Not a good experience. Good breakfast but room :(

Check in swift and efficient . So disappointed to learn that the restaurant was closed…this was a major reason for choosing this hotel. Need card to use the elevator. Card did not work for us. Front desk showed us how. Enter room. TV would not start. Battery in remote was dead. Went to front desk with remote. She said she would bring remote up, after a while I went down to get it. The batteries were on her desk. Unpacked and tried to start internet. No WiFi signal. This was a major reason for choosing this hotel. I went back down to the desk (3rd time). Wifi worked in lobby. She came up to the room to see if it was working or if I was an ineffective. NO WiFi. I suggested to her that she find another room where the WiFi worked, or she find us another hotel. She gave is room 326. We settled in and then decided to go downtown to see what was there. She told us to use the stairs. Talk about treacherous with loose gravel and leaves all over. Not safe for us 70+ year olds. My wife refused to go back up the stairs, so we took the roadway and nearly got lost. A long distance and very steep. We tried to go back up to the room, but the key would not work in the elevator. She gave us another key that worked..we drove our car and went out to dinner where she recommended. All closed We were returning to our car and asked a stranger walking his dog where to eat. He gave us a place to eat. When we returned, the lock on our room would not work. More hassle. Good bre

Fabulous hotel, highly recommend.

Loved this hotel. Excellent rooms, we had superior twin, excellent staff & service. Tea & coffee facilty in room good. Secure parking was important as touring. The walk to town & steps could be an issue for some, but we found the route walking via road really not that much further anyway. The breakfast was more than adequate, compared to some places, but was a bit pricey at Euro 14. Pool area is lovely. Big thanks to Laurent & lady from Argentina who does breakfast.

Just an over night stop but very pleasant and good value. Lots of steps to go in to town so maybe not suitable for all. The receptionist was very helpful and patient as I had made an error in booking and she kindly sorted with Hotels.com for me. Pont Aven town certainly worth a visit.

food at dinner was very good but service terrible. Waiter didn't know what one dish was. Took 2/12 hrs for two courses. Did not book another meal.
Ten minute walk into town was vertical - 100 steps and steep path. unlit at night and not for the fainthearted.
Otherwise room large, well equipped and comfortable with sitting area outside but out on a wing along covered walkway with spiral steps. No attempt on arrival to show complicated way with lift for suitcases.
Only one receptionist on duty at any one time. Very helpful when you got to head of queue. This hotel is much larger than the picture suggests

Great chooce

Lovely spacious room and bathroom.
Great location. Quiet.
Over 100 steps to walk down to the village. Very scenic.
The walk back up was a little challenging but manageable.
Unfortunately restaurant was booked out so didn't eat there but plenty of choices in the village.

More two star standard than four star

Not a four star standard of services at this hotel. Room small and poorly equipped. Bed linen not replaced during a six day stay.
Breakfast a disaster as most days basic items like bread were in short supply. Very poor selection provided for breakfast and food was not replenished adequately. Had to constantly request items from dining room staff. Overall a very poor experience which explains the two star rating given.

Chance find on our way from the Alps to Devon

We called in to break a long journey home. The hotel has a commanding view over the river. The village is accessible down a narrow and steep path and the staff are really friendly and helpful. We could easily have spent longer here and I am sure we will return.

Lovely modern hotel in Pont Aven. We stayed in a 2 bed Apartment that was situated across from the main hotel. Very clean modern Apartment with small grassed patio area in front. Good kitchen area, comfortable beds. Individual WiFi in the apartment was great touch and good connection speed. Hotel has a really good restaurant, food was excellent. Spa was good, nice small modern indoor pool which was very handy as we had some rain whilst we were there... Hotel is at the top of a hill and access to the town is via some steps (108 of them). Good & easy on the way down but a little more challenging coming back up.... Pont Aven is a beatiful riverside village, great restaurants, shops & art galleries. The Tuesday market alongside the river was really good.

Charming village crossed by picturesque canals and water mills as well as a scenic port and art galleries. No wonder Gaugin set up shop here! This hotel was a real gem- indoor swimming pool and lots of art.

