It was great to be able to stay over and hike the next day. There is a shop on the premises but it closed before we arrived. The apartment was clean and easy to use. No coffee pot (or French press), but instant is available. The hiking was great!

The natural beauty is wonderful. The accomodations are dated with tiny kitchens, poor kitchen equipment and stained curtains. Beds are fine. I would describe the units generally as clean, and mostly comfortable. Definitely not in the \"luxury\" category as claimed. Luxury providers do not search their guests' cars when they leave the property. The reason given for the search was to prevent theft of plants and animals. The more likely reason is to prevent theft of microwaves.

We had a wonderful stay. The resort is close to many places of attraction which made access very easy. The only issue we had was with the showers/bath which had no curtain and made showers very messy.

A great experience!

An absolutely incredible experience. Friendly and professional staff + the property is well maintained. I want to come back and bring my family for a stay of at least a week. Only 4 recommendations for improvement:
1. The breakfast was great, but the supper/dinner was not so good - the fish was rubbery and tasteless.
2. The window of our chalet's bedroom had a big patch that was not cleaned on the outside.
3. An investment that could be considered would be to create a little wooden balcony that you can access from the bedroom, where you can sit and look out over the canyon.
4. We could not see much of the canyone from our bedroom or from the chalet, because the trees and bushes were not trimmed down.

Blyde Canyon Forever Resorts Rocks big time

My stay was amazing. The resort is near everything. We didn't have to go for hours to reach any attractions. The resort is clean but it will be wise to fill up the tea stations in the chalets as most of my friends were tea lovers. The food at the dining hall was great but most of my friends were complaining that othe staff members were unfriendly especially when they had to tidy up the tables.Some staff members didn't have smiles and when u order eggs, u'll have to wait for the people who came after you to be served first especially white people where given first preference by those ladies and they would great them with smiles and make sure that they get what they wanted without any hassle. Please management just try to correct that. All in all I can say, Blyde Canon a Forever Resorts rocks 💃💃and I could recommend it to anyone who would like to visit it.

Set up is beautiful specious rooms. We enjoyed the meals at Kidis Restaurant👌👌Wendy and the other waitress i cant recall her name, she's bit tall and slow in speaking they were very kind and helpful. Keep up the Good work!!!👏Siyabonga🙏 Disliked: The cleaners should try hard to clean inside the toilet remove yellow stains and bad odour. Try again to hoove the carpet. Lastly the old ladies forgot 2 lock our shalet after cleaning on Thursday.Overall we really enjoyed our stay we will definitely come back. May the Almighty Richly bless you🙏

Highly recommended

Excellent value for money if you are planning on staying in the area. The views of the 3 rondavels and the canyon are excellent from the upper viewpoint and there are some great hiking trails. The food at the kadisi restaurant was enjoyable and reasonably priced. The facilities provided are good i.e. the shop, pool and play areas for kids.

Great venue, poor service

Excellent location and great setup. Self catering or dining at the restaurant options. The resort is located centrally to most tourist sites. I was however disappointed with the lack of information and promotion of incorrect information. South was going through some electricity issues but the resort failed to notify or share the schedule for periods without electricity. The papers at receptions provides prices for activities but these are all old prices yet they still distribute them out! No initiative taken to make changes in order to make this a much more pleasant stay. Option they give you is you can cancel your stay but they will only refund after a couple of days! It almost seems like reception disempowered. Restaurant had excellent service.

The accommodation was provided all necessities of a 3 star accommodation instead of a 3.5 star accommodation, however, it offered other extra activities at the resort. The room had an extremely strong damp smell though and didn't go away with the aircon switched on.

one of the only options in the area, this place is very large. I was surprised to see so much \"lawn\" and all the sprinklers considering the drought. It was nice that there was a small convenience store for snacks and some basics, and the restaurant was open even around 3-4pm. However, the power went out when we first arrived, with no explanation, and came back on an hour or so later, and then the following morning it went out without warning again, and was off through our checking out. Not sure if power outages are \"normal\" in this area, but was a bit frustrating for making tea and getting ready. Views were quite nice, but at the best one, there was a group of guys smoking, which made it a bit smelly and uncomfortable to sit and enjoy the view. Be prepared to pay if you want to hike any of the trails, too. They charge a fee for a trail permit.

The hotel is very dated. The grounds are stunning. The view of the 3 rondavels was great. The rooms were very dark and dingy. The internet was non existent. If there was another choice, in the area, I would not stay here again.

