Great place! The sea view is amazing, and there’s a very good spot to enter the water. The restaurant has a beautiful view, and it’s very close to the sunset point. The accommodation is nice and very comfortable, and the staff is wonderful — very friendly and helpful. The only point is that the cleanliness could be improved a little. Overall, we had a great experience!

Scallywags was such an amazing place to stay! There were times where after some food on the beach I wanted to escape the heat and my private pool with some Bintangs from the mini bar were just what I needed! All the staff were very kind and helpful! I can’t recommend this place enough! If you stay at scallywags you are going to love it!

Our family really enjoyed our stay at Scallywags in two adjoining garden villa rooms. Although the hotel is close to the busy part of the island we didn't hear a thing from the rooms. The food at the restaurant was great, as was the service from the staff. Was very easy to lie on the beach out the front of the hotel and to swim with the turtles as they floated past. Highly recommended.

Nice island hotel I’ve been too. Everything is outside. Room is massive and you’re own large personal bathroom is outside in a patio to give you an outdoor shower. Absolutely beautiful. Great pool and right on the strip. Also very quiet at night. I actually extended my stay another 2 days because I knew I’d never get a place like this again.

Loved my stay. The room was clean and had everything I needed. I really appreciated the gallon of fresh drinking water supplied in the room.

The staff were amazing and the location was perfect for my needs. Close enough to walk the length of the main road, but far away to not be bothered by the nightlife.

Breakfast and dinner right by the water at the on site restaurant was fantastic.

I had two massages with Mais at the spa, and felt very relaxed afterwards.

My husband and I stayed here while getting our PADI Open Water and it was really nice. We booked the plunge pool room and we thought the price was very reasonable. The bathroom was large and clean. We had a fridge and drinking water which was essential and the room was quite spacious and felt very private. It’s right on the beach so we were able to get dropped off by the speed boat right at the hotel.

The staff were hit and miss, some were fantastic and some were rigid and borderline rude. The hotel cleanliness is more of a “good from far”. For a hotel near the port it’s good, though, I’d probably stay on the sunset side if I was to return.

Good location, a few minutes walk from the harbour which saves one having to haggle the price for horse cart.

Hotel restaurant right on the beach (beautiful setting). Friendly staff.

Our room, next to the reception,was surprisingly quiet even though there are are plenty of bars with loud music nearby.

Not that many loungers by the pool but we were spending most of the time on the beach, snorkelling and hopping to the other islands.

Overall nice and easy stay 😊

Would Stay Again!

Really nice hotel within walking distance of the port (this means you can avoid taking the horses!) Breakfast was great and filling with lots of options. The rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable. Really interesting to have an outdoor shower so that was a fun experience. Highly recommend their spa treatments too - so good and affordable! Also, as we were part of Scallywags in Gili T, we we able to use their facilities in Gili A - great bonus!

The property is located in a great location, close from the main pier and very conveniently in the main strip of shops. Our room had AC issue and instead of a double bed, we were given a twin bed. They did fix their mistake and also got someone to fix the AC and gave us another room to rest in. The drawers were also not emptied from previous guests.

Had a garden room with a cute little courtyard. Room was very clean, staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and has a fully open air bathroom, which is a bit strange feeling at first, but the coolest shower under the stars. The restaurant was tasty and the beach is beyond magnificent. I was impressed by this resort. My room was very quiet and the pool was tranquil and usually not busy. I’d happily recommend this spot.

Really glad we chose Scallywags to stay whilst on Gili T. Easy walk from the wharf. Excellent pool. Awesome food. Friendly staff. Nice room - we had the garden/outside shower and loo with friendly Gekos! The beach is right out front along with the dining tables. Such a nice stay.

This property was very central. About a 10 min walk from the port. Tons of bike rental available in front of property and has its own dive shop and beach front restaurant. Pool is nice but not facing the street. Not a luxury property but perfectly comfortable and clean.

We recently enjoyed an ocean view suite at Scallywags on Gili T. The view was lovely, and the room had great AC to break away from the heat. Do note that since this room is street-facing, it does pick up lots of noise from surrounding parties, so if you're a light sleeper, it can be loud at night (but personally, I was not phased/bothered.) The room could be a bit cleaner (fresher linens, deeper cleaning in the bathroom), but overall we had a comfortable stay. Thank you to the friendly staff!

We stayed in a garden villa room - The stand out feature was definitely the amazing outdoor bathroom. Breakfast was served on the beach with a great menu selection.
Really helpful & friendly staff. We had treatments in the spa which were excellent and very reasonably priced.

There were a lot of flies and mosquitos in the outdoor toilet. We also saw a huge cockroach in our room on our last night stay. Overall cleanliness isn't that great I feel.

On top of that, the doorbell was faulty and it rang every 10 minutes throughout the entire night - we did not get any sleep that night.

Overall, I wouldn't recommend to stay here although the location is great - along the main street and not a far away walk from the ferry terminal.

Lovely small hotel situated mitutes walk from the harbour, surrounded by little bars and restaurants.
Staff are all very welcoming and friendly. You even get a free drink on check-in.
Nice seculded pool at the back of the hotel is nice.
Ocean view rooms are amazing, just be aware you will smell the bar be ques burning into the night and may hear noise from the street.

