The hotel is tired, furniture stained, markings and scratches on the furniture and doors, and most importantly did not feel clean. Overpriced for the facilities and room. We booked the suite and it was hardly worth the money. The floors were stained and some bugs found around the bathroom and room. AC was humid and sheets smelled of humidity too. Breakfast was okay. Overall wouldn’t book this hotel again.

Sometimes a place just talks to you. You feel like you never wanna leave. It can be hard to explain what it is but when it comes to Sifawy there are a few things. The service is warm and genuine. Harbour suite is spacious and stylish. Breakfast is of high quality. Cleanest pool you can imagine. It was no issue for us that the hotel is in a remote resort. The oppositionen. Quiet and a great place to chill. Well, the place was so good that we left another hotel and came back.

This hotel is located in middle of nowhere. If you want to eat outside there is nothing close by. But the hotel, room and facilities are good, as is the location. I was just let down by the dirty curtains, sofas and mold in the shower. With a little.more care this can be a good getaway option

Awesome location,but lacking perfection in quality

Though very far from the city, it’s a lovely location where the hotel is situated. Had a bad experience with F&B and service when we stayed in the same property 6-7 years back. But the service level has improved now.
Seems like the maintenance is not being done properly and it’s reflected in many areas even though the property is not that old. My sister and family were also supposed to join us and it would have been great fun had they joined. We usually travel in large groups. On a previous visit, they were turned down by the security at the Bank Beach club citing the reason that kids are not allowed. It’s such a shame that a very nice property is built on a charming location which looks like family friendly, but then kids are denied entry.

New paint smells strong on the room. Horrible rotten smells underneath the windows. I requested 2 twins and they give me 1 king and insisted I should be happy. I didn’t feel comfortable, so I left after a long hour drive from muscat. Horrible experience. Highly not recommend.

Gorgeous hotel and location. The hotel is located in a very peaceful and neurotic marina side complex. There’s nothing around outside the complex so we would recommend renting a car if you want to get about. The food at hotel was good, the poolside quiet and clean. The only criticism we have is that it was two beds pushed together which isn’t ideal. Staff could not have been more helpful and friendly. A nice relaxing base for exploring Muscat and surrounding areas.

Beautiful First Nights Stay in Oman

The perfect place to be introduced to Oman after a long flight from Australia. The pool and it’s surroundings are ideal to relax and get over your jet lag. And the drive from the airport through Muscat and to the hotel gives you a glimpse into the stunning mountain scenery that awaits those who are travelling further south.
Great buffets for dinner and breakfast, and the poolside bar opens at 6.00pm.

Many very tiny small insects were everywhere in the room.
I was on holiday, then the next day early morning during my stay there was a meeting taking place in the hotel, then there was this very very loud music coming from a band, so i couldn’t sleep at all !! Irresponsible attitude from the hotel when i report the complaint.

Beautiful resort

The resort is about 1.5hrs from airport. The location is stunning and quite quiet and secluded (gets a bit busier on Friday). There is a bit to do- Golf course, diving and other water sports and several restaurants nearby. The boat taxi is now running quite a limited service and unfortunately was cancelled the day we wanted to use because the sea was too rough. The rooms are getting a little old- for example our ac panel didn’t really work (although the ac did fine). However they are comfortable enough and we enjoyed the balcony. Breakfast had a good selection. I would return.

Lovely hotel for couples

1 hour drive from Muscat. Very peaceful and relaxing for one or two nights. Not much to do except sit by the pool as the cost of excursions is far to expensive. Will go again if I need to recharge my battery’s.
Excellent staff at the hotel and the chefs happy to help in any way they can. Recommend for couples and for total relaxation.

Peaceful location, quiet hotel with good food

It's a long way to the hotel but we really enjoyed the water taxi from al mouj marina to Sifawy. They've done a good job of creating the resort with simpathetic styled buildings in the beautiful setting of the mountains behind and the ocean in front. This resort is still developing and in time with continued effort it should be great when it's done. I understand a bank and further shops are on the way. The new beach club with infinity pool is beautiful. Pity it was so quiet, though at weekends it seemed to fill up. Food in the hotel restaurant is great, (though expensive) but only offer a buffet if there are more guests (at one stage I think my husband and I were the only guests) Windy weather meant we unfortunately we're unable to go out on a dolphin trip. Nearby beaches are great. Bike hire is very expensive.

