A nice hotel conveniently located near restaurants, groceries, and the harbor. Wonderfully friendly staff. Large rooms with private baths. I didn't pay for the breakfast because it was ridiculously expensive for what is offered, so don't know if it is good. Overall, a nice hotel in a lovely town.

Good chain-hotel, clean, and you get what you expect from Fosshotels. The drawback is that the breakfast is OK, but not always quality ingredients, also the dinner was very expensive for a small portion and not even good quality. p.s. In the town is a much better place for dinner.

Of the 8 hotels we stayed at in Iceland, this was our least favorite. The service was least effort possible. Coffee machine at breakfast didn't work properly the entire time we were there and no one seemed to care. We had a toilet that was leaking all over the bathroom floor and not sure who designed the shower in this room, but putting a curtain in a 1X1M shower means it sticks to you the entire time you're in there. You won't have many choices in this area, but I'd look elsewhere if you can.

Convenient hotel in beautiful fjord

There are not many hotels in this region and Foss is a quality nation-wide brand. This seems to be usually used for tour groups but the location is beautiful for anyone looking to visit the bird cliffs, red sand beach or other attractions in the area. Be aware that the rooms that face the fjord also face the road, which is busy and as there is no A/C, if the window is open for air, you will hear street noise.

water pressure is great. Comforters on the beds are soft and warm. The room is basic and very small. I could not even walk behind my husband when he was at the desk. But it is manageable. The staff is nice and the restaurant was great. Good service as well as good quality food. Also like the grab and go egg sandwiches in the lobby case. So tasty and convenient. Great location for Latrabjarg cliffs (about an hour and 15 min.)

Rooms are light and provide all the basic necessities. We stayed during our initial quarantine and so couldn't use the public areas and so can't comment on them. Staff were very helpful. Particular thanks to Eric who had a clear understanding of all the present rules so providing reassurance in a difficult time as well as excellent service.

The hotel was very clean and the service was great. The only things that could have been improved are the bed types and the comfort of the mattresses. Although a double bed is advertised as one of the available bed types, the ‘double’ is actually just two twin beds pushed together, not a single mattress. The crack between the two twin beds makes for a very uncomfortable sleeping experience.

The check in staff was great. The room was not great other than the water view. The retry was not plugged in. The phone did not work. Went to front desk to let them know. The rang the phone once but still did not work. No follow up or resolution on their part. The bathroom shower was horrible. If you take a shower be ready for the entire floor of bathroom to be full of water.

Fosshotel was clean, easy to find, had convenient and adequate parking, the views were great, the bed comfortable, the lighting and number of plug-ins sufficient, and the elevator fast. As usual, the desk might have been a bit larger given that it needed to hold the hotpot/cups/etc as well as the laptop/etc we'd brought with us. Although it was not an issue for us, the curtains did an excellent job of blocking out the light. We didn't try the restaurant.

Fosshotels in Iceland are always reliable and this one proved to be the same. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The only issue was with the shower. We couldn't figure out how to shower without getting water all over the bathroom floor. As an aside, I would recommend that if you are staying here, you stay here after you see the Latrabarg cliff. We stayed here before and it was a bit of a detour to drive to the cliff.

Two Nights at Hotel Foss Westfjords

We drove up to the West Fjords area from Reykjavik. The scenery...spectacular. Suggest that this be more than just a quick day or two. It is such a beautiful area. Travelling this area in late October has its advantages and disadvantages. The upside: much less traffic on the highways, guaranteed hotel room availability, and the fall colours on the countryside. The disadvantages: its the fall storm season so less chance of sunsets and northern lights, and fewer of the seasonal restaurants open. Staying with the Foss chain around the country looks to be pretty predictable in that they offer fairly similar rooms and services. This is our second of four different Foss Hotels that we will be staying at on this trip. The continental breakfasts offer a good and healthy variety. No reason for you to leave this place on an empty stomach. The bars typically have a happy hour, which is your standard 2-for-1 kind of offering although not applied to all beverages on the list. The Foss Westfjords also offer the best (and at this time of year, only) dining in Patreksfjordur. We ate there two nights and I can honestly say that the lamb fillet was among some of the tenderest and tastiest that I've ever had in my over 50 years on this planet. I was able to cut it with a fork. If that's the standard to compare all future lamb dishes to, then the bar has been set pretty high.

Nothing wrong with this hotel apart from the night time desk clerk when we arrived. We had been driving all day, we had not eaten, we arrived at 9:10pm and were told sorry the restaurant is closed. I asked was there anywhere else we could get food? Was there room service? Another restaurant nearby perhaps? I explained we were really hungry. The guy looks at me and says \"breakfast is from 7-9\" The room cost over $200 for one night. So much for service or in any way trying to be accommodating. There were diners still in the restaurant, im pretty sure the chef was still there. Would it really have been too much trouble to rustle up a couple of sandwiches? Pretty poor if you ask me.

OK considering the remote location, but a number of annoyances. Nowhere to sit except restaurant - a lobby with various seating areas, or some outdoor furniture would have been nice. Our room was on the side of the building that gets afternoon sun, and being that the sun hardly sets, it got very hot in the room - no A/C and only 1 small window that opened, but couldn't keep window open at night due to road noise. Hotel had 3 different WiFi signals, none of them worked worth a damn. TV only got 2 channels, neither worth watching. On the positive side, breakfast (included in room price) was excellent. Staff friendly.

We fell in love with Fosshotel in Nupar so.. we canceled one of our airbnb's and stayed at the Fosshotel in the East Fjords fell in love with that one too. So naturally we canceled another Airbnb and booked a stay at the West Fjords Fosshotel. Unfortunately this was our least favorite and probably wouldn't go again. Not that anything was wrong with it, it was clean and the service was okay...but it was just missing the charm the other hotels had on us. It's location is pretty great if you're adventuring the West Fjords.

Surprise in the Middle of No Where!

We decided to visit the Westfjords and there are zero choices in places to stay. When this hotel turned out to be very clean, breakfast had lots of choices, decor was cute, and staff very very nice, we were very pleasantly surprised.

Nice hotel in a very remote area

It's a relatively no frills hotel but very clean and comfortable with very friendly and pleasant staff. We strongly recommend Ísafjörður as a destination, a wonderful place off the beaten path. Best restaurant in town, the name translates to \"the House\" in English.

Hotel was clean and modern. Overall great stay. Only complaint is the internet. We had weak signal and extremely slow speeds seemingly throughout the whole hotel. Could barely even load emails. Browsing webpages was nearly impossible. Traveling internationally, we were depending on the Wifi for communication. Internet was not up to par.

The hotel was fine but I was ignored at the reception for about 15 mins while 2 people on the desk delt with someone who was not happy with the room they were given because it didn't have a view. Then when they did eventually book me in they gave me the room the oothers had rejected. Even a simple I won't keep you waiting too long or one of the receptionists could have helped us
