Das Zimmer war gut, das Personal immer nett. Sehr gutes Frühstück.
Was uns nicht gefallen hat, im Ruhebereich der Saune waren sehr viele Liegen „reserviert“, was es eigentlich nicht geben sollte.

Hotel staff are friendly. Pools were nice. Jacuzzi could be warmer. But some issues we had are the following:

Upon our first shower in the room, all of a sudden the water backed up and we were standing in 6-8 cm of dirty water. Later that night a maintenance member came and removed lots of hair from the drain.
(This should be checked and controlled before guests stay in the room).

Next, the Fridge was not working and was not cold. Our medicine had to stay cool and therefore we had to keep it by the window where we had it open all night as the air outside was cold. Maintenance came and said it can be fixed the next day. (This should also be tested before guests stay in the room).

Breakfast food buffet: “warm food” was cold, the bacon eggs sausage beans etc. We had to mention it to the waitress and she informed the kitchen, they then checked and made the warm element hotter. (This needs to be checked by the breakfast crew, as meat and eggs need to be a minimum temperature or there could be bacteria and people can get sick).

The bed mattress were dipping in the middle.

Room interior and furnishings look outdated, from the 90s.

There was a fire drill at the hotel on 17 Nov 2025, and the hotel guests were not informed about this at all. The hotel needs to give a notice before the drill, many guests were worried and confused!

Expectations where higher for this 4 star hotel.

We mentioned these things to management, but no apology or compensation.

I've been coming here regularly for over 10 years and will continue to do so. However, recently the hotel started asking you to pay extra for smoked salmon at the breakfast buffet...which honestly just looks cheap (rather simply remove the smoked salmon from the offerings if you want to...). The restaurant (Pechhütte) changes its menu every couple months and this means the food is often not very good -- its very hard on staff to master a new menu so often, so this is not on the cooks but probably the management. The new menu in particular is not set up to accommodate solo diners very well as new new appetizer menu is all \"sharing\" plates and it is unclear if it's enough for a meal for one or not. Everything I tried on the new menu during a few day trip was over-salted to the point of feeling my mouth burn -- and I like salt (!) The chef clearly struggles to cook meat to order, serving either overcooked or raw. I love this hotel but am at the point where I will not eat there anymore, which is a shame because the convenience of a restaurant on the property is wonderful. I just wish the Pechhütte would find a solid menu, stick with it, make sure they can consistently cook it well, and stop making new menus that clearly do so poorly that they have to be re-done every few months.

Prinzipiell ist das Hotel in Ordnung. Preis/Leistung sehr gut. Parken mit 12,— OK. Frühstück über dem Durchschnitt. Lager super.
Aber:

Im Zimmer der Hinweis, dass aus „Klimaschutzgründen“ nur alle zwei Tage gereinigt wird. Liebes Management, machen sie sich doch bitte ehrlich und schreiben aus Kostengründen. Ansonsten ein sehr „touristisches“ Hotel. Wer beim Frühstück nackte Männerbeine in Badeschlappen sehen möchte oder Leute, die direkt aus dem Bett mit Schlabbershirt am Tisch sitzen, ist hier richtig. Es wird leider keinen zweiten Besuch geben.

Leider nicht auf den Kundenwunsch eingegangen.

Ich hatte Ihr Hotel für meine Eltern gebucht.

Der Pool (indoor) war mit 26grad ausgeschrieben, dieser hatte er aber nicht.
Der Kaffee, den man bezahlen durfte, war kalt.

Das hundefreundliche Hotel hatte zwar Haus 2 für Gäste ohne Hunde buchbar. Dort waren sie allerdings nicht eingebucht.

Ich hatte auch extra bei der Buchung angegeben, dass meine Eltern starke Allergiker sind. Trotzdem wurde dies nicht beachtet.

Wundervoller Aufenthalt

Schönes und sehr gepflegtes Hotel mit hervorragendem Frühstücksbuffet. Der Spa-Bereich ist liebevoll gemacht und sehr gemütlich, insgesamt jedoch recht klein. Ebenso die Saunen, wo die Plätze schnell knapp werden, und auch im Ruhebereich findet nicht jede*r immer eine Liege. Insgesamt war es jedoch ein wundervoller Aufenthalt.

Tolles, tolles Auszeit-Wochenende!

Ein wunderbarer Aufenthalt mit sehr gutem Frühstücksbuffet, tollem Spa und sehr gepflegter Atmosphäre. Vor allem aber ein beeindruckendes Erlebnis was die durchgehende - und nicht nur vordergründig gespielte - Freundlichkeit des gesamten Personals betrifft. Schon ewig nicht mehr einen Aufenthalt gehabt, wo eine solche herzliche Freundlichkeit so toll erlebt wurde. Vielen Dank auch dafür.

