We spent the Labour Day weekend in Napier and had a great time. The location of the hotel is good, and the room was amazing. At first, we thought the room was öld\"and not renovated. but when we saw the room, it was amazing! Big, cosy, and the best thing was, it even had a fireplace! How much more cosy can a room be? It gave the room an amazing fair of a real home. Would we pick the same hotel again? Yes. Would we like to have a different room? Most likely not.

Started with a very warm welcome by Perez, who is the best person you could choose to greet guests. Room spacious with balcony and water view. Large open hanging and storage space, not something we have experienced in hotels before but very good idea, pretty much like our walk in robe at home. Little sink, fridge and hot drink facilities behind a bifold door that lights up when you open, plus plunger coffee, big thumbs up. Another well conceived idea and implementation. Heated towel rack, separate shower and bath, as well as separate toilet across from bathroom, yet again, another well conceived application. Easy stair and lift access to room, restaurant, front of building, reception and undercover car park. Ticks all round. Well done.

We stayed in the studio apartment with a sea view. The room was a great size, with separate armchairs and table.The coffee/tea facilities included a fridge, cafetiere sink, plates etc. The bathroom was awesome a beautiful jacuzzi corner bath and separate shower. The view from our balcony looked straight onto the beach, which was popular with swimmers for their early morning 7am sessions.

Amazing location for getting out to sight see in the Napier area. We rented bicycles and did the trail down to various wineries. The hotel itself definitely met expectations with a great view from our room and a washer and dryer available to use. It came in handy to catch up on our laundry.

Can’t say enough about how much I like this property. I booked one night and ended up staying for two. The staff couldn’t have been nicer and more helpful. I had to transfer rooms - I should have booked the room as soon as I walked into it for the second night - and they above and beyond to make it seamless. I moved rooms at 10 am, their check out time, and left for the day to sight see knowing my refrigerated items were safe and so was my luggage. Can’t wait to come back again! PS most rooms come with a mini kitchen. The second had a dishwasher! I am pretty sure I would never get in here during the summer.

Friendly staff also rang to say we had left a wine cooler bag in the room and would they like us to send it back to Wellington for me ? That’s incredible service. When I left my togs in a room a five star hotel in Auckland said they never ring as it would take up too much of their time.

Everything was great maybe an option for of less amount of money than $200 and an option to choose whether the room comes with beverages or not before placing booking.

The property has a new building and an original one built in 1932. The rooms in the “old” building are advertised as “Heritage Suite”L so by “heritage”, they mean old and tired! . It had two chairs and a table; not exactly a suite. It also had terrible single pane windows, allowing noise in from the street, and an old wooden entry door that required a physical key to lock/unlock. Felt very tired. It wasn’t anywhere near what we expected for almost NZD$400 and the only thing we liked about it was proximity to the beach. Limited restaurants so we ended up driving 2.5 km to get dinner in the downtown core.
Quite disappointing and I wouldn’t recommend it to a friend travelling to Napier.
