The lady behind the desk shameka first second she heard its my birthday she sneak on us went to get me the most delicious chocolate cake we were just arrived i would say that was the most beautiful thing happened because the management apparently they didnt pay attention for that then we got karmal the young sweet gentleman who always provides us with any information we need the staff is the one who make this resort worth it they are super sweet and nice they pay attention for little details i hope they all get paid good and enough they really work from the heart not force the smile the resort is clean and quiet the room view said was ocean i would say we barley can see it not worth the price we paid so after all only the staff was worth it to be there

We stayed for 5 days, it was breathtakingly beautiful, the villas are spacious and gorgeously decorated. The staff (literally everyone ) was beyond kind ! Paul specifically was such a welcoming staff member and had such a good energy!! Thank you thank you thank you !! 🙏
We will 1000000% be coming back and I HIGHLY recommend. The food also is honestly pretty delish!! It was expensive but shouldn’t be a surprise if you do your travel research (the island generally has expensive food a average meal for 2 is about MIN 60$ starting ) however it was all fresh and very tasty. If you’re a hummus fan I recommend that cause it’s mouthwateringly good !!

Our villa was excellent. The power went out one night after a short rain. Power was restored within an hour. Our last day there, they had to shut off the water twice to the property for repairs and restored after three hours.

The room was great. Very service-minded staff that would assist with everything incl rental car or issues. We blew out a tire on the rental car, and the hotel staff helped assisting getting a new one. Top notch. The food on the island is overpriced (being an island) and not that great compared to Grand Bahama or Nassau. But everything else was better.

The staff was VERY nice and friendly. There were very limited dining options, and the dinning was almost offensively over-priced. It wouldn't have been that bad except that there are really not many choices to go and eat. This is not a resort, but rather it is more like an air bnb community. I probably would not stay there again, and not that it was bad, but it just wasn't where I would want to revisit when going to Exuma. There was not much to do within the compound.

This is the secret jewel of our trip. I’ll never go back to Atlantis, but I will definitely be back to the Exumas. Grand Isle staff are friendly and attentive. We stayed in a 3 bedroom villa and it was perfect. IT perfectly compliments the beauty of the Great Exuma island.

amazing.......greatest place. Do not rent a house here.....just because if you are not used to this island, getting around, getting groceries, even gas is hard. After a flat tire because the roads are so bad and remember you are driving on the other side of the road, this is your one stop shop. And you don't have to deal with VRBO owners who think they are the \"wisdom council\" here on the island. And that they own the beaches and ocean. They don't. For the same price, you get clean towels, food, clean bathrooms, no bugs anywhere, big pool....rather than a tiny or no pool. You can swim at night. Lights in pool. So when you get out of the airport go left, not right. Trust me.

The Grand Isle has made our list of places to definitely return too. The staff, food, cocktails, spa, and beach were fantastic. It was nice to have the option of a golf cart to drive around the property which includes a marina.

No place is perfect. A few draw backs we experienced were our bed needs to be updated and the power goes out almost daily. We ended up purchasing 2 battery powered fans which was helpful.

We absolutely loved this resort. Our 1 bedroom ocean view villa was spacious, very comfortable and had everything we needed. We especially enjoyed eating breakfast out on the lanai. We ate at 2 of the 3 restaurants multiple times and they were excellent. The gym is top notch. It has alot of equipment and is very well maintained. We enjoyed motoring around the resort on our golf cart and hanging at the adults only pool. We’ve done a number of trips to the Caribbean and this is, by far, our new favorite!

The suite was spacious, clean and comfortable. The AC was excellent and parking was convenient. Staff was friendly and helpful. The two pools were clean with plenty of chairs. The beach was beautiful and clean as well. The restaurant food was good...especially the pizza and burger. You may or may not get used to some flies visiting outdoor eaters. This happened at other outdoor restaurants on the island as well. Overall, we would return here to enjoy what Exuma has to offer.

The check-in process is wonderful. Everyone is, especially the waitress at the 23 North (Hilton) restaurant. She's fabulous and professional. She made us feel good. The barbecue guys are also nice and very kind to us. And most importantly, the room was very clean 💯% and the girl was very nice. I love that place. Thank you for treating us so well. ♥️

My wife and I stayed 4 nights M-Th. The property is a large gated Villa community and our One Bedroom suite was very spacious. The property was extremely clean and staff was friendly and accommodating. The Palapa restaurant was the only dining option on Monday and Tuesday as the Jerk Hut and 23 North are only open starting Wednesday. We rented a golf cart for $30 per day to assist with getting around the community and was well worth it. We spent the majority of the days on the beach and chairs/umbrellas are set up daily along with clean towels. The service was nice at the restaurant yet a bit on the slower side which we did not mind. The closest convenience store is a 7 min drive and a larger grocery store is about 10-15 taxi drive. If you want food/items delivered to you; you can request the items 72 hours before arrival. We truly enjoyed our stay and will definitely return.