A nice hotel lacking in hospitality

The hotel itself is well located and the infrastructure is very good. The big problem is the staff, who are not welcoming at all, especially the oldest receptionist with black glasses: she can knock you down within a minute with her bad attitude and her unwillingness.

Tolles Hotel für einen kurzen Entspannungsurlaub, sehr nettes Personal und angenehme Atmosphäre.
Einzig störend war, dass es keine Treppen gab und man immer auf den Aufzug angewiesen war.
Im April leider auch nicht allzu viele kulinarische Optionen in der Umgebung, aber das Hotel bot ausreichend Abwechslung für unseren Kurztrip.
Alles in Allem eine Empfehlung wert.

I discovered the Hotel Esplanade through the Videoshopping App Jooli and it was exactly what I was looking for. A quick escape from busy Berlin.
Judging from the video I was a bit scared that it would be too old-fashioned - but it’s actually quite modern in real life.
We enjoyed the surroundings - taking a long walk at the lake and warming up ourselves at the sauna and whirlpool afterwards. The spa was absolutely amazing - different temperature saunas, a steam room, large heated outdoor and indoor pools. A two-night stay wasn’t long enough to try out everything!
They also had a huge breakfast buffet with a chef making omelettes and pancakes! Everything was delicious.
Another plus - it’s an “Adults Only Hotel”, so also a perfect weekend escape for parents.

Only one criticism - parking could be free.
Otherwise, totally recommend for a relaxing getaway!

All spa and gym services including the indoor and outdoor swimming pools are closed. They don't tell you that until after you check in.
They advertise 2 restaurants, but the Italian is only open at weekends. You also have to book as the restaurant gets busy with non hotel guests.
You have to have a covid test everyday or you can't have breakfast at the hotel.
You also have to be tested for the restaurant and download an app to your phone.
The menu is only in German language, very poor for a hotel that advertises many languages.
The room was fine, but when you consider that none of the services are available the hotel is wildly over priced.
You also have to wear a mask everywhere that you go, even though you are tested everyday.

We had a very enjoyable three nights stay at this hotel. The room was spacious, the spa facilities top notch and all the staff exceptionally friendly and welcoming. The location is perfect for direct access to the walking and biking paths around the lake. The breakfast buffet had everything you' d want and excellent service and we also enjoyed dining at both their Italian restaurant O'vino and the more casual Pechhutte cafe, all topped off with evenings at the fireplace bar. Swimming at the heated outdoor pool was fun and the soap massage was a unique experience. This is an adults only hotel, which is an added bonus. We give this hotel top marks all around.

Splendid hotel in a great location.

We enjoyed it very much.The room was very comfortable and we found the staff very helpful. The variety of food available at breakfast was excellent and I didn't need to eat anymore until the evening. Pleasant walk into Bad Saarow centre for the railway station and local shops and cafes. It is good to be able to catch a cruise ship outside for a trip down the lake. My wife really enjoyed the swimming pool and spa.

Nach zwei Tagen haben wir eine Handgroße Porzellan Scherbe unter dem Couchtisch im Zimmer gefunden, glücklicherweise ist der Hund nicht reingetreten. Kommentar der Rezeption, sorry.
Handtücher auf einen Berg ins Zimmer gelegt, neue wurden gebracht alte blieben liegen.
Drei Tage lang lag sehr zentral im Wellness Bereich ein Bonbon auf der Erde, scheinbar wird dieser Bereich nicht gereinigt.

Für Kunden ihres Hotels, also nicht für Tagestouristen o.ä. 16€ zu verlangen- ausverschämt!
Wir sind seit Jahren Stammgäste, aber dies war vermutlich unser letzter Aufenthalt. Hochmut kommt bekanntlich vor dem Fall!

Overall, the hotel was very good. The spa area is fantastic, especially the outdoor pool and the saunas. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and I had a pleasant stay. The only downsides for me were having to pay €12 per day for parking, the food at the spa bar, which could definitely be better, and an additional Energiekostenpauschale that was charged but not specified on Expedia. Other than that, everything was great.

