Friendly staff very accommodating. Great location convenient to public transportation. Comfortable stay. Self serve laundry facility only had 2 sets of washer/dryers, no detergents dispensers available (must bring own). Always fully used, since hotel also house government sponsored long-term stay families with children (like public housing).

Arrived at hotel after a 16 hour drive. Checked in all good but do not understand why I manically had to fill all my data on an iPad? I did this on the online booking, so why do I have it do it again, not efficient.

Went for dinner in restaurant to be told it’s closed but I can walk down the road and find a restaurant. However next to restaurant was a room full of what looked like refugees happily eating lots of food? Should have been told at check in.

Breakfast was appalling, nothing was available, no orange juice, one slice of cheese, hot food pots empty.

But once again the room adjacent was full of food being enjoyed by whoever they were.

Will never use this hotel chain again.

There was air conditioning. Breakfast was ok but could have been more varied. Unfortunately a particular male staff was very rude at breakfast. Reception staff were very friendly and helpful. Cleaning service was unfortunately very poor for a 4* hotel and a lot of the staff could not speak English. The hotel also had asylum seekers living there too. So communal areas were shared with them (apart from the breakfast hall) If you are looking for a 4* experience I would not recommend staying here. But for a short trip. It is ok the rooms are well maintained and equipped with a microwave.

If you don’t pay for breakfast you won’t get any coffee. Only Ukrainians get free coffee. There is no coffeemaker in the room, only instant. The head waiter needs education. You should promote Andres (waiter) who knows how to treat a client. Parking is a mess. The front desk staff was not able to explain well how it functions and it was a lot of wasted time to get in and out of parking. The room is nice and clean.

Nice hotel, great staff and lovely room at a reasonable price.

As I was tired, I misunderstood the instructions given and went to the 6th floor in the wrong part of the hotel, so had to back down to find out where I should go.

I then discovered that toiletries had to be picked up at reception, but avoided another trip down at night and got them in the morning.

The staff was less than helpful. The room was hot. The air conditioner made noise all night long. The toiletries were only available if you went to the front desk. The parking was hard to find. The shower pressure was so bad…. I could barely it with get the soap out of my hair and told my 94 year old dad not to bother. The restaurant was closed. The staff at reception, less than helpful. Except for the morning girl who was friendly. The afternoon staff where more interested in their phone.
When my dad became sick … I sent a request for an early checkout. No response.

It was clean, tidy, well decorated and room was comfortable but altogether very strange - a huge hotel (long corridors and many floors) and, it seemed to me, empty. No one but myself in the cavernous breakfast/dining room. Odd and disconcerting.

Check-in wasn't working properly (that took 20 minutes). I did not see any one else check in or out.

Overall, not a pleasant experience and I would recommend the usual traveller to avoid it.

My overall stay at the property was nice, reception staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was nice and clean, and passing housekeeping staff they always said yellow and were friendly. The only negative thing is that the two times I approached the restaurant two separate members of staff were quite rude and unhelpful. This was the only thing that brought the hotel down.

did not get the room which was promised…while the booking done and confirmed was for a double king size bed, the manager said they did not have a double bed in the entire hotel… there are no telephone in the room…every time you want to call anybody in the hotel, you have to dial a telephone number from your mobile. no toiletries in the bathroom except 2 soap dispensers. They say they provide only on requests

