Great for the centre of Ludlow and for the Food Festival which we attended. An amazing building on the outside. Not sure where the £2.5m on the refurb went. Stayed in the Deluxe Twin Room with Balcony. Not sure what the Deluxe referred to. Reasonably spacious but nothing out of the ordinary. Several old cobwebs behind the voile and one hanging down from the ceiling just outside the bathroom. Dust on the bathroom door architrave. Just generally tired looking. The staff were always smiling and polite which was great when it was mostly chaotic on Saturday evening between 6 and 8pm. Basically they weren't prepared for the number of people. Those staying overnight, those from the food festival plus locals enjoying the Saturday afternoon 'funk it up' gig. The poor staff didn't know what they should be doing and who to serve. Then the bar was out of stock because of the funk it up. And no I wouldn't recommend it or return. Management - get a grip.

Beautiful old building in good condition and decoration. Found being charged £7.50 a day excessive. The dinner we had were well cooked but the pieces of steak were very small. We didnt have breakfast as we'd heard from other guests that it was expensive for the content.

The room was very nice and comfortable and well furnished. Was slightly disappointed with the fine dining experience as the meal was not of the quality anticipated. The ingredients were good but my salmon starter was swamped with horseradish cream, and although the hake for the main course was cooked faultlessly, the broth on which it sat and the broth ingredients were barely lukewarm. My partner’s soup course was too hot to consume, and remained so for quite a long time. Also the table was made of plank type construction and there was very evident crumbs and detritus from various usage within one of the gaps. Would suggest it is vacuumed out and perhaps the gap filled in.

Very old characteristic hotel

Clean, quiet and close to the town centre.

We had to queue to check in, one receptionist on duty and three couples waiting.

The bedroom was clean and well presented, the bed comfortable but the pillows hard but that’s a personal preference.

No streaming on the TV, ie, no Netflix or other media channels.

Bathroom was fine, lose toilet seat and the floor tiles cracked. I think this is a result of trying to tile over an old wooden floor.

Car parking was available but the entrance is extremely narrow, it is an original coach entrance so not surprising.

Breakfast very expensive, we could eat in town at half the price.

Historic hotel with great character. However bedroom faced the main street and was very noisy after midnight with groups of young people shouting abusive comments to each other and others. Appreciate the hotel itself can't prevent this but maybe get together with neighbouring properties to tackle the issue?

Its a lovely old property and in an excellent location in the centre of Ludlow. Our room was at the front of the hotel and the street was very noisy from early in the morning. The room was hot but because of the street noise we didn't want to open the window. The duvet was a winter weight one which was far too hot for mid summer. There was a big step down into the bathroom which could be very difficult for some people. The staff were generally very helpful. Parking at £7.50 per 24 hours for paying guests was unreasonable. Drinks prices were higher than anywhere else nearby. Overall not good value for money.

Nice enough but needs a few tweaks

The hotel overall is decent enough but there’s just a few easy fixes that would make things so much better. What would have been a lovely Sunday lunch was ruined by the most repulsive gravy known to man, no toilet paper in the ladies toilet etc. The staff were all lovely but they could maybe just do with a little extra training. Room was perfectly comfortable and clean. This place has so much potential, just needs a little TLC.

Sadly due to the age of the building we could here guests in other rooms, due to the squeaking floor boards in our room and other guests room, there was a point during the night we felt like guests where in our room when walking around upstairs.
Other than this which obviously cannot be helped overall a lovely hotel.

Me and my wife stayed here as a treat while in town for a gig at Ludlow castle and we absolutely loved it.
It's probably the most expensive hotel I've booked but well worth it. Their is so much character in the historic building, our room was huge and so was the bed. It was very comfortable and overall really clean.
We slept really well too. The room was pitch black and we couldn't hear anything from outside.
It was a very warm evening so we were also very grateful for the aircon in the room.
We ate lunch here from the concert menu that was really nice and affordably priced and also had breakfast the following morning, where there was a choice of continental and hot menu options. This was lovely too.
There was a small bar where you could buy Starbucks coffees/frappes etc as well as alcohol.

