Secluded oasis of peace and calm. Oozing with character. V well maintained. Ideally need rental car to fully appreciated the area. Plenty of local restaurant choices 10 mins drive. 25 mins to Taormina. Nice room (junior suite), plenty of space. Bit quirky re electrical points location. Soundproofing not 100% but was never a problem. Excellent bathroom. Breakfast average. Staff professional and attentive.

The food from the restaurant wasn't to our liking, however this didn't affect our stay. I would recommend having a car to explore as there is nothing much within walking distance, however the hotel is so beautiful you may not want to go anywhere else!

Absolutely charming - the perfect combination of modern resort amenities with old world ambience and sophistication. Only thing I would change is the menu at the restaurant. Our room was very dated and dark windows were dirty and no internet connection in room. Feel the hotel could do with updating and disappointing not to have daily water in room. My wife’s Amberjack fish was overcooked and inedible there was no offer of a reduction in the total cost. Staff however were excellent just feel for a 4 star hotel the accommodation could be improved.

Loved the property. But gaining entrance was problematic. The front gate/entryway is pedestrian only which we did not know beforehand. And that's where Google maps dumps you. You need to go to the parking lot (parcheggio) down the road from the main entrance and be buzzed in to the lot by the front desk. But no one tells you that. And the sign for the lot is small. So beware.

What a treat to be able to spend a few nights in this beautiful oasis. The minute we arrived. Marco greeted us and The lovely ladies at the desk were welcoming friendly, helpful, professional. Every inch of the property was beautifully maintained and gave us a great sense of being in historic Sicily feeling like royalty . The restaurant which we ate at two nights was a surprise ,Michelin star food, cleverly and tastefully each course was delicious. Wine list was full of beautiful Sicilian wines and a showstopper was having a very special cocktail made right at our table. I have had the good fortune from working so hard my life to stay at many four and five star hotels around the world and this will not disappoint . Our room was so comfortable, tastefully decorated & beautiful I didn’t want to leave the room . The beach was just steps away, and we swam in the beautiful Ionian Sea , the hotel is a destination, (we did go winetasting during the day at Benanti an excellent tour and tasting) hotel definitely worth a stay if you need to relax and want to be pampered -oh, and the swimming pool was magnificent along with serving cocktails and food poolside.

A Romantic getaway in a Magical Castle
We had a wonderful and unique stay at this renewed castle, converted to a boutique, high standard hotel. Beautiful and classy garden for breakfast included and luxurious dinner if booked. Amazing large pool overlooking the beach. An easy, 20 minute drive from Taormina. One point had to be taken off, sadly, due to the queen bed mattress which felt small and a bit squeeky and not perfect maintenance of bathroom. Other than that - truly a magical experience reflecting the vibe of romantic Sicily.

The bar was very nice but the SPA did not look very appealing with a large white chair lef at the entrance for no obvious reason. The front desk staff were very friendly, and the restaurant staff we very nice, too.

Hotel and grounds are beautiful, service was wonderful. It’s far from Taormina - transport is very expensive and can be delayed in the busy summer.
Lighting in the room lounge area was subdued, and little things like bathroom and tea supplies were not replenished. It should be possible to have a fresh towel at the beach and pool if needed. These are little details but prevented a 5 star rating for this 5 star hotel.

we really enjoyed our stay in this superbly renovated castle. World class accommodation in a spacious room, exceptional swimming pool. The restaurant Giardino di Pietra has to be tried for a gourmet dinner while the Wine Bar Il Palmento can not be missed.

Nice place with friendly stuff. Very picturesque. Far from anywhere, so car is a must. Breakfast could be better, no cheese or meat cuts served (in Sicily!!). As we were there, they continued repairs they could not complete off season. I would recommend.

We loved that the Castello San Marco was a little bit away from the main city of Taormina. The grounds are beautiful, (many weddings take place there, you could tell it would be a beautiful setting) the rooms very nice, clean and comfortable, and great amenities like a pool, restaurant and wine bar. We dined at the restaurant and it was one of our favorite meals of our trip to Sicily. It was also very child friendly, the staff was very accommodating for us and our daughter. I would love to stay again some day in the future.