This hotel is a scam

This was the worst stay ever at a "4 star" hotel. At first they wanted to put us into a room that wasn't meant for guests wasn't cleaned and not the sleeping arrangement we asked for. Firstly the receptionist said that they were fully booked and they couldn't do anything then the other found a room and sent the colleague to check. Apparently it was fine. The room didn’t have a kettle nor a coffee machine nor a fan not even a phone! The bathroom had no toiletries or accessories just a soap dispenser fixed to the wall at the sink and in the shower. Half of the furniture fixed to the wall is barely attached. The lighting in the room is one main light that is in the bathroom “aquarium”. In order to ask for the WiFi password I had to call reception with my own phone. The furniture is all heavily used and very worn and beat up. This is a problem since the recent pictures on the internet of the hotel show modern and recently renovated rooms. The hallway to the rooms has pieces of the panelling missing, parts broken, garbage bags lying on the floor. There is this constant whistling and whining in the room 24/7 it is very difficult to sleep and then you hear water in the pipes. Absolutely no documentation that you normally find in a hotel room to read about the hotel and services. Sadly I am limited to 8 pictures as I have so many more. I cannot believe that this is a 4 star hotel and this room cannot be a room for guests, this is why I consider it a scam for the price and rating.

The staff were all lovely, but the rooms are in need of a refurbishment. It was like being transported back to the 1980's. The bathroom is a glass box in the bedroom, with a huge gap all around the top. It's not ideal for privacy if there are more than one person in the room, you hear everything!

We were there with friends. Their shower door was missing, ours leaked, the trash can was broken, cup and soap holders were almost torn off the wall, the carpet had some places where unraveling was evident, the battery in the room safe was dead. This is not acceptable for a Best Western Hotel that usually stands for quality. We were disappointed and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

Basic acceptable room, but services are extremely poor. No concierge or luggage facilitation to and from room. Amenities only available through reception on request and collection at the desk itself. Bed sheets only replaced every 2 days irrespective of state. Water put in room “if available”. Toilet paper to be asked for to be replenished. Breakfast is served and dinning is in a canteen format with extremely limited options (unchanged options every day) - not worth the money at all. Overall it is extremely clear the hotel is cutting costs everywhere - the number of staff covering the hotel is shockingly low (5-10 max). Would not recommend.

I had a problem trying to park since the barrier would not lift, I could not reach the reception on the phone and so abandoned my car in front of the barrier but managed to finally reach them on the phone. They were aware I was trying to park since I pulled up in front of reception to ask where the car park was. No apology was given, only the excuse that the front desk was busy, so the call was ignored. Room was comfortable and restaurant ok but felt portions could have been bigger and no bread was served with the meal ( or offered).

Our room was really big, comfortable beds, heating not working but they provided us with an electric heater (was also offered to change room but couldn't due to our time schedule), bathroom clean, shower size great but the cubicle/floor is very slippery while showering.will return if needed

Remember need me of a bigger scale student accommodation or a travelodge 20 yrs ago
V Expensive for the quality of room but no complaints about size of room or cleanliness. The place had no feel or character unfortunately - clinical and bland and empty feel to what could be a 5 star +++ pad inna very convenient location.

Given room with twin beds when booked a king size. Did change for us but only gave us 1 key when jnitially asked and given 2 keys for first (wrong) room. No coffee replenished on 2nx day even though dirty cups replaced so knew we had used coffee. No smiles from reception staff when saying morning. Upon check.out, mentioned lack of coffee...no reaction other than sorry. No offer of a coffee from elsewhere. .would have been nice.
Overall, clean room, inexpensive, good base.

We stayed at this hotel because of its closeness to the conference centre my friend and I had requested twin budded room and were not very pleased that the room was going to be a double bed also the fact that we had book in February and paid we did expect our request to be honoured but aft a bit of negotiation we did get a twin bedded room at an extra cost the room was not cleaned the next day and when we got back the cleaners had finished,next day after being out all day got back and cleaner had not finished the rooms suggested we go and have coffe to let her clean which was fair ,we had to go to the desk to ask about something else and the receptionist said so sorry and gave us a voucher for the and coffe.The hotel overall was of a good standard but perhaps a few little touches would make it better

Did manage to park in the surrounding streets and relocated the car into an available space the following morning. The hotel is neat with immaculate spacious rooms. BE AWARE, room's toilet without a ceiling

It's the first time I came across a room with a toilet completely inside the room, with just a (more or less) 230cm glass wall. No ceiling included. If you find this unhygienic and you want to "upgrade", consider paying 20 pounds per night more. By the way, none of the staff members understand what hygiene means. Also, pictures are misleading as the inside of the toilet shown in the standard room, is from the comfort one.

