The hotel is in the most convenient location, so many restaurants and cafes just meters away. We felt very safe. The room was so clean and the beds were very comfortable. The bathroom is a bit small but manageable. The staff were so welcoming, informative and very accommodating. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay!! Highly recommend.

I love the location of this hotel. The X95 bus from the airport stops just 5 minutes walking from the hotel. There are plenty of coffee shops, bakeries, restaurants to enjoy a meal near the hotel The room was clean and the staff who work in this hotel are cordial and helpful. I will stay at this hotel again.

Hotel room small & basic, but central, & ok for 1 night.
Breakfast was very good, though the bacon was raw, barely cooked.
Sadly the biggest flaw was that the aircon was tirally inadequate, barely cool at its lowest setting & with the highest fan on.
In Athens temperatures of 34-36°, I expected far more effectiveness.
It was uncomfortably warm overnight, so no good for getting any restful sleep.

Very good hotel

I have stayed at Aretusa Hotel before and always enjoyed my stay. It is near the Airport-Express-Busstop and has good value. My room was nice with good amenities and comfort. Breakfast was very good. One thing I did not enjoy, was that the bathroom light went off while I was taking a shower due to the motion detector that didn´t detect me moving in the shower. But all in all it was a nice stay.

The roof top area was very disappointing nothing there but a few old chairs.

Hotel is walkable to Syntagma metro and bus X95 for direct transport to/from the airport. Roof has a very good view of the Parthenon and Lycabettus Hill (must see during the day and night). Breakfast is plentiful with various options including Greek specialities from 6:30am-10am. Room is modern and clean with body wash and shampoo in dispensers, a bath robe, slippers, a small refrigerator and a safe box. Luggage storage is in the basement with option to pay 2 euro for a locked locker or leave it in the corner unmanned (staff will not give you a ticket for pick up, so it's at your own risk). Close to a KFC, McDonald's and gyro stores. On Sunday, starting around 10:40am, walk over to watch the guards march down the side of the Parliament building to the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier for changing of the guard. I would stay here again.

Nice short stay, but dated hotel.

Early check in was no problem without requesting it. Excellent location and helpful staff. Bed was ok as were the pillows.

But the hotel appears very dated, the room and bathroom clearly require an upgrade, as do the the halls and the lift. The room door would not lock, there was no signage posted anyway for emergency and fire escaping, nor a floor plan.

This hotel is in an excellent location, I walked everywhere! Bonus that it's close to the X95 bus stop, made it incredibly easy to get there from the airport. Couple of minutes away are the tram & metro stops. Breakfast was included, basic but good. Enough to fuel up for a day of sightseeing. I would stay again if/when I come back to Athens

My only issue was air-condition: when it was on it was too strong even at the lowest setting, but when I opened the window there was a loud hum, which later I found out was a giant air extractor for aircon...

Too noisy to bother

This hotel was extremely loud due to street noise, motorcycles, and other guests coming and going and slamming doors constantly.

Convenient hotel with friendly service.

The best thing about this hotel is it’s convenient location. It is so close to Syntagma station and a very easy walk from Monastiraki station. You can walk to Plaka in minutes and easily walk to the acropolis. Our room had a view of the acropolis and was especially beautiful at night. The breakfast was diverse and delicious. The room was clean. The service was friendly. My only two complaints would be that the beds are very, very hard and at least in our room the only outlet was in the bathroom or the one that the fridge was plugged in to. Therefore, if you want to charge your devices, they have to be in the bathroom or you have to unplug the fridge. In either case, your charging devices will be out of reach of the bed. All told, our stay was super convenient, service was friendly, and Arethusa proved to be a great base from which to explore Athens.

Location location location

A stop over to see family and friends. I was pleasantly surprised with the overall look and feel of the hotel. Very friendly staff. And the breakfast was of good quality under the current circumstances. Very convenient for the express airport bus. I would stay here again

Ideal location for central Athens

The location is ideal and the hotel is nice, room is ok as a place to sleep and shower, and the AC is good. However, with the current situation it might be necessary to queue up for breakfast if you arrive around 9am, or run up the stairs as the lifts get quite busy. Not a big deal.

Disppointing

First time I see a hotel that refuses to keep your luggage for a few hours after checkout. They had paying lockers instead, of course. The place is pretty run down. Only positive point - the lady serving breakfast was very nice.

Excellent location, bedroom was nice and spacious. Street noise made sleeping difficult sometimes, but that would be the case anywhere for most places in Syntagma except Ermou Street. Clean rooms and staff were nice, and helpful when asked for directions or information.

I was very impressed with facility. Room nice and clean, breakfast buffet first rate. The staff was very friendly and helpful and they held my big bag for me while I toured the city. Much appreciated. Look forward to checking in again on 21-October.
