Jane-Anne
The staff, the food, the atmosphere are all great. Very clean. This was our second time staying there. We haven’t really used the other amenities such as the pool yet but hope to on another visit.
Christon
The hotel is absolutely beautiful and well in theme with the surroundings, old colonial charm, that being said some of the fixtures and the flooring tiles could be updated. I highly recommend it. The restaurant was also great we had breakfast and dinner there the food and the service was excellent. We extended our stay by one night as we loved the hotel that much.
Jean Paul
Come over and relax
Perfect place for a taste of Minas Gerais. I write this in English because Brasilians already know of the splendor of this establishment. You will not find a more comfortable, rustic, beautiful hotel in this region. The breakfast with most of the food cooked on the wood stove makes things even more special.
Jane-Anne
All the staff were top notch. Beautiful bar, restaurant-breakfast room.
Very convenient location for walking around town

AMAZING NO DOUBT I WILL BE BACK.
John
Our stay at this Hotel was excellent. The entire staff, from the front desk, the restaurant & bar staff, to the maintenance people, were all very helpful and friendly. We had some special requests due to our health issues, and the staff were accommodating and provided solutions readily. The hotel itself is beautiful and preserves the colonial style. It is well located near the central district and next to local shops. The Hotel Bar is stunning and a particularly a fun spot to hang out.
Graham
Nice period property _ trade off is small rooms.
Richard
The pools are great. The restaurant is also excellent
Sumana
Beautiful property with the most incredible and friendly staff! Made my stay memorable and relaxing.
Shigeo
Nice hotel with a subpar restaurant
The hotel was very nice, but the restaurant food left a lot to be desired. We had the duck confit and it was dry and the accompanying rice was undercooked. We also had two pastas with red and white sauce and pieces of beef but they were only average. The green salad was very good though.
The breakfast was limited compared to other restaurants I'd been to recently. Although it was nice to have eggs prepared individually, the choice of meats to go with the eggs were very limited. There were no potatoes nor vegetables. There was no yoghurt drink.

Best hotel in Ouro Preto by far. Beautiful property! Super comfy and cozy rooms. The restaurant and the heated pool should be checked out!
Glayson

Location was beautiful and the property was wonderfully renovated.
There was no complimentary water and the cleaning products they used were a bit too strong smelling, otherwise everything was wonderful.

Beautiful setting on a quiet street with a church and plaza on one side. The walk to the center is very quick. We loved our room which overlooked an interior courtyard.
The lobby is lovely - they even light candles in the evening. The breakfast was fantastic. Overall we couldn’t have been happier with our stay.

Great location; needs update asap
Hotel is in a nice location but needs to be remodeled asap. It was probably much nicer 10 years ago... disappointing breakfast. On a brighter note, the staff was very pleasant and accommodating

This was our sixth stay there and the Solar do Rosário will always be our home in Ouro Preto
Enrique
Wonderful venue (restaurant et al), in a magnificent setting - a great getaway!

A good choice for a visit to Ouro Preto
Lovely colonial style hotel in a good location. The rooms are rather small but comfortable and clean. We had one which was on a beautiful courtyard.
Excellent breakfast with great choice of food.

Excellent hotel close to all
Charming colonial building. Great location, close to all but really quiet. Our room faced the back patio and had a great view of church cupola to left. It was just big enough to take 2of us and 2 pieces of luggage. Bathroom big enough for 1 person at a time. All very clean. Staff were excellent. Food is local and very good. Excellent breakfast. Valet parking if needed. 2 pools - used the outside one which was very idyllic. We visited in February which is low season. very reasonably priced.

Quiet, traditional style hotel
The hotel is comfortable and feels quite traditional in this quiet town or Ouro Preto.
The staff are friendly and helpful.

Lovely room customer service and food
Lovely room customer service and food. We planned to stay only 2 nights but extended to 3 because we liked the hotel so much

Beautiful central location
We went for Semana Santa. We were right in the heart of the parades. Be prepared if you have a street facing window to hear the creating of the carpets, all night. But what an experience. We would definitely stay here again. Great, friendly staff. They even get us an Easter present!
Marcella
Disappointed
The hotel doesn't has channels in English, the restaurant of the hotel doesn't have a lot of things (alcohols). I felt like it was to expensive for what they offer. Already stayed in amazing hotels in São Paulo for example and it costed less!
Hugo
Excellent option
Nice hotel and facilities, including a beatiful swiming pool and charming details. It is located not far from the main atractions and in a peaceful neighborhood.
Karl
Great hotel near the city center
Excellent hotel in the center of the city. Great location for the price, but the drive to the hotel can be a bit daunting for a foreigner. Hotel staff speak English and were extremely friendly. I would recommend this hotel to others.

Elegant and Comfortable
Although not very close to the Ouro Preto main plaza, for years we have always opted to stay at the Solar do Rosario because of its beautiful setting, excellent staff and comfortable room.
Perry
A very attractively designed, well-tended hotel with pleasant service. The back garden is lovely, with a small outdoor pool and an indoor lap pool and jacuzzi. The breakfasts were excellent, as was dinner in the restaurant. The hotel is in a good location, on a nice street close to sights but not smack in the center.

Another wonderful stay at the Solar do Rosario!
This was our third or fourth stay in the Solar do Rosario and have come to consider it our \"home away from home\" when we are in Ouro Preto. We love the warm, traditional ambiance and appreciate the friendly staff..

Great hotel
Great hotel, beautiful location and very helpful staff. Some rooms have a patio, make sure you try and get one of these

A nice stay
Very nice hotel, good restaurant and nice breakfast.
The room was little, with a tiny wardrobe. The bathroom had a nice old bathtub and a nice shower. If one day we go back to Ouro Preto, we will stay at this hotel again!

Amazing hotel, lots of character
Great hotel. They do classical/period colonial-era furnishing and decor wonderfully, without seeming quaint or haphazardly thrown together, with modern touches that blend in well (like a fantastic jacuzzi tub in their suites). The staff speaks limited English, but that really wasn't much of a problem. We were able to check-in, get our car parked, order room service, etc. without too much sign-language. The location is perfect, right next to a beautiful church, and a short (5-10 min) walk to the center of town and Tiradentes Square along a very pleasant street situated on a ridge with commanding views of the town. I would not hesitate to stay here again; Ouro Preto is a fantastic destination and this is probably the nicest hotel there.

Beautiful old hotel with excellent facilities
The Hotel Solar is beautifully situated next to one of the important churches in Ouro Preto and not far from the center of town and other sites around the city. While the rooms are some what small/cozy this is an old hotel and the grand public spaces are really lovely and worth spending time in. The heated indoor pool up the hill from the hotel is lovely, especially for an evening swim before dinner. The grounds are beautifully maintained as well. Breakfast is a beautiful and tasty spread with fresh made egg dishes and excellent juices. We had dinner there as well and the restaurant service was impeccable and the food very good as well.

Bom café da manhã , quarto limpo , e bons funcionários
RENATA
Modernização do banheiro, elevador.

O hotel é lindo e certamente vamos voltar.
Daniel
Localização do hotel é excelente.

Contudo, achei péssimo o atendimento do Bar! Me decepcionei muito!

A estadia no hotel é excelente!

Voltaria a me hospedar.

Boa estadia
O hotel é lindo, bem cuidado e estruturado.
