This was a lovely stay, wonderful staff, very spacious room with comfortable king bed. The building is beautiful and we enjoyed a casual dinner in the wonderful drawing room. We went on a great walk around the grounds and through incredible gardens that really added to our stay. Breakfast was great with many options. We highly recommend.

All the staff were excellent - very friendly and tried to be helpful.
However - this is a wedding venue - so if you are coming to try to “have a peaceful walk in the gardens” like the website suggests or a restful time in the lounge, you will find that all of the facilities that they boast about on the website - such as the cocktail bar or dungeon bar - or all of the restful rooms are out of bounds for a standard guest - if there is a wedding going on you will only be allowed in the restaurant …. No use of a bar - no comfortable chair to sit on…. No umbrella to shelter you from the rain - even though there will be a line of 5 or 6 young staff lined up outside with umbrellas for wedding guests…..
Do not book a “classic double”…. These rooms are completely worn out - the windows do not open and the air con is broken …. Everywhere smells damp and rather strange … the windows on the outside were filthy … your view will be derelict farm buildings … a yard with dead weeds, and sordid old items left looking like rubbish …..
They state on the website that the chef uses garden produce in the kitchen … there is even a film of them carrying a basket of glistening vegetables as if to take them to the kitchen …. Well the garden is not well cared for - there are brambles and ash trees growing out of the shaggy box hedging and bind weed is rife! There was one tiny bed with spring onions … but they definitely do not have produce in the garden to supply the kitchen.

This hotel is a gem, absolutely fabulous. I was searching for a hotel in the Athlone area and this property popped up. I jumped at the opportunity to stay in a castle! Intended to just stay overnight, but this property is so impressive I opted for a second night. Service is outstanding, Room was well appointed and spacious, very comfortable bed, good lighting. The \"drawing-room\" is spectacular and a \"must see.\" Restaurant is superb with a varied menu and delightful staff. You need to book your meals in advance. All told, this property is simply superb. Treat yourselves.

Beautiful hotel and grounds with lovely gardens. Second stay here and will return. Delicious breakfast and lunch. Did not eat in the formal dining room for dinner this time but did on a previous visit and it was excellent. Makes for a wonderful respite when driving across Ireland.

This was our first stay here but will not be the last. Every aspect of our stay here was wonderful - the room was spacious, spotless and had everything we needed to ensure we were comfortable. The staff were friendly and so accommodating, Krishna in particular went out of his way to make our stay special. The food and drink was also delicious, all served to a high standard. The grounds are also worth checking out, the entire duration of our stay we felt so comfortable and can’t wait to return

The estate was beautiful and I enjoyed the grounds. I was disappointed to find my room was not actually inside the castle. Apparently most of them are not so if you have your heart set on sleeping in a castle make sure to verify with the property as hotels does not disclose this. My room was nice, but more of a regular hotel room feel. The high tea is delicious and filling.

We had a very enjoyable stay. The walled garden is fabulous, the staff were really efficient and friendly and the food was excellent. Adherence to covid restrictions was very good. The only thing for us that could have been improved was the room but that was simply because I like plenty of light and the rooms in the eastern side are chalet ceilings with heavy drapes and the pillows could have been more comfortable. It didn't have much of a view so might be worth looking at an upgrade. However we really appreciated the little plate of chocolates to acknowledge our anniversary. We visited the Drumshanbo Gunpowder Gin distillery..well worth a visit.

This is the best Castle in Ireland..

The Baronial Hall is a marvel and sitting rooms are exceptional with views of the amazing lough .

Beautiful hotel/castle. Beautiful surroundings. Excellent staff. So welcoming and friendly. I was there last week with my mom. They were so kind and accommodating. We arrived last Thursday afternoon. I didn’t get the name of the lovely lady at reception but she was excellent. We dined in your restaurant that evening and our meal was lovely. I have to give a special mention to Jayd who looked after us that evening. She was so friendly, so efficient and just made our whole experience even better. What an asset she is to have in your lovely restaurant. Thank you.

