It was a nice little hotel. The rooms were clean. The only issues were that there was no air conditioning, so the room was hot, which made it hard to fall asleep. Also, this might have been unique to the rooms we had, but the motion light kept turning on and off throughout the night right outside our rooms. And there were just screens instead of windows on one side of our room, so we could hear the birds singing at 5:30 in the morning and they were pretty loud.
The staff was super friendly though, and the breakfast was good.

I love this little hotel. The staff is wonderful and the hotel is convenient to the airport. It was also safe to walk around to neighborhood restaurants and stores. I actually ended up staying here three times and felt like I was coming back to friends.

Tiffany is so helpful for trip suggestions for local and nearby city like San Jose and Catargo. She help us find place for dilicious food, souvenir store, and place for coffee form CR. She also provide price info so we are assured. With affordablenprice, this place is 3 blocks away from market, central sqaure, and 5 blocks from bus station to San Jose. You can also take the bus to airport.

My room's only window was to the hallway which felt unsafe for a female solo traveler and the lamp didn't work and was CAKED in grime and there wasn't any toilet paper in the bathroom. Wouldn't stay again.

The hotel was fine. We only stayed one night, as an airport stay, after we landed, but we will stay there again on our way flying out of Costa Rica. Convenient, clean, good price, nice people, no problems.

I stayed there for one night. Firstly the room has only a fan that barely works so the room is like a sauna. Also the sheets and pillow cases were all stained with blood and yellow stains which I found disgusting. Also don't rely on the breakfast, it's obviously a way to just chargre more without quality food. For the money we paid we could definitely find a better place.

It was just a very simple place with not a lot of extras. We had no hand towel for the sink but there was a wash cloth hanging--wasnt sure if it was clean or not....but did have a few towels for the shower. The staff was amazing and communicated well prior to our arrival and were waiting for us when we arrived after midnight after our plane was delayed 3 hours. They were very helpful and welcoming. Breakfast was included and simple but delicous.

This is not the marriott but i enjoyed my stay. its clean and cozy. The staff are very nice and helpful. I was well taken care of by John and victoria. I ended up with a stomach flu, soon after i checked in. I was grateful with the support and care i received. I feel i was in a much warmer, caring environment then if it was in a big name hotel. It’s close to the airport. lots of shopping, restaurants and bars and pretty much almost whatever you need.
Thanks again, for your hospitality. It may not be fancy, but i will return.

Checked in paid and was taken to a small room with no window and shared bath.
I have stayed at the Pacande multiple times over 15 years and have never been treated this way.

Pacande has changed in the last couple years for the worse.
Will not recommend or stay here any more.
Better hotels are a available for same price in the area.

Nice little place to stay for a few days while exploring San Jose. We called it our treehouse. Very close to everything, staff is very kind and helpful. Great bakery just around the corner to pick up amazing goodies. Lovely breakfast at the hotel in the am. They will arrange a shuttle to and from the airport for you. $20USD for our group of 5. $10USD for the way back to the airport!the beds were clean. The only complaint I do have is that our bathroom didn’t feel clean at all. Otherwise, we loved it.

For the price and the location, this place is just average. It is only a ten minute Uber ride or 8.oo by red taxi. I liked staying here because it was so close to the airport and only a 7 minute taxi back to the rental car area to get a car. The breakfast was good and the staff are all kind, but the area around here is kind of sketchy. There are bars on all the windows and it makes one feel unsafe, but this hotel only has one way to get in, and they keep it secure. We felt safe here once inside, but walking around outside was done with caution, but then again, your in San Jose, so everywhere feels sketchy.

I didn’t do enough research before I booked this room. It was VERY small, about 8x12 and you had to share a bathroom. No AC It seemed clean enough and the staff was nice.

The check in staff were welcoming and professional - the location was fine - but not well lit from the street so we passed it a couple of times before we recognized it. The room itself was what we expected - except there were two windows that looked into the next room and hallway. We did have curtains but they should have been black out shades. The room was modest but comfortable and just as expected. The desk receptionist/hotel attendent was extrememly helpful and friendly. When we checked in he went out of his way to arrange a taxi for the next morning, to help us find food, and generally make us feel at home.

The attendant was great but will not stay again. The hotel is very small, one main room with big bed and no space to move and traveling with 3 others made it for a very uncomfortable stay. The loft had three twins but you couldn't stand without hitting your head, the metal spiral staircase was scary as heck, there was no AC, only one small light in shared space, hotel is old, and in the center of town was the worst idea, was a nightmare to unload on the street, with major traffic and then try to find a \"public parking,\" lot as there is no dedicated space, we checked out before breakfast soooo

This place is a super cute family owned hotel . Amazing service super kind and friendly staff . Daniel went above and beyond to help me on my trip as I arrived very late around 1am but he was there to greet me with a smile and great service ! The breakfast served in the morning was perfect and much needed after a night of long travels. Thank you to the staff of this hotel and I would highly recommend staying here to anyone flying in to San Jose for the price and the hospitality was 5 stars and super comfortable beds as well !!!

Unique hotel. Basic amenities. Mentions that hair dryers are available upon request, but they didn't have one when my wife needed one. Nice to find a place with rooms with multiple beds. My kids loved the hotel and its' uniqueness. Delicious breakfast was included in the stay and has a nice eating area in a covered outdoor eating area.

Had reservations to stay at the hotel. Unable to contact them by phone days prior to arrival, arrived at 8 p.m. no one was there no one would answer the Bell. Went to the hotel next door and the guy said that the place had been like that for months. He tried to call and get ahold of someone, after two or three calls you got a hold of a woman who came and brought me a key, she told me to let myself out in the morning and put the key back through the door slot. No staff would be on site all night long. I did not stay there stayed next door. Lost my payment. This place used to be a great place to stay, would never recommend now.

This place was great, but I would not recommend Hotels.com. I booked an earlier hotel and when I got their and the hotel was no longer in operation, it was a nightmare dealing with hotels.com.
A pushy person who spoke broken English called to sell me ANOTHER hotel, but refused to give me my money back. I am realizing hotels.com is a racket.

Simple and clean. My single room was quite small, but comfortable and inexpensive. Great for a single night stay after a late flight arrival, or before an early flight departure.