Very modern French hotel

We spent three nights here. The hotel, is very modern and rather un-French with a colour scheme of bright pink and greys. The meal on the first night was very good but not 'hearty' and the breakfast was also good but expensive at 12 Euros a day. The location is up on the ridge above Pont Aven so expect a long even climb up the road (about 15 minutes) or a shorter but steeper climb up the path. The rooms were clean, modern and comfortable, I liked the window seat. The staff were friendly and helpful, some speaking good English.

We gave it 5 star rating

Regardless of the official rating my wife and I would rate the experience 5 star. The food was excellent both for dinner and breakfast. The staff were very helpful even though we were making changes to our reservation more than once. We stayed in the hotel but will come back to the apartments for economic reasons not because we found any fault with the hotel room.

Good looking hotel - nice terrace to sit out.
Room was fine (comfy bed, decent shower), but nothing special (our room was in the eves).
Nice breakfast room.
Walk down (and back up) steps to Pont Aven was no problem for us (a couple in our fifties).

A relaxing stay !!!!

We stayed in the hotel for five nights - five nights of bliss. It is absolutely clean, quiet and really suited for getting away from it all. The staff were just to nice, helpful and did speak proper English, an excuse for us not to practice our little French (sorry, should have refused and insisted on French only). Some reviewers complained about the steps down to the delightful little town, but I can tell you as rough and steep as they are your heart and legs will thank you for using them. This hotel is highly recommended by my wife and me !!!!

Great Place to Stay!

We really enjoyed our stay in the Domaine de Pont Aven Art Gallery Resort - so much so that we stayed and extra 2 nights! The staff were friendly and helpful and the hotel itself had everything you would expect in a 4 star.

Car parking was available on site. The room was quite large, nicely furnished, had a nice view out large windows and all comforts needed. Wifi was provided and worked well.

The hotel has a nice little bar and dining room overlooking the garden and pool area. Breakfast was excellent with plenty to choose from - even freshly cooked eggs on request.

The walk up from Pont Aven using their walkway certainly raised the heart rate - but it was a pleasant walk with nice views of Pont Aven and we found it a good way to finishing off the day by walking off the exceses from eating too much of great food provided in the many Pont Aven restaurants.

Our favorite restaurant was Au Petit Bouchon - truely magnificent french food at a reasonable price - with great atmosphere (but don't expect an English explanation of the menu from the very freindly owner - he doesnt speak English! For us it certainly added to the fun! We enjoyed it so much wanted to book again the following night - but we found that it closes for a couple of days mid week. (like many of the restaurants in Pont Aven). So if you have a particular restaurant one you wish to go to make sure you check the days they are open.

This is a beautiful hotel in its own tree-lined grounds, and we were impressed by the quality of the rooms and the service from the staff. The building had been a school and had been refurbished to a very high standard. The food was presented on white designer china, and we could eat outside or inside. We would happily go there again. We had forgotten to check where the hotel was before getting to Pont Aven, and there was a lack of signposting of the hotel from the village itself, but this may be because it is so new.

What a great find! We couldn't believe it when we arrived at this pristine hotel. Rooms were excellent and the on-site pool, though small, provided an excellent opportunity to unwind.

The reataraunt was very good, if a little pricey, but the cuisine was first class.

I really can't rate thehotel highly enough the pnly down side being the location, a strenuous walk uphill from the centre.

Would definately stay there gain and would recommend it to family and friends.

We stayed in a two bedroom apartment across the street from the main hotel and it was great. The location is fine although it is located at the top of a hill overlooking the centre of Pont-Aven and I would not like to have a pram with me! The content and equipment of the apartment were good and fairly new and has two bathrooms, one on each floor.
The swimming pool is fairly small but not busy so we were fine using it.
I would recommend it to anyone but be aware that you are asked to clean the apartment yourself before you leave or pay 60 Euros for it.

Accueil très sympathique, mise à disposition de la chambre qui était prête malgré notre avance, domaine calme et bien entretenu avec accès direct par sentier (dénivelé +++) au centre ville, belle chambre familiale mais chambre avec le lit double pas très fonctionnelle (on passe difficilement sur les côtés du lit et la télé est trop basse par rapport au lit) ; Canapé lit dans le côté salon pas très confortable…
Petite terrasse extérieure mais la chambre que nous occupions manque un peu d’intimité (la chambre donne directement sur la coursive extérieure menant à la réception, parking ou autres chambres !).
Piscine, solarium, bar, restaurant et petit dej disponibles mais non testés (séjour une nuit !)
Néanmoins très bel endroit, très bien situé avec option visite et shopping tout à pied de pont aven !

