We arrived at the hotel at noon and went in on the off chance we could check-in early. The friendly staff member at the front desk took our phone number in case it was ready earlier than 4. We never heard anything so went back after 4. The room choices on Expedia were 1 King with full ocean view and 1 King with partial ocean view. Of course we selected the Full View. Too our great disappointment our room had a partial view and looked out onto the HVAC equipment on the roof. We messaged the hotel and received a quick response that it was our responsibility to advise them on check-in that we wanted a full ocean view and that rooms are given in order of arrival. We specifically booked a full ocean view room and arrived at Noon!
The rooms were renovated and clean, the 2 staff members we spoke with were very friendly and helpful with \"what to do\" in Powell River.
The location is great but beware the room you book is not what you should expect.

My stay was short, but I really enjoyed this hotel. The bed was very comfortable, and the overall atmosphere was pleasant and relaxing.

I especially appreciated the employee who checked me in. He kindly moved me to a room on the same floor instead of the second floor because I had a few plastic storage boxes and my mountain bike with me. That thoughtful gesture made my stay much easier and more enjoyable.

However no screens in the windows. The minute we opened it we had about 10 flys make our room their home. Yuck

The biggest problem was the lighting - way too bright for the room with no bedside lamp. Our room had a king-size bed which was too large for the room (space) so that one side had no room to step on to the floor. This meant that the person on that side had to hitch up and off the end of the bed to go to the bathroom. Not a big deal but a bit awkward if you're not agile.

Otherwise the bed was comfortable and the room was quiet even though it was close to the ferry dock - but again traffic was not heavy as this is after all Powell River.

A great stay with exceptional staff.

Room was clean and nice, space between bed and furniture/fridge fairly slim but we managed.
Staff were amazing and friendly and interested in the clients needs.
The building itself isn’t very soundproof so any building and others client noises were heard easily. Probably due to the age of the building and no fault of anyone.

The hotel was recently renovated. Our room was small but very comfortable. Limited parking spots. A short walk from the ferry. The Sunday morning desk clerk very friendly and helped us find a great place to eat. There were no elevators to the two story hotel.

Well supplied units, would highly recommend UNLESS you have accessibility issues, which I do, temporarily. I have stayed at this hotel a few times and enjoy it, but going through some medical treatment right now means I can't do stairs and I hadn't really noticed until now that the front of the hotel is all stairs and there is no elevator. The staff were kind enough to help me to my room on arrival, however no one was available to help me leave, so it was a challenge to say the least. If you're OK with stairs the place is clean and central and the staff are great!

This is an older building, but it was clean and comfortable for our one night stay. Staff was friendly. There is limited parking. It's pretty much right off the ferry, which was nice. Plenty of places to eat within walking distance. For the money, it was a decent room.

Overall the stay was good other then a few issues at check-in when two of our three pre booked rooms were not ready. Our so called family room was not so family friendly when it came to sleeping as it had three very large windows that faced the main road that offer little sounds protection from the traffic sounds. The staff was nice.

Upon check-in, we were told that our reserved room was on the second floor. When we realized that there was no elevator, we requested a relocation to a ground floor room, as my husband is awaiting knee surgery and stairs are difficult for him to navigate, especially when carrying luggage. Fortunately, a first-floor room was available. With 2 queen sized beds, it was tight but adequate and also clean. The bed sheets were very nice, as was the bathroom shower. Our room was located next to a street which was quite noisy in the morning. The hotel is located right next to the ferry terminal with departures for Texada or Vancouver Islands. It is also on the main downtown street with a variety of restaurant and shopping options. The price was reasonable and the room comfy...we will stay there again.

Great location - right next to Comox/Texada ferry. Central to Powell River. Walking distance to downtown, local caffe's and restaurants.
Greatest ocean view in the area!
Rooms were clean, but a coffeemaker did not work properly and the air-conditioning system was very loud. However, you have to use it as the room was getting very hot in the afternoon.
Free parking, but not enough for all guests. Plenty of free street parking available.

If I could give 100 stars for the staff, I would! Fayad at the frontdesk is exceptional! From check in to check out the service is *chef kiss* they even have a lounge area where my friends and I hang out and fayad made sure we got all we need and made us popcorn too! Will surely stay here again when we’re in Powell river! The location is very prime too! Very near to all the good restaurants and good spots!

This was a lovely little oasis. Small but mighty comes to mind. The need was exceptionally comfortable and the sheets were amazingly soft! Tiny little bathroom but it has everything we needed and more. Clean as a whistle as well. All the stars, especially for the price point.

Waterways was a great place to stay in Powell River. The location is ideal for ferry travellers, located steps away from the ferry terminal and ticket sales building. The shower in my room was 10+, with an overhead rain-shower/sunlamp set up, as well as separate hand-held shower attachment. The bathroom touch-screen mirror with surround lighting and defrost was also a nice touch. However, the faucets leaked, so the counter around the sink was always wet. A grab bar in the shower would be a suggestion for safety. There was no peekhole on the door (not good!), nor a safety chain or secondary security bolt. The bed was comfortable and the pillows and duvet were like sleeping wrapped into a cloud. The room had no closet - more hanging space/options needed!! Another small thing: please have pens and paper/notepad in the rooms.The over the bed lightswitch was hidden behind the pillows and I had to call the front desk to find out how to turn it off. Again, just a small detail- which could be avoided by a simple card in the room, explaining room features. The biggest negative would be noise: despite the sign at the front desk declaring \"QUIET HOURS OBSERVED FROM 10PM TO 8 AM, for the comfort of all guests\", I experienced very loud music from several rooms after 11 pm during my stay and there was a party going on one evening next door which thankfully abruptly ended around 12:30 am. I would book this hotel again and found the staff very professional as well.

The hotel was lovely and clean. Unfortunately I cannot give a 5* review because as a person that just recently had knee surgery, the parking situation was unacceptable. I wish I had known more in advance that there was a very ridiculously steep hill to climb. I had my cane but my knee suffered terribly because of the strain. I felt like I had no choice. No one even saw me coming to help with my suitcase so I struggled to walk myself while dragging my suitcase behind me. I can't even imagine what that would have been like had there been frost or an icy sidewalk. On my last night I parked across the road on the highway because I just couldn't risk that trek up hill again without risking my newly fixed knee. I can't recommend this hotel because it isn't safe for anyone with mobility issues. I told them I needed to be on the first floor because they spoke of no elevator. No one said anything about the ridiculously steep sidewalks. This hotel put me at risk by not giving me all the information.

The new modern updates were great but the hotels description said the place was pretty soundproof. This is not true as you can hear almost everything. I could hear full conversations from people in the hallway and the room next door. The person next door had a bunch of \"fun\" with someone they brought to the room which lasted until 1am. I had to sleep with noise canceling headphones. The staff was great and friendly but walls are thin

Didn't have a room with a kitchen. Room/property was nicely updated/renovated. Room was a bit small, nice bed, great shower. Room doors seem light, not substantial enough for safety or noise reduction. Hallways and stairs are a bit narrow. staff was very pleasant. Parking was limited.