The hotel is very conveniently located, in a quiet area with a tram stop just outside.
It is aimed mostly at business people, rather than families. The restaurant menu is a bit limited and has no kids section, but the food was very good.

The receptionists are very friendly and helpful. It has very good free wifi. But the hotel is very consumed. Too small old TV. Service charge for everything. The room keepers keep forgetting to put new soap new shampoo and shower gel and tissues. I have to ask them every other day for these stuffs.

I've stayed here a few times. This time, upon check-out, the staff presented me with a small bottle of wine .. to celebrate my birthday. I thought that was very helpful.

The hotel is right next to the train station, very handy if arriving late at night. The rooms are fairly big.

The hotel itself is a bit faded and could do with refurbishment, but it met my needs. I wouldn't want to stay there more than a few nights. No shop nearby.

Main reason for selection is convenience

Have used this hotel many times. Although I would rate this hotel well into 'positive territory', there is one thing that has bothered many people who have stayed there, which is the poor lighting in the room. Over the many years that this was known and made known to management, it was never resolved, i.e. it seems that it does not score high on their priority list. That is a real pity. Otherwise, the hotel is fine for the price one has to pay. Breakfast choice is strictly European, which I find odd, as they must know that the occupants are from all over the world. They should improve on that.

Very handy for the European Patent Office (even walkable). No convenient place to meet clients for a chat - only a few chairs and tables scattered around. My room smelled of drains and had sealed windows so the smell was difficult to clear. Limited range of food on the menu but of reasonable quality. Milk for the coffee would have been nice in the breakfast room. General range of breakfast quite good.

It was a very nice experience. My only concern is that the parking is not clearly marked for the hotel. I didn't know where to go and it is confusing to get there from the road even with GPS. However, the hotel attendant on duty promptly walked out onto the back when I called, showed me the way and kindly helped me with the luggage. This minor issue was cleared in quite a pleasant and courteous manner.

Good hotel in a meh neighborhood

This hotel is located in Rijswijk, a neighborhood 3 train stops (many more stops if taken by tram instead) from the Den Haag Central station (downtown The Hague). We stayed there for 2 nights over New Years Eve. Turns out The Netherlands stops all train service at 8pm on NYE and resume them at 1am the next day. But a train from Den Haag Central back to Rijswijk won't be available until 6am in the morning. That means, we have no means of going back to the hotel besides the taxi. I asked if a bicycle won't be good transportation back to hotel. The front desk said yes and it is only 7 Euro for a day. We went out to eat and came back later to only find out that all the bikes have been reserved. That made us felt a bit frustrated because the front desk didn't warn us that the bikes would be reserved full so soon.

So taxi was the only option, but it was 30 Euros one way, therefore 60 Euros round trip from hotel to downtown. We thought that was overpriced, but it was NYE, so what can we do. If you plan to do a lot of activities in downtown, especially if during holiday, do not stay here as it is not in a nearby neighborhood.

If you need to be in the close area for business then it is ok but there is very little to do around the place.
For any sort of atmosphere better to stay in The Hague with decent transport links to Rijswijk.

Pleasant stay, good access but lack of restaurants

Opted for this hotel as close to large shopping area, free parking, price and access to main road.

Overall I enjoyed the stay, with the hotel being clean and comfy.
The staff were friendly/polite and had maps available. Other useful tourist leaflets were also available.

The car park is quite small and on the first night it was hard to find a parking space. there was a lot of walking in the hotel from the car park and in general & lifts need to be used.

The evening meal we had was very nice; but breakfast is very expensive. Unfortunately on the first day the bread felt and tasted old and when I asked the waitress from other white bread nothing was available. The other 2 days no issues with breakfast.

