Friendly hotel in the middle of town with secure parking and a good bar/restaurant. The room was on the small side, but at the rear of the hotel was very quiet. The staff really make the experience, lovely and clearly hard-working. Good breakfast too.

We stayed there because of it's proximity to Oradeur sur Glane. It's only about 7 miles away. The town is very charming and the parking was free. The town shuts down on Sundays. There was only one restaurant open and that was our hotel restaurant.

We selected this hotel to visit Orador sur Glane and also Cassinomagus. The location of the hotel is close to both. The hotel is inexpensive and a very good value. The front rooms could be noisy but our back room facing a garden was very quiet. The rooms are small and no storage space. The breakfast also a good value and very pleasant room. No elevator. Walk up! The restaurant on premise is more formal / expensive. We found it difficult to find other good places to eat and went to the pizza place twice. We went several outdoor cafes to have a drink and like all others in France...the experience was tainted with HEAVY smokers everywhere. One must sit inside to avoid the smoking. Even the hotel staff smokers hang out near the entrance to smoke.

Overnight stay en route to Dordogne with secure car park. Probably closer to 2 star but good value. Hotel was basic and clean with very friendly reception but great surprise with top quality three course evening meal merited a free drink for the chef.

I stayed 2 nights whilst my partner was in the local hospital. My only gripe regarding my room was the bright lighting, no way to just have one smaller dimmer light either side of the bed, it was brilliant bright light or nothing! Otherwise hotel definitely needs to get new carpets, all badly worn, faded and dated.

This is a tired old hotel. Carpets worn and faded throughout, decor a couple of decades out of date. The layout is very confusing and there is no lift which made it very difficult with pram / baby stuff. The shower was very poor - broken shower head and inconsistent temperature. The service was ok but bizarrely timid. The neighbourhood is very quiet and we won't be going back to le boeuf rouge

Pleasant stay near Oradour
We had a pleasant one night stay at Le Boeuf Rouge after visiting Oradour-sur-Glane. Unfortunately when we arrived (at check-in time) the hotel was closed, so we had a walk around the town until it opened. The reception staff were helpful, however spoke no English so our French was put to the test. The rooms were suitable for a one night stay, were clean and well-presented. The bathrooms were basic, but clean. The bar was a quiet place to sit for a drink before dinner, and the restaurant itself is worth eating in. Our evening meal was very good, with a wide range of menu choices. Service was pleasant, and the meals were served at a good pace (not too quick, we like to relax). We would definitely recommend the mushroom dishes - absolutely lovely!

Stayed here on way back up from Bordeaux. Room nice and clean, lots of hot water. Restaurant meal very good, excellent steaks with side dish of cepes. Good choice on buffet style breakfast. Good stopping off point.

A most enjoyable stay in an excellent hotel. My room was spacious and very clean with the added benefit of Air Conditioning. The bathroom was very clean and well maintained and the fact that the hotel has an outdoor swimming pool was a enormous plus. The buffet breakfast could have been a bit more varied but on the whole the food was very good. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. 10/10

Good restaurant, good staff, clean rooms. Some corridor carpets a bit threadbare but rooms good standard. Standard \"Confort\" rooms are a bit small (although often have a good bath!) Best to get Deluxe \"Confort Plus\" - it's not much more. Restaurant good - I travel all the time and I look forward to it.

Hôtel confortable en plein centre de St Junien. Les chambres sont toutefois fort petites et je n'ai jamais réussi à faire fonctionner la clim... Sa situation en ville en fait également un hôtel assez bruyant. Le parking est trop petit et peu facile d'accès, mais des stationnements sont possibles en ville à proximité.

Wohl etwas Glückssache, ob man ein altes oder neuer renoviertes Zimmer bekommt. Wir hatten leider eines mit 80er Jahre Charme, dem man das Alter ansehen konnte. Laute, aber funktionierende Klimaanlage. Super ist der Paktplatz, selbst als er am späteren Abend voll bestzt war, bot sich im Hinterhof noch eine Möglichkeit, das Auto zu platzieren. Der Parkplatz wird über die Nacht abgesperrt.

Le seul hic c'est le bruit de la rue et le bruit du 4e étage. On était chambre 407. Si on doit revenir on le saura. Personnel agréable et bienveillant. Chambre très confortable. Bonne literie. Propre. Petit déjeuner copieux. A refaire si besoin ou à conseiller.

Voor het onbijt betaalden we 10€/persoon, maar toen we het buffet bezochten was alles bijna op, het buffet was heel beperkt, cornflakes, yoghurt, 1 stokbroodje, amper charcuterie, fruitsla(doorweekt, alles smaakte hetzelfde), 2 croissants, een paar sneetjes brood. Denk dat er onvoldoende personeel was maar de kamer was mooi en netjes en het personeel heel vriendelijk !

Hôtel pratique et charmant
Avec mon compagnon, nous avons passé un séjour agréable de 5 jours au Bœuf rouge. L'hôtel se situe tout à côté de la vieille ville et donne sur la place centrale. Nous avons hautement apprécié le service irréprochable et l'amabilité de toute l'équipe. La piscine est bien entretenue comme les chambres. La clim est très silencieuse. Les matelas confortables. La bouilloire et les sachets de thé et d'infusion ont été plus que bienvenus. Le petit déjeuner est copieux et gourmand et il est à un prix ultra correct. Le cake maison était un pur délice ! Seuls bémols concernant la chambre : il faut être souple pour entrer ou sortir des WC, tant l'ouverture de la porte laisse peu de place et nous n'avons pas eu le plaisir de dormir avec la fenêtre ouverte, car notre chambre donnait sur un rond pont très fréquenté.

Malgré la conjoncture du covid avec tout ce que cela génére comme impossibilités de faire leur travail, l'acceuil et le service sont au rendez-vous, la tenue de l'hôtel très correct. Ils arrivent à nous proposer un repas servi en chambre au prix de 3 étages a pieds , j'imagine l'état de leur santé.
Donc un énorme bravo a toute la profession, soutenons et aidons nos métiers en France.