There is a decent sized car park too onsite which is £7.50 per night. It's quite tight entering it but we saw 4x4s getting in ok.
The only thing I could comment in any sort of negative way was one of the corridors we passed through from our room to the stairs smelled very dusty and you could see the ledges caked in dust. We to be fair was unusual given how spotless the rest of the hotel was.
We absolutely loved our stay and if the concerts are on again next year, we'll definitely be treating ourselves again.

Considering this is a high end hotel. Bar area was messing, tables not wiped and papers scattered. Queues at bar, staff were stressed and couldn’t cope with number of guests. Room was small and some of the lights were not working. The room was stuffy and no air, window opened a tiny amount and a small fan was left in the room but not great.

Breakfast was very poor, waited 40 minutes for our full English breakfast. When arrived, food was Luke warm and not a great standard

This hotel is in a good location close to the town centre. The room was good with comfortable beds and the renovated bathroom was clean. The only issue was the noisy extractor fan outside which was problematic when the window was open. It was a hot day and so we needed the ventilation. Fortunately the fan was switched off at night.

Would have been excellent but for the room (twin bed) we stayed in. It was so hot we had to have a fan on all night, even with balcony doors open. Also, the entrance door had obviously been damaged, the jamb was loose! No effort had been made to repair.

The hotel car park is on a first come basis.
We are a motorcycle club, and use the feathers for our annual rally. We were concerned that on our return to the hotel our parking spaces would be lost. Accepting that motorcycles are more susceptible to damage when on a public park, the management kindly reserved an area for which we were very grateful.

We had a lovely stay at The Feathers. Highlights - well appointed, modern room with comfortable bed; central location; extremely helpful and friendly staff; and very dog friendly. We didn't eat dinner or breakfast there so cannot comment on the food or restaurant service. Room for improvement - the room was a bit warm (even on a chilly June day) but by opening the window, it became too noisy. Not sure how such an old building could handle that - but otherwise, we very much enjoyed our stay, would stay again and would recommend to others!

An old building in the centre of Ludlow with the town easily accessible on foot and, for car drivers, a car park available on a first come, first served basis although getting in and getting out requires skilful driving through the narrow opening that was far more comfortable for horses and carriage!
The bedroom was spacious and comfortable and the dining room simply charming. The food was excellent crafted by a skilled chef and team and ably served by friendly and efficient staff. The memory of the stay will remain as a positive prompt to revisit in the near future.

The hotel is full of character and quirks as expected with such a beautiful historical building but the room was in need of a lick of paint and a deep clean. It was a very comfortable bed and we had a decent nights sleep.
Breakfast was disappointing. The staff were lovely but they seemed under staffed as service was very slow and food was average at best - cold, rubbery bacon, sloppy over salted eggs and stale pastries. Not worth the price at all.
Be careful entering the carpark as the passage is narrow!

The room was very well-decorated and spacious for the price. Only negative was there wasn't any bedding for the sofa bed. After asking for some this took about 2 hours to source a duvet and bottomsheet. We were not given any additional pillows due to \"lots of pillows being stolen recently\" so they couldn't find just one spare for the sofa bed, in the whole hotel. It was nearly 9 pm at this point so didn't want to contest further, as we had a child with us. Sleep was therefore not as comfortable.

Nice looking property however the property is extended and stayed in a newer section instead of what I thought was the original building. Booked a room and paid extra for a balcony room. Balcony was dirty with roof moss all over it so didn’t use. It also was looking at the car park not the front of the hotel. Breakfast wasn’t a huge choice of Continental had a lot more choices elsewhere. Cooked breakfast was not help your self but made to order. I hade a vegetarian one which came with 1 sausage ,1 hash brown ,tiny pot of beans ,1 tomato 1 mushroom ,£15.95 per person which is very expensive would advise eating elsewhere. It was about 45 minutes late also
