We loved this place! The check-in staff was welcoming and joyful, the decor charming and happy, room was 2 story and spacious with a balcony and INCREDIBLE views. Wow.

We had pizza for dinner on-site, and a nice breakfast included in the morning with cups of coffee to go for the road.

Only minor drawback was there was only handsoap available for washing in the shower. Still loved the stay and the charm of the place and staff overall.

Overall a fine stay

Check in was prompt & straightforward, & we were greeted in a friendly and helpful and efficient way. Our room was sparse but functional, although facing the road it was noisy especially with trucks rolling by during the night. Breakfast was nicely presented and tasty. The dinner menu was limited but also tasty. For what we paid I might have expected a little more comfort but otherwise we were happy.

Warm welcome exceeded expectations

Hordatun is in an incredible location and we’d highly recommend requesting a room at the front to watch the scenery from your balcony!

The room we were in - 111 was well equiped if you were to book for a short or long stay. With a reasonably stocked kitchen, lots of space to hang gear and a comfortable couch to relax on.

Whilst we found the room met our expectations the wonderful welcome and consistently attentiveness if front of house staff member Anne really made an impression. Such a lovely, happy, friendly host Anne gave the impression she’d do anything possible to make sure we had a great experience.

The wifi was a bit hit and miss but whilst on holiday enjoying the view who cares!

We ordered pizza for our late lunch early dinner and it was delicious!!

Thanks Anne we will always remember your kindness when we think of our trip to Røldal.

This hotel is right on the main road with an absolutely stunning view. Staff was very friendly, we had dinner and breakfast and food was quite good. The exterior needs a bit of paint but the room was huge with beds for two in a loft, two in a private room and a pull out bed to sleep two more.

Spectacular location with breathtaking views!!

From the moment we walked into the lobby we were welcomed and sensed an overall comforting \"vibe\".
Our apartment was spacious and inviting. The views were spectacular from every window. We sat on the deck and experienced the panoramic scene. Our dinner was delicious and plentiful. The beds were delightfully comfortable. Overall a very positive experience and found it difficult to pack up and leave! Thank you !!

The check in is after 3pm as it says on the website. We arrived around 1pm, and there was no one to greet us until 2pm when the dining area opened. Overall it was a comfortable stay at an amazing location. If you are sensitive to car noise, you might want to get a room behind the main building.

Our assigned apartament exceeded my expectations ! It was big, roomy, clean, modern, the view of the mountains and water was nice, it was very quiet, the kitchenette was a so helpful. Our beds were at the second floor (( steep stairs, though ). My 10 year old son appreciated and enjoyed jumping on the trampolines a lot . Breakfast was not great, not a lot of variety, but OK. My family and I would stay there again, for sure . From reading other reviews i understand that each unit is independently owned so perhaps all are not the same however from what i saw they all looked great. For the comfort we had, the price was right. You can not go wrong with this hotel.

stopped on our way to Bergen. Lovely view quiet considering on a major highway. Facility a bit dated and slats loose under the bed but these minor inconveniences were no problem during our stay. Note that this is not a \"hotel\" but more of apartments for rent - there is no room service. But there is a kitchen with range and small fridge and bathrooms is generous in size.

Nice hotel in Roldal, not quite Odda!

We discovered that we weren't in Odda, the city, but in Roldal, about 35 minutes south of Odda. The Expedia search indicates that the Hordatun is in Odda, but the map indicates that it is actually in Roldal. We were heading to Odda when we realized we'd passed the hotel.
Our room was clean, roomy, comfortable; spacious bath, kitchenette, nice bed. However, the internet is VERY sketchy; we couldn't connect at all from our room, and had a hard time staying connected for more than 3-4 minutes in the restaurant.

Amazing view from room. Bedroom was quite small. Near highway so you hear traffic going by. Proprietor was a little cagey. We arrived at 10:30 pm and the reception was closed. She acted like she was doing us a huge favor to honor our reservation and permit us to check-in to room.

This is a condo rental.