The hotel is in a beautiful location but that's where the positives end. The staff were absolutely appalling, rude and very unaccommodating. I emailed the hotel before departing to request airport pick up and never heard back, I put it down to the fact they not have have received it but having stayed there it's clear they just could t be bothered to reply. The check in was slow, the key never worked, the service was bad at the breeze bar (i had to order each round about 3 times before it even turned up!), check out the guy was texting the whole time not paying attention, and I had ordered a taxi through reception the day before departure to take us to the airport and surprise surprise no one actually bothered to book it. It's a shame coz the location was lovely but I'll definitely not be returning. I also paid extra for a suite but my friend who booked a standard room had a better view and bigger balcony, waste of money!

Avioid at any cost !

This hotel/resort/boutique is trying to present itself as something it might have been (on the drawing board maybe) but absolutely isn’t.

The resort is situated very remotely and is almost empty of guests during the week.

But be aware - the pool apparently becomes a community pool during the weekends.

This specific weekend the hotel courtyard where the pool is, became a clubbing h... without any prior notice at time of booking or check inn. Leaving nowhere at the hotel to be unless you wanted to participate in the pool party. A pool party dominated by large groups taking over most of the pool and surrounding areas

Trying to raise the issue with the hotel management was without any results - in fact, the manager couldn’t be bothered to talk to us.

Even pointing out the danger of serving drinks in glasses and glass bottles to more or less intoxicated guests in the pool to be enjoyed at the pool side didn’t seem to bother the staff. The shattered glass and the children running around bare feet spelled disaster waiting to happen.

The bespoke designed rooms are worn down and they have at some point been redone without any respect for the original designs, plans and visions. This could be ok, but the hotel hasn’t bothered to update the pictures so do not take them into account when considering booking this hotel.

Nice hotel but Quiet

This hotel is nice and the service is accommodating although it is remote. Excursions and exploring requires some travel and is expensive. If you are looking for a quiet time around the pool it is nice. Research the timing of your visit. During Ramadan the place is deserted if that is what you are looking for at the beginning of Eid it was busier and the pool crowed. The beach is small and currently there is construction going on but it is certain to be nice when complete. Nice place to relax but perhaps not the best location to discover Oman.

Blissful hideaway off the grid

We spent a week at Sifawy Boutique Hotel over Christmas 2016 and were delighted with the peace and quiet. It exceeded our expectations in terms of rest and relaxation. It is a little remote from Muscat (75 minutes by car from airport along some fairly barren desert countryside) and there is little to do in the vicinity other than sit by the pool, have a dip in the sea, go snorkeling or look for dolphins and enjoy the good quality food and comforts of the hotel. For us, this was perfect.

We were a little surprised at how quiet is was. No complaints on our part and this appeared to work for the families and couples where at the same time as us.

Sifah is expanding and a golf course is due to open in early 2017. Most of the new construction will be distant from the Boutique Hotel but you might want to check.

Time for R&R

We really enjoyed our stay here (4 nights) which was plenty. Food was good and we loved our room. We really just wanted to mainly relax however, we never got to see Muscat or anywhere else because of the location. It's over an hour from the airport and the taxi ride was over US $120 there and $90 back (yes ripped off by taxi, we didn't know the going price which should be 30 OMR rial) This made the price of going out to explore a bit ridiculous. Forget any airport shuttle, it advertises it but there is none. This is probably the biggest downfall and they should get it sorted. Probably another issue for us was by day 4 we were ready to leave just through the sheer amount of children and large families in the pool (and directly outside our room). Total invasion on wanting peace and quiet to R&R, but we did come during EID break. Luckily our first and second days were relatively quiet but the last two were noisy. Our last day we went and sat by the beach. No kids! All up we had a great time just enjoying reading, swimming and eating.

