As someone who visited Mexico for the first time, I throughly enjoyed my stay at the hotel. I spoke very little Spanish but I had no issues communicating with staff about needing things such as room service and accommodation. I loved how quiet and serene the location was. Room service and the restaurant had very good food. Only issue was that the power went out for about 30 minutes but came back quickly. Also had spotty WiFi during my stay but i was able to get some decent signal. Overall I recommend this place as someone who is staying in Morelia for the first time!

It is indeed a great hotel. But it does need a profound renovation in all areas.
The pool is unavailable and so the tennis court. Nobody made me aware of this before and during booking not to mention at check-in.
The staff is great!
I will think twice before coming back again.
So sorry for this wondeful hotel.

El lugar es sumamente tranquilo y cómodo para descansar del ajetreo de la ciudad es lo único positivo que puedo comentar.

El staff en general es muy amable y servicial a excepción de las personas en administración que se limitan a responder lo que se les pregunta.

La reserva se hizo para tres personas y sólo se nos proporcionaron dos batas y dos toallas, tuvimos que solicitar las adicionales.

La alberca aunque ligeramente climatizada, estába sucia con basura de los árboles y algunos bichos. El punto bueno es la vista, es todo.

El buffet de desayuno (fue lo único que probamos) es muy malo, tienen pocas opciones, nunca supieron explicar qué era un huchepo y el precio es sumamente alto para lo que es (más de 300 pesos un bufet así no vale para nada la pena), aunque cabe mencionar que el staff de restaurante fue increíblemente amable.

El spa es muy sencillo y los masajes aunque con precios similares a cualquier otro lugar no son más que regulares. No puedo decir mucho aquí, probamos el masaje con piedras y el anti estrés y fueron medianamente buenos, de nuevo, no hay un costo-beneficio parejo.

Lo que nos dejó con la boca abierta y defnitivamente volveremos es el Bistro casi frente al hotel! Santo Mate! Wow! 100/10!

En una oración, no regresaríamos al hotel pero si al Bistro de enfrente.

Really nice hotel

We were at Villa Montaña in mid November for a family reunion. Great weather! The hotel grounds and rooms were beautiful. We were a large group of family members, about 15. Everyone’s room was really rustic looking and nice. Only one room ended up with what looked like droppings on the bathroom counter one night but we informed the front desk and they immediately switched out the room for us. It ended up being nicer than the first! The staff were friendly and attentive. The food was pretty good especially since most times my family ordered the breakfast that was included which was filling and tasty. Since my wife is vegan, they were willing to prepare her food as requested, without meat or cheese or added oils. She was happy and it made things easier for her. Wish I’d taken more pictures. Our stay was short but we enjoyed it. We would stay again.

We booked a King size suite with a view for a two night stay but did not get the type of room booked the first night. We were given a 2 bedroom suite, without a view. The second bedroom and bathroom were locked. While the bedroom was quite large, the dining room was neither comfortable, nor inviting. The bedroom had a fireplace but we didn't use it, as the reception sent us an electric heater. In January nights are cold and the rooms with thick stone walls get even colder.
Our friends who booked the same suite as us were upgraded to the presidential suite - which was very beautiful. The rooms, the view, the decorations were exquisite.
The reception staff was very nice and helpful and we were moved next day into the suite that we booked. The terrace and the view were magnificent. We also had a wall mounted unit that made the apartment temperature very pleasant.
The restaurant was very nice and the staff very friendly and helpful.
Overall, a very nice stay, we will try to go back there - maybe this time we'll get upgraded too?!

The hotel staff is well trained and focused on your needs, from front desk to the restaurant staff, service was excellent.
The view is excellent up on a bluff overlooking the city, at night is that much nicer. The location makes is quiet and the setting is picturesque.
The room was spacius, clean and the staff left me a small tray with fruit. Very nice. The bed, had seen better days and the matress probably needs replacing. Other than that, it was superve. I will return

The resort is very nice; customer service at the restaurant is excellent, the rooms are big and very clean. The only downsize to this hotel is that the mattress where TERRIBLE, we have a room with double bed and both beds had horrible mattresses, we could rest at all. During my check out, I told the front desk about the situation hoping for a compensation or a discount but the only thing I got was a little card with my comments; I know where this little card is going to be. (trashcan) ,for the price of the room you expect better beds.

Stay with family: Customer Service can be improved

The checking in experience was very disappointing. Having booked the room well in advance (and paid for it) I called a day before the arrival to check everything was OK. They confirmed my reservation (2 rooms) and told me that I had a double bed bedroom and a king size bed bedroom. Arriving at the hotel the staff confirmed my reservation and gave me vouchers for breakfast (as indicated). Everything fine until the moment we went to our rooms and found out that both were double bed rooms and one of them was significantly smaller than the other. I called reception, saying that I was expecting one of the rooms to have a king size bed and both of them having similar sizes.

The people at the reception desk could not solve my complain and limited themselves to say that (1) the king size bed room was a mistake and (2) the rooms were ALL different in the hotel and the sizes were similar.

I was not happy and said that the argument of having all different rooms at the hotel was not valid given that the differences of sizes were significant and I had paid the same rate for both rooms.

Manager was called to intervene and she finally solved the issue with moving us to another (larger) room.

The issue here is: this situation could have been solved quicker if staff was empowered to take actions - they were not able to help and their attitude was unhelpful and foolish.

In contrast, the people at the restaurant were great. They should train staff at the front desk.

