Amazing in all respects! The island is paradise. The service is outstanding. The dining quality is excellent (although they do need to improve on the Asian cuisine). Dedication to sustainability is outstanding. Complimentary home made ice creams (with 48 flavours) on offer all day. We loved our time here. Extremely special.

Absolutely perfect!

The Six Senses Laamu is absolutely perfect!
The service, the food and the stuff that just got every little detail on point.
Prepare to pay more than you stay rate for extras though but it’s totally worth it! Will definitely come back here.

From start to finish it was fantastic, you're allocated a guest experience manager on arrival who will support you with activities and restaurant bookings. 10/15 minutes from amazing reefs for snorkelling and the food is fantastic.

We wanted to stay longer, but didn't like the idea of multiple PCR tests. We're already thinking about when we can go back.

All the team at six sense laamu are amazing and super friendly. The over water rooms are beautiful. The food is wonderful. We especially loved the beach side lobster dinner and the Asian market dinner on the beach. The surf team is extremely helpful navigating the waves and the spa/massage team were incredible as well. We would definitely go back again and again!

Great experience from start to finish! Get a laamu pool overwater bungalow- its worth every penny! Our GEM Afrah was incredible and really made the trip extra special. All the staff for the most part were great and all go above and beyond to help you, and make sure you have everything you need. Only 2 cons I can think of: The WiFi isn’t great and would have liked a few more activity options that weren’t additional fees but other than that the trip was an A all around.

Gorgeous property!

The resort itself was gorgeous with main public facilities built over the water. The villa was tastefully designed with minimalist and built using eco friendly materials. Service was great and not overwhelming. The best thing is they have an ice cream parlour offer 42 types of ice cream all day. Hit the front desk and ask for their daily activities, such as watching a cinema in the night set on the beach. I would definitely go back again!

The diving was exceptional, both in terms of the dive sites (probably the best in Asia if not the world) and the dive staff (notably Danny, Steven and Nicole, all of whom were exceptionally knowledgeable, helpful and friendly). We stayed in two overwater villas, which were wonderful, very nice inside and could snorkel directly from the outdoor tanning area. Our Guest Experience Manager (Shifu) was very friendly, helpful and conscientious. Overall we had a great time!

Too beautiful for words

One of the most beautiful spots on earth. From the noise of the waves lapping around underneath the villa to the constant wildlife swimming up to our deck and the most stunning sunsets I think this place is as close to paradise as it gets. We have stayed in 5 six senses resorts but this one is head and shoulders above the others. Only word of warning is the prices while you are at the resort are very high, that said you are in the middle of the ocean!

All around wonderful experience!

When you arrive they give you a shoe bag to store your shoes and you can walk around barefoot for the rest of the time you are there. It pretty well sets the tone for a relaxing barefoot kick your shoes off feeling. They also assign you a Guest Experience Manager I think that’s what they called them but they refer to them as gems pronounced guem but we had Alex and she was a real gem with a soft g. We met many people who returned frequently which is really not surprising! The food is great! Highly recommend! I am a diver and the diving staff is top notch. There are manta rays I did not get to see conditions to choppy the day I went out. The visibility on the days I was there was not as good as when I have been more north in the Maldives but I have no idea if it was just temporary currents or normal for the area. We took a Dolphin cruise saw many dolphins had Ricky as our guide and it was a great family time!

This is one of the larger resorts in the Maldives but is still very intimate. There are a total of 95-100 villas on the island & we never felt the slightest bit crowded. The food & staff were outstanding but the prices are high. We had breakfast included which was wonderful but for lunch/dinner expect to pay $50 per person...not including drinks. Cocktails averaged close to $20/each after they add tax & gratuity. All that being said, the food was outstanding & one bartender in particular would create cocktails specially for me. His name was Linu. It was one of the most relaxing vacations my wife or i have ever experienced.

although we had booked on full board, even water was charges at meal times!
secondly, we should have been told about domestic flights. we could have done the booking ourselves, whereas, the resort offered to book us ( we do not know the name of the airport), thus overcharging us.