Luxurious room, wonderful food and lovely staff.

Initially, the room we were given was spacious but decor was tired and lacked the 4* feeling. It also lacked a bath which I enjoy. I informed Reception and immediately was shown another room incorporating a bath. What a difference. The room was smaller but felt luxurious and elegant. Service throughout was professional, pleasant and not intrusive. Food was of a high standard and the Afternoon Tea was exceptional. The grounds of Lough Rynn Castle are beautiful and the Walled Garden a beautiful stroll. We will return to this beautiful Castle.

Hospitality was amazing here- from the waitress, front desk, Bellhop, etc. They were so welcoming and helpful! Dinner and breakfast were wonderful and the property was stunning! Biggest complaint was WiFi was nonexistent due to the large wedding party present... they should have separate WiFi just for guests. Room was very hot and open window didn’t help. Also, I’d give one star to Expedia for not indicating the room wasn’t in the castle

Last minute booking whilst travelling around Ireland. Check in was very pleasant. Our room was in a separate building, not the man hotel, the gentleman who took us to our room was a true Irish gent. The room was pleasant, big comfortable bed, good shower, but signs of a leaking roof showing through. A better iron and ironing board would be useful. Good service in the bar, not too expensive drinks, pleasant bar food. Lovely breakfast. Worth a visit? Definitely!

This castle has beautiful grounds and the main building houses the restaurant and bars, as well some of the guest rooms. Our room was in another building a few minutes walk away, but not very far a long walk. The food was good and the staff were excellent. We stayed during a wedding party, and the staff set out an additional table for us since all of the other tables had been taken already. The bar staff were extremely friendly locals.

This was the last leg of our Irish vacation. From here we visited the National Famine Museum and the Strockstown Park House which is about 20 minutes away.
The Hotel was as expected. Reception was first class. Dinner was a bit pretentious to my liking but the food was good. Breakfast was more than adequate with the buffet, and we passed on the cooked portion as we tried to make sure we not filling up more than our allotted 2 seats on the plane home. The food in Ireland was fantastic.
The grounds of the hotels are wonderful, can't imagine what they would be like in bloom. Take the time to walk throughout the property.
If you are in the area and looking for a relly nice place to stay, you will not de disappointed here.

The setting is just lovely inside and outside. It gives the feeling of staying in a castle with new and modern comfort and plenty of heat and hot water! The staff were helpful and very polite. The full Irish Breakfast included in a nights stay with Expedia was a delight to all the senses! If you are in Langford or even close by, stop here for an overnight and take time to enjoy all the views.

Downside: was not made aware beforehand that I was staying in the 'Estate Managers' house which is a short walk away from main hotel, was very nice and comfortable but no wifi which was a nuisance as I only had my tablet with me to read in the evenings which I was not able to connect. Luckily it did not rain while I was walking over and back!

We had a fantastic time at Lough Rynn. Myself and my partner parked the car for 2 days and enjoyed walking along the lakeside and walled gardens. We had a beautiful lakeview room. The bar and restaurant are comfy and warm. And the food was a treat a real foodies paradise.

Think twice before staying.

Well I find it hard to believe that a hotel of this standard couldnt except sterling as way of payment, and when the manager finally decided that it was alright it was a pound per euro. The actual hotel is in a nice location but slighty old fashioned, would suit the older generation not a young family. Room was lovely and comfortable but shower didnt work, you had to use a hand held one. Will not be staying here again.

Requested room cleaning by leaving sign on door. Room was not cleaned. Told front desk at 6pm. Was told it's too late. Luckily a manager overheard and corrected the situation. Food was not very good. Hard, dry chicken in salad. Had to be returned. Hamburger hard and dry like hockey puck. Requested no mayo but it had mayo. Said we were in a rush and waitress never came back. Had to track down a different waiter. Very slow service.