La piscine intérieure était très sympa et il est bien placé pour visiter Pont-Aven.
Par contre, la chambre pour handicapée n’était pas très pratique pour nous car nous avons eu toujours les pieds mouillés pendant plusieurs heures après avoir prise la douche.....
Et puis, le service petit déjeuner contre covid n’était pas du tout suffisant. Les serveurs réutilise les services de la table qui n’étaient pas utilisé mais qui étaient placé à la table pendant le petit déjeuner des autres clients..... Pour deux adults et un enfant, suite à la demande d’une assiette de charcuterie, il nous a donné qu’une seule petite tranche de jambon cru et une seule petite tranche de jambon cuite (prix déjeuner 15e/adult et 7e/enfant)....trop cher....

Nous sommes très mitigés de notre séjour au domaine de pont Aven. L’accueil du personnel est très agréable, l’endroit et la ville sont superbes.
Par contre grosse déception de la chambre. Une odeur très désagréable (d’urine) dans La salle de bain à été présente tout notre séjour, ce qui nous a un peu écœuré malgré l’intervention D’un technicien du personnel.
Pour la piscine, l’endroit est très agréable, l’eau de la piscine est plutôt froide par contre.
Dommage car l’endroit avait l’air vraiment top.
Nous n’avons pas pris le petit déjeuner et dîner.

Séjour très agréable en couple dans une petite maison, certe avec une exposition passage...dommage, sinon le service menage vous empêchera de faire une grasse matinée..très bruyant avec leurs chariots a roulettes, il conviendrait de mettre des roues en silicone..

Le calme à deux pas du centre ville

Situé au calme et dans la nature à seulement 2 pas du centre de Pont-Aven par un petit escalier, cet hôtel propose aussi une belle piscine. Le jacuzzi n'est malheureusement pas isolé de celle-ci et l'eau y est donc trop fraiche. Sauna au top. Il manque des casiers pour déposer ses vêtements, on est du coup obligé de les amener à la piscine. Petit-déjeuner copieux accompagné de spécialités locales. Très bon restaurant, ambiance un peu gâchée par le bruit de la TV du salon situé au-dessus ce qui est dommage.

Séjour en famille à l'hôtel Domaine de Pont Aven

Très bon hôtel, personnel souriant et chaleureux et très disponible. Nous avons profité de la piscine et du sauna qui sont pratiques et très agréables. La piscine bien qu'un peu petite, est jolie, en très bon état et elle est chauffée à la bonne température ; le sauna est propre et en très bon état. La chambre est parfaite ( 2 TV + wifi), kitchenette bien équipée , frigo/congélo , plaque cuisson , micro onde et vaisselle + nécessaire nettoyage, 2 salles d'eau et 2 chambres (1 avec lit double et l'autres 2 lits simples, bonne literie). Le tout est en très bon état, voir neuf, le canapé est confortable. L'appartement était très propre à notre arrivée, mais le seul bémol est une mauvaise odeur à notre arrivée ; nous n'avons pas trouvé la cause mais nous avons dû aérer. Pont Aven vaut vraiment le détour, mais en 2 jours tout est vu !

Nous avons passé un très bon séjour dans cet établissement en formule appartement : les équipements sont de bonne qualité dans un endroit très calme. Tout petit bémol : il n'y a pas de sèche-cheveux en formule appartement contrairement à ce que nous avons pu comprendre dans le descriptif.

L'hôtel est au calme à deux pas du centre ville. Les chambres sont spacieuses, confortables, propres et très calmes. Nous avons profité de la piscine intérieure (il a fallu calmer 3 ados qui plongeaient sans arrêt et se croyaient tout seul) et du sauna.
Le petit déjeuner est très bien.

Nous cherchions une bonne adresse pour un week end et nous avons decouvert une tres jolie ville. L hotel est super bien situee mais dans les hauteurs avec un petit acces en escalier qui mene directement sur le centre ville super beau.

