Our room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. My room had a view of the Monte Cassino Abbey so I was very happy with that.

The downside is that it was hot in our room and we were told that the air conditioning in the whole building was off until the summer months! We happened to be there on a warm day in May and nothing could be done. We opened the window to cool the room down but that invited a few bugs into the room. Not a problem for us but it might be for someone else.

The other negative was the restaurant upstairs for dinner was not what we expected. The service was excellent and the linens and set up make it seem like it’s high end. The food was good but it was not high end quality. We had shrimp risotto but the risotto was not a traditional risotto, it was just rice. The shrimp pasta was very disappointing too.

The property is fairly nice, with incredible views of the Appenine mountains. The room was good with a big king size bed. The hotel is a few miles of the freeway, but it is easy to find. But the biggest surprise of all was the restaurant with excellent food and really excellent and polite service. The hotel is probably a really good starting point to explore the mountains and villages. we would stay there again..

It was peaceful and the bed was ok. The waiter for the restaurant was probably the only staff who communicated with us and one of the breakfast staff.
Poor atmosphere.
The receptionist don’t know how to smile and greet. No staff on the bar, only one effortless young lady from reception.

Great Hotel and even better staff members

One of the best hotel experiences i have ever had. It mostly starts with Angela at the front desk. She knows everything about the area. If you are there visiting the battlefields, the abbey, or looking for a place to eat, she can tell what you need to know. My wife needed laundry service with a quick turn around time. She had someone make sure it was done by the end of the day. The smartest thing this hotel can do is keep Angela.
The room was clean, AC worked well, great layout, and staff was professional. Highly recommend.

Very nice hotel and excellent location just outside the hustle and bustle of the city. The hotel staff was very nice and helpful. Restaurant was excellent and the wait staff was above average. I will give it 4 ½ stars. If it had a pool it would be 5 stars. I have found that most Best Western facilities in Italy and France are as nice as you can get without breaking at the bank.

The Rocca is a great, mid-price venue if you want to explore the WW2 battlefields all around. In fact, there is a small museum of battlefield artifacts in the reception area and a selection of memorabilia from military units who have stayed there. Next door is a waterpark with concessionary entrance for hotel guests in the hot summer months. The hotel gives good views of the Castle, beyond which lies the world-famous, and much fought over - Abbey. This is a 20-minute car drive (more in busy months). The Rocca lies about a mile out of town, so a walk for the fit, otherwise a short drive. Montecassino contains many good restaurants, but the Rocca's kitchen is also fine. Breakfast is also very extensive and good value. The general manager, Angela, is particularly helpful. Highly recommended.

Great place to stay, especially for families. Water park and indoor pool directly across from parking lot, a great way to cool off from the summer heat. Close to all amenities. Located in Cassino which is a great place to visit with great restaurants and shopping.

This was an overnight stop. The hotel staff spoke English and were helpful. Parking was readily available and the breakfast had lots of variety for a minimum price, it wasn’t included in our room rate. The bed was most comfortablle. This hotel would be great for business travelers.

What an experience

LOVED it. Spoilt with the view of Montecassino from our window as we slept with the curtains opens waking momentarily through the night to glance skyward to see her lights shining on the hilltop. Had to pinch ourselves then dozed off back to sleep in the most comfortable bed ever. Thank you to all the staff and Marcello, our private taxi driver for making our very short two days a memory of a lifetime.

Beautiful hotel. Clean spacious room we stayed in the Suite. Excellent service from the staff throughout the hotel. So helpful. Restaurant head waiter so professional. Food amazing.
We visited Cassino to see my husband's grandad's war grave. This was not too far from the hotel.

A Hidden Gem

The Hotel Rocca is a modern hotel set off the beaten path in a semi-residential neighborhood in Cassino away from the central business district. It's very clean and comfortable, with nice rooms and two dining areas - one which is used for the breakfast buffet and one which is a very good and reasonably priced restaurant; there's also a small bar in the lobby. The staff was very friendly, and the rooms were quiet and spacious. The breakfast buffet was very good and the wi-fi worked well. Parking was adequate and free. The only minor drawback is that there are no local restaurants within walking distance, but they're a short drive away. We'd definitely stay here again.