The room was gorgeous own private patio with gate. Amazing outdoor shower and toilet. Aircon in room was amazing! Wifi not the greatest but this is due to storms on the main land - This also affected the TV connection . Yudi was the most helpful courteous staff memeber can’t thank him enough for all his help organising a private car and speedboat when the harbour was shut from the mainland(Dempassar). Flights from Lombok super cheap and easy to get to this great location !

On the safety site. Being a regular hotel guest all over the world. There is no fire detection in the room. I didn't see a fire alarm, no escape plan and i guess all have to get out through the pool area which is impossible if the fire originates there.

Scallywags is one of the better hotels on the island I feel. It has the best beach front - water is clean and swimmable. Not any rocks or anything on the beach or in the water. I stayed in a garden view room which was very clean and spacious!

2 nights in the Gili Islands at Scallywags

The Scallywags resort is a wonderful option if you are in the Gili Islands. I was there for 2 nights during the Bali festival in March that had us discover this island. I had the chance to meet the owner and he was great. The hotel is beach front and close to everything. Check out the BBQ grill options the hotel offers, the meal selections are terrific.

- Location is strategic at the end of the island’s busy street. Good place to stay if want to avoid loud noise from bars/ partying areas.
- Rooms are very clean and spacious enough for 3 of us.

Absolutely loved our stay at Scallywags. Didn’t want to leave! From the moment we arrived we felt welcomed and were offered a complimentary drink (beer, soft drink, smoothie etc basically whatever you wanted off the menu), we were early to check in but it was no problem at all and we were upgraded to a garden room, with a quaint garden, lovely room with everything you would need, the comfiest bed and pillows I’ve had in a long time and the best cot bed made up for our toddler. The outside shower/wash and toilet area was amazing! Better than our 5* hotel we were going back to in Bali after our two nights in Gili Trawangan. The pool area was beautiful and the late night dip with the little one to ware her out for bed was perfect :). We ate in the restaurant/BBQ area one night and it was delicious with the free salad bar being a great extra. Breakfast was also good at the resort too. Thank you Scullywags for taking such good care of us during our stay, we will definitely stay again when we manage to get back <3

We enjoyed an awesome 8 night stay at this hotel, in a room with a plunge pool. From the minute we arrived we received attentive great service, the breakfast buffet was well catered for (except the choice of instant or Lombok coffee), other meals served on the beachfront were also wonderful. Location is the best!! Away from the Mosque and party strip, but not too far to enjoy a pleasant stroll to find somewhere for drinks and dinner. Sun lounges on the beach front, bikes to hire, diving etc. Beach position is not bad either. Everyone was extremely helpful!!

Staff were great from the welcome drink of a Bintang (much appreciated) through to sorting out bike hire and recommending places to eat and drink on the island. The swimming pool was lovely. Breakfast buffet was excellent - the best I had on my holiday. The room was clean and comfortable and I liked the outdoor bathroom set up.

Scallywags has everything you can think of!
- Diving, Snorkeling, SUP, Restaurant, Massage & Spa, Bicycle rental, Boat shuttle for islands hopping...etc.

Friendly and helpful staffs there.

Down side was due to the open concept toilet/bathrooms, slugs will appear! However, staff helped to eliminate the slugs by catching it into a bag (Not killing them)

We loved our stay at scallywags. The hotel is at the start of the main party strip on Gili T. And close to the night markets.The room was large and overlooked the pool. The staff are very welcoming and all so happy and friendly.We had breakfast there on the beach each morning and we also had the bbq on the beach. Food was so good. Would definitely stay here again and would recommend this hotel to anyone, you won't be disappointed.

Great restaurant and buzzing bar, most popular one there for seafood dinner. Friendly staff.

Hotel is really close to the harbour (we got bumped by horse and cart man when we arrived), I suggest you just walk it to the hotel as it's very close.

Room and beds were great, only down side is the tv and phone weren't working so we couldn't watch the news or make phone calls. Fridge is a bit loud makes buzzing noise.
Otherwise, great hotel, id stay there again.

We booked a twin room and got a double room. The double room smelled fungus and humidity and looked worn down. The reception staff wasn't very helpful to begin and laughed at me when I wanted to cancel the booking. They finally called the manger and got us another room. Before that they said they had no rooms available. The room we got was above the restaurant and all the BBQ smell got right into the room. In general they were far from what we were expecting them to be according to the reviews. The reception personnel specially the big boned guy should be nicer towards the guests. the cleaning staff were very good and helpful. But our overall feeling is that we were disappointed and expected more!

Clean, Convenient, Beautiful

I loved staying at Scallywags during my time on Gili T. The place is so well thought out, the service is great, and the location is perfect. I stayed in one of the patio rooms and I definitely recommend this over their pool or ocean view rooms. You don't have a view, but you have a beautiful garden patio with table and chairs and really lovely outdoor bathroom. The rooms are really thoughtfully designed with both beauty and function (wonderful lighting and so clean!). Each room has its own wifi router which I found to be very fast certain times of the day. Bed was extremely comfy, and you can grab DVDs at the front desk or watch the ones already loaded on the player. My room included breakfast which was an awesome buffet including fruit, bread, cereal, potatos, etc and proper fluffy pancakes and eggs made to order in the restaurant overlooking the beach. I can go on and on, it was really just a great place, nice enough to hang around, but close enough to other things to enjoy.