Best hotel in Maldives

It has been truly the most wonderful hotel I have ever stayed in. I have been in Maldives 4 times already to different resorts like Per Aquum Niyama, Huvafen Fushi, One and Only, Anantara, believe me, no one compares with Six Senses. Is better even than Six Senses Seychelles, where I have been last year.

All the staff is extremely friendly and polite, smiling all day long and trying to make your stay just perfect. Our GEM ShifuNo it just does what does it go up was the best GEM we ever had, she took care of all our needs.

One of the things that makes this hotel so special are: the care for the environment, the location, best snorkeling house reef, a lot of interesting complimentary activities such as Star gazing or sunset yoga with several doctors around the world and the concept of barefoot all around the resort. We just loved every thing about this places and we will never try different hotel in Maldives.

Romantic resort to relax and refresh!

All three of our visits have been great. We rode our bicycles around the island many times. We enjoyed the yoga classes and massages. The buffet breakfast was extra special. 42 kinds of ice cream and sorbets are offered each day for free.

AMAZING!!! Best place on earth to relax and "dis-connect" from busy modern life!! We were barefoot and pampered for one fabulous week we will never forget! This is the place to just "be" with your loved one(s) and the beauty of nature around you. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful at every turn and our GEM, Sato, took care of our every need. And if endless blue ocean and sky aren't relaxing enough, the spa is a retreat for the soul. We stayed in an over the water villa with an outdoor shower and total privacy. The food was fantastic, especially the amazing breakfast buffet. Can't wait to go back!!

Bugs at the room, Flies at restaurant

We went to Six Senses Laamu for our honeymoon. Before the trip, we were very excited and looking forward to it as Six senses laamu is a 6 stars luxury brand and online reviews are pretty good. We chose a water villa and paid a few thousand for 4 nights. However, we were very disappointed after the stay and don't recommend it to you if you don't like bugs and flies.

At the first night, I woke up at the midnight and felt very itch over the body. I got a few bites on my legs, arms, bally and back, and found a big bug just under my pillow!!! I got pretty scared. Can you image a big bug on your bed, at the 5/6 stars hotel room?! The management team came by next morning and explained that it was just a dead bee. This made me feel even more uncomfortable: 1) I didn't know where the bugs were and where they hide. I suspected it was bedbugs bite after I compared to online picture. 2) Assume it was a dead bee, why the hotel didn't clean it out before we moved in? We also found some small bugs the next evening. I had to wear cloth to sleep for the rest stay, and my husband got the different bites at lower belly and back as well. (See picture)

Secondly, the restaurants at the main area had a lot of flies. Sometimes flies even stopped at your food. It was so disgusting when you wanted to have a romantic meal.

Also, the hotel booked the air ticket back to MALE for us and made us missed our international flights. We paid additional $900 to re-schedule our flights!!

Beautiful Maldives resort

We found a great deal on this resort through Expedia and jumped at the opportunity. From LA it was a very long trip to get down there but ultimately it was well worth it when we arrived at this stunning resort. We spent 10 days at Six senses and loved every minute of it. The food was first class, the service was wonderful and very personal and everything was clean and very well maintained. The kids club was small but the staff was great and very loving towards our 7 yr old daughter. The location of this resort was amazing and our over water bungalow was spacious and very well appointed. I would highly recommend this resort!

Absolutely worth the hype. INCREDIBLE.

