The staff was very kind and first night loaned us an electrical adaptor till we went to store to buy one. The pool on top is very nice with view of surrounding area. Enjoyed the local street vendors and coffee shops.

Not the quality i expected for that price

We paid for an executive suite, almost 400 Ringgit. The sitting area & the bedroom had very good air con. The closet had an iron plus a workable ironing board which i used successfully. But hot water took forever to come out of any of the 3 faucets in the bathroom, & then it was only tepid, not hot. The flow of water in the shower was so meager that i gave up & transferred to the bathtub. As for the breakfast included in the price, most food & drink were consumed by 8am when we walked in. Workers were not attentive nor diligent with prepared refills on anything. My wife & i got the last mug of coffee by tilting the dispenser at an angle & shared from the same cup. We scraped bubur ayam from the bottom of the pot. My advice? Set your alarm for 5:30 then show up at their din8ng hall at 6am sharp when they open. Maybe then you will have a better bfast experience than we did.

Although stated all non smoking room, but the room is with smoking smell, staff said will get housekeeping to spray but no one come. Anyhow, i felt the hotel is not strict to check and ensure guest is smoking - need to improve / impose penalty.

Pillow is not comfortable, overall is still fine.

Made two reservations for this hotel. 1st was a 3 nighter which was suppose to include b/fast and another additional 1 night w/out b/fast. Upon checking in, I was informed that my reservations was w/out b/fast and since I was in a rush, I did not look into this further though I did make a mental note to check my reservations email for more info. However, with toddlers in hand, it never occurred to me to looked into this as the hotel wifi connection was also disabled after the 1st night. Only after the trip, I checked the details and disappointingly found that I had paid for rooms with b/fast but did not utilize this.

Big rooms, the delicious Prawn Soup Noodle during breakfast is a must try if available.

The food prepared by Chinese Restaurant is decent and surprisingly cheap in comparison to other larger town, judging for its convenience for hotel guess and set up.

Lots of parking around the hotel free for hotel guests. The air conditioning is not the quietest, even on the lowest fan setting its a little more noisy then modern silent AC units. Bedroom curtains thick and can block outside streetlights completely for quality sleep.
Windows from my room were facing north-east, with a nice view to the mountains. Comfortable mattress. Small refrigerator in the room with a tiny freezing section. Plastic electric kettle, didn't use because it seemed dirty inside. In the \"Executive Deluxe King\" room a nice bathtub. Good water flow and hot water. Nice clean bathroom. Big ergonomic desk and comfortable chair (just one in a double room), suitable for working on a laptop. Lots of power sockets, 2 just over the desk. Maxis LTE mobile Internet speeds reach 15 Mbps. The hotel has a gym and swimming pool, but didn't try it.

As what I review during my check in, mistake one after another (waited 40mins for check in due to no record found etc..., put to Another room (room number 303) with clearly someone try to use tools to break in to the room before-refer picture).

Made matter worse, we been put to the level full of students which running, shouting and screaming during early morning.

Cleaner are simply just rearrange the bed liner, changing towel but the dirty floor is not clean, been staying there nos. Of time, this are the worse experience so far with this hotel.

Only hotel in Kampar

The Grand Kampar Hotel will probably live with me forever, probably not for the right reasons!

Firstly, the staff were very helpful but didn’t always completely understand. Secondly, though decidedly in need of a refurbishment, our room was very clean. Thirdly, breakfast was very good and the stay was reasonably priced.

What I will remember from Kampar was an entire Malay family with 3 children turning up in our room at midnight. Reception had given them our room number and a key for our room. Not only that but about 15 minutes later (bearing in mind the time and I have a six year old sleeping in the room too) they ring on the phone to apologise! The beds were rock hard and really I didn’t sleep at all after our intrusion. Luckily we were just passing through so only stayed one night.

Hotel in new township.

Electronic lock with flat batteries. Can not open the room door on check in day. Call for help & waited for about 30 minutes for maintenance people to check. Batteries have no power. Hotel maintenance should have checked regularly to avoid inconveniences to hotel guests who come from long distance & tire. This hotel still using old 21\" TV.

An affordable and good stays for a family

Our room was spacious even for a family of 6 (4 adults and 2 kids). Comfy bed, nice kids pool on the rooftop and delicious breakfast with a variety of local dishes just a few good things that I could recall. The neighborhood was calm and quiet. Less than 2 minutes walk to the nearest convenience store. If you are hungry, just try the hotel menu. We found the foods were tasty and affordable. Alternatively, Secret Recipe and eateries just around the corner. Recommended for an affordable family stays.

Was asked to wait for the room and so I asked to give me an estimated time which they said they would check but never gave me after 45 mins and I had to ask them to give the estimation to me again which again I had to wait another 30 minutes. During the estimation I had to wait another 10 mins. Was it hard to give me the estimation when during that timing there was no one checking in. The room otherwise was okay although there was a roach right outside my door.

Good hotel but with bad experience this time

Have stayed in this hotel many times. This time round was rather disappointed as the room's door was not working well, reported it but it was not fixed and we were locked out for quite some time. The door was only fixed after telling the hotel staff 2nd time
The room was not made up twice although we hung the \"make up room\" signage outside. First time was due to hotel's staff not aware that we have extended our stay. But 2nd time was disappointing when we went back to the room at night and it was not made up.

Hotel is at excellent location. Staff is very friendly and ready to serve. Hotel looks great from outside. But rooms and furniture is outdated. Mattress was ok. Area is safe, view from hotel(Mountain side) was good.
Morning buffet was good. Especially bread and butter, jam, fruits were really fresh. Bathroom was clean, but needs renovation.
Hallways, windows need serious attention.

It’s getting old

Fascility such as the pool is hard to reach. We needn’t to go through 3 flights of stairs to get there. Otherwise, as soon as I enter my room(a king delux suit), I was greeted by a thick stench of musky smell. Outside the window, i got a great view of green hills but it’s obscured by thick watermarks besides a huge crack on the window. Also present is added flavor from the thick layer of avian excrement.

Good location, working distance to Restaurants, Convenience Stores and even McD or KFC. Average and decent hotel and no thrill and spill. Strategically located and near to Kampar town. If you are willing to explore, you will find plenty of street foods and restaurants in Kampar town.
One of the best hotel in Kampar and recommended for family stay because they have amazing large family.

Old hotel, but conveniently located

The only thing that got me going back this hotel is the convenience, there are lots of shops around. But it's getting old and dirty. The first thing that caught me when I entered the room is the smell! Next year we'll start looking for other hotels!
