This is the first time that we stayed at this hotel. We usually stay at the tokyu REI hotel in front of the kichijoji station. This hotel has more space in room, lobby and restaurant and comfortable. However it is a little walk from thr kichijoji station. We like both tokyu hotels. They are professional

Had a great 3 night stay at this hotel. Biggest negative for us was we could not have our family of 3 in a single room and had to split a 2nd room with another family of 3 in our group.
Daily breakfast was great, lots of options for both a Western palette or those wanting something more authentic to Japan. My biggest complaint would be the runny eggs but you can get an omelette cooked on demand. Several coffee options (very small cups though) and the kids loved the ice cream. Always fresh fruit, yogurt and a variety of bread/baking.
Never ate lunch or dinner there. Multiple coffee shops on the first floor. Walkable to many dining options and to the bus (we were there for sports)

We had a great stay here—the location is fantastic, we love Kichijoji! Check in was smooth, breakfast was delicious, and our child loved the bunk bed (excellent room size and layout overall). Only issue was the hallway had a mild cigarette smell (and the room too, just a little), but it wasn’t an issue in the lobby and wasn’t bad enough to impact the stay.

Not quite the service I expected

We booked the hotel for two adults and one 7 year old child, but the room did not have enough towels, pillows, cups, etc for the third person. When I inquired about this at the front desk, I was first told to get extra towels at the gym. Then, when I later asked about pillows and cups, I was surprised when the front desk personnel accused me of only paying for two people, and that there should be an extra charge for any child of elementary school age. I showed him my Hotels.com reservation information in the app, and he finally agreed not to charge us extra and would follow up on his own end, but it left a sour taste in my mouth. The extra pillows never arrived, and the extra cups and towels arrived the next day.

Caution for folks traveling with small children or who have trouble sleeping - the rooms overlooking the restaurant area can pick up a lot of noise from below. Mattresses and pillows were very comfy, and breakfast buffet was excellent. Short walk to the station and plenty of shopping options.

We loved this hotel - great location for our needs and plenty of shopping and restaurants of all kinds. We even came back later in our trip. Rooms were spacious, nice amenities, eco conscious. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Breakfast was quite good. Shower head and shower curtain are the only strikes against. The shower head was not adjustable and the shower curtain was very light, so water splashed out and soaked the floor and bath mat. But that’s minor.

Check out time at 10. Wish it were 11. Bathtub was small, not like other hotels that have a larger soaking bath. No laundry facilities, unlike many hotels in Japan. Bed a little to firm for me.

Kichijoji

Kichijoji is a great area. The hotel is within walking distance of the train station, Inokashira Park, shopping and numerous restaurants and bakery/cafes. On the ground floor of the hotel there are small shops and an eatery.
I had requested an additional softer pillow and it was brought to my room right away. We would definitely stay again!

Great place to stay while in Tokyo. We love the Kichijoji neighborhood for shopping and good eats. This hotel has great family rooms and breakfast is good. This is our third stay here and we’ll likely come again!

Great staff despite our inability to communicate in Japanese. Front desk even helped us to track down a package that we had sent from Amazon. They went above and beyond in terms of customer service.

I took a star off for room cleanliness as there was a used popsicle stick left on the headboard of our bed by the previous guest. The rest of the room was immaculate.

Spacious and clean. Moderate queen room was a good value. A good option if you want to stay in the neighborhood. Kichijoji has a very nice vibe compared to the more central neighborhoods in Tokyo.

My only complaint was the 5000 yen fee to check out an hour later, at 12pm. Not an unreasonable amount but this is also the only time I’ve been charged this fee in my many trips to Japan.

I never thought I would find a property renovation negative. However, the nice bathroom upgrades actually took away room space. My room had no drawer space for clothes and minimal hanging space. I normally stay here for a week or longer so not being able to put away clothes or store suitcases really was not optimal. I still really like the location, cleanliness and staff but I will now consider other properties on my next trip

This hotel is a must. Take a walk to the nearest Park and enjoy a delicious pizza, visit a small zoo, shops, and a stroll in a boat. The hotel breakfast was amazing. Worth paying. Love the area. Walkable distance to train station.

A lovely area on Tokyo. Kichijouji is nice. The hotel is great value, but as with most 4 dtar places in Tokyo inside the room itself is obviously small. The staff were verg accommodating. Would definately stay again as a solo traveller or for business. Just lacks the wow factor inside the room, if youre looking for somewhere as a destination with a partner or loved one.

My HQ is in Mitaka, and I always choose the Kichijoji Excel Tokyu when available. The dining options are great on property but you also have many great dining and shopping options within a 10 min walk. Convenient to the train station as well. The staff is on point and the hotel is super clean and safe. Yes, the rooms are a little dated, but they are comfortable and clean. I travel for business and pleasure more than 60 nights a year and its everything I look for in a hotel.