My husband and I spent four nights at the Six Senses after a week in India, and we had the most amazing stay. Our friends had recommended this hotel after their honeymoon earlier this year and it exceeded our expectations. As first timers to the Maldives we were not ready to commit to a 7-10 night trip but if I could do it over, we would have stayed there much longer!
From the moment we arrived at Male Airport we were blown away by the service. Our incoming flight from India was delayed so we landed in a state of panic as there was only 30 minutes until our flight for Kadhdhoo departed. Once through customs we started looking around to see where domestic departures would be when we spotted a young man with a Six Senses sign. He was fully up to speed and ready for us so once we headed his way he grabbed my luggage and we started racing through the airport as he made a phone call. A few minutes later we arrived at the Closed Kadhdhoo check-in counter which apparently he had already notified. We gave them our passports, they quickly added bag tags and we were in line for security within minutes. We received the highest level of service from our first point of contact at Six Senses all the way through our return to Male Airport at the conclusion of our stay.
There were so many things to love about the Six Senses but the big standouts for me were the water villa/outdoor shower, no shoes, breakfast buffet and the house reef where we saw sharks and an octopus and turtles. THANK YOU!

Relaxing & romantic honeymoon

Stayed here for our honeymoon and everything was top notch. The villa was spacious, comfortable, clean and fully stocked with everything we needed. Aside from the breathtaking location, the highlights of the hotel were the food (organic garden onsite where produce is grown), amenities (tons of water sports equipment at your disposal, amazing spa, gym, yoga classes, etc.) and service (friendly staff genuinely concerned with your enjoyment).

It's paradise. Laamu is definitely one of the most beautiful places i've traveled in the world!! Love the peacefulness on the island, the turquoise sea, the friendly staff, the great food, the unique design and coziness of the suite, the white sand beaches and the beautiful snorkeling grounds that are just a minute's swim from your suite.... A truly unforgettable experience. Will definitely come back in future!

Amazing hotel. Beach is nice and clean perfect for snorkling. Its big resort with around 75 villas but never felt busy even with 90% full rate. Only issue i faced was food was ok but nothing special when compared to other maldiven resorts. Also food sometimes feels slow.

Heaven on Earth

Our honeymoon at Six Senses was dreamy! The staff was kind, the resort is gorgeous and they have thought of everything! Our villa was incredible, as was the entire resort! We slept so well there in a comfortable bed, loved showering outside (privately) over the water, adored the cute sinks that look like open suitcases. We love it is an eco-resort and pro-environment. They have bottles in each villa, the spa and restrooms they refill with bath and body products for you (no wasting plastic bottles). They also have a fully stocked bar in your villa with glasses, plates, silverware, an electric tea kettle, coffee maker and refrigerator. We loved biking around on our personalized bicycles, especially at night when the jungle was lit up with lights, and every meal was delicious. We had a particularly awesome dinner at Leaf (in the organic garden on the island). The house reef is great for snorkeling, but it's even better if you can take a day trip. We visited a local island, snorkeled in the open ocean (with rays and turtles!) and went to an incredible, amazing uninhabited island. My husband went diving, and we snorkeled on a day trip and also on the sand bank. I didn't know the ocean could be so many shades of blue, and have never seen such beautiful amazing coral and so many different fish. Just when you can't think it can't get any more beautiful, you go snorkeling and it is even more incredible. Every detail at the hotel is perfection: heaven on earth!

The best resort I have ever been despite its cost. Our ocean view villa was fabulous with the best view of the ocean. The GEM system is interesting as you make all your plans and booking with only one point of contact in the hotel. Breakfast is fantastic with great variety to choose from. All restaurants are excellent! food is fresh and organic! Snorkeling and kayaking were our favorite activities. The staff is very friendly and helpful! If we ever go back to Maldives we will definitely choose Six Sense again.

This is truly a wonderful location. Resort is only a few years old. Rooms are stunning. As we were on the jetty farthest front the main facilities, we rode everywhere on the bikes provided. The food was very good but reasonably expensive. Most activities are chargeable as well. To enjoy fully, you should prepare your budget to accommodate.

While the location is further than some of the other resorts, the value for an over water villa, amenities and overall experience make this resort worth the extra speed boat ride.

The staff is attentive and anticipates your needs which is a consistent theme thoughtful the property.

It's all about the details and this place does laid back luxury superbly!

Can't wait to come back and bring a group as well!