Relaxing, far away from any hustle-bustle

This was a very spontaneous pick and we did not realize until the end that the hotel is quite a distance away from Muscat city. Airport taxi driver tried his best to \"sell\" us into another hotel closer to the city but good that we insisted to reach this hotel. Incredibly nice and helpful staff, well-kept rooms. Diving centre next door with a fun and professional team. Private beach at the sea. Really excellent for relaxing! The location is however quite isolated and there are hardly any shopping or other facilities besides the hotel. Also, besides the staff, you will hardly find any locals, so don't come here if you are looking for an \"authentic Oman\" experience. Definitely worth 2-3 nights stay to regain energy before heading out for some more adventure.

Getaway resort but in the middle of nowhere

Originally we chose this hotel since the remaining 5 star hotels where booked during the EID holidays. The hotel is approx 1 hour from the centre of Muscat. Getting there was extremely challenging and if it wasn't for the gps we would have never found it. For first timers do not attempt to go to the hotel at night as there are no street lights and you are driving through the mountain with dangerous curves. The hotel however exceeded our expectations, it was a 5 star star accomadation although they give it a 4. The resort is very relaxing and quite big. Many water activities to do including scuba diving. Going to explore the city is a bit challenging as each way takes 45 minutes. The resort is still expanding with a high way road being built that will eventually take you straight to the resort. Overall it was a great experience. My only downside was the terrible road drive to get there i recommend this place that want to get away from everything and are not planning to do any city touring.

The hotel has a gorgeous setting away from the city. We had booked a suite for the weekend which was amazing!! Everything from the time of check in to check out was wonderful. Great position. Fantastic staff vey attentive and friendly. Five wonderful days spent relaxing , boating, snorkelling.
Downside all the kids that arrive at the pool from the apartments take away the name \"boutique \" hotel with their screaming and ball games. The noise is caught and can be heard in the rooms.

This hotel was perfect for a long weekend getaway. It's completely secluded with a resounding relaxing atmosphere and indescribable scenery. Breakfast was included and offered a wide variety of options. Dinner was a bit pricey, but the food was delicious. I highly recommend the Wadi Shab. We reserved a tour guide through the Dive Center at the hotel and he was so friendly and knowledgable. It was a great day trip that also included a picnic lunch, water, and trips to the Dam and sink hole. Everything we did was at our leisure and we never felt rushed to get back to the hotel by a certain time.

Beautiful resort located on a private beach

This hotel is nestled in the mountains, very secluded from the hustle and bustle of Muscat city (the nearest ATM is 30 minutes away). If you're willing to leave behind the rest of civilisation and experience a wonderful retreat, then this hotel is for you. There are top-class amenities, including watersports like jet skiing and scuba diving, a spa (unfortunately we didn't get the chance to try this out), a fabulous swimming pool and a private beach. Our room was spacious and luxurious, and we ate
our fill each morning with the delicious buffet breakfast, serving everything from French toast and a traditional fry-up, to cooked-to-order pancakes and omelettes.
The hotel staff at reception were so helpful at maximising our time in Oman. Each day, they suggested and organised activities for us. Special thanks to Thomas from the on-site diving centre, who guided us through the unforgettable Wadi Shab, providing fascinating facts about the region as we drove through the country.
Overall, the Sifawy Boutique Hotel was instrumental in providing us with outstandingly positive memories of our trip to Oman.
Don't miss out on this little slice of paradise!

It is a small ,nice and cozy hotel

Unfortunately all advertisements state 45 min from airport it was actually 1.5 hrs as the road is more than half in the mountains so you can't speed. Because of the distance not many tours available and they were poorly organized.A taxi to airport or to Muscat costs 35 Omani Riyals (55£ at may 2014rate) At time it was quite risky being female solo traveler. Not much to do in the resort ,a little too quite. The beach nearby has nice sand but just near the water there are pebbles.

Comfortable hotel, helpful staff. Drove in by car at night so don't really understand some critics of the road - a lot worse in mountain villages in Spain, for example - although signage from the village could be better. Kids staying there can be noisy around the pool, so be aware of that if you're looking for tranquility. Restaurant menu could do with increased variety if staying for longer than a few days, but food was generally good. Internet access was a disappointment, even if free - but they did eventually resolve (maybe I should leave work at the office!).

