Staff were brilliant and polite, our room was clean and well maintained, the resort is beautiful - we loved the private beach! Breakfast was lovely and well stocked. We really enjoyed our Honeymoon at Santa Marina!

Love this property! They have the best beach and the only sand beach in Mykonos. All the staff is amazing. The rooms are large and with a beautiful view of the ocean. The Buddha Bar restaurant has a great variety of dishes and a nice ambiance.
We will come back again soon!

problems with checking in and being downgraded a room category without even being told about. Eventually managed to check in to the correct room category which still had dirty glasses in the room.
the cleaning of the room on a daily basis was really poor with often dirty dishes and glasses just being left behind. people knocking on the door and trying to come when there is a do not disturb sign (which was missing from the room in the first place and had to request one). all in all not the right level of service from a five star hotel

WORST hotel staff for a 5 star hotel. Do not recommend if you’re looking for the utmost standard in luxury hotels especially from someone who travels several times per month. Better off staying in a villa and hiring your own staff.

Elevator always broken so you had to walk up and down huge steps to get anywhere. Free shuttle from town-forget it. 12:05 shuttle back to hotel was 1/2 hour late so we got picked up at 12:30 am and the little shuttle bus was not big enough so two 6-4 men had to climb in trunk of bus for 20 minute ride back to hotel. No joke.
Waiter asked if we wanted water when we sat down-only to find out when check came that we were charged US $14.70 FOR WATER! We talked to guest relations and they did absolutely nothing. And, in room they have Welcome Card by coffee maker. Open card-blank inside. So we made two cups of coffee. Only to find out that each coffee pod was 4 euro. Ridiculous.
All of this-go somewhere else. Plenty of 5 star places to stay. Every waiter, every person who worked there had their hand out for tips. They nickle and dime you. Go somewhere else-plenty of other places to choose from. Dinner, drinks and lunch was so expensive for what you got. $12 US for a beer. Ordered Cod for dinner-fifteen minutes later waiter came back and said they were out of cod so he wanted to sell me a more expensive red fish. Run from this place!

Take me back to Santa Marina

Second stay in 3 weeks . Had gone to Menorca, but weather was bad so bailed out and high tailed it back to Santana M .
The room was not as nice (small ) as first time and had bit of a persistent musty smell (air con filter?). Otherwise lying by pool, looking down on beach and up to hotel and stunning blue sky beyond was just marvellous. Ate at Buddha Bar . Certainly as good as any restaurant on the island . Expresso Martinis there definitely the best . Saturday night turned out to be Party Night . Great music . Great crowd . Great fun.

Wow

The Santa Marina offers a perfect place to relax and recharge. The rooms are beautiful and clean with great views over the bay.
The gym is well equipped for those that wish to use it.
The Bhuddha bar is a great place to eat at night and during the day is a lovely beach restaurant. The beach bar staff are very friendly as well as the reception staff.
If you want to relax then the Santa Marina is for you.

The Santa Marina is an exquisite resort hotel. If you want to be removed from the hustle and bustle of the island, have some quite solitude on a private beach and feel a bit indulgent, then it's perfect. My husband and I, though, prefer to feel a bit more connected to the local scene than the Santa Marina allows. One must take a taxi or the hotel shuttle into town, or to the popular beaches. The restaurant on site, the Buddha Bar, is high quality and absolutely delicious, but it's very expensive. A short walk will get you to dinner at great eateries that cost a lot less.

Beautiful property away from the bustle

This Starwood luxury property is a modern oasis in Mykonos. Being in the town of Ornos, a 10 minute drive from the great shopping and splendor of old town, makes this property quiet and an oasis from the chaos of the masses. The property is about a half hour walk to the old town - not recommended due to dangerous streets (narrow, crazy drivers, twisty turns, no sidewalks, etc.). Th eproperty has two nice pools and a private sea-side beach. Also a Buddha Bar associated with the one in Paris - but quite tame and closes for the winter in late September. Very nice breakfast buffet. Free wifi, but poor bandwidth in the rooms.