We were amazed with this hotel. The room was big with separate bedroom. The grounds were massive with little gardens everywhere. Big pool. Wonderful spa. The massage therapist was very good. Very good restaurant with high quality food. Just outside the gate was the beach with a wonderful little restaurant with pizza and other Italian dishes at good price. Parking was secure. We can't say enough good about the hotel and staff. Will go back.

Lovely castle in beautiful grounds, the room was large and spacious. Breakfast was lovely and all the staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel offers pretty much all you can ask for and if you didn't want to leave the grounds you could easily relax here for the duration of your stay.

Bungalow rooms set in a lush, green garden, with a lovely pool (with its own outdoor restaurant), and a short walk to a long, stony beach with magnificent views of Etna. The staff were incredibly sweet, and seemed to really want us to have a good time. In October, it was quiet and peaceful, although the hotel was full. The breakfast was lavish, and the two meals we had - in the pool restaurant and the main restaurant - very good, with interesting local dishes and produce from the hotel's own garden.

I had the most amazing stay and couldn't fault a thing! The food and wine selection is one of the best I've had in the restaurant and absolutely loved the surrounded gardens and swimming pool. The service at the bar and restaurant was just superb. I wished I could stay longer and enjoy so much more of this unique stay. I would recommend renting a car if you are staying at the hotel as it is set in a remote location with Taormino centre being a 10-15min drive. The grounds and swimming pool was kept clean and although the pool was heated we still enjoyed it. I would definitely be coming back here to celebrate a special occasion and on the weekend we were there, there was a beautiful wedding taking place which made me want to be married here in the near future! :)

lovely pool and gardens. Very nice staff. Dining room a bit gloomy and dark..no windows really which is a shame when lovely and sunny outside. Dinner quite good but on the expensive side. Bedrooms a long way and again rather gloomy as all dark brown furniture and furnishings

One of the best holidays ever. Friendly and very helpful staff. Secluded and peaceful rooms. Fab pool lovely food and close to toarmina, mt etna, the gorge and so much more. Wake up to bird song and sunshine, enjoy a sumptuous breakfast in gorgeous surroundings, walk in the perfectly manicured gardens and take a dip in the perfectly chilled pool. I got this hotel as part of a package deal to Sicily. It was amazing! It was better than I expected. We had reserved a standard room but were given a free upgrade to a junior suite. It had a bedroom and a living room with a mini bar and a kettle and a selection of teabags. Very nice bathroom with shower. A very comfortable bed. An Eden of a garden! Heavenly scents of lemon tree flowers... Rabbits in the garden. Beautiful pool. Free wi-fi area.
You need a car to drive around the hotel. But you need a car in Sicily period. Nothing much in the immediate vicinity of the hotel but Taormina is like 8 km away and dont forget Castelmola! Would definitely recommend.

Wunderbar zum entspannen und einfach mal die Seele baumeln zu lassen. Ein bisschen schickere Kleidung sollte man eventuell einpacken. Das Restaurant im Hotel ist eher im Fine Dining Bereich einzuordnen. Für richtig gute Pizza gibt es eine Minute zu Fuß entfernt, eine wirklich gute Pizza. Ein Auto ist auf jedenfall zu empfehlen.

A very nice hotel for a quiet and relaxing stay, especially if you have a car since it’s located outside the city. The location between Catania and Taormina was perfect for day trips, and the free parking was a big advantage compared to many hotels in Taormina.

Nous avons apprécié le cadre exceptionnel de l'établissement très haut de gamme et sa proximité avec la plage. La piscine est exceptionnelle tout comme le bar avec les créations de Rosario sans doute un des meilleurs barman au monde. La suite 102 nous a scotchés, un cocon de rêve. Les photos officielles ne donnent pas la vraie impression, nous nous attendions à un simple établissement alors qu'il s'agit vraiment d'un lieu incroyable. Et le petit déjeuner n'est pas en reste , une adresse que nous n'oublierons pas, c'est un souvenir très fort et nous sommes heureux de l'avoir vécu.