Wir waren über Jahre immer wieder Gäste hier. Umso enttäuschender ist es, wie viele Verschlechterungen eingetreten sind. Ehemals wurde man beim Check in mit einem Sekt begrüßt – ein kleines Detail nur, ersatzlos gestrichen.
Früher gab es hochwertige Rituals-Produkte im Bad. Heute steht nur noch ein trauriger 2-in-1 Duschgel/Shampoo Spender bereit. Kein Conditioner, keine Kosmetikartikel wie Wattestäbchen oder Wattepads – für ein 4-Sterne-Hotel ein klares Downgrade.
In vielen Hotels kann man freiwillig auf die tägliche Zimmerreinigung verzichten – ein sinnvolles und nachhaltiges Konzept.
Hier ist es jedoch umgekehrt: Für jede Zimmerreinigung werden 15 € extra berechnet.
Das ist nicht nur unangebracht, sondern wirkt schlicht unverschämt. Bei den ohnehin hohen Zimmerpreisen ist eine grundlegende Reinigung absoluter Standard und sollte nicht als Zusatzleistung verkauft werden.
Auch beim Frühstück ist die Qualität stark zurückgegangen. Die große Auswahl früherer Tage ist deutlich geschrumpft. Bspw wurde Stiege mit den kleinen Rauch-Säften ersatzlos abgeschafft, Auch die Milch-Station mit verschiedenen Sorten gibt es nicht mehr.
Beim Auschecken dann das „Highlight“: Für jede Nacht wird eine Energiepauschale von 6 € berechnet -bei diesen Zimmerpreisen sollte man davon ausgehen können, dass solche Grundkosten bereits inkludiert sind. An immer mehr Stellen wird versucht zusätzlich zu verdienen. Gleichzeitig ist das Haus in die Jahre gekommen. Preis-Leistungs passt nicht mehr.

Die Unterkunft hat eine tolle Lange am Scharmützelsee und bietet ein ordentliches Preis- Leistungsverhältnis u. einen schönen Wellness-Bereich. Zwei Dinge die schade sind:

1) Den besten Preis bekommt man nicht bei der Unterkunft, sondern bei Portalen. Damit wird Geld unnötig verschenkt, dass man besser den Kunden zukommen lässt, die willig sind, direkt im Hotel zu buchen.
2) Im Restaurant OVINO (gehobenes Preisniveau) gibt es \"Beilagenbrot\" zu Salat nur gegen Aufpreis... obwohl der Salat schon über 20€ kostet. Das ist kleinlich und unwürdig.

Sehr schönes Hotel am See und das Personal ist sehr zuvorkommend und mega freundlich. Das Frühstück bietet alles was man braucht. Die Zimmer sind auch sehr schön. Leider hatte der Bademantel einen großen Fleck und es gab nur 1-Lagiges Toilettenpapier (für ein 4 Sterne Haus etwas ungewöhnlich). Die Parkplatzsituation ist ebenfalls nicht ganz optimal. Wir mussten erstmal gut eine viertel Stunde rum fahren, bis jemand vom Parkplatz gefahren ist um überhaupt einen Stellplatz zu bekommen. Das könnte man noch verbessern aber im Grunde ein schönes Hotel.

Einrichtung ist, wie immer, eine Geschmackssache, die Zimmer aber eher wenig gemütlich. Es war sauber & ordentlich mit gutem Bett. Eine Wanne als Zusatz zu einer Dusche kann toll sein. In der Wanne stehend zu duschen ist bei einem Hotel dieser Sterne- & Preiskategorie nicht mehr zeitgemäß. Auch die Ausstattung des Fitnessbereichs ist eher am unteren Ende des Standards. Negativ aufgefallen ist uns das Gästeklientel das ein \"adults only\" Hotel anzieht. Da sind uns dann ein paar lärmende Kinder doch sehr viel lieber. Zeitweise hat es sich angefühlt wie ein Singletreff für Personen gehobenen Einkommens und Alters...
Ja, in Deutschland geht man meist nackt in die Sauna - in anderen Ländern ist das aber nicht unbedingt der Standard. Die Hotelgäste sind international & wer ein Kleidungsstück in der Sauna trägt, hat wahrscheinlich einen Grund dafür. Wir empfanden es daher doch ziemlich distanzlos das meine Frau von einem fremden Mann aufgefordert wurde nackt zu sein...

Schöner Wellnessbereich, ruhige Lage, man kann in der Gegend sehr schön spazieren gehen, im Dorf Bad Saarow drei Bäcker ein Edeka ein Netto. Das Personal im Hotel war super nett und freundlich der Wellnessbereich war sauber am Samstag etwas voll aber noch erträglich. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Ein Resort mit dem Ziel Entspannung

Es war wunderbar. Alles sehr entspannt und der Service hervorragend.
Es ist alles da was man braucht und was das Herz begehrt. Vor allem das Frühstück hat uns sehr gefallen und dass es am Wochenende länger geöffnet hat.

Leider muss ich auch eine negative Bewertung da lassen für das Restaurant „Pechhütte“, da eine Person des Personals sehr rassistisch war. Ein Pärchen vor uns stand beim Reservierungs-Empfang und es wurden diesem Pärchen gegenüber rassische Kommentare bzgl. ihres Glaubens gemacht.

Der Spa Bereich ist toll, manchmal etwas voll. Leute reservieren Liegen mit ihren Handtüchern, das nervt. Die Restaurants sind leider immer ausgebucht.
