Loved my stay here. The location was great, just a short walk to the main vine bridge in Iya Valley. But it's also secluded enough to really feel the remoteness of Iya Valley.
My room was wonderful, very well appointed and clean.
The high point was the staff. They were all wonderful and kind, and went above and beyond during my stay. They even drove me to the bus stop in the morning so that I wouldn't have to walk with my suitcase. I would absolutely stay here again.

Wow. What a unique experience to stay in this beautiful inn nestled in the Iya Valley. We were the only 'foreigners' and didn't quite know all the etiquette but the all people there were so friendly and kind. It wasn't clear when we booked, but dinner and breakfast were included in our rate and both were outstanding. Up there with the best Japanese food I've ever had. The onsen baths were great - particularly the outdoor one surrounded by rocks and maple trees. The vine bridge is just a short walk away and I recommend going to see it lit up at night (though you can only cross it during the day). Would love to go back someday.

Nice but short stay

We spent one night and we enjoyed it. The hot spring is good and you have everything you need. The staff is really nice specially the young lady and the environment is excellent. I would only say breakfast and dinner are a little expensive. Because we are not japanese we couldn’t fully eat the traditional breakfast they serve. Overall we really recommend the stay

This ryokan was in an excellent location walkable distance to the vine bridge and waterfall. The food was excellent and the staff was very friendly. Room was clean with a great view, and the futons were comfortable. Would definitely recommend this place if coming to iya valley!

The quietness & view of the valleys are superb! Food is good too and staffs are polite. Some of the facilities are bit old in conditions, including rooms & the onsen.And the amenities are bit limited too.

A simple but lovely place to stay. The hoist to bring the luggage up from the parking area to the rooms is not to be missed! The meals are terrific (and substantial) and the scenery is staggering. Also the outdoor ofuro is fabulous.

Walking distance to Kazura bridge

Staying in the middle of mountains, walking distance to river and Kazura bridge. Perfect place for those who want a piece of silence, onsen and Japanese style of food. They serve nice Japanese style of food with great service for breakfast and dinner. Nothing to complain.

Peaceful and Simple.

The service was friendly and the food was very good. For those with knee or hip problems will find climbing the steps to the eating area and the Onsen area challenging. We had a peaceful stay there.

Rooms were a bit old and the public bath was average, location was quite deep into the valley but close to the main tourist attractions. Dinner was nice and the staff were friendly.

I get very relaxed with my stay, staff are super nice and helpful and do their very best to explain and help (very much appreciated!!)
the dinner and breakfast are amazing, fresh (I love the way they cooked the fish)
cozy and family style run which made me feel like home.
the waterfall and the bridge near by is amazing too
highly recommended and will come back for SURE!!

夜宿祖谷溫泉的絕佳選擇

預訂時抱著忐忑的心情下單了這間僅有13間房間的小旅社，開車前往時因為路狹且還有蔓橋「此處為出口請從另一方向進入」的指示牌來搗亂，讓我們迷路了一會兒才找到這間位於蔓橋之後的仙境。旅社不大且似乎正在緩慢擴建中，但預訂的日式房間景色優美，山景趁著窗口的楓紅讓人一進房心情就好了起來，馬上就忘卻了旅社沒有電梯得自己抬行李上樓的疲累。晚餐的會席料理與早餐都堪稱中規中矩，食材新鮮調味也算清淡；最滿意的是湯屋部份，內外湯都非常優質且清潔！我們家已投票下次春天來此賞櫻時還要再下塌一次！

如對食物有要求，千萬不要來。

如只計算2至3星的溫泉旅館來說，起碼也住過超過50間。此旅館一泊兩食是最差的，用最低廉的食材製作的鄉土料理。晚餐中的刺身是蒟蒻；燒物是平時早餐吃的小燒魚；天婦羅全是素菜，旁邊給你沾鹽食用，可是一件海鮮也沒有，連天婦羅醬汁也懶得做。以2千多的價格來說，性價比很低。

祖谷のかずら橋まで600ｍ。川沿いの遊歩道もあり、ぶらぶら散策できる。スタッフは感じが良い。料理は豪華ではないが、素朴で美味しい。お風呂は温泉ではないが、ミネラル分をたくさん含んだ水なので、お肌がすべすべになるらしい。祖谷の水は飲んでも美味しい。また泊まりたい。

ホテルの場所がかずら橋から近く眺めが素晴らしい。

とてもくつろげました。
忘れ物の対応も親切にして頂き助かりました。温泉の利用時間が決まっている点が残念だったと思います。朝６時に目が覚めて6:30までは入れないで朝食が7:30だったら慌ただしく感じました。

周りにレストランがない。夕方で開いてた店に入ってみたらメニューの物は作れないけどいいかと聞かれ、簡単なものでいいですよと答えたら冷凍食品が出てきた。ここは本当にレストランだったのだろうか....しかも値段は観光地価格。
この宿のご飯は食べてませんが食事のプランは事前に決めていかれた方がいいと思います。

あと、お風呂は良かったです。浴場まで階段が多いので高齢の方と一緒に行くのはキツイかもしれません。

Ganz tolles Ryokan! Am Anfang dachten wir es wäre recht kompliziert ohne Auto dorthin zu kommen. Aber auch hier war das Personal vorab schon sehr hilfsbereit und hat uns Buszeiten geschickt. Mit diesen war es überhaupt kein Problem mehr. Für mich gab es sogar ein vegetarisches Menü (mit Voranmeldung)- ohne Fisch und Fleisch. Toller kleiner hauseigener Onzen. Sehr zu empfehlen!!!

浴場の給湯、1人使用していると他のところはお湯が出なかった。
誰も使用していない隙に急いで使用しました。
階段が多かったですが、運動になり、良かったです。
お部屋の施設は整っていて有り難かったです。

Great onsen hotel with great staff and food

Extremely friendly staff, great food, great onsen, very close to Kazurabashi Bridge 祖谷蔓橋. Highly recommended.

One suggestion to future visitors though, the hotel is located in a pretty secluded location, so it would be wise to arrive the hotel before sundown cause it gets extremely dark when the sun is set, no street lights no nothing on the way to the hotel, and there is nothing nearby, so better arrive at the hotel early to enjoy their facilities.

Highly recommend this good for value accomodation

My husband and I like 祖谷之宿蔓屋酒店 very much! This hostel provides traditional Japanese accommodation, hot spring and dinner. The room is very big and comfortable, we are served with delicious dinner in a private dinning room with good quality food and excellent service. The owner is a super nice Japanese gentleman. We had a peaceful, relaxing and memorable stay there. We strongly recommend tourists who visit Shikuko by car to stay in this hostel.

Hotel liegt 500m von der Kazurabashi Brücke entfernt inmitten der Natur. Unbeidngt Halbpension buchen, weil sonst nichts in der Nähe und das Abendessen ist hervorragendes japanisches Menu.