Looks Like a Resort, Feels Like a Letdown

We chose Grand Isle Resort for our first trip to Exuma, expecting the convenience of a hotel—onsite dining, a gym, and some flexibility—but it fell short. The villa was spacious, though the promised “ocean view” was just a distant sliver. The gym was small with outdated equipment, but usable. Palapa, the poolside restaurant, offered bland, repetitive menus; conch fritters were doughy, and the Bahamian snapper was mostly bones and oddly deep-fried. The mahi sandwich was the only standout.

23° North was a birthday dinner disappointment. The steak was unevenly cut and inconsistently cooked, the grouper was just okay, and despite noting the occasion, we had to ask for a candle. Service throughout the resort was strong—unfortunately, the food didn’t match.

One major letdown was the resort’s rigid 11am checkout. Unlike most hotels, they refused any extension. Worse, “bag storage” meant leaving luggage in plain sight by the front desk—completely unsecured. For a resort, this felt surprisingly unaccommodating.

Also worth noting: the atmosphere leaned heavily family-oriented, with kids everywhere—not ideal for couples seeking a quieter stay.

Next time, we’ll choose one of the many oceanfront private villa rentals. At least expectations there are clearer—and often better met.

Very beautiful! The only thing lacking was the service at the Palapa restaurant. It was so slow I thought they may be getting the food off site? Most of the waitresses had no sense of urgency at all. Even with that restaurant being below par, we would still come back and just be prepared with more groceries. It was very relaxing.

Very well appointed large suites with terraces and fully equipped kitchens. Gorgeous mile-long beach with turqoise waters. Friendly staff. Good fitness room 24/7. The Greg Norman golf course which had been advertised was unfortunately closed!!! Will reopen when owners of neighbouring Sandals hotel will have renovated property, a few years down the road? Only weakness is Palapa (main) restaurant, with limited menu and insufficient choices for breakfast, including tiny choice of fruit, yoghurt and cereals and no possibility of ordering eggs separately. 23° restaurant is good and relatively high end but only open for dinner a few days per week. I would advise renting a car to be able to move around large island, drive to town to shop (about 15 kms) and eat out for variety. A day boat trip to the extraordinary beaches of Stocking Island is a must! Overall, a great vacation.

Grand Isle is a nice quiet resort. The condos are nice, but definitely need some repair and upgrades in certain areas. The staff was friendly, good housekeeping. Restaurant service was quite slow. We were disappointed as the golf course right beside was closed during our stay, and that was one of the main reasons we booked this place. All in all, we would visit again, as long as the golf course is open.

After waiting for 30 minutes, despite the restaurant being half empty, she finally started taking our order but deliberately skipped one of us, even if he ordered, leaving them without dinner.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom unit and it was pleasant. We never figured out how to use the vent on the stove and the shower in the master bathroom broke and wouldn’t go off on the second to last day. We reported this to maintenance but they were unable to fix it. So; cold showers for us! There did not seem to be a whole lot to do or see at the property and we were not counseled on activities or excursions. We spoke to Freeman (the fitness instructor) who told us about a tour company and we booked a tour the second to last day (it was very windy and rainy so this was the first opportunity we had to do something like this). We enjoyed the tour very much. We found the staff at the resort pleasant but not over friendly. The beach in front of the resort was not cleaned up (debris) until someone in our party complained. I would not return.

The house is beautiful, with a large living area and a nice view. The kitchen has everything you need for cooking, modern appliances, water fountain…etc. We enjoyed canoeing around (there are 12 canoes accessible right down the house), nice swimming pool and well designed external showers. The bedrooms are confortable. There’s enough space to park several cars in front of the house.
Adding to the perfectly designed house, John is a very nice host, very responsive to our needs and sharing useful tips. It’s a 5 stars rental !

My wife and I vacationed at Grand Isle Resort
and Residences in August of 2024. The
one-bedroom villa was nicely appointed and
was roomy. The full kitchen included all the the
utensils and tools needed to cook meals. There
were large windows in the living room and
bedrooms that allowed plentiful natural light.
The bedroom was large and the bed was really
comfortable. The bathroom was large as well
with a large jetted tub, double vanity and a tile
and glass shower. There was ample closet
space and a washer and dryer. The on-site
restaurant (Palapa) had good food and the
service was good as wel. The beach was really
nice with white sand and turquoise/blue water.
We enjoyed our 5 night stay and would return if
we were to visit Exuma again.

Truly blown away by how fantastic this place is for couples and families. All villas, not hotel. Excellent finishes on the villas: marble, wood, high end all the way. The two pools are both great, either for families or singles. The beach is white sand and the water turquoise. We ate at 23 North and Palapa. Great service, well done and ample food. This really is five star and I am a tough grader.