Love the location although it is not close to the town center. The view is fantastic and the restaurant has a nice selection. The pool is relaxing and refreshing. The rooms are perfect as each has a nice fireplace to warm up the room at night. Walking from here is easy and it's a nice way to get into town. The spa was great, with wonderful therapists.

Everything you could ask for in a hotel gateway & if they don't have something you need they will send someone to get it for you. Top 5 best hotel experiences so far for sure. Only one small complaint: the GYM treadmill & elliptical machines did not work I was truly disappointed about that but I made it work without. Anyway, I will be recommending this hotel & will be booking more stays with friends/family in the near future.

This is not a hotel where each room is like the next. This is a resort with each room like a little villa. Our had an ample balcony with 2 chairs and table overlooking Morelia: beautiful views day or night. The room had a fireplace with 2 armchairs and a table, a desk with chair, a huge bathroom that included a bidet, a very large king bed, large closet and 2 cabinets with drawers for clothes: ample! The meals were outstanding, made fresh not microwaved. The wine list, desert list, drinks, were wonderful. And all this for about 1/2 the cost paid in the US. Free wifi throughout. What a dream place! And the spa, out of this world!

This is our 3rd or 4th stay at Villa Montana, this time with business associates. They were as \"wowed\" as we were the 1st time we visited.

Villa Montana is probably the most relaxing and certainly one of the most beautiful hotels to be found. Each time we visit, we check into our room and rush out the door to check out the beautiful gardens and the view.

The rooms are beautifully appointed, very comfortable and have some lovely added touches like slippers and fluffy bathrobes.

Our welcome Fruit Plate was beautiful and delicious, as were our many perfect Margaritas on the quiet patio. For anyone who has not dined at Villa Montana, the presentation of the Fruit Plate and the quality of the drinks should definitely lead them to the dining room.

Every staff member at this hotel is charming, friendly and a true professional. The food, presentation and service in the dining room, both at dinner and at breakfast, have been of the highest standard on every visit.

Quite simply, we love this hotel and would recommend it to anyone seeking a totally relaxing and beautiful place to stay for a night, or forever.

We stayed at Villa Montana for the 2nd time for business reasons. This hotel is such a lovely place. The staff are friendly, professional and charming, the location is excellent, the view is outstanding, the rooms tastefully decorated and extremely comfortable with the lovely fireplace. The grounds are a work of art and a treat to visit - it's a difficult decision as to whether you spend time in your lovely room or outside on the lovely grounds.

We arrived with a pick-up truck load of plants. The parking attendant stored them all for us, out of the sun, in a secure spot. The hostess at the front desk is the pictures of what I like to call Modern Mexican professionalism - perfectly charming, perfectly bilingual and perfectly efficient.

We had dinner at the restaurant (again, as we enjoyed it the first time) and were again served excellent food by top-notch waiters from a kitchen where they pay a great deal of attention to the quality, presentation and taste combinations on the plate. Excellent restaurant at what we find to be excellent prices for the quality of the establishment.

Our complimentary breakfast was served in the \"other\" part of the restaurant, which is equally charming and equally well attended. Breakfast was delicious, with fresh-squeezed juice and fresh toasted muffins, attended by friendly, professional waiters.

Beautiful hotel in a stunning location

We spent a Christmas holiday at La Villa Montana, and it was fairly quiet. The weather was glorious, certainly for people like us from UK/Canada, with bright blue skies and warm sunshine, but evenings chilly enough for us to appreciate having the wood fire in our room. Fabulous views over the city, which is beautiful and historically very interesting. Our stay was made the more memorable because of the courtesy and warmth of all the hotel staff (with the young people on the front desk particularly outstanding). We enjoyed a special dinner on Christmas Eve, and found dining at the hotel generally good, though not perhaps quite so outstanding as the rest of our experience. But, really, La Villa Montana is a super place.

Charming, professional staff, fabulous village-like atmosphere, beautiful, comfortable rooms with fireplace and all the charm of Old Mexico. Our balcony and the view were spectacular. As an Expedia Gold member, my room was upgraded to a junior suite, we were offered a complimentary welcome Margarita (delicious), discount on food in the dining room and complimentary breakfast/credit.

The service and the food at both the evening meal and breakfast was excellent. Beautiful tables properly mounted with good linen, fine china and excellent cutlery. The service was prompt, friendly, very professional and most enjoyable.

The gardens are stunning, the atmosphere is subdued and I would recommend this hotel to everyone, but particularly those looking for a beautiful place to relax, unwind, dine and enjoy the gardens and the architecture.

All of the photographs on the hotel's website and truly representative of the establishment. We were delighted with our stay and will definitely return.

Everything was perfect but waiting staff in restaurant very bad we asked to be served the first night the second day waited 1 hour after aaking so we left to eat else where. Sad we had to walk in as millionairs instead as simple urban family

Great views and a wonderful experience

Beautiful hotel and friendly staff. We arrived on 2/6 and stayed for two days. We initially had an issue getting into the hotel grounds as the front gate was closed. I believe this was due to the local soccer team was at the hotel. After talking to a staff member, we were finally let in. The grounds were beautiful, the room was excellent and the view was awesome. We tried the restaurant and the food was excellent along with the excellent staff. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to feel pampered and spoiled.

Nice hotel in the mointain

Very nice hotel with full of nature. We got an upgrade to a master suite, ans the room was big. You can make a fire in the room. The bed was the most confortable ever. Breakfest are cheap but dinner is expensive. Overall, a great stay. I recommend it.
