The hotel has a Casino right beside them and is situated very close to all amenities in Chitre.

This is a well designed but neglected resort style hotel which seems to be suffering due to the Covid crisis. The building is modern but starting to unravel. The staff consists of only a few people. The hot water is off. The bedding was musty. The restaurants was closed.

Not suitable for wheelchair as there are lots of stairs. Rooms are located far away from the restaurant so when it rains there is no way to get to your room without getting wet. Breakfast was terrible. Coffee was cold, meat was so tough we couldn't eat it. Tortillas were hard. There was a cooler for ice but it was always empty.

I have pictures, it was nothing like Expedia pictures, very dirty! I will never stay here again and Expedia should not carry this hotel. Rooms did not have towels, sheets were dirty , no refrigerators, no ice!!! food was terrible for breakfast. Pool was dirty. I was there a couple of days and did not see any ground staff.

Everything was clean, nice views to Chitre, lots of nature, swimming pool was clean, very peaceful, was great for relaxing and allso close to the city center of Chitre. Friendly receptionist and restaurant staff. I think this hotel has so much potential. It needs a coat of paint, more ambiance and perhaps a better chef( i would steal the bonito Mares’) and bring it here. Room cleanliness is 4.5, very impressed for the price. I would recommend this place if you are on a budget or if you are looking for cozy place at good price.

For some reason, there is no curtains for the windows, sunshine hit directly into the room, can't sleep late :(, only 1 lamp has bulb in it, we had to call front desk to bring us more light bulbs so the room will lit up a little otherwise way too dark at night, table, floor full of dusts, I wonder how this hotel is still in business

I cannot thank enough to Marianela (Who coordinated my transfers and my additional room on one of the busiest weekends of the region), Milagros (Who coordinated my makeup and some other things at the hotel ) and all the very gentle and helpful staff of the hotel

Has seen better days, and rather overpriced.

Fortunately a previous review had mentioned that the hotel was incorrectly marked on Google maps. Still we expected when we got to the correct location that there would be a sign that said hotel. Instead there's a restaurant (with no name) and a car rental place and a casino. In the lower car park next to the casino is a reception with a small hotel sign but that's it. We had originally booked for 2 nights but wanted to change it to 1 night. Tried phoning the hotel but couldn't get through. Then phoned Expedia who cancelled the 2nd night. When we go to the hotel they still had us down for 2 nights. I would suspect the hotel for the error rather than Expedia. The room was nice enough. We toured the grounds which are rather run down.

My experience was terrible. When we arrived at hotel about 8pm we were informed that our reservation was cancelled. I did not receive prior notice nor did they inform expedia about being booked for that time span which was for 10/30/2013 til 11/12/2013. They had made arraingement for us at a hotel near by Los Versalles which was good, now at the end of my stay is where it gets good. We check out 2 days early and they give us a statement of account in which it was alot less then what I would have paid at Guayacanes. When I get back home I called Expedia to unform them of the discrepancy. They try calling hotel several times and finally get in contact with a representative of the hotel and inform them of the situation. They told Expedia that they were not going to refund any money, because that was in other words a fee for protecting me another hotel. Be careful when you book rooms abroad. This maybe a policy in Panama. The difference was plenty and I could not get back what I thought I deserved, Expedia did help me out a little not what I expected but I guess ckock up another experience in life. The town of Chitre is nice and quiet.

This is an ok hotel overall, but great if you're traveling through Chitre. The restaurant is decent and on site.

However, check the correct hotel address before you start driving. It is on Via Circunvalacion, but until today Expedia has a misleading map, showing the hotel in the city center. The hotel is NOT in the center. Instead, it's on the west side of town. About 3km east of the where Via Circunvalacion / Ramirez de Diego hits Carretera Nacional.
