One of Kongsbergs older properties but maintained and run perfectly with a first class breakfast, welcoming staff and comfortable rooms. Only hiccup was having to pay Expedia and the hotel due to an unresolved booking issue. I’m sure Expedia will refund me. Very good option for Kongsberg and could not be closer to the reliable rail service.

Nice place to stay for a cheap price

Very good place to stay. The breakfast is great and the hotel has free parking. It is situated very central, next to the train station. I wished there was air conditioning in the room, because it gets a little too hot during the summer. Also very noicy outside because of trains and cars. I really recommend this hotel, for a quick place to stay.

Comfortable stay

Comfortable and clean hotel with friendly reception. Close to buses, trains and in centre of town for restaurants etc. WiFi seemed a bit slow and temperamental at times.

Convenient and Comfortable Overnight Stay

The room was recently redecorated, well appointed and the bed was very comfortable. We even had a fridge. Breakfast was also of good quality and check in was efficient and friendly. It's located beside a shopping area and also the train station. We did have to carry our luggage up a flight of stairs. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Lovely Kongsberg

The staff was so friendly and the rooms were really nice. It is located in a great location in Kongsberg near the bus and train station. Easy walking to food and shopping. The breakfast served by the hotel was very good. We will stay there again next time we are there!

Nice hotel

Good location ....just next to the bus and train station and down town. Well maintained and cozy. Very friendly staff.
The breakfast was simple but good. Wish they also served norwegian wiener bread and danishes.
The gym was small and crowded. Nice sauna but needed to book ahead of time as it generally was left off.

Good basic with good bed

I picked BW from a few options in Kongsberg for a queen size bed, and that was what I got - true queen size bed (not a given in Norway, default beds are smaller). Also, if you arrive by train like I did, the fact that BW is just by the train station is a plus. simple breakfast was included in the basic rate. Alltogether good experience.

Nice hotel in good location

We were overall really pleased with the hotel and enjoyed our stay there. Staff are friendly and very helpful. Only slight negative was the gym was tiny & some of the equipment wasn't working. Also at each breakfast time there was usually a small wait for refills of all the breakfast food. Overall though we were happy with the hotel.

Nice hotel - Beautiful town

The hotel was very nice and in a perfect walking location to things. The hotel receptionist was extremely nice and helpful with giving us ideas of places to go and see.

Short weekend visit to Kongsberg

Ideal location close to station - but still quiet for good night sleep. Comfortable room but slightly dusty and shower soap dispencer was empty. A bit mean with the complimentary coffee in the room. Would recommend as a good place to stay.

Ok -

Oppdaget da jeg skulle legge meg at vannkranen på badet var defekt. I tillegg var det kokende varmt på rommet, og med vindu rett ut til parkeringsplassen var det ikke mulig å sette vinduet helt åpent. Sov derfor veldig dårlig. God seng, dyne og pute! Vennlig resepsjonist.

Hyggelig hotell

Har bodd flere ganger på Gyldenløve. Hyggelig familiedrevet hotell. God frokost og også gode middagsretter i restauranten. Supersentral beliggenhet ved buss- og togstasjon. Gratis parkering om du kommer med bil. Kort vei til det meste i Kongsberg sentrum.

Midt på treet

Bestilte rom for 1 voksen og 2 eldre barn, men var kun redd opp til 2 og ingen ekstra dyne eller sengetøy på rommet. Ei heller ledig parkering som var eneste grunn til at jeg valgte akkurat dette hotellet siden parkering var en av fasilitetene.

Gutes Hotel mit einer Service Schwäche.

Schönes Hotel mit grossem Zimmer. Frühstück tip top.

Gemäss Beschreibung hat es ein Restaurant und eine Bar. Leider wurde uns das beim Check-In mitgeteilt, das beides geschlossen sei. Das hätte man uns auch vor der Anreise mitteilen.

Ok pris og veldig bra beliggenhet!