Two downers: 1. We couldn't take advantage of the main common sitting area because it was closed for a private function (other areas were crowded and not as comfortable); 2. I couldn't leave an overall gratuity to be shared by all staff (at check-out, due to credit card system limitation).

Best place in Ireland

This was by far our greatest stay in Ireland. The hotel itself is elegant, and the grounds are beautiful, well kept, and great for walks. The food was excellent, both in the bar and in the restaurant, and the staff at every turn was gracious and efficient. I consider this to be our best place for the money of all the places we stayed. If you're looking for touristy things, it is not near much except the lovely town of Carrick On Shannon. But we were looking for a quiet place in the country that was well worth what we paid and close enough to the Dublin Airport to be easily accessible (2 hours). We will be back again.

A lovely Hotel

We really enjoyed our stay at this lovely hotel. The staff were so welcoming and could not do enough for us. We had a spacious room if a little dark but there was plenty of lighting.

We ate in the lounge on our first night and they had a very good choice of food. On our second night we are in the restaurant. The food was excellent and the service was excellent.

The hotel is on the shores of Lough Rynn. There is a beautiful walled garden which I am sure must be wonderful when all the roses are out. There is plenty of space to go for a good walk with a Nature a Trail.

We would love to return to Lough Rynn in the future and certainly recommend it

Fine dining at a relaxing lakeside setting.

The hotel was fully booked on the first night so we had a bedroom a few hundred meters from the Castle. We asked to have a room with a bath and within 5 minutes we were moved to a suitable room. The temperature in the bedroom was fine although the underfloor heating in the en-suite needed repair and we were provided with a heater.
We asked to be moved for our second night and we were given a lovely room in the main castle overlooking the lawns with a view of the lough.

Everything was wonderful. The room was clean & comfortable. Staff was very pleasant, especially Kevin who was showing the beautiful property and it's history.
Our only complaint was cleaning staff was very loud early in the morning-banging & slamming doors could not sleep past 8:00.

We stayed here as we were attending a wedding. The main castle part is fabulous, full of character and charm. The gardens are beautiful and great to walk around
The staff were really lovely, very friendly and helpful
Our room was across the courtyard in gate lodge. It was a good size and very comfortable. Needs a little modernisation (paint etc) but is still very nice and clean. The only real bad part was the hair dryer is one that's stuck to the wall and cuts out when you use it for more than a minute.

Was put in a remote building, not the castle. Hair dryer didn't work. Pulled down a luxurious bed to see a rather large spider run through the bedclothes. Got me a new room -- much smaller. TV screen wouldn't darken on off, air handler roared through the evening, hair dryer didn't work in this room either, bath floor wasn't heated like original room, cold room at night -- heat seemed turned down.

We only stayed one night. The restaurant and bar food were appealing (breakfast was excellent) but we decided to have afternoon tea in the lounge. We sat in front of the windows facing the lawn. The service was outstanding as was the food and the view. We stayed in the most affordable room which is in the converted stable area. Only from the outside can you tell the building's original purpose. It is a modern facility and very comfortable. The grounds are also beautifully maintained with great areas for walks. Google maps is what we used to navigate to the hotel. Google maps takes us in \"the back way\". It is a great view but the long way to arrive. Since I had not told my wife where we were going we arrived at the gate and it was a complete surprise to her where we were staying.

Castle in a parkland setting

We were upgraded to a deluxe room. As is likely true in most castles, there were no elevators, but staff member toted bags and refused an offered gratuity.

Exquisite, a must see.

I couldn't fault Lough Rynn in any way. If you are looking for luxury, beautiful scenery and fine dining it's a must. The staff were friendly and couldn't be more helpful. They will be seeing ya again.

Luxurious Hotel

The staff were warm and friendly. The castle is beautiful. The castle grounds were magnificent. The room was spacious with luxurious bedding. The food was disappointing.