Perfect for a quiet break

A very picturesque part of Oman with mountain ans sea meeting. The resort adds an inspiring human artistic touch to the horizon. The aesthetics certainly add to the experience.
Staff friendly and helpful and not over-the-top, as in some resorts.
Food served by room service and the hotel restaurant is of excellent quality.
Only the quality of their espresso coffee and WiFi facilities can be improved - everything else was perfect.

This hotel is just over a hours drive from Muscat Aiport . Taxi cost $100 dollars from the airport is the going rate in March 2014. There is a lack of atmosphere in my honest opinion . There is no Spa at the Hotel . Only a very small gym .
No Sauna / Steam room . Beach are is ok . There is nothing locally in terms of restaurants only the hotel restaurants which i found expensive . Breakfast was good . In my opinion 2 days is enough.

Decided to have a short break in Oman whilst visiting relatives in Dubai. Quiet time of yr, no A/C needed in room. Lovely location, good beach, not much to do other than relax and get away from it all. Water taxi trip to Oman worth doing (it doesn't run every day). It fits the bill for a romantic break. Food excellent and good quality; ambience peaceful and calm. Staff friendly and efficient. The sort of place you dream about but never seem to find. Oman is not cheap, but the standard is high.

I enjoyed my stay but a few things would have made it better. On the beautiful drive out there, I only saw a few direction signs to the hotel, it's simple to get to once you have been but the initial drive out there was confusing. We were less than 1km from the hotel and we still weren't sure we were there. We pulled up in front and parked, although there were staff inside doing nothing no one came out to greet us or take our bags. Service was good when you asked for something and the staff were lovely but no one took initiative to do anything. I also felt that the website was a little misleading, it said \" soon to be completed 5 resorts, golf, restaurants and night life\" but the only thing there is this hotel, I was expecting more things to be completed. it is definatly not \" soon the be completed\" it's more like just got started.

Peaceful place

We loved the peace and quiet which is what we were looking for. There is very little else in the area yet in the way of restaurants etc. as it is still in the development stage. It is also a bit remote but you can travel to Muscat easily by speedboat, hire a car or use the local taxis. The speedboat option was really enjoyable. The food was excellent and the hotel had all the high standard amenities we expected. The only thing that irked me was while lying by the pool the music was on a repeat cycle and we heard the same songs over and over again.

Great hotel but...

My experience of the hotel is that the hotel it's self is great, luxurious and offers great views of the marina. However I found the hotel difficult to find. It did not show in the GPS and we came across the marina by chance! It is within an exclusive estate and the restaurant was fantastic.

Beautiful seclusion

I can barely fault this hotel. It was exactly what I wanted. Clean, quiet, great views, pool, sun, friendly people and food. It is a place to switch of and recuperate. It may not be what everyone wants, for example the resort is under construction (you cant hear anything) and so there don't appear to be water sport facilities, no spa and nowhere to buy food or water outside of the restaurant. The staff really couldn't do enough for us. The only other point to note is the location is through some mountains, which while beautiful, you need to hold your nerve on the twisty ups and downs, don't get too carried away and make sure you have plenty of fuel or you will find yourself buying some from the marina, like I did!

Beautiful Sifawy

My boyfriend and I stayed in the Sifawy Boutique Hotel for 4 nights at the beginning of November 2013.
We were absolutely blown away by the scenery and surrounding location; Oman is a beautiful Country and the landscape is the perfect setting for this peaceful haven. The staff went out of their way to help, especially when the airline lost my boyfriend's luggage! The food in the restaurants was superb, albeit slightly more expensive than anticipated. The pool area was peaceful and clean, and the private beach was stunning (although slightly rocky).
I would definitely recommend this hotel in Oman.

False Advertisement< Because the hotel not ready!

The hotel is still under construction and it is not ready to accommodate guests and they just took advantage of the Eid Holiday where reserved guests have no other choice in town, since all the other hotels are fully booked and sold out or their prices are very high. No swimming, No Sea, No Internet, Food is Terrible. Everything is bad, very bad!

Lovely hotel but a little out of the way

Quite secluded (part of a new development with not much else open so far) but we were happy to stay by the pool for the week and had a lovely time. Lots of excursions and activities on offer if you wanted though. Staff very attentive and friendly.