Hôtel moderne sur les hauteurs de Pont-Aven

Nous avons séjourné en suite familiale, qui est en réalité une petite maison mitoyenne sur deux niveaux. Les maisons sont très jolies et bien équipées. chacune dispose d'une petite terrasse avec table et chaises de jardin. Le monsieur de la réception est très agréable. Nous ne sommes pas allés au restaurant de l'hôtel car nous préférons prendre nos repas dans la maison.
Le seul bémol concerne le ménage en cours de séjour qui consiste seulement à \"retaper \" sommairement les lits et changer les serviettes si besoin. Aucun coup d'aspirateur donné de tout notre séjour, on ne parle donc pas de la serpillière. Limite pour une formule hôtellerie qui est sensée comprendre ce genre de basique du ménage.

Chambre spacieuse et confortable d'une propreté parfaite !
Dommage que la piscine et le SPA soient fermés dès 20h30 car après un voyage de 3h et une d'exposition éprouvante utiliser piscine et SPA aurait été fabuleux !!! d'autant que la largeur de la baignoire de la chambre était réservée aux enfants !!!
sinon rien à redire j'aurai aimé pouvoir y passer plus de temps. ...

Un séjour agréable, au calme, dans un bel endroit. Mais la salle de bains était pour personnes à mobilité réduite, ce que nous ne savions pas. Résultat : trop peu d'espace, et surtout, le sol de la douche étant celui des WC, aller aux toilettes les pieds dans l'eau n'est pas agréable...Nous avons voulu profiter du bain à remous de la piscine, mais il n'y avait pas de remous, ce qui était normal, d'après la réception.

Nuit sympathique dans cet hôtel très proche (5min à pied) du centre de Pont-Aven. Piscine et sauna agréables, restaurant de qualité, malgré tout l'ensemble des services laisse penser plutôt à un 3 étoiles (ce qui est déjà bien...). Bon rapport qualité/prix.

הדירה היתה מודרנית ונעימה מאד, ומצוידת היטב. חדרי השינה קטנים מאד אבל החלל הציבורי של הסלון, המטבח והגינה הקטנה פיצו על חיסרון זה, כמו גם קיומן של שני חדרי רחצה מרווחים. המיקום נחמד - אפשר לרדת ברגל בקלות למרכז העיירה המקסימה, אבל לעלות חזרה זה לא תמיד כיף...מאד מתאים לחופשה משפתחתית כבסיס לטיולים באיזור.

Nous avons passé juste une nuit pour un mariage à Pont Aven.
Nous sommes arrivés à 16h00 et l’accueil a mis 5 minutes à vérifier que la chambre soit prête. Elles doivent l’être dès 15h00 selon les indications.
Le personnel au petit déjeuner était très agité et peu formé au rituel de service requis pour cette catégorie d’hôtel. Nous avons dû demander à nouveau nos oeufs sur le plat.Il y avait toujours la queue à la machine à café et une agitation incessante dans la salle principale du restaurant dû sûrement à la disposition centrale du buffet.La musique était en trop.
Dans la chambre il n’y avait ni tisane, ni café ni eau minérale comme dans tout hôtel de cette catégorie .
Nous avons vraiment été déçus par le service.

Une adresse à retenir

Une nuit en famille lors d'une visite de la Bretagne. Accueil très aimable et charmant. Dans un environnement calme et bucolique, la chambre très bien entretenue et literie impeccable. Un petit déjeuner en buffet plus que copieux avec une très grande variété de produits, notamment locaux avec un large choix de pâtisseries au beurre !
Les serveurs sont très agréables et aux petits soins.
De belles prestations avec la piscine et le sauna à disposition.

Jolie chambre mais peinture des encadrements défraîchie. Très calme et cosy. Très bonne literie. Par contre, Pas de liquide douche, seulement shampooing. Et Tres peu de choix pour le petit déjeuner, bien moins que les 4 * où nous avons pu séjourner par ailleurs. Personnel Tres agreble sauf au moment du départ ou le réceptionniste a cru bon de critiquer la clientèle \"expédia, booking, etc\" d'un air méprisant. Site Tres joli par ailleurs.
