Close to all shopping, restaurants and the Bell Centre. Just a minutes walk from it all. Great place for the pay. Rooms were clean, a bit of TLC could be done but nothing terrible . We had the king room, came with a fridge and microwave . Cora’s located downstairs which is great. Would stay here again

Great central location close to the Bell Centre. Rooms are small and walls are thin. Hotel is pretty noisy. Front desk and cleaning staff are all lovely. Parking is available off-site, but close by. Hotel could use to clean the filters on the heating/AC units. Cora's restaurant is located right in the lobby which is really convenient for breakfast.

The room had a malfunctioning shower, visible mold, and the lighting was not functional. The lights flickered and had to remain off for both nights of our stay.
The front desk staff at check-in were very helpful. However, upon departure, a staff member seated at a small desk behind the counter was engaged in another conversation when we clarified that we had been told parking was included. She called out, “oh yes, because it’s a police vehicle.” That was not the reason. We were simply repeating what the call-taker advised us while we were en route. The vehicle had only been identified to ensure it could be parked safely.
At the time, the lobby had a large opening with water actively pouring in, and both the lobby and elevators appeared very unclean. I have not ever left a negative reviews, but unfortunately this was not a pleasant stay and was further impacted by what appeared to be a manager’s unprofessional response. Remaining seated and calling out across the lobby was inappropriate and disappointing.

Firstly, if you are choosing this place for downtown convenience, you are already in for disappointment. Downtown seems to be under construction and it doesn’t seem to be ending anytime soon.

Coming to the hotel, it’s an ok property with not so great amenities for the BW brand. There’s Cora right next to the reception for breakfast but even to find parking you will need to walk to the next street or pay a fortune at Sheraton on the same street. Next time, I’d choose this only if I don’t have an option at all.

Travelled solo for business. The staff was friendly and accommodating. It was great to get an early check in. That being said, it would have been nice to be informed that the hotel, in particular the floor I was staying on, was being renovated. Immediately after getting off the elevator I could smell paint. There were old wallpaper and headboards and mattresses everywhere, leaned against walls and in hallways, and taped drop cloth on the hallway floors. It’s great that this hotel is renovating because when I got into my room it sure needed it. Especially the bathroom - the shower was questionable. There was a “patched” hole under the sink. I stayed and not asked to change rooms because I had meetings to get to. I was there for one night. The bed was thankfully clean and hopefully new. The “desk” area left very little to the imagination. I had to turn it around so I didn’t feel like I was being punished facing a wall while I worked.

Lastly, even though I know Montreal is a safe city, I questioned why they placed me, a solo female traveller, in a room where the window was level to the roof (?). I wasn’t there for the view, sure. Would’ve still be ice to not question my safety.

I gave this a three star simply because of the friendly staff during checkout.

Room was in okay condition with comfortable bed (that’s perhaps the only positive thing in the whole experience with hotel Europa). Hotel is not equipped for cold Montreal climate. Multilevel stone building doesn’t have adequate heating/AC system. Instead there are window AC units: grossly loud, inefficient, occupying half of window, installed at the height that constantly blowing to your face… horrible. We ended up turning it off in spite of freezing weather that’s how unbearably annoying it was. And the cherry on top was unheated bathroom. There was simply no heating in the bathroom. So you left with two choices: either keep the door open with all embarrassing consequences or freeze to death in it. Very uncomfortable, especially in the early morning hours.
We had early morning appointment and the reason of choosing this hotel was it convenient location. We knew it would take literally two minutes to reach to the place of our appointment. Surprise, surprise - both elevators were out of order! It wasn’t easy to find emergency exit in the complicated labyrinth of corridors and numerous doors leading either to the emergency balcony with no steps down (we were on fifth floor!) or to the dead end! Unless one really need this location - I wouldn’t recommend it. Not clean, some areas filthy and full of debris and garbage (especially in the service elevator area which we were told to use the whole day while guest elevator was out of order)… left with very negative feelings.

This is a perfectly average hotel, no frills, perhaps a lack of cleaning, but also wonderfully priced and a stone’s throw from the Bell Centre.

Pros: location, price, Cora’s in the hotel for breakfast, helpful staff, very comfortable pillow, AC/heat unit worked well

Cons: Don’t think they clean the lobby areas, elevators are slow and small, room didn’t come prepared (was missing body wash), the room itself had some dings and paint chips, housecleaning ignored the do not disturb sign

You get what you pay for, right? I’d stay again.

The floor needed mopping or even scrubbing. The closet floor was dirty and dusty, the floor nearby the walls of the room was not clean enough. The shower had hairs tabgled in the shampoo bottle. The TV had accounts in netflix and YouTube connected/logged in.

Top sheet on the bed was not tucked in and the under pad was not held in place on the corners. Basically I had to make the bed. That was not fun after seeing hairs, eye lashes and someone’s clipped toe nail under the pad.

I got charged more than what my booking said. They did a system change during my stay so receipt doesn’t show whole stay. One transaction with my visa is missing on the receipt. I’ve sent 2 emails and called twice but still haven’t received any news. Another guest was checked in to our room during our stay. It was a good thing we didn’t lose anything in our room as the other guest had access to our room.

1. the room 426 was not completely clean yet when we checked in, the cleaning supplies are in the bathroom and no shampoo, conditioner, and soap ,the floor is dirty.
2. the hotel changed the room 423 to us and I just found the room was exactly as I booked. the first room 426 was smaller than I booked.
3. the last night we found bed bugs in room 423. then the hotel changed room 414 to us. the vents of the heater was dusty,
overall, I didn't sleep well because the heater is way too loud. too noisy to sleep.

The staff were great overall, especially the front desk team, who were very helpful and professional. Housekeeping did a good job in general, but there is still room for improvement, particularly with floor cleaning. I would also recommend improving the air quality and overall smell in the lobby and hallways, as that would make the experience much more pleasant. The room itself was fine and comfortable, but adding disposable slippers as part of the room amenities would be a nice touch. Overall, a decent stay with some areas that could be improved.

The floor is dusty. We got to wear slippers in the room especially the wardrobe is terrible. The only area is cleaner is the bathroom, however the ventilation is poor. We were pretty sure that the residents near to us were smoking so we could smell the smoke. Also the residents in the next room were having party and swearing all over two nights so we could not sleep at all. I know it’s not the hotel’s fault but it’s just unfortunate. The receptionist at night time were able to help me to warn those residents when I made the call to them, it’s the most impressive part. Location is convenient, walkable to Saint Catherine and Eaton. In general, it’s good for budget traveller but if you’re seeking for comfort, this would not be your choice.

Staff was wonderful but hotel room could have been cleaner. As someone who has a phobia of loose hair, finding someone else’s in the ‘clean’ tub was gross. The shower door was also not cleaned from previous guests. Housekeeping quickly responded to clean for which we were grateful. Bed was comfortable but we didn’t like the rough pillow cases. At the end of the day you get what you pay for, and for $92 p/n it was a decent place. Thankfully we only had 2 nights here.
