Wonderful Stay at Etango Ranch Guesthouse

Etango Ranch was the perfect overnight stay before our flight. The staff were warm and welcoming, the setting peaceful with beautiful savanna views. Our room was spotless, comfortable, and well-appointed.

We loved the fresh, home-cooked meals—especially the early breakfast for travelers. Just minutes from the airport, Etango feels far removed from the usual airport hustle.

Highly recommended for anyone flying in or out of Windhoek!

We stayed here for one night leading up to a flight from Windhoek the next day and absolutely loved it. It's a quaint ranch with cattle and ostriches on the property. The staff was very friendly, helpful & accommodating. Breakfast and dinner was great and reminded us of home cooked meals. It's very quiet and safe. Thank you to all at Etango for the hospitality!

Miss Caroline was friendly and the location was very convenient to the airport. The beds were hard, the frame creaked, and the pillows should have beef thrown away a year ago.
The manager(?) Closed the common area at 8:30 PM. Since there was no WiFi and no TV in our room and the furniture was very uncomfortable, it made for a long evening.

Secluded ranch near airport + great staff!

We stayed at the ranch before our flight due to the proximity to the airport. I wish we could have stayed an extra night at the property to enjoy their nature walk. We arranged airport transport to the airport upon our arrival to the ranch and it was very convenient.

Meals at the ranch were thoughtfully prepared - I’m vegetarian. And my husband enjoyed the meat options as well.

This was an amazing place to stay! I enjoyed the landscape of the facility, the room, and definitely the meals! I highly recommend and will return again in the future. It is also only 5 minutes away from the Hosea Kutako International Airport…very convenient!

One of a kind \"airport\" property and a great first or last experience of the beautiful country of Namibia. Lovely evening sunset and view of nearby hills from the outdoor pool area. Excellent home cooked dinner and a breakfast pack that lasted me the whole of the next day (I left at 4:30am and the host packed my breakfast to go). Moza, the guest host, is wonderful. I highly recommend Etango Ranch for convenience to the airport, and an overall experience.

Perfect Windhoek airport accommodation

We were staying only one night as Etango is the closest accommodation to. Windhoek airport. And we were departing on a flight at 7.45am. The airport is 45 minutes from town and Etango is only 5 minutes away.
We arrived at Etango at 8pm after a tour of Namibia and host Robert looked after us well.
After showing us to our room we went to the dining room and were soon presented with drinks and a delicious meal of oryx steak, vegetables and salad. Even though everyone else had finished their meals.
At 5.30am the next morning Robert drove us to the airport at a cost of N$100 each.

This is a great place to stay!

I often arrive at Hosea Kotaka International airport late or early, and as anyone who has traveled there knows, it is quite a distance from available lodging in Windhoek (40 clicks, or about 25 miles for you Americans), and on this journey my colleague was departing early one morning and my flight was early the next morning. I was very, very pleased with making the choice to stay at Etango! The location is Perfect for airport access. The meals were outstanding, the room was comfortable and clean with fresh smelling linens, there was ample hot water and a large shower, and the host was a true joy, going out of his way to accommodate our odd schedule and meal needs. I will definitely stay here again, and will suggest that others do the same. It is also a very genuine 'local' place to stay. Highly recommend!

Best hotel if you have an early morning flight to the airport or need to be close to the airport. It is a quite game lodge set in the beautiful Namibian bush, yet 5 mins from the airport. It has everything you need, including teatime/snacks at 4:00pm, inclusive dinner at 7:00pm and breakfast included. The airport shuttle is very efficient and they are always on time. Give them a try the next time you need a place near the airport. Nothing fancy, but has everything you need and is quiet.

This property is a perfect option for lodging if you need to be close to the airport. It is very clean and quiet, out in the beautifully namibian Bush. Dinner, breakfast and afternoon tea are included in your cost. They will gladly pick you up and drop off at airport for a small additional fee. Just email that you need to be picked up and your flight details. Rooms were clean and there was great hot water for a shower! Would stay here again, plus it saved an hour both ways into the capital Windhoek.

The service was good and food was good as dinners were included. We stayed two nights and no room cleaning service on the next day. Therefore no emptying of dust bins, no additional toilet paper and drinking water, no checking if we need extra towels. For sure they will provide if we had asked but we thought if basic things were taken care of it will then be perfect.

The facility is an actual cattle ranch that has built a guest facility on it. The staff was so gracious. We got there @ 2 PM. They had Tea for us @ 4 PM. Dinner was included @ 7 PM. Breakfast was also included, but we had an early flight. They even took us to the airport @ 4:30 AM. The charge was N$80 per person. Right now that is $6.50 apiece.

The facility had good Wi-Fi. My only complaint would be that there was in TV in the rooms.

This was a great stay just a few minutes from the airport. Awesome service, front desk manager met us at our cars at night to help us carry our things into the atrium, and was very friendly and welcoming. There is a fee for the shuttle service, and a fee for lunch or late dinner if so decided. The food was great and above expectations! Wifi worked well. We had a late flight out the next day, and we were welcomed to hang out around the grounds past checkout. They have some land to take a walk on, and a peaceful pool area. I would stay here again!

Perfect for an airport layover

Nice little hotel very close to the airport. The room was clean and comfortable and the setting was beautiful. Good strong wifi throughout the property. The food was simple and tasty, but don’t expect gourmet fare. Would highly recommend this little gem if you’re looking for a place to spend the night near the airport.