Most relaxing and beautiful trip location I've ever been. Perfect for couples. The villa features many lounging options (6 in total, counting outdoors only). 2nd floor terrace provides great views. Dining options were limited but we especially enjoyed the Chill Bar (best bang for your buck)

Pros: 1. Quality of Service 2. Very Clean. Cons: 1. Very Expensive (Not a good value for money) 2. Far from main island (You need to pay extra $900 to get to the island from male) 3. Food is very expensive (Min $150 per person, but its not worth it). 4. We hardly had any internet connection during our stay. 5. There was minor disturbance from generator noise in the island. Overall we enjoyed our stay, but we really feel that for the same money spent, we could have got lot more value elsewhere.

Everyone I met, every staff person had a beautiful, friendly smile on their face. Everybody who works there is so wonderfully helpful with a smile For me, that made it hard to believe there really is such a place that's so Peaceful, so Relaxed, It made me feel that I was in heaven, it was so unreal. I don't know how else that I can explain how our trip made my wife and me feel? Speechless. Looking forward to going back next year. It was worth all 30 hours to get there.

Just finished my honeymoon at Six Senses Laamu and must say it was more special than I had ever hoped for. No doubt the Maldives is beautiful. But what really made our stay extra special was the amazing staff at six senses. The whole island is a joy to be on and everyone we dealt with was super happy and helpful. The villa was incredible for everything they said it would be and more. I especially liked all the complimentary mosquito repellents they offer to make your time out at night that more comfortable. The after-sun lotion and aloe era gel, also complimentary, was also really appreciated. I really felt at home in our villa.

We enjoyed all the activities we participated in, especially witnessing the sea turtles hatching. Anyway, I could go on and on about my six days at six senses; it was an amazing experience! I would recommend to anyone.

Beautiful property, in a stunning island location

The hotel is visually stunning and very well maintained. The staff are well trained and provide an excellent level of service. We arrived at the local airport at dusk in challenging weather/sea conditions and the boat transfer to the island took 60 minutes rather than the usual 15/20 minutes. The boat was in good mechanical condition and the boatman and his crew were excellent and highly competent and at no time did we feel at risk during a lengthy boat ride, in stormy conditions in the dark. They should be congratulated.

The shoreline villas and water villas all involve at least a five minute ride, (longer if you decide to walk) either by golf cart (only 2 available) or by bicycle, from the main hotel public areas. Our arrival in high winds and heavy rain did not make it easy for getting to the water villa, unpacking and then making your way back to the hotel public areas for food and beverage. The Guest Liaison Manager did his very best in most difficult conditions

The remainder of our stay on the Island was extremely pleasent and relaxing. The food was excellent throughout and the in villa dining was delivered very promptly and to a high quality. The prices throughout the hotel are certainly not cheap, but are no more expensive than other similar type properties elsewhere in the world.

Great Honeymoon Location!!

Coming from Canada - just when you think you can't take traveling any longer, you land at Male international Airport. That's when the Six Senses Laamu customer service really starts to shine! They meet you at the arrival gate and check you in for your domestic flight to a local island.

Arriving to the resort by speed boat - you are welcomed by fresh scented face towels, resort management and a refreshing drink!

The resort is beautiful and very private! You don't ever have to leave your room if you don't want to! Any pictures you see of this resort will pale in comparison to the real thing!

There are many water activities to do, the food is gourmet (very expensive but tasty!).

Everyone there makes sure your experience is the best it can be!

The resort is child friendly - a great advantage for some - but for others wanting a peaceful holiday can be considered a downside. Trying to enjoy a nice glass of wine during a romantic sunset dinner can be spoiled by a screaming child!

However - like I said you don't even need to leave your villa if you chose not to so for romance and solitude - enjoy your dinner and wine with a beautiful view from your private deck!

We would definitely recommend this resort!

This must be paradise! Our holiday at Six Sense Laamu exceeded all our expectations. A wonderful place with very friendly and attentive staff. The only criticism goes to Expedia, which incorrectly stated the transfer costs to be paid on site from the airport to the island. Maybe it's better to book your vacation directly with Six Sense to avoid this kind of surprise!