Beach front resort in a delightful setting

This is an excellent beach front resort in a delightful setting with fabulous views. The design and layout is pleasing and the property is generally well finished and maintained but is difficult to negotiate for anyone who has a problem moving about. Room and bathroom quality is excellent as are the beds which are extremely comfortable. Food quality is of a high standard. So it is a great pity that the quality of staff fails to match the above standards. Our party preferred to stay around the main pool during the day rather than go to the beach. However, it's clear that the management pay little attention to the pool area and encourage guests to go down to the beach. On both the Friday and Saturday during our stay, a wedding had been booked and the pool area became a thoroughfare for all the equipment for the weddings to the point where it became impossible to enjoy a quiet morning by the pool. The management clearly did not have a system in place to deal with this and when it was brought to their attention, the response was more confrontational and defensive rather than a sincere attempt to appease our party. For a hotel with a 5 star rating this was unacceptable. Some of the waiting staff were very pleasant and did their best to live up to the hotel's rating, but others seemed unhappy to be there and provided service begrudgingly. This inconsistency in service let down the hotel and marred what should have been a relaxing and hassle-free stay.

good service, amazing breakfast included. location was a little out of the way as it was on the end of the island, but there was a free shuttle to town, easy access to the water taxi to access nearby beaches, and plenty of bus service, and the private beach was very much worth the location. Staff was very friendly, restaurants all very good, and bar tended Alex was amazing, she took great care of us!

Amazing resort

My daughter and I stayed here for 3 nights and had a wonderful stay. Wold not change a thing. Picked us up at airport, had a lovely sunset dinner by the sea and the beauty continued. Beautiful private beach, amenities and so very peaceful. Wonderful buffet brunch each morning overlooking the sea. Will stay again next visit which will,probably be next year.

Wonderful, hotel away from the crowds of tourists

Upon check-in, we were served a delightful welcome cocktail and were told that we had been upgraded to a nicer room. The room was comfortable, clean and well decorated. The private patio was quite large with a beautiful water view. The staff were attentive and the breakfast served each morning was beyond expectations. The service on the beach was lacking (we had to go up to the bar instead of being served on the beach loungers) but it was the end of the season and they only had one person working so we didn't mind. There were not enough people at the beach to need two people.

Wonderful hotel in almost every way, and only private beach in Mykonos. Couple of warnings: 1) if you dislike stairs, there are a lot to get to the beach. 2) Semi-frequent bus service to Mykonos Town (but you can get cheap taxis). Ornos is nice but small. Nonetheless, definately recommend.

Great Hotel, Awful Service

While we loved the location and hotel itself, the service was WAY below marginal. We had to beg to get drinks by the pool and other than a couple of instances when we were at a restaurant everything took 3 times longer than it should have to get food or drink.

While I think the hotel is a nice place to stay, they could get rid of half their staff if they just had 5 people actually working hard around there -- probably would be able to drive the price of stay down too.

A superb choice

We enjoyed our 5 days here immensely. The resort is in a superb location, we loved being in Ornos and walked into the local village every evening for dinner. The staff were efficient and courteous. The breakfasts were long and leisurely and the food was of a good quality. The only negative was that we wished to go into Mykonos each day for a walk around the sights, and the hotel only has one shuttle into the town during the day. Surely, with the amount that we pay for a room, and the amount of people staying there, they could organise a shuttle into town a little more often than once daily. Since the town was only 5 mins away by car, it's not too much to ask.

Just remember this hotel is built on a hillside, and if you want ocean views you need to be on a hill side and yes there are stairs you must climb to get you from point a to point b.

The private beach at the resort has finer sand than Paradise (which was very coarse). The private beach was situated such that it blocked most of the winds but not all, which was just fine.

The included breakfast buffet was more than adequate to get you through the day. The Air conditioning and internet were a bonus.

There are no pay phones, so you'll need to pay the minute fee if you plan on using your calling card.

Ornos bay is just 3 blocks down the hil, an easy walk for lunch or dinner or to get the bus. However, I would recomend paying for a taxi 10euro to Mykonos town, or 14euro to paradise.

