This is probably the best hotel to stay in La Paz if you are a tourist. It's close to markets, restaurants and cafes. The banks, cambios and tour agencies are also nearby. The hotel is also the main pick-up and drop-off point for the daily tours. The hotel is clean and well maintained.

We were not impressed at all by this hotel. We booked a Deluxe Room with a Queen bed. Our room was so small and right beside the elevator, actually it was built right into our room. Our window looked out to a brick wall. The shower had mold in it and only warm water. Glad we are only here for one night. Go somewhere else!

What stood out were the great attentions of the servers at the Restaurant Tambo. They were very accommodating and caring. On the other hand, the restaurant supervisor was very rude and disconsidered.
On the other hand, the hotel crew not only need good customer service lessons but retraining on their own specific areas. The did a major mistake with my reservation. However, Cecilia, the hotel owner came to the rescue, MY RESCUE! She was ultra professional, caring, nice, compassionate, sweet and understanding. Only until she intervened it was when everything was resolved. I really hope the staff follows her example. Thanks so much Cecilia, you are a super star, a true leader.
I really hope things get better because it’s a great hotel with an excellent location.

We had a lovely time there! However there are no heaters in the rooms so you will be a bit cold. Also there is a window at the top of the door that lets the light in from the hall 24/7. Extremely warm and helpful staff.

On check in we were given a standard room the bathroom looked so old and it was right by the lift went back to reception and after insisting we get the deluxe room we booked I can tell you it was not much better.
The shower was cold, the blankets they use are thick but so scratchy. There is also so much noise from other inconsiderate guests .
The location and breakfast were the only good things for us.

Hotel gave me early check in when I arrived 7am. They made taxi reservation for my ealy flight.
Hotel locates on safe area and close to San Francisco church. You can walk to museums or Mi Teleferico stations.
The cafe is good for lunch. Chicken soup at the restaurant was very salty.

El hotel es bonito y tiene muy buena ubicación, pero es muy ruidoso, las paredes son delgadas y se escucha todo, cada vez que alguien cerraba alguna puerta o los pasos afuera, además estaban en remodelación y todo el día habían sonidos de construcción. El desayuno y la atención están bien. Por el uso de la aplicación tengo acceso a ciertos beneficios, cuando lo informé en recepción parecían no saber nada al respecto y no aplicaron ninguno, incluso el late check out que solicitamos por solo 30 minutos, tenían disponibilidad, pero debíamos pagarlo, si no respetan estos beneficios no deberían estar en la lista de VIP access.

el baño no estaba completamente limpio, el basurero del baño especificamente, las toallas estaban rotas y descoloridas, limpias pero se notaba q tienen mucho tiempo de uso, las almohadas eran de baja calidad.
A las 11pm del 12/9/23, empezaron a arreglar parte del primer piso con golpes fuertes y obviamente nos depertaron.

I liked how centrally located this hotel is, and how close it is to places like the Witches Market and Plaza San Francisco.

The front desk staff were really friendly and helpful, as were the travel agents who were available.

The breakfast scene I found to be confusing. It was hard to know whether everything that was out was all that was available or if more was on the way. Staff continually were going in and out from the lobby, through the part where we were eating, to the kitchen. I felt like it was hit or miss in terms of what was available, just depending on when you happen to arrive. The staff were friendly, though.

Clean hotel in a very convenient location. The staff was accommodating in every way. We used Hotel Sagarnaga as a base while traveling Bolivia. They allowed us to leave several bags in between stays. They also allowed us to make last minute reservations when making plans to travel around the country. 5 stars for hotel condition, WiFi, location and customer service.

Beware of the 2 twin bed rooms: one bed blocks opening the closet and it can't be moved.
The 24 hour check-in is a joke: at nine am the told me to come back at noon. Thentheroom they gave me hadn't been cleaned yet ... another 15 minute wait on a couch next to the elevator.
BUT plenty of hot water & blankets when I got the room!

Great hotel. Very early check in (5am) was a breeze. Freandly and helpful English speaking stuff. Best aria of the city with an easy walking to everything. I stayed there total for 10 days exploring Bolivia and had a great time.

Cheap and great location

The location for this hotel was great. While it had a very nice lobby, it was a budget hotel. I stayed in a single private room and it was quite small. I didn't mind except that the bathroom door was difficult to close since the bathroom was very small. The restaurant was nice and had several Bolivian dishes, but the credit card machine wasn't working. They had an ATM right outside. Continental breakfast in the morning was included, in the hotel restaurant and had different kinds of bread, yogurt, cereal, cold cuts, cheese and juice.

Lovely staff, every person from the cleaners to the front desk were kind and welcoming. Initially I was disappointed not having a room with a view and the staff asked if I wanted to change room which was nice. Hot showers throughout the day and night. Room was cleaned each day and fresh towels given. I ate in the restaurant a few times and it was nice. Fantastic location close to the witches market and tour agencies which do hotel pick up and drop off. WiFi was temperamental but wasn't a big issue. Thank you for a nice stay.

