The hotel is in bad state. The room windows looked unto a metal fence with people walking by (what would it take to landscape it?). The pool deck was in pretty bad shape and in parts covered up with plastic turf. What is offered does not match the fee charged

Poor hotel for expensive price

Expensive for this kind of hotel. I wasn't able to sleep as you can hear from your room all the kids running in the corridor.. Very ugly pool and cheap hotel.

Nothing special about this place. The room was old and drab. We only stayed one night and didn’t use any of the outdoor facilities so can’t speak to that, but we were unimpressed with the room. The shower had barely any water pressure and spilled out onto the bathroom floor because there was no shower door. The rest of the night we had to wear our shoes because of how slippery the floor got.

an OK place, nothing special

We are satisfied overall with the hotel as we had only 1 night there. the check in staff were friendly and we were told one price for the breakfast. But when we had breakfast the next morning, the price was different and the person in charge in the Breakfast room was not friendly at all.

The hotel is nice, but needs some TLC. Our windows in the room were pretty grimy (from the sea?) and we had to request a kettle... then cups... then spoons for our room. The staff were nice and helpful though. The breakfast was pretty average. It’s a cheap and cheerful hotel that could do with a little updating.

This hotel does the job of being a base for tourists visits to Sur, the coast, turtles and wadis. But they really need to drop the words 'beach' and 'resort' from the name. The pool is tiny. That's the end of the resort. And the beach is a gravel and then seaweed coastline separated from the hotel by chicken-wire fence and a public footpath.
Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Food was fine with a good choice of breakfast items. Easy to access the hotel from the Muscat road.

Wonderful hotel. I loved it! For the price you get a hotel on the beach and can hear the waves at night. How on earth is this only a 3 star? Breakfast was wonderful with many choices. Can’t wait to return.

The pool area and garden was in poor condition, The green awning by the pool for shade was ripped and needs replacing badly. The bar was terrible as it was a full on smoking bar and smelt of cigarette smoke the moment you entered. The non smoking area in the bar was tiny and a joke. They need to change that and make a nice bar for non smokers.

The room was clean, simple, and comfortable but a bit dated (physical keys are still used!). The bathroom seemed to be renovated though with a big tub. We had a beach view with a small balcony, but the beach is not very nice with lots of seaweed and some trash visible during low tide. The onsite restaurant was ok/a little bland and overpriced for what you get. There are not very many dining options and no tourist sites within walking distance. Overall, it fit our needs for two nights in Sur.

Very Friendly staff, clean rooms. We had two rooms annexed with a lounge which was good value and suited our family needs, sea view. However, the rooms are dated and in much need of makeover. These rooms were not in the main hotel but in an annexe further down on the hotel site, they did suffer from road noise as no soundproofing. Comfortable, wifi and international television, water provided. Breakfast was good choice. Expect that the rooms in the main hotel building may have improved our experience.
BBQ buffet on both nights which was the only option provided for dinner in the restaurant,

On the Beach

We wanted to be on the beach - and we were! The waves of the Arabian Gulf lapping on the shore just 25 metres from our bedroom window. A nice, friendly place in the Arabic style. Great chicken tikka masala for dinner. And a greatv place to base yourself to visit the surrounding area.

It is a nice place right next to the water. It is a bit dated. Also, if you book a standard room, the bed is a little small for 2 people. Make sure to get an ocean view.

Very nice place to stay.

The staff were very friendly & helpful, and the hotel was right on the beach. The street-side neighborhood has seen better days, and Sur’s activity areas are too far to walk. If I come to Sur again, I will survey choices for more convenient lodging, but I would certainly include Sur Beach Holiday for consideration.

Nice Hotel on the Beach

Sur Beach Holiday is a little worn, but still comfortable. It is a good place to stay in an area with limited options - although there appear to be more and more new places to stay popping up in and around Sur. The staff were excellent, helped us with recommendations, and the dinner we had at the Turkish fish restaurant on the water one town over was perfect. The rooms have balconies overlooking the beach - although be prepared for mosquitoes. Make sure to order the complimentary fruit basket when you arrive. It was also my birthday, and the staff brought me a very large birthday cake! Expedia bookings do not come with breakfast included in the rate.

I will go back when I visit Sur again!

The food was good from the hotel. (Seafood platter) I loved the complementary fruit basket and water bottles. Beautiful ocean view room. We could sleep with peaceful wave sounds. It was abit annoyed when other people closes their room door. Great service by hotel staffs. Hard to find the good food nearby the hotel.

Great for a pitstop along the coast.

