The shower in my room was very tiny and there is no way of avoiding getting the bathroom floor wet. Probably why there's a drain in the bathroom floor. The night stand, shelves and suitcase stands look like someone built them from plain wood and put them in the room. No \"real\" furniture except for the very low beds. It'll do if you just need a place to sleep. However the complimentary breakfast was nice enough and they didn't throw you out before you were done eating. Staff were friendly and helpful. I suggest booking through Hotels.com for a better rate. The walk in rate is much more expensive which was unfortunate since we wanted to extend our stay. There is heat and a/c in the rooms.

Very urban location with traffic noise. Booked a superior room, but small, sparse, very basic, no telephone, TV not working. Definitely not superior! These issues were raised, receptionist promised partial refund but manager totally refused any compensation, even through official complaint from Hotels.com. Extremely disappointing. We would definitely not recommend.

This was a fine place to stay. It was a little out of the core area of the city and required some hill climbing or a 6€ cab fare into the old town, and a longer ride to the train station. However, this hotel offered a more competitive room price to make up for the less convenient location.

A great place to stop over in Santarem!

It was a lovely hotel, with dining options close by (check out the restaurant XPTO next door -- delicious and friendly). The hotel breakfast was also really nice. The beds were a little stiff and old, but it didn't bother us. The room was very clean and comfortable.

some improvements needed but overall good

The staff was very helpful, the breakfast was quite diversified and complet, my only dislike is the Windows are not double glass so you hear all noises, the doors have no good insulation so you could listen everything even from other rooms which affected my quality of stay. If this details are improved and the bathroom modernised it has all chances to be a 8+ hotel. Might stay again if needed due to closeness to hospital and due to its budget price.

Nice but not close to the center

Front desk staff were very helpful re restaurants, activities, train schedule. The hotel is not convenient to the historic area of the town, about a half hour walk. It was hard to find initially. Nice room, good service, but not convenient.

Pleasant Stay at Hotel Umu

A cute hotel with everything you need. Within walking distance you can find 3 large supermarkets to buy water, snacks and at Pingo Doce you will find a large lunch selection. The rooms were spacious, and the bed was very comfortable.
Love the little desk area next to the window, you can work and enjoy a nice view outside.
The breakfast was good, with a variety of fresh fruit, cake, juice, eggs and bread. There was something for everyone.
All around we enjoyed our stay at hotel umu.

O pequeno almoco deficiente (as 8h20 de sabado)
O quarto muito \"cansado\" em especial a casa de banho e os colchões. A precisar de grande investimento no quarto.
O quarto nem tem roupeiro.
A classificação é muito próxima das 2*, valendo a receção 24h

El hotel esta bien, hace años que lo visito y me gusta , pero me parece de muy poca clase por no decir otra cosa que cobren la botella de agua grande a 4€. Cuando me iba a dormir pedi una en recepcion y eso me querian cobrar 4 €. Logicamente le dije a las chicas que me parecia un robo y fui a coger la que tenia en mi coche. Creo que es abusivo cobrar esa cantidad por algo que es necesario. El personal muy correcto siempre.

Das Hotel liegt etwas außerhalb vom Zentrum, das hatten wir allerdings im Vorfeld gewusst. Preis-Leistungsverhältnis war gut. Sehr nettes Personal an der Rezeption.

The pictures shown are not updated. You should update your pictures as is not from years ago. This Hotel is old and outdated the beds are old and the mattress are very uncomfortable, the shower is terrible and small with a curtain not as shown on the photo at all , tv doesn’t work the room smells and it was extremely noisy from other rooms you can hear everything in other rooms, no coffee you have to pay for it and it’s terrible cold coffee, I didn’t even have breakfast, In my opinion this place is too expensive for what you getting.

Goed hotel voor onderweg

Kamer was redelijk gedateerd, maar wel schoon. Ontbijt was prima. Personeel erg vriendelijk (vooral bij het ontbijt). Hotel is erg gehorig, maar wel op tijd stil.
