This property was very nice, very unique. We got “home 3” and It included a kitchenette with everything you needed to use it.
It was near excitement and landmarks. However, this closeness was too much for us because it was noisy. There was an alley on one side that got very noisy from people partying past 1:30am.

The problem with this property was that some of the units are subterranean with a view of a brick wall not much natural light. In addition, getting a parking space was like winning the lottery. Hold on you might win the lottery quicker than you could find one of the four parking spaces available.

Arrived a little earlier than check in and was given our keys early which was great as well as an upgrade. Room was well spaced, good amenities and bathroom was big.
Bed and pillows were very comfy and had a great nights sleep throughout our stay.
Water pressure was strong and hot water without any issues.
The room does run hot which we didn’t mind but might be worth considering.
Overall would definitely recommend and would stay there again.

The location of the property was excellent for exploring downtown Rekyevik. The apartment was a spacious one bedroom that included a kitchen which was great for cooking breakfast and storing drinks & leftovers. The property is close to 2 bus stop locations that are pick-ups for daily tours and only a 17 minute walk to the BSI bus terminal that offers transfers to KEF and REK airports. Also great that the apartments are across the street to the hotel so I was able to store my luggage on first day of arrival until check-in.

We had an amazing 2 night stay at the Apt . Arthur and Jerry from reception were amazing ! They assisted us with room upgrade and made sure that we are happy with our stay. The location is very close to everything ( rainbow road,Hallgrimskirkja, sun voyager, shopping for souvenirs, resto etc) . Cons: Parking was a challenge but if you’re lucky you get a spot at the back of the hotel/ apt.no microwave, hot water has a strong smell but cold is a bit better. Has a washer /dryer combo machine which can be a challenge to figure out to work at first 😃. Overall, this is a great place to stay and highly recommended!

our one bedroom with kitchenette was nice. comfortable. the bed was large king. the bathroom was sufficiently large with one large sink. could not ask for more. parking only had 4 slots on a first come first use basis. but during our stay a 5th car was parked infant of the pedestrian gate and was luckily not towed. Bad tourist but that's life. great place to stay in the downtown area and walkable to most of the sites.

Great location downtown. Clean and well maintained apartment hotel with fully equipped kitchen. Our unit was small and not as shown in photos and was misleading when booking the unit. The unit looked out onto an outside guest corridor and we had to leave the blinds closed all the time for privacy. No natural light coming into the unit made the apartment depressing. Sofa bed was very uncomfortable and the queen bed was wedged into a small nook with no way to get into bed from either side. Bathroom was nice.

Never ate at the hotel. The apartment I felt safe. The apartment itself was homie and cute. It was hot at times but I found out that Iceland doesn’t have air conditioners. The fan was useful. Opened the windows but at times flies came in but found out that window screens aren’t used. The kitchen came in use but wish instructions were easier to understand. Loved the place but could hear people above me at times and around me. Especially early in the mornings. Staff at the desk were great and very friendly. The batteries for my door died and had to be replaced and the front desk staff were great and replaced it.

We loved this stay! It was so clean and cozy, I wish we had stayed here longer. Best breeds our whole stay in Iceland. So close to all the things downtown, loved the walkabilty. The only one issue we had was hearing sounds from the floor above most of the evening until we left in the morning. But that's not the facility's fault. We would absolutely stay here again.

Parking is annoying. They did not give us a parking permit / sticker for the free parking in the back despite the email saying guests can request one. I requested it but was given a pamphlet of the parking times and parking apps instead , that’s great and all but I would’ve liked the parking pass I was promised lol. We had to pay for parking on the street for our trip which added up , ended up getting a ticket because it’s only free after 9:00pm and the ticket was cheaper than parking all day there .

Bonus (grocery store) is a walk down the street which is great and convenient.

Utensils and cutlery was handy dandy and they have a great oven and pots and pans to use .

Bathroom was small but did the job and towel warmers were very warm and hot , that was nice.

Though we brought our own, the shower came with body wash . Lots of towels and city view was nice from our room. Some guests can be loud. Upstairs neighbors were up until 3 am drinking, they have noice policies and party policies but doesn’t seem like it’s enforced. I’m pregnant and it was annoying sleeping some days, I wouldn’t recommend it for families traveling with small children who need their sleep .

Overall still good place , just make sure you really communicate with them to not lose out on paying for parking

Parking is limited to four spots, so you can’t count on that, but it’s a real perk when it works. Every employee we encounter was extremely friendly and helpful.

Location was great! We’re family of 3 here for the marathon, 5 mins walk to race start line. A couple blocks away from the finish, super convenient! Parking worked out great for us since we were about to grab the last spot behind the apartment. There were only a few parking spaces, 1st come 1st serve. So we walked and took the bus while in town. The apartment was clean well equipped with cookingware, utensils & dinnerware. Washing machine were very helpful, we were able to wash the sweaty clothes after the race before continuing a weeklong road trip. Supermarket nearby, picked up eggs, bread and milk, made breakfast every morning before heading out to save time & money. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Would definitely stay here again next time to Reykjavik.

My wife and I have gait & balance difficulties that make it difficult to manage stairs and my wife has back and knee problems. We were catching a cruise out of Reykjavik and had several large and heavy (40-45lb) suitcases. Because of the above, I contacted the Thingholt Apartments by Center Hotels well in advance of our travels to confirm that there was elevator access to our 1 bedroom apartment. I was assured that there was elevator access to our one bedroom apartment in the email communications with the hotel.

On arrival, we were assigned a room that required going up one staircase and down two long staircases in order to get to our room, Room 102. Lugging our large and heavy suitcases to our room strained my wife’s back causing pain for the two days we were in Reykjavik.

Furthermore, the washing machine in our room did NOT have a front door and was inoperative. We could not launder clothes before our cruise.

These issues were brought up with the hotel, but the hotel made no accommodation for this breach of contract.

Seniors, especially if you have mobility and strength issues should avoid this hotel. If you do book a stay here, you should confirm that your accommodation will have the appliances and features listed. Lastly, the room we selected on the Expedia site looked nothing like the room we were assigned.

You are truly in the heart of the city here. It’s great to walk outside and be surrounded by great shops and restaurants. The rooms are cute and comfy. Ours had a little kitchen that was perfect for cooking simple meals.

The space was nice and clean. Only complaint is that the shower is designed for looks much more than function. Entire bathroom gets wet. Not a big issue though.

The noise level in the morning will wake you up and although parking is included, there’s only 4 and maybe squeeze in 5 cars. We parked at a lot further away but it was fine. We were really happy with our accommodations. Our one br had a large queen and a pull out sofa that easily fit three adults. The kitchenette and laundry was very convenient. Location is amazing!! There was occasional exterior noise (more for the sofa sleeper).