Sov dårlig fordi det var for varmt på rommet. Ikke så vanlig i Norge på denne tiden av året. Men litt betenkelig at hotellet ikke har bedre temperaturkontroll på rommene. Normalt sett vil jeg ikke tro det er et vesentlig problem. Hyggelige mennesker og god beliggenhet.

Litet fint hotell som varmt kan anbefales!

Veldig fornøyd med oppholdet. Vi var 1 voksne og 4 ungdommer som hadde det fint. God frokost, hyggelig personal, fræscha rom. Ja, alt i alt en hyggelig opplevelse. Hotellet er ikke så stort, så du fikk en koselig, familiefølelse. Kan anbefales

Greit nok hotell. Servicen var veldig bra. Luktet litt gammel røyk inne på hotellet, og var ganske slitt. Veldig gode senger. Men det er veldig varmt på rommene. Anbefaler å ha med ei bordvifte. Frokosten helt ok. Spiste middag der på kvelden, og den pannestekte steinbiten var helt fantastisk.

Meget bra familiedrevet hotell med koselig atmosfære. Hotellet har perfekt plassering i sentrum av byen, og med jernbanestasjon og rutebilstasjon rett over gaten. Store gode rom. Bad med dusj med veldig bra vanntrykk. Gratis parkering på egen grunn. Pluss for koselig uteplass, hvor frokosten, middagen, eller et glass fra baren kan nytes. Hotellet anbefales.

Fint hotell av litt eldre standard. Hyggelig personale og store rom (familierom med dobbeltseng + en dobbel sovesofa). Sengene var helt ok.

Rommet var av noe eldre standard, uten at det påvirket komforten noe nevneverdig. Dette hotellet har ikke (som \"ingen\" andre norske hoteller heller har) Aircondition på rommet. Det gjorde at det var svært varmt på rommet, ettersom utetemperaturen gjennom dagen hadde vært varm.

Frokostenbuffeten var god og variert, og på høyde med en hvilken som helst vanlig hotellfrokost.

Gratis parkering på egne oppmerkede plasser utenfor hotellet.

Under sengen lå det hybelkaniner fra hele sommeren, inkl leker og smågått fra tidligere besøkende. Det er opplagt at renholdet går ut på å skuffle skiten under sengen. Ute av synet, ute av sinn.

Betjeningen var dårlig i norsk og oppga feil tid for frokost (vi var 4 personer som mottok den feile informasjonen).

Vi kunne ikke få en ekstra håndduk, fordi betjeningen hadde tydligvis ikke peiling på å håndtere situasjonen.

Minikjøleskapet var ødelagt, og vi orket ikke å gi beskjed pga. betjeningens dårlige kommunikasjonsegenskaper (og ja den sto i kontakten med strøm på).

Ingen mulighet å kjøle ned tempraturen (ute temp på 27) i rommet, og vinduene var lukket igjen ved ankomst.

Av alle hotellene denne sommeren, skilte denne seg ut som den klart værste. Anbefales ikke.

Hotellet var bra, men skuffelsen var stor når rommet dag to ikke ble ryddet i det hele tatt. Der stod det kaffekopper, sengene var ikke redd opp, ingen rene håndklær. Det forventer man på hotell. God frokost og fint rom, så kan lett bli bedre.

Lå midt i byen. Litt slitne rom, men vi hadde med hund, så vi fikk nok ett rom deretter. Endel bråk fra trafikk, men ikke verre enn at vi sov godt i gode senger. Hyggelig betjening. Lite utvalg til frokost, men ble servert over disk i disse covid tider, noe som gir ett pluss. Skuffet over at restaurant og bar var stengt i helgene på hotellet

Alt var bra unntatt servicen....
Da vi kom inn satt det en eldre mann og lurte på hva vi ville. Vi sa vi hadde booket rom, men dette trodde han selvfølgelig ikke noe på. Så vi måtte vise kvittering.
Da vi gikk ned etter vi endelig fikk lov å skjekke inn for rommet vi hadde betalt for, skulle vi kjøpe mineralvann. Det mannen sa da var et grynt fordi han måtte reise seg opp av stolen å hente drikke som vi skulle betale for.