We stayed here for one night on our trip down the coast from Muscat. The hotel was clean, the wifi worked, the service was nice. Great view of the sea. There unfortunately aren't a lot of options for dining in the area, like the best thing that was suggested was a full half hour away. It's good for a pitstop but not much if that's what you're looking for.

Bad food; Housecleaning left my door open all day

75% of the food here is very bad. Also, I came back one day from work and found that my door was left open. Anybody could have walked in and stolen my passport, money, computer. They apologized and gave me a free Sprite and some below-average dates. Would not stay again

The hotel itself is in good condition and seems well maintained, the staff is very friendly and serviceable, the rooms are comfortable and quiet. The AC seems to stay on so the room was already cool when we arrived. The view onto the sea is nice and quite near, you could throw a stone into it from the balcony. However it is only for the view and for walking along the beach: you probably won't bathe there because the water is a bit murky and loaded with fragments of algae, the beach is more rocky than sandy, and it is littered with rubbish and dead sealife. You can instead go to the pool, which is a bit small given the size of the resort (it gets busy) but clean and has a deep 210cm end. The restaurant serves decent food but as you would expect, the prices for it are very steep -- we paid OMR 17 for two starters, main courses and drinks. The tables were rather dirty even after the staff wiped ours, and the room was really noisy due to its size and the number of families with little kids who shared it with us. You'd be better off eating out, we had dinner at Zaki's as there happens to be one right next door by the beach. We got tasty kebabs and shawarmas, two bowls of fries and fresh juices for OMR 3 there: easy maths. All in all, good rooms for a decent price, perfect for a base to just sleep while exploring the region. We would stay there again.

Very nice beach hotel

Perfect location: no noise apart from that of sea waves, uninterrupted sea view from the room, the restaurant and the hall. Very helpful staff. Far from city centre, but taxis are cheap in Sur and we never wanted a hotel in the noisiest part of Sur anyway. Very good buffet breakfast with a lot of choice. Good value for money.

Nice hotel on the edge of town on the beach

I have stayed at this hotel on several occasions for business in Sur. As it is on the edge of town, just on the Muscat side of Sur, it is particularly convenient for visitors to the Sur Industrial Estate which is on the same side of town. The town centre is however not far away, only 5-10 minutes by car.

Somewhat outdated but fine as stop over

Hotel was fine, if somewhat costly for the decor and general facilities, as it is in need of a make over. I had come from the Chedi however. It was fine as a one night stopover on a road trip from Muscat round to Wadi Bani Khalid. I was pleased I'd chosen this over other hotels in the centre of Sur which looked noisy and this has a lovely sea view from our room which was not to be beaten.

Das Zimmer war riesig mit einer kleinen Küche und Balkon zum Strand. Leider alles in einem eher desolaten Zustand, mal vom Bett abgesehen. Es gab weder einen Fön noch einen Wasserkocher um sich schnell einen Kaffee/Tee zu machen. Steckdosen sind auch Mangelware und haben nur britisches Format.Die Grünanlagen ziemlich verbrannt, der Pool macht keinen einladenden Eindruck und auch kein direkter Strandzugang (war verschlossen). Das Frühstücksbuffet war etwas enttäuschend. Wer indisches Frühstück mag, kommt aber auf seine Kosten. Als Kaffee gibt's nur löslichen Kaffee. Mit Kreditkarte konnte ich nicht bezahlen, angeblich sei die Maschine kaputt. Ich solle doch Geld aus dem Automaten ziehen. Nein, ich glaube ich werde dieses Hotel nicht erneut buchen. Schade eigentlich, denn die Anlage hätte Potential.

Für eine Übernachtung ok.aber nicht preiswert.

Abends angekommen, konnte man zuerst unsere Buchung nicht finden. Es war jedoch kein Problem uns gemäß Buchung ein Zimmer der besten Kategorie zu geben. Die Zahlung hatte sofort in bar zu erfolgen.
Leider hatte das Zimmer incl. eines sehr kleinen Balkons nur ca 19 qm statt der in der Beschreibung genannten 25 qm was anhand der Fliesen leicht festzustellen war.
Davon gehen dann noch ca 4 qm für den Badbereich ab.

The hotel was ok considering the price, but since the price was very low, so was the standard. Breakfast was good and there was a gym and pool area. Our room was situated on the wrong side of an one-way fire escape door- so to get to the lobby one had to go out on the street. Strange in my opinion.

hotel modesto, ma nella città di sur non vi sono molte alternative di livello superiore
la nostra camera (306) doveva avere la vista sulla spiaggia, ma in realtà la dista dava su un muro di cinta oltre in quale forse c'era la spiaggia...
siamo arrivati la sera tardi e ripartiti il mattino seguente, quindi è andata bene cosi...