This hotel is the closest to the airport, but also very expensive. The room was comfortable and clean but the bed could use better quality covers and linen and pillows, as well as towels. The transfers to and from the airport are quite expensive considering the airport is only 5 min away. Service was good. The first night we arrived we were too late for dinner so they said they would keep a hot plate for us, but this only consisted of bread and salad. The next night we stayed the dinner was good. The breakfast packs to go are not very good.

The hosts as active ranchers native to the area were happy to spend time talking about the acacia trees, mushrooms, water issue and ranching and wildlife which you would never get in a hotel. It was very relaxing. The proximity to the airport is also a plus when you are flying in or out.

The lodge is only 1 kilometer from the Airport which is great if you fly in late.
It is however more like an Inn rather than a Hotel.
I suppose the best way to describe it would be a ranch.
We where to late for supper which was included in the price, but I think that the place is to expensive for what you get.
I will rather travel the extra 40Km and stay in Windhoek

Great convenient airport location

Pros: Very convenient location for those with an early flight from Windhoek airport (only a couple minutes away). Excellent customer service. Meals included were a great convenience - since everyone staying there had early flights (before 9am), they packed breakfast for everyone.
Note that dinner is served with all guests staying at the lodge at the same time (two other couples, when we stayed in August). Nice to get to know others; although some may find this inflexible for timing. Food itself was great though.
Cons: Accommodation was clean, but for the price, was not quite as nice as I expected (e.g. older furnishings, finishings). There was not quite enough hot water for a normal shower for either of us (one took it before dinner, one after dinner). Transfer to the airport wasn't included and cost an extra eighty rand per person.

Overall, a convenient place to stay.

Warm and considerate hosting from all the staff. This lodge is ideally situated for access to airport - late flights in and early flights out. Location is outstanding as is the service. We had to leave before breakfast, and were given a packed breakfast without even requesting one. Tea/coffee facilities in the room.

Kind of expected a cheap and dirty motel style accommodation but not at all. The welcome is warm, the situation is great and the rooms clean and well set out. Food was good too. We only stayed for one night as we were only passing through via Windhoek airport but I would have happily stayed there longer.

Relaxing place near the airport

We stayed for one night after arriving by air. The hotel is very close to the airport (though not top noisy due to the limited number of flights into/out of WDH) and yet already feels 'farm-like' as so often in Namibia. The hosts were very nice, the food (dinner and breakfast) very very good and the rooms nice. Definitely recommendable for a stay of 1 or a few nights when arriving into or leaving Windhoek.

Conveniently located close to the International airport of Windhoek (3km away) Farm like atmosphere, peaceful next to the pool watching the magnificent Namibian sun set. Very personal service by owner who speaks several languages. Fire pit contributes to the rural setting. Rooms were comfortable, clean and spacious. Dinner was a set menu with all of the guests eating at the same time around one big table. Very enjoyable stay.

Great Authentic Namibian Experience

Perfect choice for combining the chance to experience some authentic Namibian culture with a location convenient to the airport. The ranch is just far enough off the main road across from the airport to experience the sounds of the desert birds and see the stars only a desert sky can reveal. The room rate included BOTH breakfast AND dinner, which is necessary since there are no restaurants anywhere nearby. What added to the experience was the zebra steak dinner with the property manager and the great conversation about Namibian culture. Note that I informed the management that the room description and confirmation states the room is \"shared, dormitory style\". This was disconcerting to me since I was a solo travel and did not expect to sleep in a room with a stranger. This is a mistake and the management assured me I would have my own room...and I did.

We were picked up from the airport and it took five minutes to be sitting drinking coffee in the garden. The staff were very friendly and really looked after us following the long flight(s) to Namibia. We had an excellent meal the highlight of which was their own beef. The rooms were basic, clean and large.

Absolut empfehlenswert - alle Mitarbeiter sind sehr, sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.
Das Essen ist ausgezeichnet - Frühstück, Mittag, Kaffe und Kuchen, Abendessen.
Sehr gemütliche Terrasse und Garten mit kleinem Pool und toller Blick auf den Sonnenuntergang. Ein Wasserloch auf der Ranch das man bequem in 20min zu Fuß erreichen kann und an dem wir eine kleine Herde wilder Zebras getroffen haben.
Die Ranch liegt genau an der Einfahrt zum Flughafen, von dem man hier aber gar nichts hört.
Es lohnt sich hier ein paar Tage mehr in Ruhe zu verbringen und nicht nur die Nacht vor dem Abflug. Ausserdem lässt sich von hier ein Tagesausflug nach Windhuk oder zu einer Tiersafari in der Nähe entspannt durchführen.

Super Ort, um die Nacht vor dem Weiterflug zu verbringen.
Herzlicher Empfang. Alles war vorbereitet. Einrichtung ist relativ einfach, aber es ist alles da, was man braucht und es funktioniert auch. Wurde mit einem super Abendessen empfangen (im Preis inbegriffen).

Wir haben einen superfreundlichen Gastgeber vorgefunden und es wieder mal sehr genossen hier zu übernachten Vogelgezwitscher Sternenhimmel und das afrikanische Licht hat uns wieder mal begeistert . sehr zu empfehlen! !!

En arrivant le gérant nous a indiqué notre chambre. La porte vitrée sur la terrace était ouverte. Il nous a dit que ils ne se servaient pas de clés. Résultat j'ai trouvé un scorpion dans la chambre. Nous sommes parti trop tôt le matin pour en faire partie au gérant.