Room was spacious and nice; but the beds were too hard for me. The bathroom was nice and clean; but it was not very private due to its design.

The shopping area was good; but after the shops closed all the restaurants closed and there was a lack of places to go for food in the evening that was near the hotel.

Surprised to find hotel was situated next to a tram line and railway so got the chance to do some additional things in The Haag.

Over all a good hotel to be recommended

The only problem -- which was also the case during our previous stay -- was the furnishing of only one face cloth for two persons and we had to ask twice during the stay to get a second one.

A big plus: Railway station is five minutes by foot. Very convenient to connect with Rotterdam, Amsterdam, Schiphol airport etc.

A big minus: Only halal food available, hence imposed. The lack of choice for real bacon with eggs or real ham is very disturbing in a free multicultural country, the reason for which we evaluate at 4/5 the hotel service.

The place was clean, room was comfortable. I had a business room, mini-bar had something for every taste and some small snacks. WiFi worked well. What I disliked was that the bathroom/toilet is actually "in the room", i.e. not a separate enclosure. It is only separated from the rest of the room by a glass partition a little over 2 m tall. I was there on a personal visit, so only me and my wife were staying, and had no visitors. But I wouldn't like to share it as a twin room with someone else, or to have any business associate visit the room. Another shortcoming of the hotel is the parking. The booking and the description say parking is included, but the parking spots available are VERY limited. In case you don't arrive at an opportune moment when one spot is empty, you will have to find a spot on the street to park. The area where I was guided to by the hotel staff (Lange Kleiweg) is normally a paid parking which is free on Sundays and nights (which also the staff were not really sure of) when it is very difficult to find an empty spot. I did luckily find the lone empty spot and could park there. The next day (Sunday) in the evening I was able to find a free spot on Treubstraat a couple of hundred meters away. I am not sure if one can find a free spot there on weekdays. I can not even remotely call this as 'parking included' if I have to myself search for an empty spot where I might have to pay extra and I have to drag the luggage a few hundred meters.

Nice Hotel close to Rijswik station and EPO

Phone was in the toilet. So when they rang in the morning for wake up I had to get out of bed. That's why room comfort is only 3.
Apart from that, nice staff and good cleaning.
Restaurant expensive but very good and fast serving..

Fantastic hotel

This was a great hotel. The rooms were very comfortable and had everything you could possibly need. Staff were great and very helpful. You do have to share with someone you know very well due to toilet location in the room.

Very nicely put together place and the staff was lovely. Rooms are clean and trendy, but not quite as functional as they are pretty. For example, the window cover did not completely block the sun. So as soon as the sun came up in the morning, the sun was in my eyes. Also, the bathroom walls were semi-transparent and do not go all the way up to the ceiling so when my husband turned on the light in the middle of the night to use the restroom, the whole room was lit up. Overall good value for money and I would stay again (but in a room facing west).

Close for train & business

Staff are extremely helpful, and ready to assist in what ever way they can. For me, a front desk member visited a pharmacy as I was ill, and unable to travel myself. Room was comfortable, and the location opposite Rijswijk station means it is convenient for train, trams & buses.

Absolutely nothing wrong with this hotel. Everything is in good order. Rooms are a good size and the staff pleasant. However it is a pure business hotel and totally misses any soul and for that reason it can't be rated more that "OK"

Very good experience at the Grand Winston

We used this hotel on two occasions. During the first time, arrival was a little complicated in that we arrived by car and had some difficulty in finding our way around to arrive at the lobby. After that, it was easy and the staff very helpful. The room was very modern and clean. If there is one area of critisism, it is the TV which was of ancient design (old tube type), however, we were not there to watch TV and therefore not bothered by it.

Great Weekend Hotel Deal in Rijswijk, Holland

The weekend rates are superb; week day rates are expensive. Fortunately I stayed over the weekend. Breakfast was expensive, but very good.