View of Monte Cassino Abbey

My great uncle, Jack Pilling is buried in the war cemetery in Cassino.
This was the purpose of our visit. My father now in his seventies want to visit his uncle's grave. The hotel Rocca is in a great location. The staff especially Angela were most helpful and arranged a private tour to take us to all the different locations we wanted to visit. The hotel also arranged our transfer from the airport and back. The rooms our to a very good standard. We ate in the hotel restaurant which had a good choice of dishes in the evening and a good selection at breakfast.

An excellent base camp for touring the multiple attractions of the Monte Cassino area. Rooms are spacious and comfortable; breakfast copious; restaurant very good and fairly priced; staff charming, multi lingual and very helpful. lots of parking space and a swimming pool next door. What's not to like?

Nice Friendly Hotel

We stayed here with family with 2 teenagers for 2 weeks and could not fault this Hotel. I found all the Front of staff, Bar, Restaurant and Breakfast Staff to be very friendy and very helpful. Angela on Front Desk was excellent, very informative about things to see in the area, to even organising taxi's for us, she looked after us very well throughout our stay thank you. Breakfast Staff Ivana was also excellent very helpful and friendly. Lots of breakfast choice to choose from too from 7am to 10am. Restaurant evening meal from 7pm to 11pm was of good quality with plenty to choose from and they also offer a 18 Euro 3 course meal. The hotel is clean, fresh towels and bedding every day, comfortable beds. The water park is directly behind the hotel which was great open all days from 9am to 7pm at a discounted price. Overall we enjoyed our stay, was comfortable and hassle free.

Nice Place and Good Restaurant

Staff very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was included and good. They have a lovely restaurant where we has a great meal. Parking was included which is always a bonus. The room was quite roomy and we had the largest balcony I have ever come across, including table and chairs. Very nice at the end of the day.

Excellent stay for Monte Cassino beside Waterpark

The staff is very friendly, the breakfast and staff at breakfast is exceptionally good. Freshly baked bread and fresh warm croissants for breakfast, the hotel is very clean throughout. We stayed for a wedding which was at the hotel, or beside it, so perfect location for us. The wedding location, part of the hotel was breathtaking. Complete with mini waterfall, willows, bridge over the mini lake. The food was very good. Minus - the shuttle bus only operates from 8am.. with a train at 06:20 that didn't suit. Also the website states \"free\" entry to the waterpark where it is infact a reduced price of €4 rather than €14 per person - buy the ticket at the hotel. The waterpark would be great with kids - there are lots of attractions for all age groups, however €14 is a steep price - when sunbeds and umbrellas are charged extra. Overall, I would definitely stay again.

Must Stay Location if Visiting Cassino

I took my son to Cassino for his 10th birthday as he is a WWII history buff and wanted to see the Abbey and surrounding area. Cassino is a wonderful town to visit, and the hotel is perfectly situated for getting around the town and Liri Valley and to the Abbey. We recently moved to Italy and have been living in a hotel for the last 2 months; after a weekend at the Hotel Rocca, I was ready switch hotels and commute to Napoli!

The hotel staff were absolutely brilliant and the service was very good - they knew who you were and which room you were in. The only fly in the ointment was the breakfast which was hit and miss. Breakfast was meant to be served between 7 -10 but on our first day we arrived at 9 and almost everything was finished!!!! It did improve but the hotel needs to remember that there should be ALL items available during service.

aI had to reasons to visit Cassino, one was to visit the New Monte Cassino and the Polish cemetery. My second reason is that I had to return a rental car in Rome by 12 noon, I was in S. Italy to far to make the drive on one morning, besides I have always wanted to See Monte Casino The only down side to the Hotel was 4.50 euros for on Capacino, in town they are .90, I drink 2 or 3 at a time so going to town was a no brainer.

La stanza piccolissima, il letto una buca con materassi molto usurati.
Abbiamo contattato la reception per una bottiglia di acqua da recapitare in stanza ancora la stiamo aspettando. Se nn poteva lasciare la postazione di lavoro avrebbe potuto dirlo.