I arrived to the hotel at 545am off an overnight from Uyuni. The hotel allowed me to check in early so I was able to immediately go back to bed instead of having to wait several hours for my room. This was a very appreciated gesture.

The room is a bit small and not particularly warm but it was comfortable and clean and well worth the price. If you're a light sleeper be warned the walls are thin. I could hear every word said out in the hallway, though I was next to the elevator so it may have been excessive.

Friendly helpful staff and a great tour agency in the lobby which helped with my transfer to Copacabana (bus will pickup up right at hotel)

Hotel had a lot of groups staying there who j meant breakfast was crowded and lacking in seating but there's great coffee shop right next door(Cafe de Monde) who h served the best coffee in Bolivia.

Perfect neighbourhood for sightseeing and amazing market shopping!

You get what you pay for. This is a budget hotel and that is reflected in the price. If you are looking for fireworks look somewhere else.

Having said that though for that price I think it's a fantastic deal. Location is superb. Downstairs lobby and restaurant are fine. The rooms and corridors do need TLC but they work. It's a perfect place to stay for a couple of nights.

hot water too yellowish and sandy. on our last day, i asked for a wake up call at 1:30 am. they never wake us up! the man on duty was snoring hard when we went down to the lobby. we would have missed our flight if i didnt get up for the toilet. what was the point of wake up call when the man responsible to wake us up is fast asleep? Go somewhere else! I am a travel agent and i know what good service is. i also wanted to mention that the night shift staff was good at answering back instead of apologizing for causing our delay

Good budget hotel

The hotel is located in the heart of the backpacker's area and was conveniently located near the Witches Market. There were money changers nearby, and the financial district was just a short 5-minute walk from the hotel.

We arrived and departed in the early hours of the morning, and while the hotel doesn't have an \"on-duty\" staff member available in the middle of the night, there are staff who sleep in the lobby, and was able to let us in and out during those times. There is a doorbell on the left of the entrance if one arrives to the hotel late in the evening. We were very appreciative of the staff for letting us in and out.

The wi-fi was good in our room although we heard from other guests that the strength was variable throughout the hotel. As such, I would recommend asking for a room with good wifi if that's something that is needed during the stay.

Rooms were generally more spacious than imagined. It's not comparable to a suite from an American hotel, but for the price, it was more than adequate.

The breakfast buffet was simple, but good. There were simple breads plus some meat and cheese to make a sandwich. A small selection of juices was also available. Other items were available at additional costs. However, what was provided free of charge was good to start the day.

Overall, the hotel was good value for money and was located conveniently adjacent to some popular tourist attractions. A good hotel in La Paz that I would recommend to others

This hotel is located right at the city center with a very decent cafe next door which do delivery. However, the hotel itself is in pretty bad shape. The shower is small which I hit myself on the door every time. There are flies when we enter the room. The staff are very nice and attentive though.

The best thing about my stay at this hotel has got to be the view of La Paz that I got from the large bedroom window; this was exactly what made me book this hotel after looking at the pictures. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was rather shabby, but compared to everywhere else I stayed in Bolivia it was the best. The breakfast was very disappointing; there is however an excellent place for breakfast (and all other meals) at a reasonable price next door at Cafe del Mundo. I would not recommend booking tours via the tour company joined to the hotel after a bad experience (that had to be resolved after the trip by the hotel manager).

Not a great town. Not a great hotel. Just here to sleep. But they got elevator that's a plus. The walls are thin so it gets very noisy. Wifi was bad, can't even connect for the entire stay. The outlet next to the bed was not even charging at a normal rate... phone battery keeps going down if you use it while charging. It charges at a rate of 5-8% per hour. Some sort of construction nearby during the day so you can hear a lot of drilling and banging. Staff was average, this one guy helped us with luggage but whe we arrived to the room he wouldn't wanna leave, started checking the lights and phone and the bed, kinda like hinting you to tip him, which was the only one in my whole trip. And later we found out the phone doesn't even work so... you go figure. Lots of tour agency around hotel.

The staff is very helpfull and are willing to make your stay confortable. However, the water is no so warm and the rooms get really cold at night because there is no heating in the room and the electric heater they provide us was barely producing any heat :(
Other than that, the breakfast is good, it's clean, there is an elevator (thanks god, at that altitude, lol).

Bed bugs!

I saw bed bugs at this hotel. I didn't know those were bed bugs because I had not seen them before in my life. I thought they were cockroaches!!!!! I had bed bug bites and my whole body was itchy. I knew that this hotel was not super clean but didn't expect bed bugs! I wish I could have told them about it and get my money back!!!! So bad!!!!!!

The proximity to many interesting sights and especially price made this hotel a great choice. The beds were comfortable and room clean. It is a basic hotel and the age and simplicity of it gives it a lot of character. The staff is very helpful and manager speaks great English and has a good knowlege of the area.. We left very early and missed the delicious breakfast included in the price. WiFi was acceptable and made us of the laudramat 1 min away.