Front desk may not be open for late arrivals. In which case they may hide a key for you, but it may be hard for you to find the key.
Not much in the dining room except pizza, but the pizza was acceptable. Breakfast was OK.
Room was sparse, condo owner probably didnt want to take chance of losing anything valuable.
Otherwise, clean and comfortable.

Nice Mountain Hotel

The Hortadun Hotel is a nice ski hotel (for skiiers) or a stopover hotel. The rooms all have kitchens and are equipped with everything you may need. We stayed there only one night on our way to our next destination, but enjoyed the clean mountain air. The bedrooms are small, but there is a living area in the suite that makes up for it. The staff are very friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Hordatun Hotel gav oss en veldig positiv erfaring. For det første er rommene STORE, for det er faktisk små leiligheter, med eget tekjøkken - inkl. kjøleskap og kokemuligheter. En liten 1-roms leilighet, med stor og bekvem sofakrok.
Vi spiste ikke varm mat, men de hadde et kjekt utvalg i restauranten/bistroen sin.
Utsikten fra hotellet utover vannet og fjellene er helt super.
Det var litt støy fra trafikken utenfor på kvelden, men det ble helt stille og veldig lite trafikk om natta.
Alt i alt en super erfaring med et hotel som vi gjerne besøker igjen!

Rummen var lite trånga, och standarden något gammaldags. Badrummet var minimalt och avloppet satt på andra sidan rummet bredvid toaletten, vilket innebar att allt vatten forsade över hela golvet innan det hittade ner i avloppet.

Stayed in a family room which was a spacious apartment. We had requested a room with a view and got a a top floor with amazing views over lake and the mountains. Kids enjoyed trampoline in the backyard. Staff is very hospitable and there were plenty of free parking.

Die Sauberkeit war gut.
Lediglich zwei LED-Lampen im Zimmer haben kurzzeitig geflackert und der Toilettensitz war locker (was wir aber beides nicht reklamiert haben).

Wir waren nur eine Nacht auf Durchreise dort. Nett eingerichtetes (Ikea-Stil), geräumiges Appartement.
Da es für diese Nacht insgesamt nur zwei Buchungen gab, wurde uns das Frühstück (Brot, Lachs, Nutella, Aufschnitt, Käse, gekochte Eier, Weintrauben,Apfelsaft) schon vorab in den Kühlschrank gestellt.
Dies war für uns sehr praktisch, da wir so abends schon davon essen und am nächsten Morgen früh losfahren konnten.

Rezeptionistin war sehr freundlich. Von der Umgebung konnten wir auf Grund von Regen und Dunkelheit wenig sehen.

Net hotel. Personeel aan de receptie (en die doen ook - voornamelijk - het restaurant, maar dat wel beter) op de dag van aankomst was weinig gemotiveerd. Probleem, zoals bij meer van deze hotels, is dat er geen rekening wordt gehouden met gasten met zware koffers. Je sjouwt je rot over hoge drempels en trappen op en af. Wat geleiders links en rechts, waar je een koffer over kunt rollen, zou wonderen doen.

Amazing view from the room and balcony. The whole area is stunning. The room we got was like an apartment with a loft and kitchen with all equipment, including dishwasher.

The restaurant had a basic menu with food that was totally OK. Pizza, nachos with chicken or minced meat etc. The breakfast buffet was acceptable.

The staff was very friendly and helpful.

All in all a great stay!

Un buon hotel un po' rumoroso

L'hotel gode di una bellissima vista sul lago ed il personale e' molto gentile ed attento. La camera era pulita e molto grande. Per contro l'hotel si trova su una strada ripida trafficata da TIR, che passano giorno e notte, facendo un discreto rumore. Ho trovato i letti piuttosto piccoli (in larghezza, penso inferiore ad 1 metro) per la mia stazza. Inoltre per accedere al letto ho dovuto salire (e soprattutto scendere ) una scaletta di legno di 4 metri. Colazione piu' orientata alla tedesca che al nostro cappuccino e cornetto.

Vi fikk en leilighet som var mye større enn forventet, med eget soverom. Flott møblert og godt utrustet, og med fin utsikt over vannet. Vertskapet var hyggelig, og frokosten var god.