Brilliant place to stay and great value.

Stayed here for the first time in 27 years - last time I was camping - this time we had a lovely cottage. Excellent place as ever and well maintained with good security. Has great viewpoints and walks within the resort.
The pool area should have parasols and sunloungers though - they used to have them so please get some installed

Nice resort for people with kids but rooms smell and need updating, restaurant not amazing and the resort is really big so you really need to drive everywhere. There are also a lot of baboons.

Nice little chalet; amazing views

We stayed in a very nice little chalet. Only issue was that when booking it specified that there was a shower, but our chalet only had a bath (neither my husband or I like to bath). Not sure what the issue with the geyser was, but my bath was lukewarm at most (which really was very inconvenient seeing as it was a particularly cold day at 13 degrees with rain), although my husband had hot water to bath in the next morning. The views of the canyon and the Three Rondavels from this resort is absolutely amazing!

Comfortable and a good location

It’s worth staying here for the excellent short hiking trails and the views at sunset and sunrise from the upper viewpoint.

Don’t come here expecting luxury. In its heyday I bet this place was amazing but the complex and huts (though we did stay in one of the more basic huts) were a bit dated. Our hut didn’t have a shower, only a bath, but apart from that had everything we needed for a comfortable self-catered stay.

It is a beautiful area. Hiking trails are worth it. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Great views from the restaurant. It was good to see that they are keeping the place clean and doing some upgrades to other chalets. I will definitely return again to Blyde Canyon.

Resort with lots to offer which we did not have time to use. Beautiful view of the canyon from the bedroom. But awful experience with the shower head (the water came out very strong and thin, like hot needles puncturing the skin).

Our stay was good and facility has great potential. It would help to invest in a bit of white linen for the beds to bring out a bit of colour and life in the rooms. The linen is worn out and very old which makes it dull. The rooms have all the necessities like plates, glasses and braai utensils which is great. Overall stay was great.

Unvergleichliche Ausblicke auf die Rondavels und den Canyon! Einige Wanderwege starten direkt am Resort.
Das Chalet ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen, die Schränke riechen muffig, der Fernseher funktionierte nicht, aber die wundervolle Umgebung mit den Tieren auf dem Gelände machen alles wett.
Das zugehörige Restaurant ist empfehlenswert.

We had a room with the view on the canyon, that was totally awesome! Everyone was very nice.
Food at the restaurant was OK for dinner. For breakfast, I would recommend not to chose the buffet, which was not satisfying for the price.

Et af de dårligste hoteller vi har boet på i lang tid. Værelserne var i dårlig stand og ikke vedligeholdt i flere år.
Personalet virkede uengageret og ikke serviceminded.
Vi kunnen ikke få håndklæder til poolen.
Udsigtspunkter på stedet var fantastisk.
Restauranten var rigtigt dårligt...maden var ilke ordentligt varm og smagte ikke sæglig godt.

Für uns war das Häuschen zu dunkel. Könnte freundlicher und heller erscheinen. Die vieöen Häuschen auf dem Areal sind schon älter. Dafür fühlten wir uns sicher auf dem grossen Areal. Pool war schön. Leider gab es am Abend nur Buffet. War in Ordnung. Viele frei lebende Affen auf dem Gelände.

Wenn man die drei Rondavels und den Ausblick auf den Blyde River genießen und in der Region auch wandern möchte, gibt es einfach mal keine andere Option. Die Lage ist top, um die Aussicht vom upper Viewpoint zu genießen und dort zu wandern. Die Häuser sind geräumig, aber die Innenausstattung ist sehr in die Jahre gekommen und dient nicht dem Wohlfühleffekt. Das Bad sollte dringend renoviert werden. Draußen gibt es eine Sitzmöglichkeit und einen Grill, aber Achtung, nichts unbeaufsichtigt stehen lassen, sonst klauen es die Affen;-). Das Restaurant auf dem Gelände kann man gut besuchen und in der dazugehörigen Bar ist es schön warm an kalten Abenden.

We very much enjoyed the stay. Fantastic environment, great staff. The restaurant was far better than expected - keep in mind this is not Cape Town. We have been here more than 20 years ago, the rondavells were unchanged but the chalets look better than that time. The walks are challenging when it’s hot - it was hot. The ressort grounds are huge, I did 8km joggings (keep the mind of the gradients!) without leaving it. It was pretty calm when we were there, only at the Saturday of our stay plus a bus tour frightened away the sleepiness during the other days. We loved the stay!