Nossa experiência no Santa Marina Mykonos foi simplesmente excepcional do início ao fim. O hotel consegue reunir, ao mesmo tempo, sofisticação, conforto genuíno e um serviço extremamente humano e atencioso — algo que nem sempre se encontra, mesmo em hotéis de altíssimo padrão. Fomos recebidos com uma hospitalidade impecável e tivemos a grata surpresa de receber um upgrade para um dos melhores quartos do hotel, além de diversas amenidades ao longo da estadia, todas preparadas com muito cuidado e atenção aos detalhes. O quarto era impecável: extremamente confortável, silencioso, muito bem equipado e com uma vista realmente deslumbrante. Aliás, as vistas do hotel como um todo são um espetáculo à parte e ajudam a tornar a experiência ainda mais especial. A estrutura também impressiona bastante. Hotel extremamente limpo e bem cuidado, ótima academia, excelente serviço de praia e áreas comuns muito agradáveis. O restaurante merece destaque especial: comida excelente, ambiente lindo e serviço no mesmo nível do restante da experiência. Mas o verdadeiro diferencial do Santa Marina está nas pessoas. Gostaríamos de registrar um agradecimento especial à Adelaida e ao Konstatino, do Guest Service, sempre extremamente gentis, eficientes e genuinamente preocupados em tornar nossa estadia memorável. Da mesma forma, Poli e Gregori, do Beach Bar, foram incríveis durante toda a experiência — atenciosos, simpáticos e impecáveis no atendimento. Foi uma das melhores experiências que já tive.

Quando cheguei ao hotel com a minha esposa fui muito bem recepcionado e bem instalado no meu quarto do hotel. Achei a estrutura do local fantastica, a praia , a piscina, o restaurante, o hotel e o quarto. O servico em um geral foi bom, tirando um fato que aconteceu na nossa estadia.
Eu aluguei um Smart eletrico na locadora Hertz no aeroporto, como carro eletrico nao é uma coisa que eu estou acostumado, DURANTE A ESTADIA O HOTEL SIMPLESMENTE SE RECUSOU EM CARREGAR O CARRO ELETRICO. Nao fui bem tratado pela gerente do hotel, nao resolveram meu problema . E ERA SIMPLESMENTE COLOCAR O CARRO NA TOMADA, NAO POSSUIA MISTERIO NENHUM.

Gestione ombrelloni inimmaginabili per un 5 stelle

Nulla da dire sulla posizione e sul cibo, anche se i ristoranti sono un po' cari.
Pessima pero' la gestione della spiaggia con il 90% degli ombrelloni riservati dall'addetto anche ai proprietari degli yacht ormeggiati nella baia, per cui pur essendo ospiti dell'hotel ci si sentiva rispondere che non c'era posto. Se a questo si aggiunge che bisognava prendere da se' i teli da mare e che pur scendendo presto a riservare un ombrellone lo si trovava poi occupato, si ha l'idea dello sconcerto e della rabbia con cui si iniziava ogni giornata (tanto da integrare gli estremi per vacanza rovinata). Le camere sono arredate con sufficienza e con un condizionatore rumoroso posto di fianco alla testiera del letto e non hanno privacy perche' la terrazza di pertinenza e' attraversata dal personale e dagli altri ospiti che di tanto in tanto fanno anche capolino. Non e' un 5 stelle e non vale il prezzo che si paga.

Superior-Zimmer?

Um es gleich vorweg zu nehmen, wir würden das Santa Marina von der Lage und vom Angebot her jederzeit wieder wählen. Dass wir ein ZImmer erhalten haben welches nicht der Grösse eines Superior-Standart entsprochen hat, hat uns negativ überrascht! Auf unsere Intervention hin, dass wir ein anderes Zimmer wünschen, hat man uns mitgeteilt, dass das Hotel ausgebucht ist. Im Nachhineien konnten wir aber feststellen, dass dies nicht der Fall war. Entäuschende Haltung eines 5-Sterne Hauses.
Vermutlich ist das ja so, dass die \"guten\" Zimmer primär den Reiseveranstalter zugeteilt werden und was übrig bleibt denjenigen welche über hotels.com gebucht haben.

Albergo sicuramente di lusso anche se le camere non sono arredate come un cinque stelle. Sicuramente più adatto alle famiglie che intendono trascorrere la maggior parte del tempo all'interno del complesso che è dotato di due piscine, due ristoranti e spiaggia privata.