Its a nice hotel for the people looking for a away from city life experiance. The hotel is very confortableand well maintained. The staff were good and very courteous as well. The drive upto the hotel is picturesque through the hilly terrain and meandering roads. Its about 40km from any city life so one has to be ready for it mentally before u book this hotel. Even the nearest petrol pump is about 40KM away so fill up ur tank before u leave muscat. There is very limited chice on food and this is where the hotel really needs to work. Otherwise overall had a great stay with family.

A Boutique Hotel in the Classic Style

This is a boutique hotel in the true style. 35 miles from the nearest ATM, 45 miles from the nearest supermarket and a tricky drive across the mountains just to find the place at the end of an unmade road. It is clustered around the most beautiful marina with a glorious private beach and a magnificant pool area. The hotel was impeccably presented and maintained and nothing was too much effort for any of the staff who were wonderfully attentive. We were in Marina suites on the top floor (which the lift doesn't quite rise to) and they are well worth the extra money. A beautiful contemporarily furnished bedroom with large dine-out balcony, a large separate dressing room with safe, a separate sitting room with further balcony and a huge ensuite - the shower alone was over 12 feet deep! The restaurant was excellent with a great array of food options despite being the only dining option at the hotel and breakfast was superb.

However, this is not a family hotel - there are no child facilities and no activities other than relaxing or using the jet skies. There is nothing to walk to from the hotel so you will be hotel based throughout.

A maginificant hotel for a complete escape and relaxing getaway. There are plans, however, to build 4 further hotels, a golf course and villa complex, which I feel will change the character of the area and hotel forever and I strongly recommend going now before this gem is lost.

Expensive - but excellent

This hotel - room and facilities are all absolutely fantastic. The hotel is built in a new marina that has only been completed in the last 12 months - and most of the apartments that make up the marina have not been sold yet - so it is very quiet.

For much of the time we were only residents in the hotel as we stayed for 21 days - most people were only there on short term contracts overnight or for 2 to 5 days.

Food is very expensive - we were booked in for B & B - and it cost us £3,000 for lunch and evening meals for the holiday. However, the food was so good that we were more than happy with the deal.

ideal for a couple for a short stay

The Sifawy Hotel is ideal for a three night stay. Anything more than this I personally feel is too much as the hotel itself is very remote with very little access to other amenities. i.e the closest hypermarket is about 40km away.
Also bear in mind that the transfer time from the airport is approx 1.5 hours. it is also about an hours drive from Muscat.
Food in the hotel restaurant is lovely and i would recommend the al sabla restaurant.
The As Sammak restaurant the food was definately not fresh and there are days that this restaurant has no diners at all!!!

Stylish small friendly hotel in great location.

We really loved this stylish beautiful hotel! The location is excellent, the staff very friendly and helpful but not 'over-familiar'. Evening dining overlooking the creek is perfect and the food choice reasonably priced, with a wide choice and good service. Beautiful pool; I do just wonder if it was really ful whether there are enough sunbeds but otherwise very relaxing and there is also a shuttle-buggy service to the beach.

Take note

The hotel is lovely, however you should be aware that the whole development is not finished, meaning that the choice of restaurants is limited and the fish restaurant also owned by the hotel is average. If you are planning to see the sights you will need a car as this is a remote location. Oh and never accept the first price for cabs etc....they try it on big style!

In the middle of nowhere

The hotel is average. It is in the middle of nowhere. Its so hard to reach by your own car, specially at night. There are no single taxi there. you have to order one, and it costs $100 to go the city or nearest point of itnerest. The area is still underconstrcution and it needs at least 2 years to be settled. There are few guests at the hotel, so its really hard to arrange for group tours or excursions.

Für uns das beste Hotel unserer Omanreise, obwohl es nicht direkt am Strand war. Man wird jederzeit zum Hotelstrand \"The Dunes\" gefahren, der wirklich schön und bei uns immer fast menschenleer war.
Wir haben ein kostenloses Update auf eine Marina Suite bekommen und die war der Hammer. Überhaupt ist das Hotel mit so viel Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet. Das Frühstück war vielfältig und so lecker. Jedes Gericht, das wir beim Abendessen bestellt haben (wir hatten uns gegen die angebotene Vollpension mit Buffets entschieden) war richtig gut und auchv preislich ok.
Ein wirklich empfehlenswertes Hotel