Although we encountered an issue during check in, Ceyon, who is one of the front desk staff was extremely courteous and did his best to assist us. The acting front desk manager, Alicia, was not helpful and made us feel as though we weren’t justified with our issues or that whatever she offered was enough to pacify the issue with the hotel room that we encountered. We ended up seeing the property manager, Mr. Joe, who was very apologetic and saw to it that we enjoyed our stay.

The property itself is really nice. The issue is with the lack of restaurants and the times they are open. If I were to come again I would definitely rent a car to be able to get offsite. It is somewhat remote from everything else and any taxi you take seems to be $40-$50. The units do have kitchens so I would plan to bring food or hot one of the local stores. I booked 7 days and we left early after 5 days. Beautiful location and beach, not much to offer beyond that.

Unless you have an Ocean Front you really won’t get much of a sea view more the property facing you!
Palapa grill was pretty disappointing for breakfast and dinner but the 23 North restaurant was well worth the money and we ate there twice.

Great job with the design of 23North, the pool and lounge areas are perfect. The grounds are well maintained, our room was massive and immaculate. The only drawback was the service. It was below average in all of our experiences. Room phones didn't work. Got breakfast to go, got back to the room, no syrup for pancakes, no sugar for coffee. Sandy Toes didn't even open on the days they were supposed to.

Grand Isle was beautiful resort. The property was well maintained and the room was clean. But We were not happy. First ,we booked one bed room ocean view villa. It was ocean view but back side of the ocean view with the marina. I was assuming the front side of Emerald bay view for one bed room ocean view room. Very misleading. Second, the king bed was old and very uncomfortable to sleep. Hampton inns have better beds. Third, the shower pressure was so week. For over $1,000 a night, it’s not worth to stay.

WOW! What an amazing vacation experience that well exceeded our expectations! The trip started out wonderful as we were upgraded to a beautiful 2 bedroom 2 floor suite with a water view. Everyone at the resort was so nice and friendly. The food was also really good! Breakfast and lunch at Palapa was great. Dinner at 23 North was so good we ended up eating there for 3 nights! The beach was really lovely and the water was so serene. I have to say that this was a truly unforgettable vacation. We loved the property and the grounds were beautiful. We liked the spacious beach and the \"Adults only\" pool. Too bad the peace was a bit disturbed by noisy Bachelorettes and Girls' Trip groups.
The one-bedroom villa accommodation was certainly large enough for two people.

The Grande Isle resort was so relaxing. Both our accommodations and the resort itself were well appointed. The beach is large and the chairs / towels / staff are great. Two pools to enjoy along with easy dining and bars made our days fun and relaxing. Highly recommend the spa (ask for Shelly!), golf, and going off resort to enjoy all that Exuma has to offer. I’d also suggest renting a car for ease.

It was an awesome villa and the view was beautiful. The property was nice and alot of amenities. Easy parking.

Very nice resort . Big island with a lot of beautiful beaches .. rent a car go explore lots more to see then just the resort . Blu on the water restaurant off property with amazing views .

The property was beautiful and the staff were both friendly and helpful. We ended up getting upgraded to a three bedroom villa - a little overkill for just the two of us, but was amazing nonetheless! We highly recommend dinner at 23° North - it was the best food we ate over the course of the entire vacation! Sherry, the concierge, helped to set up a tour with Exuma Water Sports, which I also highly recommend.

FIRST TIME HERE. THIS IS A WONDERFUL RESORT. GROUNDS ARE IMMACULATE. THE BEACH IS AS GREAT AS ALL THE OTHERS ON THE ISLAND. THE VILLA WE STAYED IN WAS SPACIOUS WITH ALL FIRST CLASS AMENITIES AND SPOTLESS. BEST OF ALL WERE THE MANY STAFF PERSONNEL ALWAYS THERE TO MAKE SURE YOU HAD EVERYTHING YOU NEED. VERT VERY FRIENDLY AND VERY PROFESSIONAL. FINALLY THE RESTAURANTS WERE ALSO VERY GOOD.

This place is really good and I would like to return, for sure. I would just suggest that they change their gas golf carts for electric golf carts, not only because of the environment, but specially for reducing the noise inside the property. Also, they didn't have expresso, capuccino, latte, neither of these, because one day the coffee machine was broken and the other they run out of pods. And mainly, I would suggest that they do not use the lawn mowers so early in the morning, because their noise woke me up every day! But overall, it is a great place and just need some adjustments.

After coming to this property, I plan to come at least once a year an i truly feel that a stay anywhere else would sway how i felt about the island. When I say the staff was friendly, I mean it ! Mccalum, and Melizza were absolute stars. The beach was beautiful. It’s about 25 minutes from George Town so if you don’t want to deal with city life and the aggressive city folk selling things it’s a perfect location.
